FaZe Banks slams Hawk Tuah girl’s team after leaked podcast sparks crypto controversy
Haliey Welch, known as the “Hawk Tuah” girl, has landed in fresh controversy after a leaked podcast episode reignited scrutiny over her failed meme coin, $HAWK.
The episode, which featured FaZe Clan co-founder Richard “FaZe Banks” Bengtson, was uploaded prematurely before being quickly removed—but not before screenshots and clips circulated online.
Welch, who went viral in 2024 before launching her controversial Solana-based crypto token in December, had been silent since its collapse. The project immediately faced backlash from crypto analysts like Coffeezilla and Banks, who called it a “mismanaged scam.” Banks had previously urged Welch to fire her team over the coin’s disastrous rollout.
Banks took to X (formerly Twitter) on February 6, 2025, slamming Welch’s team for the premature leak, which led to a spike in $HAWK’s trading volume. He revealed that he had agreed to appear on her Talk Tuah podcast under strict conditions, including preventing market manipulation and establishing a clear resolution for the token’s mismanagement.
So in an attempt to hear Haliey Welch’s side of the Crypto scam story, I agreed to do her first podcast back.

“Now today, the episode ‘randomly’ gets leaked. The price of $HAWK is pumping, and they completely fumbled the bag, yet again,” Banks wrote, accusing Welch’s team of insider trading and mishandling the situation.
Welch has yet to issue a statement on the podcast leak, and the episode remains absent from her YouTube channel. With renewed scrutiny on her crypto dealings, the controversy surrounding Welch and her failed meme coin shows no signs of slowing down.

After scoring a brace in the Whites’ thumping 7-0 victory over Cardiff City last weekend, Joel Piroe opened the scoring against Coventry before Jayden Bogle added a second just before the half-hour mark to send the South Yorkshire side five points clear at the top of the Championship table.
Daniel Farke was complementary of his side’s “top-class performance”, but he has encouraged his players to be “much more efficient” and was critical of their “cutting edge” in the final third against Coventry, something that he believes could prove costly against strong opponents.
Leeds will soon face a challenging run of Championship fixtures against Watford, Sunderland, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion, but they must first turn their attention to the FA Cup as they endeavour to reach the fifth round for the third successive season.

Farke has confirmed that he will “probably rotate on a few more than just one or two positions” this weekend, so key players including Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka, Daniel James and Piroe may all begin as substitutes or be rested entirely.
Karl Darlow, Josuha Guilavogui, Pascal Struijk, Sam Byram, Joe Rothwell, Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph and Largie Ramazani were among those who started in the third-round win over Harrogate, the latter of whom scored the only goal in that game, and they will be hoping to force their way back into the first XI on Saturday.
As for Millwall, Femi Azeez has stepped up his return from injury and has returned to training, while Neil has also confirmed that Josh Coburn is back on the grass. Whether either player makes an appearance in the matchday squad remains to be seen, though.

Northeastern, which has created a Beanpot dynasty while winning five of the past six tournaments, faces a tough test at 8 p.m. Monday against the top-ranked Eagles.

Now the Huskies are seeking to add to that legend by pursuing a third straight title at the expense of the top team in the country.
Northeastern takes on No. 1 Boston College at 8 p.m. Monday at TD Garden (televised by NESN and streaming on ESPN+).
The talented Eagles (19-4-1), having retained many of the stars who drove them to the NCAA final last season, are led by Hobey Baker player-of-the-year candidates Ryan Leonard (22 goals) and Gabe Perreault (32 points), as well as Jacob Fowler, who is arguably the best goaltender in the nation.
The Huskies (9-12-3) have spent much of this season working 15 new players into the program. That investment yielded a recent streak of five wins in six games that gives Northeastern hope of maintaining its run of success at the Beanpot.
Feeding that optimism are two juniors who have never experienced a loss at the Beanpot — team captain Jack Williams (12 goals and 29 points) and assistant captain Cam Lund (11 goals and 26 points). They also happen to be the team’s most productive forwards.
“There’s so much hype and pressure that goes into it,” says Northeastern coach Jerry Keefe, who is 5-1 at the Beanpot. “You’ve got to know how to win pressure games, tight games. You look at last year, we won two overtime games — and the year before we went to a shootout (to win the 2023 Beanpot).
“So the experience part is huge. And I think once you win one, you get the taste of it, it makes you even hungrier to win more,” Keefe adds.
Williams grew up in Biddeford, Maine, with the dream of representing Northeastern at the Beanpot.
“It was a lifelong goal coming to the school,” says Williams, who attended multiple Beanpots before hoisting the trophy on the TD Garden ice the past two years. “The team is able to get up for big-time games. We’ve had great success in this tournament and we’re looking to keep that rolling this year.”

“It’s a challenge every year in this tournament, right?” Keefe says. “They’re obviously very good in transition. We’ve got to make sure that we manage the puck really well, and we’re going to have to bear down on our chances because they’ve got a very good goaltender.
“So it’s going to take a great effort — but that’s what you need in these games. If you’re going to win, you’ve got to play your best and that’s what we’re going to have to do against them,” he continues.
Williams’ partnership with Lund will be crucial. The two friends have devoted a lot of practice time to learning how to complement each other.
“We play so well together and it starts off the ice,” says Williams, a 5-foot-11-inch forward. “We spend so much time together. So there’s nothing that I don’t feel I can say to him at any moment, and I think it’s the same [from] him to me. We can keep each other accountable while trying to be the best players that we can be.”
The 6-foot-2 Lund has spent the past three summers at the development camps of the San Jose Sharks, who picked him in the second round (No. 34 overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
“My defensive zone is something I’ve tried to take a lot of pride in since I’ve gotten to college,” says Lund, who grew up watching the Beanpot in his hometown of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, an hour south of Northeastern’s Boston campus. “The older guys, we lead by example and I think all the guys buy into it.”
The Huskies had a deep, seasoned rotation when they beat Harvard to win the 2023 title. Last year as underdogs they knocked off No. 3 Boston University.
Getting a full team effort against BC will be crucial for the Huskies, who have been seeking consistency all season.
“When things aren’t going right and things are tough — and there’s been a lot of those moments, especially this year for us — it’s about going back to the basics of the game,” Williams says. “Just having fun with it, being a kid, remembering why you play. It’s the love of the game that’s always driven me to keep getting better.”
If they need that little bit of extra motivation, the Huskies will be counting on the DogHouse to deliver it.
“The Northeastern fans are unreal,” Lund says. “We have the best fans out of all the teams, so having them behind us definitely helps us. We really appreciate them.”

In spite of suffering their first continental loss of the season, Lazio still topped the table and swept straight through to the last 16 without needing a playoff.
With four weeks to go until a Coppa Italia quarter-final against Inter Milan, swiftly followed by their return to Europe, the Rome club can now concentrate fully on the league.

This week: at Ohio State (Feb. 6), vs. Rutgers (Feb. 9)Maryland is legit. Head coach Kevin Willard‘s crew proved it could win on the road with victories over Illinois and Indiana, then took care of business at home last week, beating Wisconsin 76-68.
Guard play can carry a team down the stretch, and Maryland has good ones, highlighted by Ja’Kobi Gillespie, who’s ascending just as his team is. Don’t sleep on big men Julian Reese and Derik Queen, either. Right now, the Terrapins have a look of a team that knows exactly what it is, and that can take them a long way.
5. Wisconsin (17-5 overall, 7-4 Big Ten)

This week: vs. Indiana (Feb. 4), at Iowa (Feb. 8)Wisconsin was in danger of losing Saturday at Northwestern, trailing in the middle of the second half. That would’ve been two-straight setbacks, since they lost at Maryland earlier in the week, but they gutted it out led by a 27-point performance from wing John Tonje, who made 5 threes. The Badgers swap places with Maryland.
6. UCLA (16-6 overall, 7-4 Big Ten)

Last week: at USC (W, 82-76), vs. Oregon (W, 78-52)
This week: vs. Michigan State (Feb. 4), vs. Penn State (Feb. 8)The lighter schedule has had something to do with UCLA’s five-game win streak, but there’s no question Mick Cronin‘s team is playing better after he called them out publicly early last month.
Since Jan. 17, when the win streak started, UCLA has been the third-most efficient team in the country, according to Bart Torvik’s T-Rank, including ranking No. 1 in the nation in offense. The Bruins have really found something with 7-foot-3 Spanish big man Aday Mara, who’s playing more minutes and has scored in double figures three of the last four games.
UCLA fended off USC across town and then dominated Oregon Thursday night. The Bruins bludgeoned the Ducks on the interior and made 11 threes — a deadly combo.
7. Illinois (15-7 overall, 7-5 Big Ten)
Previous ranking: 6th (-1)
Last week: at Nebraska (L, 80-74 in OT), vs. Ohio State (W, 87-79)
This week: at Rutgers (Feb. 5), at Minnesota (Feb. 8)Illinois is the second-highest ranked seven-loss team in America on Kenpom, and it’s still in a bit of a funk. The Fighting Illini are 3-4 in their last seven games, with part of the reason being health. They’ve dealt with illnesses over the last couple weeks.
Starting center Tomislav Ivisic (mono) finally returned to the lineup for Sunday’s win over Ohio State, but the team had already fallen to Nebraska in overtime earlier in the week. They couldn’t get anything going on the inside — instead taking 42 three-pointers — in a loss in Lincoln.
8. USC (13-8 overall, 5-5 Big Ten)
Previous ranking: 9th (+1)
Last week: vs. UCLA (L, 82-76), vs. Michigan State (W, 70-64)
This week: at Northwestern (Feb. 4), at Purdue (Feb. 7)USC is 2-2 in its last four games, but it’s clearly a team on the ascent. The Trojans have found their identity as a tough shot-making and defensive rebounding team — and they just collected their biggest win yet.
The Trojans impressively beat Michigan State, 70-64, Saturday in Los Angeles, handing the Spartans their first Big Ten loss of the season. They exposed MSU’s inability to hit three-point shots by sagging off multiple players and packing the paint, risks that paid off.
9. Oregon (16-6 overall, 5-6 Big Ten)
Previous ranking: 8th (-1)
Last week: at UCLA (L, 78-52), vs. Nebraska (L, 77-71)
This week: at Michigan (Feb. 5), at Michigan State (Feb. 8)Oregon is in a rut, having three in a row and four of its last five games, before a tough road trip where it’ll play Michigan and Michigan State. The Ducks led for just over one minute of game time during the three-game skid.
Oregon started out 9-0 but is 7-5 since. Something is just off in Eugene.
They’ve struggled on the defensive end lately, allowing over 1.1 points per possession in each of the last three games. They’re not playing with confidence anymore, which is less than ideal with what’s ahead.
10. Ohio State (13-9 overall, 5-6 Big Ten)

Last week: vs. Iowa (W, 82-65), at Penn State (W, 83-64), at Illinois (L, 87-79)
this week: vs. Maryland (Feb. 6), at Nebraska (Feb. 9)Ohio State was on a three-game winning streak before getting outhustled and outmuscled in the final 10 or so minutes of an 87-79 loss at Illinois Sunday afternoon. The Buckeyes have some quality wins under their belt, including over Kentucky and Purdue, but have been very up and down all year.
11. Nebraska (13-8 overall, 4-7 Big Ten)

Last week: vs. Illinois (W, 80-74 in OT), at Oregon (W, 77-71)
This week: at Washington (Feb. 5), vs. Ohio State (Feb. 9)There’s not much separation between the bottom eight teams in the Big Ten, allowing Nebraska to shoot up to No. 11 with an incredible week. The Cornhuskers beat Illinois and won at Oregon, looking like a completely different team than we saw just weeks ago.
Sixth-year senior guard Brice Williams is putting together one of those seasons, carrying Nebraska in critical moments. He should be up for Big Ten Player of the Week honors, scoring 27 at Illinois and 28 versus Oregon. He’s a bucket, with eight games scoring 25-plus points this year.
12. Northwestern (12-10 overall, 3-8 Big Ten)
Previous ranking: 12th (—)
Last week: vs. Rutgers (L, 79-72), vs. Wisconsin (L, 75-69)
This week: vs. USC (Feb. 4), at Washington (Feb. 8)Northwestern is on a three-game losing streak and has lost seven of its last nine contests. The Wildcats have had a tough schedule, so we’ll see if they can grab a couple wins as it lightens up a bit over the next few weeks.
13. Indiana (14-8 overall, 5-6 Big Ten)

This week: at Wisconsin (Feb. 4), vs. Michigan (Feb. 8)Indiana led for 17:14 of game time at Purdue and was right in it until the end, holding a one-point advantage with just over 10 seconds remaining, but couldn’t quite hang on in a tough environment at Mackey.
The next couple weeks will tell us if Indiana is in a free fall or they can actually salvage things and become a bubble team. They have an incredibly difficult slate coming up, against the following opponents: Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA and Purdue.
14. Rutgers (11-11 overall, 4-7 Big Ten)

Last week: at Northwestern (W, 79-72), vs. Michigan (L, 66-63)
This week: vs. Illinois (Feb. 5), at Maryland (Feb. 9)No Dylan Harper, no problem for Rutgers Wednesday night at Northwestern. Fellow five-star freshman Ace Bailey dropped 37 points, and his surrounding cast shot better than 50 percent from the field. But Saturday against Michigan, Bailey shot 3-of-15 from the field and the rest of the Scarlet Knights didn’t make enough shots.
Rutgers is a tough out, but nothing more than that at the moment. Getting Harper (ankle) healthy is paramount, otherwise Bailey is going to have to do everything on the offensive end.
15. Penn State (13-9 overall, 3-8 Big Ten)
Previous ranking: 14th (-1)
Last week: at Michigan (L, 76-72), vs. Ohio State (L, 83-64)
This week: vs. Minnesota (Feb. 4), at UCLA (Feb. 8)Penn State nearly knocked off Michigan at Crisler but lost a late lead. Then it went home and played Ohio State at the old Rec Hall. Neither the environment at the 6,502-seat alternative home gym nor the team had any juice that night, and the Buckeyes ran them out of it. Penn State couldn’t get a stop or a rebound.

The quarterback also has a great arm and throws with accuracy.
If Seattle doesn’t want Smith around long-term, there is likely another team willing to take a chance on him. There is no guarantee, though, that should Seattle entertain a trade for Smith another team would give much back in return for the quarterback. There are several reasons for this, including the fact Smith could hit free agency after the 2025 season.
Could a trade of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith to the Cleveland Browns be an option?
One NFL beat reporter has an interesting idea on one team that might be willing to give up a bit to get Smith. Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com suggested recently on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland that the Browns might want Smith. The scenario makes sense, in theory.
The Browns presumed starting quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his Achilles near the end of the season, and he could miss all of 2025. Plus, Watson has not been very good for Cleveland since going to the team in a trade with the Houston Texans in 2022. He has torn his Achilles before, so he is definitely an injury risk for the rest of his career.
Cleveland could add Smith, and have him be the starter for the team, while Watson sat out the entire year. If Smith does well, the Browns could think of signing him to an extension. Releasing Watson in 2026 would still cost Cleveland a lot of money, but the number would be down from $99,799,000 in 2025 to $26,864,000. Teams have taken more of a cap hit than previously (i.e., Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in 2024).
What would the Seahawks get in return? The Browns pick second overall in the 2025 NFL draft, and Seattle is not going to be able to get that pick for Smith. Cleveland does pick first in the second round (pick 33 overall) and that, along with a later-round choice, might be good enough. Seattle would then start Sam Howell at quarterback next season.
General manager John Schneider could also package picks 18 (the choice the Seahawks currently own in the first round) and pick 33 and try to move up in the draft to potentially choose quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. That is not likely (neither is the proposed scenario put forth by Labbe), but anything is possible.
