  • Rory McIlroy Suggests PGA Tour Should Play Less in ‘Diminished’ Golf Ecosystem

Rory McIlroy is cutting down the number of times he will play in 2025—and for the sport’s health, he feels the PGA Tour should do the same.

“I think 47 or 50 tournaments a year is definitely too many,” the 35-year-old said Tuesday ahead of his season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Ratings and interest in the sport appears to be waning. The first reason could be that the professional game is fractured, and McIlroy said that he “would like to think that something happens pretty soon” regarding the framework agreement between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. However, there have been other initiatives to drive viewership in golf, such as the TGL and YouTube influencers.

But it has created a saturated golf landscape.

“I think (the golf ecosystem) already has been diminished,” McIlroy said. “I would say yeah, look, the one thing about TGL’s only going to last two months. You get this sort of big burst of it in January, February and a little bit of March, then it’s done. It’s gone for 10 months basically. I would say that is hopefully somewhat additive to the ecosystem.

“YouTube is like golf entertainment-adjacent, whatever. Those guys are killing it. They found a niche and it’s really cool and it serves a purpose for a lot of people.”

McIlroy, though, sees the pros and cons of all these forms of golf.

“Look, I would much rather sit down and watch real golfers play real tournaments and that’s just my opinion,” the Northern Irishman said. “That to me is more entertaining. But I understand that other people want something different and that’s totally fine as well.

“I think there’s space for all of this. Yeah, I can see when the golf consumer might get a little fatigued of everything that’s sort of available to them. So to scale it back a little bit and maybe have a little more scarcity in some of the stuff that we do, like the NFL, I think mightn’t be a bad thing.”

Even with several stars playing on LIV, McIlroy believes “the majority of probably the best players in the world are still” on the PGA Tour. Therefore, aside from playing less, he’s aware of other suggestions to improve the product, such as playing classic venues, speeding up the pace of play and more engagement with the fans, which Justin Thomas has lobbied for

But that likely won’t happen overnight. So if people don’t want to watch what the sport currently has to offer, McIlroy is fine with that.

“There’s a lot of things about golf that are very different than other sports, but I think that’s what makes it unique,” the four-time major champion said. “I don’t think we should try to dumb down golf to appeal to more people.

“Golf is golf at the end of the day. It’s been this way for hundreds of years. I really like the way golf is and I think a lot of other people do, too, but I still understand the critiques of how the entertainment product could get better. It’s a multifaceted thing and I think pace of play is one thing. Player accessibility and all that, that’s what we’re talking about, but it takes a while to put that sort of ball into motion.

“These are all the things that have been getting kicked around. But like first and foremost we’re professional golfers, we want to go out there and shoot the best score possible that we can and try to beat each other. Hopefully, people find that entertaining, and if not, then I don’t know what to tell them.”

Rory McIlroy, one of the top golfers in the world, recently made a suggestion that has sparked some debate among golf fans and professionals. In a recent interview, McIlroy expressed his belief that the PGA Tour should consider playing fewer events in order to preserve the integrity of the sport in what he called a “diminished” golf ecosystem.

McIlroy pointed out that the current schedule of events, with tournaments taking place nearly every week throughout the year, can be exhausting for players and may lead to a decrease in the overall quality of play. He argued that by reducing the number of events, players would have more time to rest and prepare for the tournaments they do play in, ultimately leading to better performances on the course.

While some may see McIlroy’s suggestion as controversial, others have supported his stance, noting that a more condensed schedule could help to increase the prestige of each individual event and create more excitement for fans.

As the PGA Tour continues to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of professional golf, it will be interesting to see if McIlroy’s idea gains traction and leads to any changes in the schedule. In the meantime, fans can look forward to watching McIlroy and other top players compete in the many events on the PGA Tour calendar.

  • Actor Idris Elba Suggests ‘Blunting’ Knives To Reduce Stabbings In UK. Social Media Reacts

Amid the uptick in knife crimes in the UK, actor Idris Elba has come up with a solution that has divided the public. The British actor said the government must consider “innovative” prevention methods, including blunting or banning knives. Mr Elba has spent the last year developing a documentary about solutions to knife crime during which he met families of the victims, police officers and the perpetrators.

“The truth is that kitchen knives are perhaps 25 per cent of the knives used in most of the terrible crimes. That’s one of the stats in the film. And those kitchen knives are usually a domestic situation. So kitchen knives…of course, it’s very difficult. They’re a domestic knife,” said Mr Elba.

“I do think there is areas of innovation that we can do with kitchen knives. I hate to say it. Not all kitchen knives need to have a point on them. That sounds like a crazy thing to say, but actually, it would reduce- you know, you can still cut your food without the point on your knife, which is an innovative way to sort of look at it,” he said. “In a country in crisis, I’m sorry, but yeah, let’s look at that.”

The Thor star also called out social media platforms and said they should take responsibility for their actions.

“When it comes to big tech, there needs to be accountability within their own policies, and their policies need to be educated and driven by what society deems is right or wrong,” he argued.

    Social media reacts

Social media users did not take kindly to Mr Elba’s suggestion with many pointing out that the weapon did not stop an accused from going on slicing sprees.

“Next time he does an action movie, I want him to use a Nerf gun instead of a realistic, looking one,” said one user, while another added: “Maybe all cutlery should be banned and everyone issued with their own spork?”

A third commented: “I don’t think that will solve the problem, sir.”

    Knife crime

The knife crime crisis in the UK came into the spotlight yet again after Axel Rudakubana, 18, was sentenced to 52 years in prison after he stabbed three young girls to death and attempted the murder of eight other children and two adults in July last year.

The Labour government, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called knife crime a “national crisis”. His administration has pledged to halve knife crime in the next decade. A ban on some knives and machetes came into force in September last year but the spate of stabbings has not stopped.

British actor Idris Elba has recently suggested a controversial solution to reduce stabbings in the UK – ‘blunting’ knives. In a recent interview, Elba proposed the idea of making knives with rounded tips instead of sharp points in an effort to prevent fatal stabbings.

Social media has been buzzing with reactions to Elba’s suggestion, with some praising his creative thinking and others criticizing the idea as impractical and ineffective. Many have pointed out that blunting knives would not address the root causes of violence in society and could potentially lead to unintended consequences.

What are your thoughts on Idris Elba’s proposal to ‘blunt’ knives? Do you think it could help reduce stabbings in the UK, or do you believe there are better solutions to address the issue of knife crime? Let us know in the comments below. #IdrisElba #KnifeCrime #Stabbings #UKViolence

  • NBA Legend Suggests Jimmy Butler Drama Could Change Contracts Forever

In the short-term, the Jimmy Butler saga hurts him, the Miami Heat, and the NBA at large.

In the long-term, Hall of Fame big man Kevin Garnett fears the ongoing drama could have an irreversible impact on other players.

Garnett passionately blasted Butler on his podcast, ripping the six-time All-Star for his recent conduct. The legendary forward said Butler’s behavior could convince teams to eventually forego giving guaranteed contracts.

“Non-guarantees are gonna come into our league, right here, for s–t like this,” Garnett declared.

Butler signed a three-year extension worth $146.4 million in 2021. His feud with the Heat stems partly from the two sides failing to reach another extension last summer.

“We f—- fought our ass through five or six g–damn lockouts to get to a point where … we protect the integrity of the talent,” Garnett said.

“And then that talent has a responsibility to come in and be professional and do your f—- job,” he continued.

Garnett explained he and co-host Paul Pierce played despite disliking ownership or management. The Heat suspended Butler three times in January alone for misconduct, including missing a team flight and walking out of practice.

Rather than act out, Garnett feels Butler should have shown up and done his job. Garnett cited former All-Star John Wall, who sat out the 2021-22 season with the Houston Rockets, as the team prioritized developing younger guards.

The Rockets reportedly paid Wall roughly $41 million following a buyout.

In fairness to Butler, Garnett argued Heat president Pat Riley isn’t innocent. Riley publicly called out Butler’s durability last spring.

“Both sides could’ve actually squashed all of this,” Garnett said, “but this is a message.

“This is a message not only to the league but this is a message between upstairs and the power of players.”

    COULD BUTLER JOIN WEST STARS?

If the Heat do move Butler, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania has a good idea where the six-time All-Star will end up.

“The Suns and Warriors are shaping up … to being the two likeliest landing spots for Jimmy Butler in a trade,” Charania reported Friday night.

Charania added other teams are in the mix but Golden State and Phoenix remain the favorites.

Both teams have been linked to Butler for nearly two months. Butler does not have a no-trade clause and has not publicly demanded joining a specific team.

Charania said the two Western Conference teams are being aggressive ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline. Both organizations are potentially nearing the end of championship windows, with Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry seeking one more title.

Charania added the Heat have remained in constant communication with both teams.

“The Warriors’ front office has been acting very opportunistically ahead of the deadline next week,” Charania said.

    KINGS OUT ON BUTLER

Butler can cross Sacramento off his list of possible places he’ll finish the season.

NBA insider Sam Amick reported Thursday the Kings are not pursuing Butler ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Sacramento is currently weighing whether to trade All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox within the next week.

The 24-23 Kings are competing for a Play-In spot. Whatever the Kings do, Amick said, will not involve the disgruntled Butler.

“They do not see Jimmy Butler as the answer,” Amick wrote.

NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Suggests Jimmy Butler Drama Could Change Contracts Forever

In a recent interview, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal weighed in on the ongoing drama surrounding Jimmy Butler’s trade request from the Minnesota Timberwolves. O’Neal suggested that Butler’s bold move to demand a trade and potentially disrupt team chemistry could have a lasting impact on player contracts in the league.

O’Neal pointed out that in the past, players were often hesitant to rock the boat and demand trades for fear of being labeled as difficult or disruptive. However, Butler’s actions have shown that players are increasingly willing to take matters into their own hands and push for trades to situations that better suit their needs.

The NBA legend predicted that Butler’s drama could set a precedent for future contract negotiations, with players becoming more assertive in shaping their own destinies and seeking out situations that align with their personal goals and aspirations.

As the NBA landscape continues to evolve and players gain more power and agency in shaping their careers, it will be interesting to see how Butler’s situation plays out and whether it will indeed have a lasting impact on player contracts in the league.

  • MultiVersus Season 5 May Be The End Of The Game, Rumor Suggests

    ·

    ·

MultiVersus could be coming to an end. A new rumor from known MultiVersus leaker AusilMV suggests that the game’s upcoming Season 5 could be the last one.

“[MultiVersus] Season 5 may be the final season of MultiVersus, depending on how it performs,” they said while prefacing that this isn’t confirmed yet.. “A notable source shared this rumor with me, stating that Season 5 may be a “last-ditch effort” for the game.”

Insider Gaming has reached out Warner Bros. Games and developer Player First Games for comment on the rumor. Should a response be received, it will be amended to this story.

The idea that MultiVersus could be heading towards a tipping point shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to players and outsiders alike. Since the game launched with high player numbers nearly three years ago, its popularity has dwindled. The game saw a peak player count on Steam of 153,433 players before it fell by 99% within its first few months.

After it struggled to regain traction, Warner Bros. Games announced it was taking the game down in June 2023 after what it then started to call an “open beta” period. It was re-released in May 2024 with numerous updates and changes in the months since. However, it has yet to return to the numbers it had when it first launched and the hype from players was there.

MultiVersus Season 5 is scheduled to start in early February. It’ll be interesting to see what the developers have planned to try and get players to not only pick up their game, but stick around after.

What do you make of the rumors that Season 5 could be MultiVersus’ last? Let us know down below, and join more discussions in the official Insider Gaming forums.

While developer Warner Bros. Games has not officially confirmed these rumors, speculation has been fueled by the lack of new content announcements and a decline in player activity.

Fans of the game have expressed concern over the potential end of MultiVersus, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts and memories of the game.

Whether Season 5 truly signals the end of MultiVersus remains to be seen, but players are advised to enjoy the game while they can and cherish the memories they have created within its virtual battlegrounds. Stay tuned for updates as the situation continues to develop.

  • Leaked Memo Suggests a Top U.S. Agency Will No Longer Recognize Pride, MLK Day, and Holocaust Remembrance

Sign up for The Agenda Them’s news and politics newsletter, delivered to your inbox every Thursday.

Update 1/29/25 5 p.m. ET: In response to a request for comment, a spokesperson for the Defense Intelligence Agency told Them that the DIA is “working with the Department of Defense to fully implement all Executive Orders and Administration guidance in a timely manner.”

Original story 1/29/25: The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is reportedly canceling all future LGBTQ+ Pride observances, along with a host of other significant events for marginalized communities, according to a leaked internal memo obtained by independent journalist Ken Klippenstein.

Klippenstein, a former reporter for The Intercept (and sometime Twitter prankster), posted the memo on social media Wednesday, claiming that an intelligence official had leaked a photo of it directly to him. According to the document, which appears to have been stamped January 28 and bears a letterhead with DIA and Department of Defense seals, the agency is putting an indefinite “pause” on at least 11 “Special Observances” scheduled annually between January and November.

That list includes the entirety of Pride Month, federally observed in June since 1999. Other canceled observances include Black History Month in February, Women’s History Month in March, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, and Juneteenth on June 19. Women’s Equality Day on August 26, National Hispanic Heritage Month and Disability Employment Awareness Month in October, and National American Indian Heritage Month in November are also canceled, as well as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and any Holocaust Remembrance Days, according to the leaked memo.

    Bluesky content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Them attempted to contact the DIA’s Public Affairs office to confirm the leaked memo’s authenticity, but did not receive a reply at time of writing. The department forms the intelligence wing of the Department of Defense, and is the “primary manager and producer of foreign military intelligence” in the U.S. government, according to its website.

“DIA will pause all activities and events related to Special Emphasis Programs effective immediately and until further notice,” the memo reads. (“Special emphasis programs” are employment programs within the federal government that, as the name implies, place special emphasis on marginalized communities like people of color, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ people.) The DIA will also be pausing “Agency Resource Groups, Affinity Groups, and Employee Networking Groups, effective immediately” upon issuance of the memo.

Recently, a leaked memo from a top U.S. agency has caused shock and outrage as it suggests that the agency will no longer recognize important cultural and historical observances such as Pride Month, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Holocaust Remembrance Day.

This memo has sparked concern among many who see these observances as important symbols of diversity, equality, and remembrance of past atrocities. The decision to no longer recognize these observances raises questions about the agency’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and acknowledging the struggles and triumphs of marginalized communities.

The potential erasure of Pride Month, MLK Day, and Holocaust Remembrance Day from the agency’s calendar is a troubling development that highlights the ongoing challenges faced by marginalized communities in the U.S. It is imperative that we continue to fight for equality, justice, and remembrance of the past to ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of history.

As this story continues to unfold, it is important for us to stand in solidarity with those who are affected by these potential changes and to advocate for the recognition and celebration of these important observances. We must continue to push for a more inclusive and equitable society where all voices are heard and all histories are remembered.

  • Report Suggests Paige DeSorbo ‘Getting Serious’ With Joe D’Amelio

Paige DeSorbo is single and ready to mingle, with a note of maybe on the latter. But when this Summer House star cut ties with her Bravo bruh, the rumor mills started singing. The lyrics to these whispers told of Paige not wishing to wed. Others even claimed Paige had already moved on. And now, the word on the street argues that she and Joe D’Amelio, a marketing professional, are already getting serious.

Please take this report with a grain of salt. We are merely the messengers, telling you what others are saying. Also, do not read this, Craig Conover.

Paige DeSorbo and Joe D’Amelio might be serious

Bravo Breaking News breaks down this claim. As stated, the day after Paige confirmed her breakup with Craig via her podcast, Giggly Squad, she and Joe allegedly hung out. DeuxMoi then validated this claim on her podcast, DeuxU, saying, “All the Gigglers didn’t believe it was true. I’m here to tell you I found out it was true. She was at Zero Bond with Joe.”

DeuxU also noted that Paige and Joe rang in the New Year together. In January, @bravoandcocktails posted a reel of Paige and Joe at a Philadelphia Eagles game. Next, DeuxMoi revealed that Joe and his sister attended a Giggly Squad show at Radio City in NYC, which is serious, as their families are now entering the chat.

Overall, nothing says I might (maybe) love you like a sandy beach vacation, right? However, for all the Gigglers, Bravo Breaking News loves Paige and does not want you to come for her. She only wants good things for our favorite bed-ridden (by choice) Summer House star, so chill.

Summer House premieres Wednesday, February 12 at 9/8c on Bravo.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE THAT PAIGE AND JOE ARE GETTING SERIOUS? IF SO, DO YOU THINK JOE MIGHT APPEAR ON SUMMER HOUSE?

The post Report Suggests Paige DeSorbo ‘Getting Serious’ With Joe D’Amelio appeared first on Reality Tea.

A recent report has suggested that Paige DeSorbo, star of Bravo’s hit show “Summer House,” is getting serious with her boyfriend Joe D’Amelio.

According to sources close to the couple, DeSorbo and D’Amelio have been spending a lot of time together and are enjoying getting to know each other on a deeper level. The two have been spotted out and about in New York City, looking happy and in love.

Fans of the show have been rooting for DeSorbo and D’Amelio since they first went public with their relationship earlier this year. Many have commented on how well the two seem to complement each other and how happy they appear to be together.

While neither DeSorbo nor D’Amelio have confirmed the news of their relationship becoming more serious, sources say that things are definitely heating up between the two. Only time will tell if this summer romance will turn into something more long-term. Stay tuned for updates on this adorable couple!

  • Jim Cramer Suggests Getting ‘The King of Robots’ Instead of Serve Robotics Inc. (SERV)

We recently compiled a list of the Jim Cramer Shed Light on These 9 Stocks. In this article, we are going to take a look at where Serve Robotics Inc. (NASDAQ:SERV) stands against the other stocks Jim Cramer recently talked about.

Jim Cramer, the host of Mad Money, has been considering the uncertainty surrounding 2025 and the ongoing macroeconomic challenges that are sparking important questions. One of the main points Cramer has been grappling with is the direction Washington will take in the coming months. He highlighted that, despite two months of processing the election results, there’s still a lack of clarity about what the priorities will be and what Congress might actually pass. Cramer also brought up several important questions about President Donald Trump’s stance on various issues.

“Is president-elect Trump serious about large widespread tariffs or is the tough talk just a negotiating tactic? How serious is Trump about mass deportations? Which, if enacted, would likely have an impact on… the labor market.”

READ ALSO Jim Cramer Discussed These 12 Stocks Amidst The DeepSeek AI Selloff and Jim Cramer Talked About These 11 Stocks Recently

Another major question Cramer raised was about deregulation, how much benefit will companies truly see from it, and how quickly? In terms of corporate taxes, Cramer also noted that the extension of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act seems likely, but he questioned whether Trump might push even further, potentially altering the tax landscape in a more significant way. Perhaps one of the most pressing questions Cramer raised concerned the bond market and its tolerance for large U.S. government budget deficits.

“And considering that last question, here’s a doozy: Will the bond market continue to tolerate big budget deficits from the US government?”

He pointed out that some argue the bond market has already begun to take a more stringent stance on national debt, evident in the rising treasury yields over recent months. Still, Cramer left it at that, suggesting the situation remains uncertain.

“Difficult to answer because as we learned last time, I mean, Donald Trump is not a predictable president, great for cable news ratings, but sometimes frustrating when you’re in the business of making predictions. Hmm, maybe a higher cash position than normal could beckon.”

    Our Methodology

For this article, we compiled a list of 9 stocks that were discussed by Jim Cramer during the episodes of Mad Money aired on January 7 and 8. We listed the stocks in ascending order of their hedge fund sentiment as of the third quarter, which was taken from Insider Monkey’s database of 900 hedge funds.

In a recent episode of Mad Money, Jim Cramer suggested investors consider investing in ‘The King of Robots’ instead of Serve Robotics Inc. (SERV). Cramer believes that ‘The King of Robots’ has more potential for growth and profitability in the long run.

Serve Robotics Inc. recently went public and has been touted as a disruptor in the robotics industry, specifically in the delivery robot market. However, Cramer expressed doubts about the company’s ability to sustain its current growth trajectory and compete with other players in the market.

Cramer’s recommendation to look into ‘The King of Robots’ instead of Serve Robotics Inc. comes as a surprise to many investors, but Cramer has a track record of making bold and successful investment recommendations.

Investors are advised to do their own research and consider all factors before making any investment decisions. It will be interesting to see how ‘The King of Robots’ performs in the coming months and whether Cramer’s suggestion proves to be a wise move for investors.

  • Analyst suggests trading $35,859,950 forward to help Nikola Jokić’s ailing defensive support

Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets had one of the NBA’s top offenses for the past few years. However, their postseason runs, including their 2023 title, are more attributed to their defense, led by Aaron Gordon and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

This year, an NBA analyst believes the Nuggets must part ways with one of their offensive contributors to improve their defense. The team has lost strong defenders like Caldwell-Pope and Bruce Brown to free agency, weakening their defensive lineup and increasing pressure on Jokić.

In an ESPN article, Neil Paine suggested trading Michael Porter Jr., who has been among the team’s weaker defenders since joining in 2019. Porter is under contract for $35,859,950 this season (per Spotrac), making him a challenging player to trade.

If the Nuggets find the right trade partner, they could use Porter’s contract to acquire multiple players focused on defense, enhancing support for Jokić and addressing the team’s 16th-ranked defense.

Despite being a 6-foot-10 forward, Porter has struggled to improve his defensive capabilities with the Nuggets. He has never averaged more than one block per game and has recorded over one steal per game only once, in a season where he played just nine games. This season, lineups featuring Porter have allowed more than two points per 100 possessions.

If Nuggets trade Michael Porter Jr., who could they get back to help Nikola Jokić & Co.?

Michael Porter Jr. is at the center of trade rumors as the Feb. 6 deadline approaches, with the Chicago Bulls being a potential destination. However, a trade involving Porter for Zach LaVine could further weaken the Nuggets defense instead of providing balance.

Two other intriguing spots for Porter are the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets. The Nuggets’ deal with the Hawks would see Porter sent to Atlanta for Onyeka Okongwu and Bogdan Bogdanović. This trade brings in a serviceable and defensive-minded backup as well as another shooter to space the floor for Nikola Jokić.

The Nets, on the other hand, would be a bit more complicated. A trade with Brooklyn would require a third team to facilitate the deal. However, it would bring Denver a key defender, Cameron Johnson.
