Joe Biden Signs With CAA Talent Agency For Representation
Donald Trump might be absorbing all the political oxygen right now, but his successor and predecessor isn’t ready to totally exit the stage.
Joe Biden has signed with Creative Artists Agency in all areas, the agency said Monday.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” Richard Lovett, co-chairman of CAA, said today of the agency’s former and now present client. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
Biden had been with CAA from 2017-2020, after leaving Washington, D.C. and his role as Vice Presidency and before being elected as the 46th President of the United States. During that time, Biden published his memoir Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose about the death of his eldest son Beau. The book, published in November 2017, was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller and evolved into the big-draw American Promise tour, a prelude in the eyes of many to Biden’s successful 2020 run for the White House.
With it being just two weeks since he left office, there’s no indication Biden has a new book or project in the hopper. On the other hand, it’s doubtful the 82-year-old Democrat would return to CAA if he doesn’t something up his sleeve. While keeping a low-ish profile, Biden has been seen out and about around his Delaware home and is staying in touch with ex-aides and others, I hear.
Exiting the nation’s capital last month after more than 50 years of public service, Biden told supporters: “We’re leaving office, we’re not leaving the fight.”
Biden’s old boss and buddy Barack Obama is also represented by CAA through he and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground production company.
In a surprising move, President Joe Biden has signed with the prestigious Creative Artists Agency (CAA) talent agency for representation. This marks the first time a sitting president has joined a talent agency, signaling a shift in the way political figures navigate their careers post-office.According to sources, CAA will work with President Biden to secure speaking engagements, book deals, and other opportunities that align with his interests and values. The agency, known for representing top Hollywood talent and influential figures, is expected to leverage President Biden’s vast experience and knowledge to secure lucrative deals for him.
This move comes as no surprise, as President Biden has always been a charismatic and engaging speaker, drawing crowds wherever he goes. With CAA’s expertise in the entertainment industry, President Biden is sure to make a splash in the world of public speaking and beyond.
Stay tuned for more updates on President Biden’s exciting new venture with CAA!

How EA’s $5 billion Sims empire has become a magnet for female talent in a male-dominated field
Good morning! Trump blames DEI for deadly D.C. plane crash, JetBlue’s financial outlook disappoints, and the women-led team behind The Sims celebrates a milestone. Have an amazing weekend.
– The Sims’s next life stage. Put fans of The Sims in a room or online forum together, and there’s no shortage of game modifications to learn, design hacks to master, and in-game lore to discover. But it won’t be long until the discussion inevitably turns to a dirty not-so-secret among players of all ages, one of every devotee of the game’s rites of passage.
“There’s something really beautiful watching a Sims player meet another Sims player,” says Lyndsay Pearson, vice president of franchise creative for the game. “They eventually admit that they’ve killed somebody.”
Because while from the outside the game may look like a cozy simulacrum of life in the ’burbs, fans flock to it for the creative freedom not only to build out their dream homes, but to build out an entire dream reality, one in which Sims may lie, cheat, steal, and, yes, be murdered to further the player’s desired storyline. And whether done intentionally by, say, removing a pool’s steps after the Sim goes for a dip, or unintentionally via a house fire or meteor strike, killing off a Sim is one of the many elements of the iconic life simulation video game that has helped it become one of the best-selling of all time.
As it celebrates its 25th anniversary on Feb. 4, Pearson and Rachel Franklin, senior vice president at Electronic Arts (EA), recently spoke with me about their careers in game development and what they see for the future of the franchise that has driven over $5 billion in revenue. And they sang the praises of the creativity within the fandom—even if it leads to a character death or two. (Full disclosure: I’ve been a player since the first Sims game for the PC and have “killed” my fair share of Sims.)
Both women are veterans of EA, the game’s publisher, and Pearson loved the game well before she started working there in 2002. In fact, she started her time at EA as a QA tester in college before moving into full time design work. Two decades later, her fingerprints are on every iteration of the game—its most recent release is The Sims 4, though there are many other expansion and game packs—and now leads its long-term creative vision. She has been behind much of players’ beloved lore, like the “What happened to Bella Goth” mystery (spoiler: she was abducted by aliens) that fans new and old obsess over.
Franklin also has decades of experience in game development, first as an engineer and now as the leader of EA’s entire lifestyle entertainment team.
Though gaming is still a male-dominated industry that has plenty of well-documented issues bringing more women into the fold, Pearson and Franklin say The Sims has always been a welcoming home to female talent. Diversity and inclusion are foundational to the game, which allows players to create avatars of themselves—whether true-to-life or dream versions—friends, and family.
“Female leadership has just been part of our DNA from the beginning,” says Pearson of working on the franchise. “We play a really important role, just in the industry, in showing a way a team can work that really builds inclusivity without even thinking about it.”
In fact, EA more broadly has implemented a strategy known as “positive play,” which focuses on creating a community in which people feel welcome while still being themselves. The Sims’ global workforce, with employees of all races, ages, and genders, helps them succeed with their mission, says Franklin.
“I’ve had many experiences where you have a member of a team say, ‘Hey, I can’t make myself in this game,’” she says. “And you need that push, you need that voice, you need somebody on the team saying, ‘Hey, we need to do better.’ That inevitably makes it better for your players.”
Pearson and Franklin promise plenty of surprises for devoted community members to celebrate a quarter century of the game. And of course, there’s The Sims live-action movie to look forward to.
For Franklin, the best part of the game is the safe space the Sims universe offers to players.
“There’s cause and effect and freedom and the ability to create, but there’s also always optimism, and always kind of a way out of the gnarly mess that you may have gotten your Sim into,” she says. While players may kill off their Sims, they can also resurrect them.

In the world of video game development, the Sims franchise has stood out as a shining example of success. With over $5 billion in revenue and a loyal fan base spanning generations, the Sims empire has become a powerhouse in the gaming industry. But what sets the Sims apart from other games is not just its financial success, but also its ability to attract and retain female talent in a field that is often dominated by men. From its inception, the Sims franchise has been inclusive and diverse, with a strong emphasis on creativity and storytelling. This has created a welcoming environment for women to thrive and excel in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Female developers, designers, writers, and artists have played integral roles in shaping the Sims universe, bringing their unique perspectives and talents to the table.
One of the keys to the Sims’ success in attracting female talent is its focus on inclusivity and representation. The game allows players to create characters and stories that reflect their own experiences, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation. This commitment to diversity has resonated with both players and developers, creating a supportive and inclusive community within the Sims team.
In addition, EA has made a concerted effort to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity within its workforce. The company has implemented programs and initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and supporting women in the gaming industry. This commitment to diversity has helped to attract and retain female talent, making the Sims team a magnet for women looking to make their mark in the world of game development.
As the Sims franchise continues to evolve and grow, it will be exciting to see how female talent continues to shape and influence the game. With its inclusive and diverse approach, the Sims empire has set a powerful example for the gaming industry as a whole, proving that success and diversity can go hand in hand.

2025 NFL mock draft 5.0: Titans take ‘generational’ talent, while QBs go 2-3 and Jets get a steal
The Super Bowl is set! The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in New Orleans … and pick last in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
If you’re not a fan of either team, you’re still in luck. Here’s how your squad can start making the climb to the big game.
Draft order via Tankathon. In this edition, Nate Tice makes the odd-numbered picks and Charles McDonald makes the even.
Previous mock drafts: 1.0 | 2.0 | 3.0 | 4.0
1. Tennessee Titans — Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
The Titans said they want a “generational” talent at the top of the draft, though Cam Ward would still make sense if they decide to move on from Will Levis. There’s also the possibility of adding more firepower to their defensive front with Abdul Carter, or a trade (a long-term right tackle would sure be nice). Really whatever adventure the Titans choose makes sense at the top of a wide open class. Hunter is a dynamic talent at cornerback, with even more to tap into. He would bring starpower to Tennessee’s defense and help bolster the offense in a small role, too. — Nate Tice
2. Cleveland Browns — Cam Ward, QB, Miami
The Browns are in a tough spot with Deshaun Watson’s contract looming large for the next few years, but they can at least give themselves an opportunity to move on at quarterback rather quickly with the selection of Ward. He’s a gunslinger and a player who will try to make the most of whatever the defense offers up — which ends up in mistakes sometimes. Still, he has the aggressive style to end up as a high quality NFL passer. — Charles McDonald
3. New York Giants — Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
The Giants get their new QB of the future, and a player who is used to pressure, attention and bright lights. While this is a tad rich for where Sanders will end up on big boards, he’s tough, competitive, has plenty of arm strength to attack all areas of the field and can really drive on throws. QB desperation is a real thing, especially in New York.
4. New England Patriots — Will Campbell, OT, LSU
New England seemingly found its quarterback in Drake Maye, who was stellar as a rookie last season. Now, the Patriots need to find serious help on the offensive line in order to make sure he has the most help possible to see his career through. Campbell is a Day 1 starter at left tackle who will be a nice building block on New England’s mission to improve the offensive line.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars — Mason Graham, DL, Michigan
With QBs and Hunter going early, the Jaguars have talented players to select from. The Jaguars, and whatever general manager will be making this pick for them, go with the explosive Graham to add some interior disruption to their front. Jacksonville has holes at other places along the roster, but Graham is a talented player who played through injuries in 2025, and would turn the Jaguars’ front into one of the league’s better ones right away.
6. Las Vegas Raiders — Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Johnson is probably the best player available at this point in the draft, bringing potential shutdown cornerback skills to a defense that desperately needs big-time talent on the outside.
7. New York Jets — Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
This would be quite the get for the Jets at No. 7. Carter has upside as a true pass rushing ace who would inject the venom back into what has been a deep unit in recent years. Carter has an explosive get-off and the bend to turn the corner on tackles. He’s still inconsistent playing the run, which means you won’t see many Carter-Will McDonald pairings on early downs, but he would keep the cupboard full of pass rushing options for Aaron Glenn and new defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
8. Carolina Panthers — Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Carolina got some quality play out of Bryce Young toward the end of the season and now need to keep building out the core. McMillan can be a tremendous No. 1 receiver for Young to grow with and would immediately create quality depth with young players like Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker.
Nate Tice and Charles McDonald’s 2025 NFL mock draft 5.0 is here. (Grant Thomas/Yahoo Sports) 9. New Orleans Saints—Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Chase Young and Payton Turner are free agents, and Cameron Jordan is on the back nine of his career. Williams’ length and tools give him one of the highest upsides of any player in this draft class. He still needs time to tap into that upside, but there were strong glimpses and stretches this season after Williams returned from an ankle injury. On a Saints franchise without a head coach and with holes and decisions to make at essentially every position, Williams will almost certainly get the playing time to hone his talent.
10. Chicago Bears — Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
The Bears need offensive line help outside of right tackle, so here’s a running mate for Darnell Wright. Simmons has a chance to be a riser during the draft process considering his skills, athleticism and upside.
11. San Francisco 49ers — Armand Membou, OG/OT, Missouri
Whether it’s a new right tackle, interior help or a Trent Williams succession plan, the 49ers’ offense could use an injection of beef. Membou is a good athlete who played tackle this past year at Missouri, but could kick inside at the next level. He has long arms that can bring some pop with his blocks. Kyle Shanahan likes to ask his linemen to move and be in space, and Membou would fit in nicely somewhere.
12. Dallas Cowboys — Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Something flashy for America’s Team. Jeanty isn’t necessarily the most important player the Cowboys need coming into the draft, but he would be a great fit for their offense and most importantly, sell jerseys.
13. Miami Dolphins— Kelvin Banks, OG/OT, Texas
Banks has been the left tackle for Texas the past several years but I think his NFL future will be best kicking inside to guard. Banks is squarely built, strong and explosive. The Dolphins have multiple guards about to hit free agency and are currently without a returning starter at either spot. Banks can fit many types of offensive attacks as a guard, and would nicely fill the huge hole on Miami’s offensive line.
14. Indianapolis Colts — Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The Colts seem to be sticking with Anthony Richardson for another year, so here’s a dynamic athlete at tight end to make his life a little easier. For his size (6-foot-6, 261 pounds), Warren is one of the most impressive athletes in the country and will open up the playbook for Colts head coach Shane Steichen.
15. Atlanta Falcons — Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
Grant is a monster in the middle whose best football is in front of him. He has excellent size (6-3, 340 pounds) and is very good against the run, but isn’t just a plugger. While the Falcons desperately need pass rushers (as has been the case for over a decade), Grant is an easy mover who can be disruptive. He needs work harnessing his tools.
16. Arizona Cardinals — Jalon Walker, Edge/LB, Georgia
Walker is the perfect player for how the Cardinals have liked playing defense. He’s an amoeba-like defender who can play a whole bunch of roles and excels as a blitzer moving fast downhill. Walker may not be a classic edge, but that’s a good fit for Arizona.
17. Cincinnati Bengals — Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
The Bengals need to address their leakiness against the run this offseason, and that begins up the spine of their defense. Nolen is another athletic defensive tackle in this class who is especially disruptive on twists and games. He still has to harness his ability to impact plays more consistently, but he can create edginess and explosive plays for a defense that desperately needs it.
18. Seattle Seahawks — Tyler Booker, OL, Alabama
Klint Kubiak’s scheme is going to run the damn ball and Seattle’s offensive line didn’t necessarily make that the easiest task this season. Booker would be an immediate starter along the line for a group that desperately needs talent.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
This has been one of my favorite pairings on these mock drafts. General manager Jason Licht does a great job of addressing current and soon-to-be holes at positions. Lavonte David is a franchise legend, but inside linebacker is looking like one of those positions in Tampa Bay. Campbell has excellent size (6-3, 244 pounds) with real two-way potential. He can get downhill in the run game, but is fluid enough to turn and run in coverage. His experience as a blitzer will also translate nicely in Todd Bowles’ defense.
20. Denver Broncos — Shemar Stewart, DL, Texas A&M
The Broncos’ defense is close to being the elite, all-round unit they wanted to be in 2024, but they just need some more help along the defensive line. Stewart has upside through the roof, but is still a little rough around the edges.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers — Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Outside of a long-term answer at QB, the Steelers desperately need another pass catcher to pair with George Pickens. Egbuka is a coach’s dream of a player: He is good at essentially every aspect of playing the receiver position, plays hard and is an excellent blocker. While the Steelers have shied away from taking receivers in the first round, Egbuka feels like a Steelers receiver with his ability to play inside and out, along with his toughness that would fit perfectly in Arthur Smith’s offense.
22. Los Angeles Chargers — Shavon Revel Jr., CB, ECU
The Chargers’ defense needs a blue-chip player at cornerback and there might not be a better option at this point than Revel. He missed all of last season with a torn ACL, but he has the prototypical size (6-3, 193 pounds) and speed to grow into a No. 1 cornerback.
23. Green Bay Packers — Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
With center Josh Myers hitting free agency, the Packers could be doing some shuffling along their offensive line, which could have them looking to adding to their line room again early in the draft. Conerly improved rapidly as the season went along, especially with his strength and ability to anchor as well as using his hands more consistently. Conerly has the length and athleticism to stay out at either tackle spot, and could give the Packers another option with pedigree to get their “best five” out there.
24. Buffalo Bills (via Minnesota Vikings) — Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
Trade! The Bills jump up to get Burden, who may be a steal at this point in the draft. The Bills could use another wide receiver to make life easier for Josh Allen and they get another quality target here.
25. Houston Texans — Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
The Texans absolutely, desperately need offensive line help. But they have invested heavily already into the position and I think stronger coaching at that position will help them get better performances in the near future. I instead address the Texans’ pass-catching group that looks more depleted after Tank Dell’s gruesome injury and Stefon Diggs’ upcoming free agency. Dalton Schultz is as solid as they come at tight end, but Loveland is even more dynamic as a pass catcher, with the ability to split out that could make for some fun synergy with star Nico Collins in a fun 1-2 punch for C.J. Stroud.
26. Los Angeles Rams — Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Golden has been a late riser over the past few months as he had a big hand in Texas’ playoff run in January. He’s got big-play ability downfield and could be a nice complement for Puka Nacua for the long haul.
27. Baltimore Ravens — Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Another safety falling to the Ravens? Starks is a versatile back-end player who would give Baltimore even more flexibility in its defensive back room. The Ravens love to rotate their players after the snap, and Starks’ ability to line up deep or in the slot would give the coaches another option to move their players around.
28. Detroit Lions — Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush. Green is a quality defender off the edge and has the makings of one of those small-school players who ends up in a great spot. Detroit needs juice along the defensive line and Green joining a healthy line would give the Lions a hellacious front.
29. Washington Commanders — James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
The Commanders’ front seven was essentially built out of their talented defensive tackles and a bunch of other guns for hire. Pearce’s pass rush-first style will actually fit well with Dan Quinn’s 120-mph-at-all-times style. He still needs to work on his consistency in impacting the game.
30. Minnesota Vikings (via Buffalo Bills) — Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
The Vikings had a great defense without many great players, particularly along the interior of the defensive line. Harmon gives Minnesota a chance to find that impact defensive tackle.
31. Philadelphia Eagles — Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
The Eagles’ offensive line factory keeps on churning. Ersery has dozens of starts under his belt at left tackle, but could be an eventual successor to Lane Johnson on the right side. Mekhi Becton has been a fun rental and project for Jeff Stoutland, but Ersery could even fill that spot if Johnson wants to hold off on his retirement for a bit longer.
32. Kansas City Chiefs — Marcus Mbow, OT/OG, Purdue
Kansas City is starting a Caliendo in the Super Bowl and it might as well be Frank. They need to spam picks along the offensive line — especially with the potential (likely?) departure of guard Trey Smith in free agency.
The 2025 NFL mock draft 5.0 is here, and it’s shaping up to be one for the ages. In this latest edition, the Tennessee Titans have landed a ‘generational’ talent with the first overall pick, while quarterbacks go 2-3 and the New York Jets manage to snag a steal later on in the first round. With the first overall pick, the Titans have selected a player who is being hailed as a once-in-a-lifetime talent. This prospect is a game-changer on both sides of the ball and is sure to make an immediate impact in the NFL.
As for the quarterbacks, teams are looking to secure their future by taking signal-callers early in the draft. The second and third picks see two highly-touted QB prospects off the board, with both players expected to compete for starting jobs right away.
But perhaps the biggest surprise of the draft comes when the Jets make their selection. Despite picking later in the first round, New York manages to land a player who many experts believe has top-10 talent. This steal could prove to be a game-changer for the Jets as they continue their rebuild.
Overall, the 2025 NFL mock draft 5.0 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting drafts in recent memory. With top talent at every position, teams are sure to find the future stars of the league in this year’s draft class. Stay tuned for more updates as the draft approaches.

Toward a Regional Federal Talent Strategy
Government, like all institutions, runs on people. We need more people with the right skills and expertise for the many critical roles that public agencies are hiring for today. Yet hiring talent in the federal government is a longstanding challenge. The next Administration should unpack hiring strategy from headquarters and launch a series of large scale, cross-agency recruitment and hiring surges throughout the country, reflecting the reality that 85% of federal employees are outside the Beltway. With a collaborative, cross-agency lens and a commitment to engaging jobseekers where they live, the government can enhance its ability to attract talent while underscoring to Americans that the federal government is not a distant authority but rather a stakeholder in their communities that offers credible opportunities to serve.
Challenge and Opportunity
The Federal Government’s hiring needs—already severe across many mission-critical occupations—are likely to remain acute as federal retirements continue, the labor market remains tight, and mission needs continue to grow. Unfortunately, federal hiring is misaligned with how most people approach job seeking. Most Americans search for employment in a geographically bounded way, a trend which has accelerated following the labor market disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic. In contrast, federal agencies tend to engage with jobseekers in a manner siloed to a single agency and across a wide variety of professions.
The result is that the federal government tends to hire agency by agency while casting a wide geographic net, which limits its ability to build deep and direct relationships with talent providers, while also duplicating searches for similar roles across agencies. Instead, the next Administration should align with jobseekers’ expectations by recruiting across agencies within each geography.
By embracing a new approach, the government can begin to develop a more coordinated cross-agency employer profile within regions with significant federal presence, while still leveraging its scale by aggregating hiring needs across agencies. This approach would build upon the important hiring reforms advanced under the Biden-Harris Administration, including cross-agency pooled hiring, renewed attention to hiring experience for jobseekers, and new investments to unlock the federal government’s regional presence through elevation of the Federal Executive Board (FEB) program. FEBs are cross-agency councils of senior appointees and civil servants in regions of significant federal presence across the country. They are empowered to identify areas for cross-agency cooperation and are singularly positioned to collaborate to pool talent needs and represent the federal government in communities across the country.
Plan of Action
The next Administration should embrace a cross-agency, regionally-focused recruitment strategy and bring federal career opportunities closer to Americans through a series of 2-3 large scale, cross-agency recruitment and hiring pilots in geographies outside of Washington, DC. To be effective, this effort will need both sponsorship from senior leaders at the center of government, as well as ownership from frontline leaders who can build relationships on the ground.
Recommendation 1. Provide Strategic Direction from the Center of Government
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) should launch a small team, composed of leaders in recruitment, personnel policy and workforce data, to identify promising localities for coordinated regional hiring surges. They should leverage centralized workforce data or data from Human Capital Operating Plan workforce plans to identify prospective hiring needs by government-wide and agency-specific mission-critical occupations (MCOs) by FEB region, while ensuring that agency and sub-agency workforce plans consistently specify where hiring will occur in the future. They might also consider seasonal or cyclical cross-agency hiring needs for inclusion in the pilot to facilitate year-to-year experimentation and analysis. With this information, they should engage the FEB Center of Operations and jointly select 2-3 FEB regions outside of the capital where there are significant overlapping needs in MCOs.
As this pilot moves forward, it is imperative that OMB and OPM empower on-the-ground federal leaders to drive surge hiring and equip them with flexible hiring authorities where needed.
Recommendation 2. Empower Frontline Leadership from the FEBs
FEB field staff are well positioned to play a coordinating role to help drive surges, starting by convening agency leadership in their regions to validate hiring needs and make amendments as necessary. Together, they should set a reasonable, measurable goal for surge hiring in the coming year that reflects both total need and headline MCOs (e.g., “in the next 12 months, federal agencies in greater Columbus will hire 750 new employees, including 75 HR Specialists, 45 Data Scientists, and 110 Engineers”).
To begin to develop a regional talent strategy, the FEB should form a small task force drawn from standout hiring managers and HR professionals, and then begin to develop a stakeholder map of key educational institutions and civic partners with access to talent pools in the region, sharing existing relationships and building new ones. The FEB should bring these external partners together to socialize shared needs and listen to their impressions of federal career opportunities in the region.
With these insights, the project team should announce publicly the number and types of roles needed and prepare sharp public-facing collateral that foregrounds headline MCOs and raises the profile of local federal agencies. In support, OPM should launch regional USAJOBS skins (e.g., “Columbus.USAJOBS.gov”) to make it easy to explore available positions. The team should make sustained, targeted outreach at local educational institutions aligned with hiring needs, so all federal agencies are on graduates’ and administrators’ radar.
These activities should build toward one or more signature large, in-person, cross-agency recruitment and hiring fairs, perhaps headlined by a high profile Administration leader. Candidates should be able to come to an event, learn what it means to hold a job in their discipline in federal service, and apply live for roles at multiple agencies, all while exploring what else the federal government has to offer and building tangible relationships with federal recruiters. Ahead of the event, the project team should work with agencies to align their hiring cycles so the maximum number of jobs are open at the time of the event, potentially launching a pooled hiring action to coincide. The project team should capture all interested jobseekers from the event to seed the new Talent Campaigns function in USAStaffing that enables agencies to bucket tranches of qualified jobseekers for future sourcing.
Recommendation 3. Replicate and Celebrate
Following each regional surge, the center of government and frontline teams should collaborate to distill key learnings and conclude the sprint engagement by developing a playbook for regional recruitment surges. Especially successful surges will also present an opportunity to spotlight excellence in recruitment and hiring, which is rarely celebrated.
The center of government team should also identify geographies with effective relationships between agencies and talent providers for key roles and leverage the growing use of remote work and location negotiable positions to site certain roles in “friendly” labor markets.
Conclusion
Regional, cross-agency hiring surges are an opportunity for federal agencies to fill high-need roles across the country in a manner that is proactive and collaborative, rather than responsive and competitive. They would aim to facilitate a new level of information sharing between the frontline and the center of government, and inform agency strategic planning efforts, allowing headquarters to better understand the realities of recruitment and hiring on the ground. They would enable OPM and OMB to reach, engage, and empower frontline HR specialists and hiring managers who are sufficiently numerous and fragmented that they are difficult to reach in the present course of business.
Finally, engaging regionally will emphasize that most of the federal workforce resides outside of Washington, D.C., and build understanding and respect for the work of federal public servants in communities across the nation.
This action-ready policy memo is part of Day One 2025 — our effort to bring forward bold policy ideas, grounded in science and evidence, that can tackle the country’s biggest challenges and bring us closer to the prosperous, equitable and safe future that we all hope for whoever takes office in 2025 and beyond.
In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing global economy, it is more important than ever for regions to develop a comprehensive talent strategy that will attract, retain, and develop top talent. A regional federal talent strategy is crucial in order to compete on a national and international level. One key aspect of a regional federal talent strategy is collaboration between government, industry, and educational institutions. By working together, these stakeholders can identify the specific skills and competencies needed in the region and develop targeted programs to train and develop talent.
Another important component of a regional federal talent strategy is investing in education and training programs that will equip individuals with the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. This may include expanding access to higher education, providing support for lifelong learning, and promoting apprenticeship and internship programs.
Additionally, regions must focus on creating an inclusive and diverse talent pipeline. By ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background or circumstances, have access to education and training opportunities, regions can tap into a wider pool of talent and drive innovation and growth.
In conclusion, developing a regional federal talent strategy is essential for regions to thrive in today’s competitive economy. By collaborating with key stakeholders, investing in education and training, and promoting diversity and inclusion, regions can attract and retain top talent and position themselves for long-term success.

Gasperini promises full UCL debut to Italy U19 talent: ‘He can be a nice surprise’
Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed that Italy U19 talent Marco Palestra is set to earn his full Champions League debut when Atalanta take on Sturm Graz in the Champions League on Tuesday night, which he feels ‘can be a nice surprise’ for the supporters.
Atalanta are currently in 13th place in the Champions League standings after six matches, but could secure their position in the play-off round with a victory against the Austrian outfit on Tuesday night.
“It’s a Champions League game, we haven’t secured qualification yet, tomorrow could be a decisive day,” Gasperini said during his pre-match press conference on Monday evening, reported via TMW.
Gasperini: Atalanta ‘must keep concentration’ in ‘difficult’ Sturm Graz match

This will not be the first time the two sides have met in recent years.
“Last year we played two balanced games, we won 1-0 at home, but we’ve changed some players since then,” Gasperini added. “They are a team who are in first place in their country, these are all very balanced games. They have only picked up three points, but they have lost narrowly in all the games they’ve played.”
“I expected a fresh team, one that wants to play after a little period of inactivity. We have to be careful, keep our concentration and attention, we know it will be difficult. We can’t make mistakes, gaining qualification is not done yet.”

Gasperini confirmed that Nicolo Zaniolo will not be involved for Atalanta on Tuesday night, but insisted that the set-back is nothing serious and nothing to worry about.
“He’s had a bit of discomfort. It’s nothing serious, he won’t play tomorrow, but we’ll see afterwards,” he said.
Gasp was also full of praise for goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi, who joined him for the pre-match press conferences.
“He has always been a young guy with good prospects. I think he has also matured as a person, with great humility, even in good moments like now. He always has a desire to improve.”
There was also a mini-update on Mateo Retegui and Juan Cuadrado: “Mateo’s numbers speak for themselves. He had a little stop, but he came back and was immediately decisive. Cuadrado was close to playing a bit more consistently, unfortunately he also suffered a bit of a set-back.”
And then came the confirmation that Palestra will play as a starter in the Champions League for the first time.
The 19-year-old played for 15 minutes off the bench against Young Boys earlier in the campaign and also earned his full senior debut in the 6-1 Coppa Italia victory over Cesena earlier in the season. Otherwise, he has only ever appeared off the bench for La Dea thus far.
“Tomorrow I will definitely play Palestra, I think the time has come to launch him in an important game. I think this guy can be a nice surprise.”
Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has promised a full UEFA Champions League debut to Italy U19 talent in an upcoming match. Gasperini believes that the young player has the potential to be a “nice surprise” in the prestigious competition. The promising youngster has been impressing Gasperini with his performances in training and in recent youth matches. Gasperini sees this as the perfect opportunity to give the young talent a chance to shine on the big stage and gain valuable experience.
Gasperini’s decision to give the young player a full UCL debut shows his trust and confidence in the player’s abilities. It also highlights Atalanta’s commitment to nurturing young talent and giving them opportunities to develop and grow within the club.
Fans will be eagerly anticipating the debut of this exciting Italy U19 talent and will be looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team in their upcoming Champions League match. Gasperini’s promise is a testament to the club’s belief in the young player’s potential, and it will be exciting to see how he performs on the European stage.

Tommy Brown, a Teenage Talent for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Dies at 97
Tommy Brown, who became the youngest position player in modern major-league baseball when he made his debut as a shortstop for the Brooklyn Dodgers in August 1944 at the age of 16, died on Wednesday in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was 97.
His daughter Pamela Brown Leon said the cause was complications of a recent fall at a rehabilitation center near where he lived in Altamonte Springs, north of Orlando.
In the spring of 1943, Brown was among some 3,000 teenagers attending a Brooklyn Dodgers tryout camp at the Parade Ground, the baseball complex at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. The Dodgers signed him to their farm system at the outset of the following season.
On Aug. 3, 1944, newly called up by the Dodgers from their farm team in Newport News, Va., Brown made his major league debut playing shortstop in a doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs at Ebbets Field, the Dodgers’ home stadium.
Playing in both games, Brown had a double and a single but let a ground ball go through his legs, and his tosses in infield warm-ups went sailing beyond the reach of the Dodgers’ 6-foot-6 first baseman, Howie Schultz, who was known as Steeple.
Though he was nervous on that long August afternoon, Brown entered the baseball record books, and remained there.
“For a time I was one of their starters, and about the most I knew about baseball was that the ball was round,” he told The Los Angeles Times long afterward, recalling his early Dodger years.
Brown joined the Dodgers at a time when many major leaguers had entered the military during World War II, compelling teams to find replacement players. Brown was a fill-in for the future Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese, who was away playing shortstop for Navy teams.
At his death, Brown also held the record as the youngest player to hit a major-league home run. He was 17 years, 8 months and 14 days old when he connected on Aug. 20, 1945, off the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Preacher Roe, who was later a leading starter in the Dodgers’ rotation.
Brown was also the last surviving member of the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers team, on which Jackie Robinson debuted, integrating Major League Baseball.
Brown had a batting average of only .164 and committed 16 errors while playing regularly at shortstop in the last two months of the 1944 season. Manager Leo Durocher called him Buckshot for his spraying throws.
But Brown went on to a nine-year career in the major leagues, mostly with the Dodgers. He was usually a backup but played every position except for catcher.
Thomas Michael Brown was born on Dec. 6, 1927, in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. He quit school at age 12 to work on the Brooklyn docks with an uncle.
Brown was hitting .297 when he was summoned from Newport News, where he was playing for Manager Jake Pitler, who was later the Dodgers’ first-base coach.
“Pitler called me in and told me to pack my things, that Durocher wanted me to play shortstop for his Dodgers,” Brown recalled in an interview for the Society for American Baseball Research. “I said, ‘No, I don’t want to go.’ I told him to let me finish out the year. I was hitting well and learning a great deal. But he said, ‘No, you’ve got to leave right now.’
“I rode that train all night,” he continued, “and I walked into the clubhouse and told them I just got off the train. Durocher said he didn’t care, that we were playing a doubleheader and I was playing.”
Brown’s debut, when he was 16 years and 241 days old, came two months after Joe Nuxhall, a left-handed pitcher from Hamilton, Ohio, became the youngest modern major leaguer when he pitched in a game for the Cincinnati Reds at age 15 years and 10 months.
Brown shared the Dodgers shortstop job in 1945 with Eddie Basinski, another of the wartime hopefuls, who was acclaimed more for his excellence in playing the violin. After spending the first post-war season in the Army, Brown returned to the Dodgers.
He didn’t hit for much of an average. But the right-handed-batting Brown, at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds — a good size for an infielder of his era — did have some power, connecting for three home runs in September 1950 in a game at Ebbets Field against the Cubs. He led the National League in pinch-hits with seven that season.
But with Reese back at shortstop, and Billy Cox, a brilliant fielder, at third base, and with Duke Snider and Carl Furillo holding two spots in the outfield, where Brown played at times, there wasn’t much room for him in the lineup.
He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in June 1951. They sent him to the Cubs in June 1952, and he hit .320 for them in 61 games during the second half of the season. But he tailed off in 1953 and was returned to the minors. He retired at age 31, never having made it back to the majors.
Brown settled in Nashville after his playing years, having spent some minor league seasons with the Nashville Vols of the Southern Association. He worked at a Ford glass factory for many years, then moved to Florida.
In addition to his daughter Ms. Leon, his survivors include his wife, Charlene; two other daughters, Paula and Michele; and a son, Bill.
Brown had a career batting average of .241 with 31 home runs.
Though his bat had some pop, he missed out on a customary reward for sluggers from a Dodgers sponsor of the 1940s, Old Gold cigarettes.
“We called homers ‘Old Goldies,’” the Dodgers broadcaster Red Barber once remembered. “We’d roll a carton of Old Golds down the screen whenever any ballplayer hit a home run. There was a hole in the screen and the batboy grabbed them for the player. When Tommy Brown hit one, Durocher said, ‘Give me the cigarettes, he’s too young to smoke.’”
Hank Sanders contributed reporting. Sheelagh McNeill contributed research.
We are saddened to share the news that Tommy Brown, a teenage talent for the Brooklyn Dodgers, has passed away at the age of 97. Brown made his Major League Baseball debut with the Dodgers in 1944 at the young age of 16, making him the youngest player to ever play in a MLB game at the time.Despite his youth, Brown quickly made a name for himself as a skilled infielder and a promising hitter. He played for the Dodgers for six seasons before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1951. Throughout his career, Brown was known for his quick reflexes, strong arm, and ability to hit for power.
After retiring from baseball, Brown remained involved in the sport as a coach and scout. He was beloved by fans and teammates alike for his passion for the game and his humble attitude.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Tommy Brown’s family and friends during this difficult time. He will always be remembered for his contributions to the game of baseball and the legacy he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Tommy Brown.

#Tommy #Brown #Teenage #Talent #Brooklyn #Dodgers #Dies‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ Climbs Netflix’s Streaming Chart
Released in 2022, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was one of the riskier Hollywood projects to hit theaters after the pandemic wreaked havoc across the industry. The film featured Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal in a story that parodied the real-life Face/Off actor and paid homage to his lengthy filmography while poking fun, too. Unfortunately, it proved to be a box office flop, barely making back most of its $30 million budget with a $29 million worldwide box office gross. However, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent turned out to be a great comedy with more than enough to warrant a viewing, and it’s making big waves on streaming this year.
Per Flix Patrol, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent reached the number four spot on Netflix’s Top 10 streaming titles on the platform on Friday. Netflix is known for revitalizing films that otherwise went unnoticed during their theatrical run, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is no exception. Moreover, critics and audiences universally loved the Cage-centric comedy, with both camps giving it an 87% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes upon its theatrical release.
In addition to Cage and Pascal, the cast of The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent includes Sharon Horgan, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Lily Sheen, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish. The film was directed by Tom Gormican (That Awkward Moment) based on a script from him and frequent collaborator Kevin Etten (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), who are teaming up again for the upcoming Anaconda reboot starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black. Check out the official synopsis for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent:
“Nicolas Cage stars as… Nick Cage in the action-comedy ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.’ Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nick Cage.”
A Hilarious and Heartfelt Action Comedy All About Nicolas Cage
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent could have easily been too meta for its own good. It’s a meta-comedy that often references Nicolas Cage’s past films, especially Face/Off and other beloved classics. The film is filled with Easter eggs, and much of its thematic weight rests on the audience being familiar with Cage’s work. However, it’s hard to argue against how The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent balances being a Cage-fest while managing to be an entertaining action comedy featuring another superstar in the making, Pedro Pascal.

Long-Awaited Sequel to One of Nicolas Cage’s Best Movies Finally Gets Promising Update
‘John Wick 4’ star Bill Skarsgård will join Nicolas Cage in the follow-up.
For most of its runtime, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent feels like an alternate timeline where Cage lost his touch at his late age (not the case in real life if you ask us) and constantly looks back at the peak of his career as a young, successful actor. There is an inherent earnestness to having Cage reflect on his filmography in such a goofy and surreal fashion, as well as reckon with the reality of an aging actor who continues to have a diehard fanbase. At some point, it seems the film would have been radically different if Cage had not signed up for it, but we’re very glad he did.

“The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” Climbs Netflix’s Streaming ChartNicolas Cage’s latest film, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” is taking Netflix by storm as it climbs the streaming chart. The movie, which sees Cage playing a fictionalized version of himself, has been met with critical acclaim and has quickly become a fan favorite.
The film follows Cage as he is offered a hefty sum of money to attend a wealthy fan’s birthday party. However, things take a turn when Cage is recruited by the CIA to help take down a drug cartel. As his real-life persona begins to merge with his on-screen character, chaos ensues in this action-packed comedy.
With Cage’s signature over-the-top performance and self-aware humor, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” has become a must-watch for fans of the actor. Its unique premise and entertaining storyline have made it a hit on Netflix, with viewers flocking to see Cage’s larger-than-life portrayal of himself.
If you’re looking for a fun and entertaining movie to watch, be sure to check out “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” on Netflix. You won’t be disappointed by Cage’s hilarious and captivating performance in this one-of-a-kind film.

Conceicao ‘asking for something different’ from Milan talent in new 2025 era
epa11804138 AC Milan’s head coach Sergio Conceicao gestures during the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final match between Juventus FC and AC Milan, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 03 January 2025. EPA-EFE/STR
Sergio Conceicao explains he wants ‘something different’ from Tammy Abraham and Ismael Bennacer at Milan, but sees a ‘fantastic future’ for Kenan Yildiz at Juventus.
The two sides go head-to-head this evening at 17.00 GMT.
Christian Pulisic is ruled out through injury, along with Malick Thiaw, Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Noah Okafor and Alessandro Florenzi, plus suspended Alvaro Morata.
That inevitably forces changes and limits the options available to the new coach.
“We have faith in all the players, so if Pulisic is not there, someone else will be,” Conceicao told DAZN.
“There is no single player that decides a match, there is a dynamic collective where everyone is important.”
It has been said that Morata is less a centre-forward and more a support striker, so does having Abraham upfront change things for Milan?
“Everyone is waiting for the goals from strikers, but the work that Abraham does is very important for me as a coach. He works so hard for the team, creates opportunities, against Como he provided a great assist for Rafa Leao, dropped deep to pick up the ball.
“The goals will come, because he is someone who knows how to put the ball in the net.”
Bennacer and Milan still adapting to Conceicao

(Photo by Abdullah Ahmed/Getty Images) Conceicao confirmed in a pre-match press conference that Bennacer will start, although the midfielder has struggled so far to deliver what the new coach is looking for.
“He was out for four months, so he is missing match fitness, but his intelligence allows him to play alongside anyone. My job is to find the best position for everyone. I am asking him for something different to what he is accustomed to, to be more vertical in his passing, but there will be time to get the message and I hope the final result will be positive.”
The comeback 2-1 victory over Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final was Conceicao’s debut on the Milan bench, going on to lift the trophy after beating Inter 3-2 in stoppages.
With Dusan Vlahovic not fully fit, the focus of the Juve attack will be Turkish talent Kenan Yildiz, who some have compared to Rafael Leao.
“Yildiz and Leao are both great talents, but they are different,” said the coach.
“I really like Yildiz, these are talents who put themselves to work for the team and can decide a match from one moment to the next. However, if a team is not already strong and solid, you will have trouble letting this individual talent emerge.
“I see a fantastic future for them both.”
In the new 2025 era, AC Milan’s manager Conceicao is asking for something different from the talent at the club. With a fresh approach and a new mindset, Conceicao is pushing his players to think outside the box and strive for greatness.Gone are the days of playing it safe and sticking to the status quo. Conceicao is encouraging his players to take risks, try new tactics, and push themselves to new limits. He wants them to be bold, creative, and innovative on the field.
Conceicao is looking for players who are willing to break the mold and challenge the traditional norms of football. He wants them to be fearless in their approach and unafraid to try something different.
With Conceicao at the helm, AC Milan is entering a new era of excitement and innovation. The players are ready to embrace the challenge and show the world what they are truly capable of. It’s time to shake things up and make a statement in the football world. Let’s see what the future holds for AC Milan under Conceicao’s leadership.

Report: Man City move closer to landing top talent from Bundesliga
Manchester City are edging closer to securing the services of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush. According to BBC Sport, a verbal agreement has been reached between the clubs, although the deal is not yet finalised.
The 25-year-old Egypt international has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga, netting 15 goals this season. Marmoush’s arrival would add significant firepower to City’s already potent attack. Having joined Eintracht on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in 2023, the forward’s rapid rise has caught the attention of Europe’s elite clubs.
City’s transfer activity doesn’t stop with Marmoush. Brazilian teenage defender Vitor Reis is reportedly en route to Manchester for a medical, paving the way for his move from Palmeiras.
Meanwhile, discussions around Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso remain in the early stages. While reports from Italy suggest progress, City sources indicate that a deal this month is far from guaranteed. Cambiaso, 24, has delivered two goals and two assists in 25 appearances this season.
Additionally, the club’s deal for Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov remains unconfirmed. City have agreed a £33.6 million fee with Lens for the 20-year-old, further underlining their commitment to strengthening the squad’s defensive depth.
Marmoush’s potential arrival is an exciting prospect. With 15 Bundesliga goals, he has demonstrated a sharpness in front of goal that could complement City’s fluid attacking style. Fans will be eager to see how Pep Guardiola integrates him into a system already brimming with world-class talent.
Equally intriguing is the club’s focus on young defensive talent. The imminent arrival of Vitor Reis and the potential addition of Cambiaso or Khusanov signal City’s intent to build for the future. Each move appears meticulously planned to maintain the club’s dominance while fostering long-term sustainability.
Marmoush, in particular, offers versatility. His ability to operate across the forward line aligns perfectly with Guardiola’s tactical fluidity. For fans, these signings underscore the club’s ambition and relentless pursuit of excellence. The buzz around these transfers reflects a broader confidence in City’s ability to remain at the pinnacle of football.
In a major development in the transfer market, Manchester City are reportedly edging closer to securing a deal for a top talent from the Bundesliga. The Premier League champions have been linked with a number of players from the German top-flight in recent weeks, and it appears that they are now close to landing their primary target.According to reports, City have been in advanced talks with the player’s club and a deal could be finalized in the coming days. The player in question is said to be highly rated in Germany and has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe.
City’s pursuit of the Bundesliga star is seen as a statement of intent from the club, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The player is believed to be a versatile and dynamic talent who could add a new dimension to City’s already star-studded squad.
If the deal goes through, it would undoubtedly be a major coup for City and a significant boost to their title hopes for the upcoming season. Fans will be eagerly awaiting official confirmation of the transfer as the club looks to secure the services of this exciting Bundesliga talent. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
