Australia enforce the follow on
And frankly you’d hope so with a lead of 489 runs. They’ve been far too good for Sri Lanka, whose last five wickets disappeared in the space of 26 balls.

In a groundbreaking move, New Zealand has announced that it will be scrapping the English language test and slashing the investment requirements for its investor visa program. This decision comes as part of the country’s efforts to attract more skilled immigrants and investors.
The investor visa program, which allows individuals to obtain residency in New Zealand by investing in the country’s economy, has long been seen as a pathway for wealthy individuals to gain access to the country. However, the high investment requirements and English language test have been major barriers for many potential applicants.
The decision to eliminate the English language test will make it easier for non-English speaking investors to qualify for the visa program. Additionally, the reduction in investment requirements will make it more accessible to a wider range of individuals, opening up new opportunities for those looking to move to New Zealand.
This move is expected to boost New Zealand’s economy and attract more talented individuals to the country, ultimately benefiting both the local population and the immigrants themselves. With these changes, New Zealand is sending a clear message that it is open for business and ready to welcome skilled individuals from around the world.

(Bloomberg) — Palantir Technologies Inc.’s hefty premium will be in focus when the data analysis software giant reports earnings after the market close on Monday — with the stock trading at levels some see as difficult to maintain.
Most Read from Bloomberg
Rebounding from a slump at the start of the year, the stock on Friday powered to a fresh record high, pushing its valuation to nearly 170 times forward earnings — more than 500% greater than that of the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100.
With Palantir’s ability to keep delivering significant growth seen threatened by rising competition and a weaker outlook in Europe, scrutiny is on earnings. The firm would have to accelerate growth by 50% for four years to hold its stock price, Jefferies analysts led by Brent Thill wrote in a Jan. 30 note.
“With Palantir trading at a significant premium to its peers, we believe any signs of decelerating growth could cause concern and subsequently lead to multiple compression,” Thill said. Palantir shares pared an earlier loss to climb about 1% higher in afternoon trading in New York.
Analysts see more than 30% downside for the stock over the next 12 months, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
Around its earnings, the implied one-day move for shares is more than 13% in either direction, according to Bloomberg. Wall Street expects the company to report GAAP earnings per share of 3 cents, a decline from the year before, and $776 million in revenue, a 28% jump from the year prior.
Bloomberg Intelligence analysts also see possible hurdles to Palantir’s growth. Momentum from US government contracts and its artificial intelligence platform could get weighed down by competition and softness in its international business, according to analysts led by Mandeep Singh.
Another issue for investors is insider sales — of which Palantir had the most of any S&P 500 Index company in the past three months, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
Palantir insiders sold about $4 billion in shares in 2024, a record, according to data from the Washington Service, with most sales taking place from September through the end of the year. While that makes up a relatively small portion of the company’s roughly $190 billion market value, who is selling is also important — the list includes early investors Peter Thiel and Chief Executive Officer and Founder Alex Karp.
Palantir Technologies Inc. is set to report its earnings for the fourth quarter, with investors eagerly awaiting the results to see if the software company can justify its soaring valuation after a recent rally.
Palantir, known for its data analytics and software solutions for government and commercial clients, has seen its stock price surge in recent months, with shares up over 200% in the past year. The company’s market capitalization now stands at over $50 billion, making it one of the most valuable software companies in the world.
Investors will be looking for signs of continued growth and profitability in Palantir’s earnings report, as well as updates on the company’s outlook for the future. Analysts expect the company to report strong revenue and earnings growth, driven by increasing demand for its products and services.
However, some analysts have raised concerns about Palantir’s valuation, noting that the stock may be overvalued compared to its peers. The company’s high price-to-earnings ratio and relatively small revenue base have led some to question whether the stock can sustain its current levels.
Palantir’s earnings report will be a key test for the company and its investors, as they gauge whether the company’s fundamentals can support its lofty valuation. Stay tuned for updates on Palantir’s earnings and the market’s reaction to the results.

There are two key similarities between Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats and former Alabama football coach Nick Saban.
No.1, they both know how to dress, or at least understand that maintaining a classy image in public comes with the job and is a sign of respect for the people they represent.
This might seem trivial to some, but those are probably just the guys who think it’s OK to wear flannel shirts with dress slacks, flip-flops away from the beach, workout attire away from the gym, sweatpants in public, tactical pants to church, saggy jeans anywhere, camo, team jerseys outside of stadiums, tucked in T-shirts and square-toed shoes or boots.
Everyone else appreciates the fact that Oats isn’t the best dressed coach in college basketball by accident and that Saban (or at least Miss Terry) has impeccable fashion sense. Attention to detail matters all the way down to the buttons on the shirt.
Secondly — and this might be a little more important — Oats is like Saban in that he never wavers from the coaching ethos that winning is all that matters.
Too cutthroat? Maybe for some, but that’s one of the things that makes Oats good at his job.
Oats hasn’t turned Alabama basketball into a national contender by handing out participation trophies, which is why sitting point guard Mark Sears against LSU didn’t come as much of a surprise.
The broadcasters calling the game for ESPN made a big deal about Sears being on the bench, but it’s not the first time that Oats has kept Sears out of the rotation this season and it might not be the last either.
Maybe Oats was trying to send a message by putting his best offensive player on the bench, or maybe Alabama’s coach just wanted more length on defense for the second half. Either way, it was the right call. Alabama won and Oats even noted afterwards that it was some of the best defense Alabama had played all season to end a game.
Sears was back in the lineup on Wednesday against Mississippi State and led Alabama with 17 points, six rebounds and nine assists. Once again, though, Oats made the correct decision late in the game when he subbed out Mark Sears and Aden Holloway in favor of taller players.
If only the football coach at Alabama knew how to manage his team so effectively.
No.4 Alabama basketball (18-3, 7-1 in the SEC) returns to action on Saturday with a home game against Georgia. The Tide is one of the deepest teams in the country, and Oats is going to need it to finish out this season. The remaining schedule is like nothing I’ve ever seen. Ten games remain and Alabama’s final seven opponents are all currently ranked in the AP Top 25.
Alabama could make it all the way to the championship game of the NCAA Tournament and have an easier road.
No one has it easy in the SEC, of course. The league has never been better. Some are calling it the best conference in college basketball history. Maybe so. No.1 Auburn (19-1, 7-0) plays eight ranked opponents across its final 11 games. Tennessee, which has lost three of its last four games, is grinding through a stretch of nine ranked teams in its first 10 conference games.
Coach John Calipari left Kentucky for Arkansas this season, but the Hogs are only 1-6 in the SEC.
Lamont Paris won SEC Coach of the Year in 2024, but his South Carolina Gamecocks are 0-8 to begin conference play this season.
The toughest football conference in the country is now the best basketball conference, too. The SEC’s greatest February of hoops begins on Saturday, but that’s just a build up for the big finish.
With Auburn and Alabama one and two in the SEC standings, it looks like league bragging rights and the regular-season title will go through the Heart of Dixie. Alabama and Auburn play twice over the final three weeks of the season. It will be a test of mental toughness like this league has never seen.
In benching Sears, Oats made sure that his point guard would be ready for the fight. And if Sears needs a rest, well, Alabama’s cutthroat, win-first coach planned ahead by taking Auburn’s old point guard and making him better.

In today’s fast-paced world, businesses are constantly facing new challenges and threats that can disrupt their operations. From natural disasters to cyber-attacks, there are countless potential risks that can impact a company’s ability to function effectively. That’s why having a solid disaster recovery plan in place is essential for every organization.
A disaster recovery plan is a set of procedures and protocols that a business puts in place to ensure that it can continue to operate in the event of a disaster. This could be anything from a power outage to a major data breach. By having a plan in place, companies can minimize the impact of these events and ensure that they can quickly recover and get back to business as usual.
However, simply having a disaster recovery plan is not enough. It’s also important to regularly test and update the plan to ensure that it remains effective and relevant. Here are some tips for preparing for the unexpected by testing and updating your disaster recovery plan:
1. Conduct regular testing: One of the most important steps in preparing for the unexpected is to regularly test your disaster recovery plan. This could involve running simulations of various disaster scenarios to see how well your plan holds up. By conducting regular tests, you can identify any weaknesses or gaps in your plan and make necessary adjustments.
2. Review and update your plan: As your business grows and evolves, so too should your disaster recovery plan. It’s important to regularly review and update your plan to ensure that it reflects the current state of your business and any new potential risks that may have emerged. This could involve revising your contact lists, updating your recovery procedures, or implementing new technologies to enhance your disaster recovery capabilities.
3. Train your team: In the event of a disaster, your team will be instrumental in implementing your disaster recovery plan. That’s why it’s important to ensure that everyone is well-trained and familiar with their roles and responsibilities in the event of a disaster. By conducting regular training sessions, you can ensure that your team is prepared to respond effectively in an emergency.
4. Communicate with stakeholders: It’s also important to keep key stakeholders informed about your disaster recovery plan and any updates or changes that have been made. This could include employees, customers, suppliers, and other partners who may be impacted by a disaster. By keeping everyone in the loop, you can ensure a coordinated and effective response to any unexpected events.
In conclusion, preparing for the unexpected is essential for every business. By testing and updating your disaster recovery plan regularly, you can ensure that your organization is well-equipped to handle any potential threats that may arise. With a solid plan in place, you can minimize the impact of disasters and ensure that your business can quickly recover and continue to thrive.

Australia 440 (Sutherland 163, Mooney 106, Ecclestone 5-143) beat England 170 (Sciver-Brunt 51, King 4-45) & 148 (Beaumont 47, King 5-53, Gardner 4-39) by an innings and 122 runs
King took her maiden Test five-wicket haul, nine for the match and 23 for the series at a 11.17 to equal Ash Gardner’s record haul of 23 scalps in the 2023 Ashes and finish as Player of the Series.
Gardner took 4 for 39 to cap a wonderful series. The spin duo bowled 47.4 overs together unchanged to claim the last nine wickets of the match and allow England to start their recriminations a day early.
But when King and Gardner were finally locked in tandem, they created carnage just as they had done throughout the ODI series. With England 79 for 1, Knight bunted a catch to short leg where Phoebe Litchfield held her second sharp close catch of the match.
King then bamboozled Nat Sciver-Brunt for the second time in the match and the fourth time in the series. Sciver-Brunt had spoken after her first innings half-century about wanting to play King off the back foot despite twice being bowled playing back, including on day one for 51.
She changed tack in the second, instead pushing forward at every opportunity and sweeping anything pitching outside leg. King forced a leading edge that landed just wide of silly mid-off and then fizzed another past the outside edge, but Sciver-Brunt did well to hold the line.
With that set-up, she played for turn on the front foot trying to defend and King got one to skid into her front pad and trap her lbw. Sciver-Brunt took a review with her to underscore how deceived she was.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge avoided falling to King for a fourth time as Sciver-Brunt, instead meekly sweeping Gardner straight to short fine.
King’s third and fourth scalps were from arguably her two worst balls. Beaumont dragged on from a non-committal jab at a shorter legbreak wide of off for 47.
Ryana MacDonald-Gay had been strangely upbeat in the press conference on the second night, but her mood would surely have shifted after hitting a rank full toss from King straight to deep midwicket.
In the midst of those two dismissals, Mooney took an excellent catch off Gardner via a thick deflection from Amy Jones’ outside edge.
Sophie Ecclestone’s bizarre Test match concluded when she top-edged a long-hop from Gardner to midwicket.
With both spinners on four wickets each, the race to join Peggy Antonio on Australia’s bowling honours board at the MCG was comical as skied balls and edges somehow evaded fielders hands. Lauren Bell and Lauren Filer faced the most balls ever for a 10th wicket pair in women’s Tests before Filer finally chipped one to catching mid-on.
Earlier, Mooney joined Sutherland on the MCG honours board as the second century maker in the Australia’s innings.
Having spent the night unbeaten on 98, Mooney looked a bundle of nerves through the first five balls of the day. Ecclestone beat her twice and she nearly caused a mix-up trying to invent a non-existent single. But off the last ball of the over she breathed a huge sigh of relief as Ecclestone dropped short to allow her to punch two off the back foot through point and raise her arms aloft.
Thereafter, England finally had a decent hour as they held their catches to reward their bowlers. Ecclestone gave Tahlia McGrath nothing to hit before she skipped out to the wrong line and dragged a catch to mid-on.
Filer then cranked up the pace despite having delivered 21 overs on day two. She had Kim Garth caught behind for a third-ball duck and could have easily had Mooney lbw from around the wicket in the next over. Mooney was initially given not out and DRS showed it was umpire’s call on impact in line with off but it was crashing into middle.
Mooney’s luck continued five balls later when she gloved down the legside but Amy Jones caught it while part of the ball brushed the ground as it entered her gloves. Filer was finally rewarded when she clattered Mooney’s off stump with the left-hander playing down the wrong line.
In between, Ecclestone pinned King lbw for 3 which brought Ellyse Perry to the crease at No.10 for the first time in her career. It was odd that Perry was fit to bat but came in behind Garth and King. But the moment she ran her first runs, a two to wide long-off, it was clear she was in a lot of discomfort with her corked left hip. She chipped a return catch back to Ecclestone to end the innings and unjustly dent her extraordinary Test average.
Australia had bizarrely lost 5 for 9 despite their extraordinary batting depth and handed Ecclestone her third Test five-wicket haul, albeit her most expensive ahead of the 5 for 129 she took in the last Ashes Test in Nottingham.

The highly anticipated Women’s Ashes 2024/25 Only Test Match between Australia and England took place from January 30 to February 1, 2025, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The match was filled with thrilling moments, exceptional performances, and fierce competition between the two cricketing powerhouses.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a challenging target for England with their strong batting lineup. Led by captain Meg Lanning, who scored a brilliant century, Australia posted a formidable total of 350 runs in their first innings. Ellyse Perry also made a significant contribution with a half-century, showcasing her all-round skills.
In response, England’s batting lineup struggled against Australia’s formidable bowling attack, with Ellyse Perry and Megan Schutt wreaking havoc. Despite a valiant effort from Sarah Taylor, who top-scored with a gritty half-century, England was bowled out for 250 runs in their first innings, conceding a significant lead to Australia.
Australia continued their dominance in the match, with their bowlers continuing to trouble the English batsmen in the second innings. Ellyse Perry once again starred with the ball, picking up crucial wickets and restricting England’s scoring opportunities. Despite some resistance from the lower order, England was bowled out for 200 runs in their second innings, setting Australia a target of 101 runs to win the match.
In their chase, Australia’s batters chased down the target comfortably, with Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy guiding them to victory with some elegant strokeplay. Australia reached the target in just 20 overs, securing a comprehensive win in the Only Test Match and taking an early lead in the Women’s Ashes series.
Overall, it was a thrilling and competitive match that showcased the talent and skill of both teams. Australia’s dominant performance in all facets of the game earned them a well-deserved victory, setting the stage for an exciting series ahead. The Women’s Ashes 2024/25 promises to be a closely contested battle between two formidable teams, and fans can look forward to more exciting cricket in the coming matches.

Key events
And frankly you’d hope so with a lead of 489 runs. They’ve been far too good for Sri Lanka, whose last five wickets disappeared in the space of 26 balls.
Five wickets for Matt Kuhnemann! Vandersay hacks him high into the cover, where Starc takes a simple catch. Kuhnemann smiles a little sheepishly and his teammates charge across in celebration; they could barely be happier for him. He leads Australia off, raising the ball to the crowd after finishing with excellent figures of 18.2-3-63-5. He’ll be bowling again very soon.
52nd over: Sri Lanka 161-9 (Vandersay 0, Fernando 0) Now Lyon has seven men plus the keeper around the bat for Asitha Fernando, woh edges his first ball along the ground to second slip.
Nathan Lyon makes short work of the left-handed Nishan Peiris, who slashes a boundary before bat-padding a defensive stroke to short leg. Josh Inglis moves smartly to his right to take the catch.
51st over: Sri Lanka 157-8 (Vandersay 0, Peiris 1) There are six fielders round the bat for the new batter Peiris: short leg, gully, slip, leg slip, leg gully and short leg. An inside-edge lands just short of leg gully.
Another one. Jayasuriya runs past a lovely delivery that pitches on middle and growls past the edge; Alex Carey does the rest. Sri Lanka have lost three for none in 13 balls and Matthew Kuhnemann is one wicket away from his second Test five-for.
50th over: Sri Lanka 156-7 (Jayasuriya 0, Vandersay 0) There’s surely no doubt Australia will enforce the follow-on when the time comes. It’s not like they need to give the seamers a break, or that there’s any risk of them losing the game with a lead of almost 500.
The change of angle works for Nathan Lyon, who has dismissed Chandimal for only the second time in Tests. Chandimal missed a reverse sweep and was hit on the back thigh by a lovely delivery that curved onto off and middle and turned sharply.
Chandimal reviewed, mainly because he’s the last remaining batter, but it was hitting leg stump and he’s on his way for a punchy 72.
49th over: Sri Lanka 156-6 (Chandimal 72, Jayasuriya 0) There’s isn’t much Sri Lankan batting left – Prabath Jayasuriya, the No8, has a Test average of 8.41 – so one wicket could bring five. Jayasuriya is beaten by his first two deliveries, both of which rip off the stumps to beat the edge.
Kusal Mendis falls into the trap. Australia were happy for him to slog-sweep against the spin, knowing he could easily top-edge it. That’s exactly what happened and Todd Murphy took a excellent running catch at deepish midwicket.
48th over: Sri Lanka 156-5 (Chandimal 72, Kusal Mendis 22) A great stat from the host broadcaster. Chandimal has a head-to-head average of 221 against Nathan Lyon in Test cricket. Make that 223 after a couple of singles in this over. Lyon has moved around the wicket to Chandimal but not Mendis.
47th over: Sri Lanka 152-5 (Chandimal 70, Kusal Mendis 19) Mendis fetches Kuhnemann from well outside off stump, slog-sweeping through midwicket for four. Australia won’t mind that with the ball turning away from the bat.
46th over: Sri Lanka 145-5 (Chandimal 68, Kusal Mendis 14) Mendis lunges at a beautiful delivery from Lyon that zips past the edge. Carey has the bails off in a flash but Mendis’s back foot stayed grounded. It feels like a wicket is imminent.
45th over: Sri Lanka 144-5 (Chandimal 67, Kusal Mendis 14) Kuhnemann is getting bounce as well as turn and has started very well. Chandimal, surprised by a ball that spits from middle stump, does well to soften his hands and drop it short of the fielder who has just been moved to silly point.
England Women have had a better morning at the MCG, taking the last five Australian wickets for nine runs. They are miles behind, though, and there’s every chance Australia will complete a whitewash today.
44th over: Sri Lanka 143-5 (Chandimal 66, Kusal Mendis 14) Nathan Lyon’s first ball induces a top-edged sweep from Chandimal that lands safely. Mendis then crashes a pull into the left knee of Head at short leg. Oof, that looked painful.
Lyon has a slightly different field: slip, short leg and leg gully.
43rd over: Sri Lanka 138-5 (Chandimal 64, Kusal Mendis 11) Kuhnemann starts around the wicket, with two slips and a short leg for both batsmen. There’s some turn straight away, albeit relatively slow, and Chandimal and Mendis take a single apiece. A low-key start.
Nathan Lyon talks to our own Adam Collins
We can’t do anything about the weather. But we’ve rocked up here today and there’s some sunlight and some heat coming out of the ground. It’s gonna be a challenging morning and an exciting one.
We hope the pitch will deteriorate, you expect that on the subcontinent. Hopefully we’ll get a full day in today.
I’ve played against Dinesh [Chandimal] for a long time now – he’s a class player, isn’t he? Hopefully we can create some more problems for him to solve.
[On Matt Kuhnemann and Todd Murphy] Our preparation has been pretty spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Dubai. Their young, they’re learning, they’re asking questions. It’s a pretty amazing group to be working with.
I’ve got nothing but love for the ground here at Galle. The Sri Lankan culture and people… it’s an amazing place to tour.
Less than ten minutes until play resumes. It looks a beautiful sunny day in Galle. There’s a small chance of rain this afternoon but apart from that the radar looks clear.
Weather permitting, there should be plenty of time for Australia to force victory in this game, almost 200 overs. That’s roughly a wicket every 13 overs on a pitch that is already offering a fair bit for the spinners.
The Women’s Ashes Test is about to resume at the MCG. Jonathan Howcroft is on duty for that one.
Rob Smyth
Morning folks. Shall we try that one again? Only 27 overs were possible on the third day in Galle but the forecast is much better today and Australia should be able to push towards victory. All things being equal, there should be a sighting of an endangered tactic: the follow-on.
Sri Lanka will resume on 136 for 5, still a mildly terrifying 518 runs behind, with Dinesh Chandimal on 63 and Kusal Mendis on 10. Expect an early blast from Mitchell Starc and then spin, lots of spin.

10:31 Local Time, 05:01 GMT, 10:31 IST: Sri Lanka have been bundled out for just 165 and with the deficit being a mammoth 489 runs, Australia have decided to enforce the follow-on. Definitely the right call too, we’ve heard that there’s some rain expected later in the afternoon again so Australia will want all the time they can have to bowl Sri Lanka out a second time. Their bowlers should be relatively fresh too considering they bowled only 27 overs yesterday. In total, they bowled only 52.2 overs with Starc only bowling 8 so they should be raring to go once more. Sorry looking batting card for Sri Lanka. The openers went cheaply and there were a lot of soft-dismissals. Chandimal was the only standout with 72. Lot of batters got starts but went on to throw it away. The surface is offering plenty to the spinners when they put it in the right areas. With some discipline and patience, Australia should bundle Sri Lanka out easily once again. The weather is their only foe.
The first Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia in the Australia tour of Sri Lanka, 2025 ended in a draw with Sri Lanka scoring 165 & 0/0 in their first innings and Australia declaring at 654/6 in their first innings.
Sri Lanka’s openers Oshada Fernando and Dimuth Karunaratne were dismissed for ducks in their first innings, facing just one ball each. Despite the early setbacks, Sri Lanka managed to reach a total of 165 in their first innings.
Australia’s batsmen dominated the match with a massive total of 654/6 declared in their first innings. The highlight of their innings was a brilliant performance by their captain, scoring a double century.
The match ended in a draw as Sri Lanka managed to hold on in their second innings without losing any wickets. Overall, it was a thrilling match with both teams putting up a strong fight. Stay tuned for more updates on the series.

NEW YORK – Today, Verizon is pushing the boundaries of satellite and terrestrial telecommunications convergence. Satellites are no longer reserved for the extraordinary—they are woven into the everyday, and are being used to help connect and power customers’ lives.
A lot has changed since 2014 when Verizon’s famous test man roamed the country asking “Can you hear me now?” Now he’s back, and reaching the limits of space with the help of American icon and astronaut Buzz Aldrin. They’re partnering to show how America’s largest network just got better.
“Fifty-six years ago I was one of the select few that made it into Space and the first team to help America conquer the moon,” said Buzz Aldrin, General USAF, Doctor of Astronautics. “Back then, Space was the great unknown, and now we’ve never been closer to it. I can’t look up in the sky without seeing a satellite fly by. It’s remarkable to see how far the human race – and technology – has come.”
“It’s been 10 years since I last asked America “Can you hear me now?,” said Paul Marcarelli, the Original Verizon Test Man. “Back then dead zones were everywhere and it’s safe to say today they are only in the most remote places like the dark side of the moon. Verizon’s always been on a mission to give its customers the very best experience, anticipate their changing needs and drive innovation. Satellite is for sure the next frontier.”
Verizon engineers are relentlessly focused on providing the most reliable network experience for customers. Verizon’s network covers more than 99% of where people live, work and play, leaving very few places throughout the country where customers can’t connect. With the addition of satellite back-up to Verizon’s already robust network, Verizon is making the largest network even better.
Satellites play a crucial role in making connectivity with Verizon even more reliable, enabling text messaging in the few areas where traditional terrestrial-based cellular networks might not reach. Here’s how:
This week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has granted AST Special Temporary Authority (STA) authorizing beta service in the United States. This approval enables AST SpaceMobile’s first five commercial BlueBird satellites, operating in low Earth orbit today, to test satellite connections with Verizon smartphones supporting voice, full data and video applications, and other native cellular capabilities, without the need of any specialized software or device support or update.
Verizon utilizes nearly 300 satellite-based portable network assets to ensure connectivity where fiber cables are unavailable or compromised. These assets provide temporary network access for first responders and in areas with limited permanent infrastructure, or for linking cell sites to the broader network when fiber cables are compromised due to power outages or physical damage.
Verizon uses satellite connections as backhaul for cell sites in remote areas (like forests and mountain tops) where traditional wired connections like fiber are not yet available. Satellite connections can be set up quickly compared to laying fiber, particularly in areas with significant geographical or logistical barriers. This rapid deployment is a useful solution while fiber optics is being planned and deployed. This allows cell sites to be operational and provide service while waiting for the installation of a more robust and high-capacity connection.
