Wilson Jersey Retirement, Auburn on Deck for Gamecocks Sunday – University of South Carolina Athletics
Gamecock Notables
-
South Carolina will retire A’ja Wilson’s jersey in a pregame ceremony on Sunday. The 2018 graduate was the program’s first National Player of the Year and four-time All-American while becoming the first three-time SEC Player of the Year in league history. The first No. 1 recruit to sign with the Gamecocks, Wilson led her hometown team to its first Final Four and first National Championship and capped her career by becoming the program’s first No. 1 overall WNBA Draft pick.
-
The Gamecocks did more than survive the gauntlet of their last five games all against top-20 opponents. They remained undefeated in the SEC, winning those five games by 18.6 points per game thanks to a defensive effort that allowed just 57.4 points per game over the stretch that included three of the league’s five highest scoring teams. Offensively, five Gamecocks averaged at least 2.0 assists with the team assisting on 59.0 percent of their field goals.
-
South Carolina’s league-best 6.88 blocks per SEC game include 2.63 per game by guards, led by MiLaysia Fulwiley’s 1.0 blocks per conference game, which rank ninth in the league.
-
Forward Joyce Edwards is making her case for SEC Freshman of the Year as the Gamecocks’ top scorer overall (12.4) and in league play where her 14.75 points per game are 17th in the conference. Her .618 field goal percentage against league foes is second in the conference. Her team-high nine games leading the offense include five against ranked opponents. Against five ranked SEC foes, she averaged 16.0 points on 60.4 percent shooting in just 22.4 minutes.
-
Point guard Raven Johnson has thrived over the last three games, averaging 4.0 assists and 8.0 points on 47.6 percent shooting over the stretch. Against SEC teams, she leads the league with a 4.17 assist-to-turnover ratio and is 11th with 1.88 steals per conference game.
-
Junior Chloe Kitts’ steady performance on the glass has her ranked ninth in the SEC overall (7.5 rpg) and in league play (7.25). Her overall rebounding average includes 2.65 on the offensive end, which ranks 13th in the SEC.
By the Numbers
12 – South Carolina’s bench, which leads the nation in scoring, has outscored its opponent’s starting lineup in 12 games this season.33.7 – Opponents have shot just 33.7 percent against the Gamecocks, which ranks them fifth in the nation in field goal percentage defense.
47.6 – Of South Carolina’s 21 games this season, 47.6 percent (10) have been against ranked opponents.
The Auburn Series
The Gamecocks are 30-21 all-time against the Tigers with an 18-3 mark in the Dawn Staley era (beginning 2008-09) and a 16-7 slate in Columbia.South Carolina has won the last 15 meetings, including last season’s 76-54 victory in Auburn (Feb. 1). The Tigers slowed down the Gamecock offense in the first half, holding it to just 28.6 percent shooting to trail by just five at halftime, 27-22. South Carolina bounced back in the second half to hit 56.3 percent from the field, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range to pull away for the win.
All About Balance
Like last season, South Carolina’s greatest asset is its depth with the 2024-25 roster featuring six Gamecocks who averaged at least 18.0 minutes and scored at least 8.1 points per game last season. This season, 10 Gamecocks have played at least 15.0 minutes per game. Seven average at least 7.0 points, including five who average 9.0 or more. Five players have grabbed at least 4.0 rebounds per game. Eleven Gamecocks have scored in double figures at least once, including six who have done it at least five times, and six players have led the team in scoring at least once.
Paint Production
South Carolina has long controlled the paint, and this season’s numbers have upheld that standard. With 51.0 percent of their points coming in the paint, the Gamecocks are sixth in the nation with 41.1 paint point per game, according to CBBanalytics.com, and are out-scoring opponents in that space by 15.7 points per game. They are shooting 54.0 percent in the paint compared to opponents’ 39.1 percent accuracy in the space.
The University of South Carolina Athletics department is gearing up for a monumental weekend as they prepare to retire the jersey of Gamecock basketball legend, A’ja Wilson. The ceremony will take place on Saturday night as the Gamecocks take on the Auburn Tigers at Colonial Life Arena.Wilson, who led the Gamecocks to their first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship in 2017, is a two-time SEC Player of the Year and was the number one overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft. Her impact on the program and the community has been immeasurable, making her jersey retirement a well-deserved honor.
Following the jersey retirement ceremony, the Gamecocks will turn their attention to their SEC showdown with the Auburn Tigers on Sunday. The Gamecocks are currently ranked #1 in the SEC and will look to continue their dominance as they push towards the postseason.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Gamecocks as they honor A’ja Wilson and cheer on the team in their quest for another SEC victory. It is sure to be an exciting weekend full of basketball and celebration at the University of South Carolina.

Is today Super Bowl Sunday? NFL has unique championship schedule
There have been NFL games for 26 straight weeks, a half a year dating back to the preseason opener in August. That streak ends this week.
Groundhog Day is Feb. 2, but whether or not Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, you have to wait one more week of winter for the Super Bowl.
Here’s what to know about the Super Bowl schedule.
Is Super Bowl Sunday today?
The Super Bowl is not on Feb. 2. The NFL has a two-week gap between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. It made the extra week permanent more than 20 years ago.
Expert NFL playoff picks: Unique data and betting insights only at USA TODAY
Is there any football today?
The Pro Bowl Games continue from 3-6 p.m. Sunday on ESPN, ABC and Disney XD. The event includes skills competitions and an all-star flag football game. The NFC leads the AFC after skills challenges on Thursday.
Why is there a week off before the Super Bowl?
The fortnight between playoff rounds is for a variety of reasons. Teams are given more time to get healthy and prepare but there are off-the-field benefits for the NFL: logistics for the host stadium; allowing fans time to procure tickets and travel plans; holding the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl; marketing and promotion; media buildup; and hype.
There have only been seven times in Super Bowl history that the title game was played the week following the conference championship games.
When is Super Bowl 2025 ?
The 2025 Super Bowl will be played at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Who is playing in Super Bowl 2025?
The AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs will play against the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Kansas City is seeking to become the first team in NFL history with three straight Super Bowl titles. The Chiefs have won two straight titles and three championships in the last five years.
Have the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl before?
Kansas City defeated Philadelphia 38-35 on a game-winning field goal in Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 12, 2023.
What TV channel is Super Bowl 2025 on?
The 2025 Super Bowl will be broadcast on FOX.
Who is broadcasting Super Bowl 2025?
Play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and analyst Tom Brady will announce the game on FOX. Tom Rinaldi and Erin Andrews are the sideline reporters. Mike Pereira is the rules analyst.
Brady, who played in 10 Super Bowls as a quarterback with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is the announcing the Super Bowl in his first year as a broadcaster. Brady is in the first year of a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX. Brady received mixed reviews in his debut as a broadcaster in September, but has shown marked improvement as the year progressed and has rounded into postseason form.
It’s Burkhardt’s second Super Bowl as the lead play-by-play announcer. His other Super Bowl was also between the Chiefs and Eagles in Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 12, 2023. Andrews is covering her fourth Super Bowl as a sideline reporter for FOX and it’ll be Rinaldi’s second Super Bowl.
When is the Super Bowl pregame show?
FOX NFL Sunday and FOX NFL Kickoff are combining for five-and-a-half hours of pregame coverage starting at 1 p.m. The coverage includes host Curt Menefee with Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, Jay Glazer, Charissa Thompson, Charles Woodson, Julian Edelman, Michael Vick, Peter Schrager, Kristina Pink and Cooper Manning.
Where will Super Bowl 2025 be played?
The 2025 Super Bowl will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
New Orleans will tie Miami for most Super Bowls by a host city with 11. It will be the eighth time the Super Bowl has been played at the Superdome, the most of any venue. The first three Super Bowls in New Orleans were at Tulane Stadium.
What number Super Bowl is this?
It’s Super Bowl 59. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals, so it is officially Super Bowl LIX.
Who is performing the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show?
Hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar will perform the halftime show for Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. Lamar, 37, shared the halftime show stage at the Super Bowl in Los Angeles in 2022 with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.
Who is singing the national anthem in Super Bowl 2025?
Five-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Jon Batiste will perform the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty, who won a Grammy Award as a featured artists on Batiste’s 2021 album “We Are,” will perform “America the Beautiful” alongside two-time Grammy winner Lauren Daigle.
Grammy winning singer-songwriter Ledisi will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
Yes, today is indeed Super Bowl Sunday! The NFL has a unique championship schedule that culminates in the highly anticipated Super Bowl, where the top two teams in the league face off to determine the ultimate champion. FRENCH CREEK, W.Va.— A big crowd is anticipated Sunday at the West Virginia Wildlife Center for the annual celebration of Groundhog Day.
Things get started at 9 a.m. at the facility in French Creek and the public is invited to come see West Virginia’s official groundhog “French Creek Freddie.” Freddie will emerge from his lair to predict whether we’re looking at six more weeks of winter or an early spring, all hinging on whether he happens to see his shadow.
The ceremony is at 10 a.m. but there are activities throughout the day. Wildlife Center Manager Trevor Moore said it’s always an opportunity to educate, which is the mission of the Wildlife Center.
“Groundhogs are actually members of the rodent family and they are really closely related to squirrels, so they’re a type of ground squirrel and are also known as marmots,” he explained.
He’ll be delivering a talk on groundhog biology as part of the festivities.
“They’re amazing diggers. They can dig huge burrows and move as much as 700 pounds of dirt during a summer, much to the chagrin of farmers or anyone who has one digging under their house,” he added.
The Groundhog Day traditions started back in Germany where the culture observed a hedgehog or badger for the purpose of determining the status of early spring or winter’s continuation. When German immigrants migrated into America, they brought along the tradition, but not the hedgehogs so they had to pick a new animal. The abundant groundhogs of the region seemed to be the perfect fit.
“They settled primarily in Pennsylvania and I’m assuming that’s why Groundhog Day is such a huge deal up there,” said Moore.
Gates to the West Virginia Wildlife Center open at 9 a.m. Sunday. Freddie emerges at 10 a.m. and afterward there are a variety of contests and refreshments at the facility’s gift shop.
French Creek Freddie to Emerge on SundayGet ready, nature enthusiasts! French Creek Freddie, Pennsylvania’s very own groundhog, will be emerging from his burrow this Sunday to predict the arrival of spring. Will he see his shadow and signal six more weeks of winter, or will he bring us an early spring?
Make sure to tune in to see French Creek Freddie in action and join in on the fun tradition of Groundhog Day. Who knows, maybe this year he’ll surprise us all with his prediction! Stay tuned for all the excitement this Sunday.

#French #Creek #Freddie #emerge #SundayWhy Willie Geist Was ‘Shocked’ By Turnout for 1st Live Sunday Sitdown (Exclusive)
- Sunday Today with Willie Geist will air its first-ever Sunday Sitdown Live on Feb. 2
- Host Willie Geist interviewed comedian Nate Bargatze in front of a live audience on Jan. 22 at City Winery in New York City
- “I still am a little bit overwhelmed,” Geist tells PEOPLE exclusively
Sources say Willie Geist is a “natural.” (Sources being his Today colleagues Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager and Dylan Dreyer, that is.)
Backstage at City Winery in New York City on Jan. 22, the ladies of Today — Geist’s honorary “sisters,” as they call themselves — tell PEOPLE that they’re excited for him ahead of the first-ever “Sunday Sitdown Live” interview he’s conducting with comedian Nate Bargatze. (The interview will air on Sunday, Feb. 2.)
“Willie is an incredible interviewer,” says Guthrie. “He’s beloved. He’s adorable. And he has a vision, and he’s executed this vision.”
Geist laughs days later when he learns what his coworkers said about him — and when he’s asked how exactly one gets to be such a natural.

“My dad was in the business. He was a CBS Sunday Morning correspondent, but we never had a formal conversation like, ‘Son, you should get into TV news,’” he tells PEOPLE. “I could tell my dad was having fun, and I saw the product of his work on television every Sunday, which I thought was cool. So, that sunk in somewhere without question, but not because he sat me down and told me I ought to do it.”
In the nearly nine years since the inception of Sunday Today, Geist has conducted more than 500 interviews with countless A-list celebrities (in fact, he’s nabbed Mariska Hargitay, Glenn Close and Cynthia Erivo for conversations in the last month alone).
So, when the idea began cropping up that the team should try and bring the beloved Sunday Sitdown interview to their loyal fanbase, Geist was excited. Sponsor (and venue) City Winery was game. All they’d need was an audience.

Geist’s first-ever Sunday Sitdown Live sold out 500 tickets in under 10 minutes — a feat he admits he “was shocked by,” never mind the fact that people flew to N.Y.C. from all across the country (California! Iowa! Michigan!) for the chance to be in the room.
“I still am a little bit overwhelmed by that. You do a show and you know how many people watch, and that’s a lot of people, but you don’t see them, really,” says Geist. “You interact with them on social media, and then when they’re in the room? I literally was saying to them, ‘Oh, are you in town for work or are you here to see Wicked?’ And they’re like, ‘No, no, I got the ticket for Christmas. We bought plane tickets and a hotel room and we flew here to see you.’ I was so touched by that. It was really beautiful.”
Geist laughs again when told yes, he really was the main attraction.
“Well, Nate wasn’t too bad either,” he says. “He’s got some fans.”

As a beloved comedian with a skyrocketing career, Bargatze was a natural choice for Sunday Today to kick off a first-of-its-kind event. To Geist’s credit, however, he’s not one for cue cards, and his intimate interviews aren’t the type where he can have teleprompters on stage or following him down a bustling street with a big star in tow, either.
“I try always to just be a hundred percent authentic, and hopefully people who know me would say, ‘He’s the same person on and off TV.’ When I sit down, I want it to actually be a conversation,” he says. “Now, [it’s] one that I’ve prepared for and have a million things to ask and [I] hopefully know where the good subject areas will be, but I just try to really take out as much of the artifice of a TV interview as I can, knowing that there’s still cameras and lights and it makes it a little weird for everybody, but hopefully we can just sit and chat,” he says.
Geist likens the experience to heading to “a bar with a friend, or to dinner,” where he doesn’t have a list of prepared questions he plans to inquire about.

Instead, part of the key to being such a natural actually is to be over prepared, says Geist. It takes work to make something hard look so easy.

“I’ve told my kids this as they get into their teenage years: the thing that neutralizes anxiety, whether you’re interviewing somebody or making a speech or a presentation in class, is preparation. So, I just lean into the preparation because I know if I’ve done the work, then there’s nothing to be anxious about,” says Geist. “I know everything about this person. I know where I hope the interview will go. I’ll be able — if they take it to another direction — to react with more on that area that they want to talk about. Preparation is the anxiety killer.”
Sunday Today airs Sundays at 8 a.m. ET on NBC.
Why Willie Geist Was ‘Shocked’ By Turnout for 1st Live Sunday Sitdown (Exclusive)Willie Geist, host of NBC’s “Sunday Today with Willie Geist,” recently sat down for his first live Sunday Sitdown event and was blown away by the turnout. The event, which took place at a popular venue in New York City, was filled to capacity with fans eager to hear Geist’s insights and stories.
In an exclusive interview, Geist shared his surprise at the overwhelming support from his fans. “I was truly shocked by the turnout for our first live Sunday Sitdown,” Geist said. “It’s amazing to see how many people are interested in hearing these conversations and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the show.”
Geist’s Sunday Sitdown interviews have become a popular segment on his show, featuring in-depth conversations with celebrities, athletes, and newsmakers. The live event gave fans the opportunity to experience these interviews in person and ask their own questions.
“I’m so grateful for the support of our viewers and fans,” Geist said. “It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do and the impact it can have on people.”
Overall, the success of the first live Sunday Sitdown event has left Geist feeling grateful and excited for future opportunities to connect with his audience in a more personal and engaging way.

It’s a box office battle Sunday morning when Manchester City and Arsenal face off at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal has had little success against Manchester City since Mikel Arteta took over as manager in 2019, winning just one game and losing seven with two ties.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City seemingly has Arsenal’s number, but the Gunners come in playing well in the early season.
Arsenal is unbeaten in 13 straight games, winning eight and drawing in five.

The Cityzens clinched a playoff berth with their win over Club Brugge (3-1) on Wednesday in what has otherwise been a tumultuous season.
Injuries have plagued the team, as they lost star midfielder Rodri in September and they will not have their most reliable center defender, Ruben Dias, for this game as he recovers from a groin injury.
Savinho of Manchester City joyfully celebrates scoring his team’s third goal in their UEFA Champions League 2024-25 match against Club Brugge KV. Getty Images Nathan Ake could also miss this game as their team is a bit of a shell of themselves, although their backups in John Stones and Manuel Akanji form more than a formidable defense back there.
They will still have superstar striker Erling Haaland leading their attack with 24 goals.

Manchester City has done well in recent weeks, having also gone unbeaten in six straight and recently defeating Chelsea in the Champions League.
Few will disagree that the Cityzens are talented and getting them at a price like this is very intriguing.
History aside, Manchester City is the side to target this weekend as they have averaged three goals per game and have an elite attack that could give Arsenal fits Sunday.

Find the links between the words to win today’s game of Connections.
Looking for Saturday’s Connections hints and answers instead? You can find them here:
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re having an excellent weekend!
One of my very favorite things I saw (and wrote about) last week was a limited-edition wrist watch based on the classic game Asteroids. Y’know, that Atari one from the ’70s.
It looks very cool, if a little chaotic. The controllable ship from the game that pew-pews at asteroids is the second hand, while two UFOs denote the hours and minutes. Some asteroids add to the visual noise, though.
I’m not huge on video game memorabilia, but I have picked up a few pieces over the last coupe of years to brighten up my place (I utterly adore my elephant Mario plush and Sayonara Wild Hearts print). But yeah, I had to snap up this watch. I’m looking forward to being the kind of dork who wears both that and an Apple Watch at the same time.
Before we begin, I’ve set up a discussion group for Connections and this column on Discord. You can chat about each game (and other topics) with me and other folks. I’m always interested to find out how other people approach the game, so join us! It’s fun.
It’s also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare(!) occasions that I mess something up.
Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers for Sunday, February 2, are coming right up.
How To Play Connections
Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.
You’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part.
There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.
If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication’s Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed.
Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

What Are Today’s Connections Groups?
Need some extra help?
Be warned: we’re starting to get into spoiler territory.
Today’s Connections groups are…
- Yellow group — dejected
- Green group — birds that are verbs
- Blue group — TV comedy families
- Purple group — words after “K”
What Are Today’s Connections Answers?
Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.
This is your final warning!
Today’s Connections answers are…
- Yellow group — dejected (BLUE, DOWN, HANGDOG, SORRY)
- Green group — birds that are verbs (DUCK, GROUSE, HAWK, SWALLOW)
- Blue group — TV comedy families (GRIFFIN, MUNSTER, PARTRIDGE, PICKLES)
- Purple group — words after “K” (MART, POP, STREET, SWISS)
A second perfect game in a row extends my overall streak to 20 wins. Here’s how I fared:
My first instinct was that MUNSTER, GRIFFIN and PARTRIDGE would be TV families. The only one that made sense to me with those was PICKLES, so I took a stab and hey, I was right!
They relate to Family Guy (GRIFFIN), The Munsters (MUNSTER), The Partridge Family (PARTRIDGE) and Rugrats (PICKLES). I was happy about getting that, since I haven’t ever watched two of those shows.
The four remaining birds were up next, though I didn’t clock that they were all verbs too. Fun little wrinkle there.
The yellows then jumped out at me, thanks to DOWN and HANGDOG. I submitted the blues first, but I didn’t deduce that connection first.
KMART is a department store chain that only has five physical stores left: three in the U.S. Virgin Islands, one in Guam and a smaller one in Miami. K-POP means “Korean popular music.” K STREET (which I’d never heard of) is a street known for political lobbying in Washington, D.C. as well as the name of an HBO show from Steven Soderbergh about said activity. As for K-SWISS, that’s a brand of athletic shoes.
That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for hints and the solution for Monday’s game if you need them.
P.S. I’m wrapping up my week of dance music recommendations with another French house track. I love the expansiveness of Justice’s sound. My favorite track of theirs is probably “DVNO,” so I’m going with that. It is, as the youths say, a banger:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Call someone you love!

Kyrie Irving Injury: Questionable for Sunday
Irving (shoulder) has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers.
After a strong outing in Friday’s loss against the Pistons, finishing with a team-high 28 points, Irving could be watching from the sideline during Sunday’s game in Cleveland. If the one-time NBA champion is ruled out against the Cavaliers, the Mavericks could turn to Spencer Dinwiddie to shift over to point guard. Jaden Hardy, Quentin Grimes and Dante Exum could also see a bump in minutes.
Kyrie Irving Injury Update: Questionable for Sunday’s GameBrooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving is currently listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a lingering knee injury. Irving, who has been dealing with soreness in his knee for the past few weeks, sat out the team’s last game as a precautionary measure.
Irving’s status for Sunday’s highly anticipated matchup remains uncertain, as the team continues to monitor his progress and evaluate his readiness to return to action. The Nets will likely make a game-time decision on Irving’s availability, taking into consideration his health and overall well-being.

#Kyrie #Irving #Injury #Questionable #SundayWatch: Gophers wrestler Gable Steveson takes 59-match win streak into Sunday vs. Rutgers
The No. 7 Gophers wrestling team (7-1, 3-1 B1G) welcomes No. 12 Rutgers (11-4, 3-2) to town Sunday at noon.
It’s a chance for heavyweight Gable Steveson to extend his match win streak to 60. Steveson is 92-2 overall in his career, including 55-0 in duals and 40-0 within the Big Ten.
Steveson passed Tim Hartung for the third longest winning streak in program history. The only Gophers ahead of Steveson are Dustin Schlatter, who won 65 in a row from 2005-07, and Cole Konrad, who holds the record with 76 straight victories from 2005 to 2007.
Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson was on campus this week and spoke with Steveson and undefeated 184-pounder Max McEnelly (Waconia HS).

McEnelly is 14-0 on the season with 12 bonus-points wins, including 10 by tech fall. He also was undefeated last year as a freshman.
The Gophers have won 13 of their last 14 duals dating back to last season.
