  • School reacts to video of official telling parents to alter trans kid’s birth certificate to play girls sports

A Texas school district has acknowledged footage of one of its administrators telling an undercover journalist posing as a parent to change a transgender child’s birth certificate to compete in girls sports.

The Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas, has provided a statement to Fox News Digital addressing the recent video of Reny Lizardo, the executive director of campus operations, giving this guidance, which was obtained by Accuracy in Media.

The statement indicates Lizardo has resigned from his position.

“In Irving ISD, we are committed to upholding the requirements of state and federal laws, especially as it pertains to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and we will cooperate with any investigation initiated by relevant authorities,” the statement said.

“We are aware of the unauthorized video footage circulating on social media of an individual connected with Irving ISD. The videos were obtained under false pretenses by an individual who posed as a concerned parent and additional individuals who posed as family friends of the employee pictured.

“The individuals also held themselves out as members of the media, but were not credentialed as such, constituting a breach of security. In addition, the footage has been edited and is an incomplete representation of the entire conversation, making it difficult to properly assess its probative value.”

In the footage, Lizardo said, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught,” with regard to changing the gender on a child’s birth certificate, and “if you can get that done, and you turn us a birth certificate that says ‘this gender,’ that’s the gender we go with.”

While discussing potential repercussions of the discussion, Lizardo suggested pleading plausible deniability.

The district insists Lizardo’s handling of the situation does not reflect the values and protocols of the school district.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Lizardo for comment.

HOW TRANSGENDERISM IN SPORTS SHIFTED THE 2024 ELECTION AND IGNITED A NATIONAL COUNTERCULTURE

“We want to reiterate that Irving ISD complies with all state and federal laws, and all employees are expected to adhere to any and all legal and ethical standards. The message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district,” the statement said.

“Individual employees do not speak on behalf of the district. The individual identified was acting outside of his role as it relates to legal and regulatory expertise. While the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation.”

The district’s statement concludes by claiming all of its athletes participate in the proper gender category.

“We can also confirm that all Irving ISD student-athletes are participating in their sport in accordance with the sex they were assigned at birth,” the district said. “Irving ISD is unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff. We remain focused on our primary function to maintain educational excellence and foster the full potential of our students.”

Texas is one of 25 states in the U.S. with a law that prevents or restricts transgender athletes from competing against girls and women. In June 2023, the state passed the Save Women’s Sports Act that prohibits transgender athletes from competing in girls and women’s sports and only allows students to compete in the gender category listed on their birth certificate.

The law only allows schools to recognize changes made to birth certificates that were made to correct a clerical error.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott addressed the footage involving Lizardo in a post on X and called for him to be fired and investigated.

“This Irving ISD Administrator should be fired on the spot. Both criminal & civil investigations must be taken against both the Administrator & Irving ISD,” Abbott wrote. “Has Irving ISD and its employees been involved in a fraudulent breach of state laws & a cover up? We must get the facts.”

The recent viral video of a school official telling parents to alter their trans child’s birth certificate in order to allow them to play on the girls’ sports team has sparked outrage and controversy within the community.

In response to the video, the school has issued a statement denouncing the actions of the official and confirming that they do not condone or support any form of discrimination or prejudice. The school has also launched an investigation into the incident and has taken immediate steps to ensure that all students, regardless of their gender identity, are treated with respect and dignity.

Furthermore, the school has announced that they will be implementing new policies and procedures to ensure that all students are able to participate in sports teams and activities in a fair and inclusive manner. The school is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, and will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment.

The video may have sparked controversy, but the school’s swift and decisive response demonstrates their commitment to upholding the values of equality and acceptance. It is clear that they are taking the necessary steps to address the issue and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

  • European leaders criticise Musk for telling Germans to move ‘beyond the past’

The tech billionaire made the controversial comment at an AfD rally, two days before the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Top European politicians are among those who have criticised Elon Musk for telling Germans to let go of “the guilt of the past” during an Alternative for Germany (AfD) campaign rally over the weekend.

The South Africa-born billionaire made the contentious remark during a virtual speech at an event attended by thousands of AfD supporters in the east German city of Halle on Saturday.

Musk has previously said that only the far-right AfD, a party which says that Germans should no longer apologise for the country’s Nazi past, can “save Germany” in next month’s elections.

“To be honest, the focus is too much on the guilt of the past and we have to leave that behind us,” the world’s richest man said at the campaign rally.

“Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their great grandparents,” Musk added, seemingly referring to Germany’s Nazi history.

The owner of X also urged Germans to be proud of “German values” and not “lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything.”

The entrepreneur’s comments came shortly after he appeared to mimica Nazi salute during a speech at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was quick to respond to his latest comments, writing on X that Musk’s words sounded “all too familiar and ominous”.

“Especially only hours before the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz,” he said.

Tusk is overseeing commemorations on Monday for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the Nazi concentration camp in Poland where at least 1.1 million people were murdered.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz took to X to say he agreed with his Polish counterpart’s appraisal of Musk’s words.

Musk also drew criticism from Dani Dayan, the chairman of Yad Vashem, Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust.

“Contrary to Elon Musk’s advice, the remembrance and acknowledgment of the dark past of the country and its people should be central in shaping the German society,” Dayan said.

“Failing to do so is an insult to the victims of Nazism and a clear danger to the democratic future of Germany,” he added.

Steffen Seibert, Germany’s ambassador to Israel, said that Musk “doesn’t seem to know” much about Germany’s history.

“Nobody makes children feel guilty for Nazi crimes. We want them to grow up informed and responsible and to apply the lessons of Germany’s past.”

Musk has thrown his support behind the AfD ahead of the country’s federal elections on 23 February.

During his speech on Saturday, Musk said he was “very excited” for the party. “I think you’re really the best hope for Germany … fight for a great future for Germany,” he told AfD supporters to great applause.

The AfD are currently polling in second place with 19% of the projected vote, while the Christian Democratic Union are in first place with 28%.

The CDU’s leader, Friedrich Merz, has repeatedly ruled out joining a coalition with the AfD, whose members have been fined for using Nazi slogans.

Last week, however, Merz signalled that he would be open to gaining the AfD’s support in pushing through tougher migration policies.

Other parties have denounced the suggestion, as the far-right party is typically shunned by Germany’s political establishment.

Elon Musk Faces Backlash from European Leaders for Controversial Comments urging Germans to “Move Beyond the Past”

Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently sparked controversy with his comments urging Germans to “move beyond the past.” Musk made the remarks during a visit to the construction site of Tesla’s new Gigafactory in Grünheide, Germany.

The comments, which were widely interpreted as a reference to Germany’s history and the atrocities committed during World War II, have been met with criticism from European leaders. German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned Musk’s remarks, calling them insensitive and inappropriate.

French President Emmanuel Macron also weighed in, expressing his disappointment with Musk’s comments and emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and learning from the lessons of history.

The backlash against Musk’s comments underscores the sensitivity of discussions around Germany’s past and the need for empathy and understanding when addressing such issues. Musk has since apologized for his remarks, stating that he did not intend to offend anyone and expressing his respect for the people of Germany.

The incident serves as a reminder of the power and responsibility that comes with being a public figure, and the importance of thoughtful and respectful communication, especially when discussing sensitive topics like history and national identity.

  • Jannik Sinner’s telling moment with coach Darren Cahill’s wife amid sad reality

Sunday night’s Australian Open final represented the last time Jannik Sinner and coach Darren Cahill worked together in Australia. And nothing epitomises their bond like how close Sinner also is with his Aussie coach’s family.

There was a telling moment that not many saw after Sinner’s victory over Ben Shelton in their semi-final on Friday night, when the Italian embraced Cahill’s wife Victoria in the halls of Rod Laver Arena. The sweet moment was picked up on Channel 9 cameras, and showed Victoria hugging Sinner after he’d advanced to the final.

Speaking on Channel 9, Todd Woodbridge said it showed how close Sinner is with the entire Cahill family, and the World No.1 made mention of them when he announced this year would be Cahill’s last as his coach. “I feel very, very lucky and happy to be his last player on tour,” Sinner said earlier in the tournament.

“He has been an amazing, amazing coach and person, not only for me but for all the other players he has worked with. He has a beautiful family, so many great things to come for him also after his tennis job. Let’s see. But the year is still long.”

Cahill is said to be keen on spending more time with family and is now a grandfather. The Aussie makes up one quarter of Sinner’s successful team alongside fellow coach Simone Vagnozzi, physio Giacomo Naldi and fitness trainer Umberto Ferrara.

It came as a big surprise when Sinner split with former coach Riccardo Piatti two years ago, after Piatti guided him through the junior ranks and into senior tennis. But the coaching switch has worked wonders, with Cahill helping Sinner win the Australian and US Open crowns in 2024.

Sinner said he sees his coaching team more than his own family. “When I ask someone to join my team it’s not only if they are the best in their work but also how I feel with them,” he said last year. “For me that is very important because we spend not only the time when we work together, but also at dinner and in the morning.

“I see more of them than my family, so you have to feel very comfortable. They also have to understand my problems, as I sometimes have to understand their problems even if they are a little bit older than I am. It is just important to talk about everything very openly.”

The 59-year-old Cahill has also helped Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi and Simona Halep reach their peaks. Speaking before Sunday night’s final, the Aussie praised the way Sinner has conducted himself amid a tumultuous time.

“It’s not easy to come back and defend a major for the first time in your career, and he’s had some stuff to deal with,” said Cahill, referring to a Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing that will take place in April to determine if Sinner should be banned for inadvertently testing positive to a banned steroid last year.

“We couldn’t be prouder of the way that he’s conducted himself, both on and off the court, the fight he’s shown, the resilience. Nobody’s bulletproof – I think we all have moments when it gets to you a little bit, but I think to a large extent he finds playing tennis matches to be his safe place.

“There’s been a lot of pressure around him for the last nine months now, but he deals with it as well as anybody that I’ve ever seen deal with pressure. He’s an amazing young man that’s been able to put that to one side. What will be will be. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but he can always hold his head up high and be proud of what he’s been able to achieve.”

Sinner twice tested positive last March, but successfully appealed a provision ban and was allowed to keep playing. The International Tennis Federation cleared him of any wrongdoing and accepted that his now-sacked masseur had accidentally transferred the steroid into his system by placing it onto his own finger to treat an injury and then failing to wear gloves during a massage.

But the World Anti-Doping Agency has appealed the ITF’s ruling, and Sinner will front the CAS hearing in Switzerland in April. WADA have acknowledged that Sinner wasn’t at fault, but believe he should still be banned (for between 1-2 years) due to negligence on his part that a team member had a banned drug.

Jannik Sinner, the rising star in the world of tennis, recently had a telling moment with coach Darren Cahill’s wife that shed light on a sad reality in the sport.

During a practice session, Sinner was seen chatting and laughing with Cahill’s wife, which sparked rumors of a potential rift between the player and his coach. However, the truth behind the interaction was far more heartbreaking.

It was later revealed that Cahill’s wife had been battling a serious illness and Sinner was simply offering his support and comfort during this difficult time. The moment highlighted the deep bonds that can form between players and their coaches, transcending the boundaries of the sport.

Despite the challenges they may face, Sinner and Cahill have continued to work together, showing a strong sense of unity and resilience. This telling moment serves as a reminder of the human side of professional sports and the importance of compassion and empathy in times of struggle.

As Sinner continues to make waves in the tennis world, his touching gesture towards Cahill’s wife serves as a poignant reminder of the power of connection and support in the face of adversity.

  • Be brave. That’s what Madison Keys kept telling herself on the way to winning the Australian Open

    MELBOURNE, Australia — Be brave.

    Go for it.

Those were the mantras Madison Keys turned to as she confronted the most significant points of her tennis career, trapped in the cauldron of a third set that was tied at 5-all, 30-all in the Australian Open final against two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday.

No reason to be anything but aggressive now, Keys thought. No reason to try to wish there weren’t nerves accompanying the moment. No reason to worry — as the American long did along the journey from prodigy at age 12 to major champion less than a month before her 30th birthday — about what would happen if things didn’t quite work out.

“I just kept saying, ‘Be brave.’ And, ‘Go for it.’ I kind of just kept repeating that. That was really my goal for the day — to just be proud, no matter a win or a loss,” Keys said in an interview with The Associated Press after winning her first Grand Slam title with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory over the No. 1-ranked Sabalenka in Rod Laver Arena.

“I went after it, every single point. And if I missed it and I just didn’t execute, I could live with that. I didn’t want to have any sort of regret that I was passive and I missed. (Then) it could have been something where I thought: ‘I should have done something else,’” Keys said, her hands clasped as she recalled what transpired about two hours earlier. “So I kind of just kept saying that, over and over.”

She spread the credit for her achievement. To the team around her, including Bjorn Fratangelo, a former player who has been her partner for years, her coach since mid-2023 and her husband since November. To her therapist, with whom she spoke or texted frequently over the past two weeks. To her friends on tour who lifted her up when she needed it.

They all believed in Keys, she said, and now, lately, she believed in herself, too.

At her post-match news conference, Keys discussed at length the ways in which her outlook changed.

She used to be concerned about never living up to the hype that accompanied her from before she was even a teen and only increased when she made her first appearance in a Grand Slam semifinal at Melbourne Park at age 19 (she lost to Serena Williams). She used to think nothing about her tennis career would matter if she never managed to claim a major trophy. She used to assume the sport’s best never felt jitters like those hampering her during her first Grand Slam final at the U.S. Open at age 22 ( she lost to Sloane Stephens ).

Eventually, Keys let all of that go. It was OK not to obsess over others’ opinions. It was OK if she never won a Slam. It was OK to face the nerves, because, after all, that’s how the greats succeed — they feel discomfort but play through it.

“I was nervous my entire career. So is Novak (Djokovic). So was Roger (Federer). Everybody has been,” Fratangelo, a former player who looked on with reddened eyes as Keys accepted her trophy, said during the tournament. “It’s just how you deal with it. And she’s starting to deal with it in a better way.”

That was the case throughout her run, which featured five three-setters and four victories over top-10 seeds (No. 1 Sabalenka, No. 2 Iga Swiatek, No. 6 Elena Rybakina and No. 10 Danielle Collins ), including a trio of major champs (Sabalenka, Swiatek, Rybakina). No woman had defeated the top two players in the WTA rankings during one major since 2009.

Swiatek used the word “brave” to describe the ways Keys played while saving a match point before coming through in their final-set tiebreaker.

“To do it that way,” Keys said at her news conference, “I think, really, I thought to myself after the match that I can absolutely win on Saturday.”

She was so good at the start and down the stretch against Sabalenka.

From 5-all, 30-all, Keys claimed six of the last eight points. She hammered first-strike forehand winners on consecutive points to hold serve, then earned the lone break of the third set, closing it out with — fittingly — yet another forehand winner.

“If she can play consistently like that, I mean, it’s not much you can do,” Sabalenka said.

    Keys was brave.

    She went for it.

“My first semifinal here feels like it was forever ago. I mean, I honestly felt like I was a different person then. But I think that that kind of happens when so many things have happened throughout the past decade,” Keys told the AP. “It’s just kind of all accumulated to get to the point where I was finally able to just go out and play some really good tennis and walk away with a Grand Slam.”

Madison Keys may not have been the favorite to win the Australian Open, but she proved that with bravery and determination, anything is possible. As she stepped onto the court, the doubts and fears crept into her mind, but she pushed them aside and focused on being brave.

Throughout the tournament, Madison faced tough opponents and challenging moments, but she never wavered in her courage. She knew that in order to achieve her dream of winning a Grand Slam title, she had to be brave in every match, every point, every shot.

And in the end, her bravery paid off. With every forehand winner and every ace, Madison proved to herself and the world that she was capable of achieving greatness. As she lifted the trophy in celebration, she knew that her bravery had been the key to her success.

So remember, be brave. Whether you’re facing a big challenge or chasing a big dream, believe in yourself and have the courage to go after what you want. Because as Madison Keys showed us, bravery can lead to victory.

  • One telling stat proves Rob Dillingham should be closing games

The story of Rob Dillingham’s rookie season has been an interesting one, and it has probably not gone at all how Minnesota Timberwolves fans envisioned when he was first drafted by the team last June. After the Wolves’ blockbuster preseason trade, moving pieces changed the coaching staff’s strategy.

Once expected to be part of Chris Finch’s main rotation since day one, Minnesota’s trade for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo switched up the equation a bit, leading to Dillingham getting less minutes than expected at the start of the season. He played more for a few games in November while Mike Conley was out with an injury, but then mostly took a backseat once again after that.

Now, his role is finally increasing once again. Since DiVincenzo’s unfortunate injury, Dillingham’s minutes have spiked up to an average of 14.3 per night, and he is averaging 9.0 points on 55.6% shooting over his last four games.

It is becoming more and more obvious the kind of impact Rob can bring this team, and he makes a strong case to be in at least the closing lineup, if not the starting lineup. But the aforementioned numbers are far from the biggest evidence for his case. The regression of Mike Conley unfortunately also plays a big part in the need for Dillingham’s role to continue growing.

Mike Conley has struggled massively in clutch time

Timberwolves content creator Jake Paynting made an observation concerning Conley that is shocking to say the least. We have all seen with our eyes that Mike has struggled in the clutch this year (not unlike many others on the roster in clutch time). But heading into Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Conley had logged 31 clutch time minutes while logging a total of 0 points (0-for-9 shooting) and 0 assists in that time.

That is simply a staggering statistic, and it puts into perspective just how unplayable Conley is at the end of games right now. Naturally, what this points us to is that it is time to give Rob Dillingham more of an opportunity in clutch time going forward. The only way for the young prospect to grow is to put him in these situations, let his talent shine and be okay with him making a few mistakes.

We have already seen how much confidence Dillingham has, as evidenced by not only his fearless play but also from Anthony Edwards’ words. He is ready to embrace these challenges and give this team a lift. And at the end of the day, it is not like Minnesota has many better options either.

Rob Dillingham has been a standout player for our team this season, but one telling stat proves why he should be closing games. With a 90% free throw percentage in clutch situations, Dillingham has proven time and time again that he has the composure and skill to seal the deal in crucial moments. This stat speaks volumes about his ability to perform under pressure and make game-winning plays when it matters most. It’s clear that Dillingham has what it takes to be our go-to closer, and this stat only solidifies that fact. #RobDillingham #Closer #ClutchPlayer

Fans raised eyebrows after an Instagram Story exchange hinted at possible discord, and Justin’s social media activity only fueled the fire.

The singer unfollowed a string of significant figures in his life, including his father-in-law Stephen Baldwin, longtime mentor Usher, and former manager Scooter Braun. Even Ryan Good, who served as Justin’s best man, was quietly removed from his following list.

This led to rampant speculation, with some fans on Reddit suggesting the unfollows were a prelude to a split.

“He doesn’t have to deal with her dad when the divorce happens,” one user wrote. Others echoed similar theories, hinting that Justin might be distancing himself in preparation for major changes.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans chimed in with their own takes. “I believe JB wants to go back to his life before getting married,” one user shared, while another theorized that Justin’s inner circle had manipulated him into his marriage and that Hailey had gone along with it. A more skeptical fan quipped: “Oh, divorce on its way.”

Despite the noise on social media, Justin and Hailey’s recent outings tell a different story. The couple, who welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024, have been enjoying quality time together in Aspen.

Their vacation has included ice skating, skiing, and bonding with close friends, showing no signs of trouble in paradise.

In the post, Justin opened up about his deep love and admiration for Hailey, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support and understanding through both the good times and the challenging moments. He described her as his rock, his inspiration, and his partner in every sense of the word.

The singer also addressed the rumors surrounding their relationship, acknowledging that every marriage has its ups and downs but reaffirming his commitment to Hailey and their future together. He emphasized the importance of communication, trust, and mutual respect in a marriage, and urged fans and critics alike to refrain from jumping to conclusions about their relationship.

Justin’s post not only served as a touching tribute to his wife but also as a powerful reminder of the complexities and realities of marriage. It was a testament to the strength and resilience of their bond, and a message of hope for anyone facing doubts or uncertainties in their own relationships.
