  • Goodman: Alabama’s big test is here, and the Tide is ready

    This is an opinion column.

    ______________________

There are two key similarities between Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats and former Alabama football coach Nick Saban.

No.1, they both know how to dress, or at least understand that maintaining a classy image in public comes with the job and is a sign of respect for the people they represent.

This might seem trivial to some, but those are probably just the guys who think it’s OK to wear flannel shirts with dress slacks, flip-flops away from the beach, workout attire away from the gym, sweatpants in public, tactical pants to church, saggy jeans anywhere, camo, team jerseys outside of stadiums, tucked in T-shirts and square-toed shoes or boots.

Everyone else appreciates the fact that Oats isn’t the best dressed coach in college basketball by accident and that Saban (or at least Miss Terry) has impeccable fashion sense. Attention to detail matters all the way down to the buttons on the shirt.

Secondly — and this might be a little more important — Oats is like Saban in that he never wavers from the coaching ethos that winning is all that matters.

Too cutthroat? Maybe for some, but that’s one of the things that makes Oats good at his job.

Oats hasn’t turned Alabama basketball into a national contender by handing out participation trophies, which is why sitting point guard Mark Sears against LSU didn’t come as much of a surprise.

The broadcasters calling the game for ESPN made a big deal about Sears being on the bench, but it’s not the first time that Oats has kept Sears out of the rotation this season and it might not be the last either.

Maybe Oats was trying to send a message by putting his best offensive player on the bench, or maybe Alabama’s coach just wanted more length on defense for the second half. Either way, it was the right call. Alabama won and Oats even noted afterwards that it was some of the best defense Alabama had played all season to end a game.

Sears was back in the lineup on Wednesday against Mississippi State and led Alabama with 17 points, six rebounds and nine assists. Once again, though, Oats made the correct decision late in the game when he subbed out Mark Sears and Aden Holloway in favor of taller players.

If only the football coach at Alabama knew how to manage his team so effectively.

No.4 Alabama basketball (18-3, 7-1 in the SEC) returns to action on Saturday with a home game against Georgia. The Tide is one of the deepest teams in the country, and Oats is going to need it to finish out this season. The remaining schedule is like nothing I’ve ever seen. Ten games remain and Alabama’s final seven opponents are all currently ranked in the AP Top 25.

Alabama could make it all the way to the championship game of the NCAA Tournament and have an easier road.

No one has it easy in the SEC, of course. The league has never been better. Some are calling it the best conference in college basketball history. Maybe so. No.1 Auburn (19-1, 7-0) plays eight ranked opponents across its final 11 games. Tennessee, which has lost three of its last four games, is grinding through a stretch of nine ranked teams in its first 10 conference games.

Coach John Calipari left Kentucky for Arkansas this season, but the Hogs are only 1-6 in the SEC.

Lamont Paris won SEC Coach of the Year in 2024, but his South Carolina Gamecocks are 0-8 to begin conference play this season.

The toughest football conference in the country is now the best basketball conference, too. The SEC’s greatest February of hoops begins on Saturday, but that’s just a build up for the big finish.

With Auburn and Alabama one and two in the SEC standings, it looks like league bragging rights and the regular-season title will go through the Heart of Dixie. Alabama and Auburn play twice over the final three weeks of the season. It will be a test of mental toughness like this league has never seen.

In benching Sears, Oats made sure that his point guard would be ready for the fight. And if Sears needs a rest, well, Alabama’s cutthroat, win-first coach planned ahead by taking Auburn’s old point guard and making him better.

Kalen DeBoer has added his former offensive coordinator a year later than planned at Alabama.

With that, there’s nothing reported yet on what that means for this past season’s offensive coordinator in Nick Sheridan.

Grubb worked for DeBoer at Washington as well as Fresno State as his offensive coordinator, a quarterbacks coach, and the associate head coach. In those four seasons together, their offenses posted 35.5 ppg. with 480.3 yards of total offense on average. That included quality quarterback play from Jake Haener and Michael Penix Jr. as those offenses passed for 349.1 yards, 2.5 touchdowns, and less than an interception a game on 65.2% completion.

  • Can Arsenal beat Chelsea and turn the tide in WSL title race?

No pressure, Renee Slegers, but any hope of slowing down Chelsea in their pursuit of a sixth consecutive Women’s Super League (WSL) title rests squarely on your shoulders.

It’s only Matchday 12 of the 2024-25 season, yet it feels as though the race is already at a critical tipping point. The Blues have surged ahead, leaving the rest of the league trailing in their wake, and they now sit a commanding seven points clear of Arsenal in second.

If Arsenal lose to Chelsea on Sunday (7:30 a.m. ET. Stream live on ESPN+, U.S. only) that would stretch the gap to 10 points, and with just over half of the games played, that could prove insurmountable. Given Chelsea’s near-perfect form — they’ve dropped points only once in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City — the chances of them losing more than two games to give Arsenal a shot at closing the gap seem slim.

All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge, where the two powerhouses are set to clash in what promises to be a decisive moment. For Arsenal, the stakes couldn’t be higher. This match will decide the trajectory of their title challenge. For Chelsea, it could cement a potentially historic campaign.

Realistically, it can only be Arsenal

Manchester City‘s hopes of retaining a serious claim to the title have taken a heavy blow following their 4-2 defeat to Manchester United, leaving them two points behind their local rivals and Arsenal, both now tied on 24 points. With a mounting injury crisis further complicating matters, City now face the daunting task of hosting Arsenal on Feb. 2 — raising the stakes for the Gunners, who will be under pressure to extend their unbeaten streak.

Arsenal’s fortunes have been transformed since Slegers took charge in October following Jonas Eidevall’s resignation. In her interim spell, she led the team to an unbeaten run of 11 games across all competitions, and extended that to 12 with a commanding 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace in her first match as permanent manager. The momentum is certainly with Arsenal, but they’re not alone in the race.

While Arsenal remain the only team capable of realistically challenging Chelsea for the title, United are right in the mix, yet their inconsistency remains a serious concern. Despite being level with Arsenal, Marc Skinner’s side face a brutal end to the season, with tough fixtures against their closest rivals. While all other top three contenders face each other in the coming months — City host Chelsea on March 23 — United need to wait until the final stretch of the season.

United’s fate could be sealed by May, with matches against Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal all scheduled for their final run-in. Dropping points before those crucial games could be fatal to their title hopes, leaving them with no margin for error.

The Manchester clubs’ chances of closing the gap on Chelsea depend on Arsenal handing the Blues their first loss of the season, making the Gunners the only real team in a position to derail Chelsea’s momentum.

Arsenal’s defence can counter Chelsea’s attack

Arsenal’s struggles in recent visits to Chelsea are well-documented: they’ve failed to win any of their last five away WSL encounters, with their best result being a draw since their commanding 5-0 victory at Kingsmeadow in October 2018 under Joe Montemurro. It’s been nearly seven years since Arsenal last secured a win on Chelsea’s turf, but this time, the circumstances feel different.

“We are rivals, it’s a London derby. I think everyone involved, you can just feel it inside you,” Chelsea forward Guro Reiten told ESPN. “There’s something special about those games. It’s the games you love to win and hate to lose. And there’s been some crazy games between us the last few years. You never know what to expect.”

Both teams come into the match in good form. Chelsea remain unbeaten all season, while Arsenal have strung together that impressive 12-game unbeaten run of their own. Statistically, the Blues have dominated the offensive side, leading the league in goals scored (36), shots (220) and expected goals (25.3). Arsenal, however, have proven themselves a rock-solid defensive unit, ranking first for shots faced (81), expected goals against (6.7) and clean sheets (8). This clash is shaping up to be a true battle of dominance.

Arsenal defender Emily Fox has made it clear that Arsenal’s defensive game will be key if they hope to thwart Chelsea’s relentless attacking threats.

“Without a doubt, defensively, I need to be on top of it, whether it’s with my one-vs.-ones, or with set pieces, corners, crosses and second balls in the box,” she told ESPN. “So I think really just being on top of it.

“I feel like with Chelsea they can finish off of anything and kind of create something out of nothing. And so with that, just defensively being locked in all the time.”

Chelsea’s Reiten added: “We love playing Arsenal so it’s going to be a tough one. They have an unbelievable squad and have been very good recently, so it’s going to be challenging.”

She added that Bompastor has structured the squad to maintain focus on each upcoming match. “Every game is important though; you’ve got to prepare for every game the same. It doesn’t matter who you’re meeting,” Reiten told ESPN, emphasising that the team’s drive to win has been the key to their successful run.

“I’m not laughing or being funny [on the pitch], I want to win and I don’t care who is on that pitch. I want to win. I think every single one is like that.

“There’re going to be moments where you struggle, and you’re not playing as well as you want to, but you want to get it over the line. You need those three points and then we can work on how to improve the performance after. I think that’s been so special about us in the first half of the season; we’ve kept moving and kept moving.”

But the pressure is on Arsenal to deliver. To stand a chance of handing Chelsea their first loss of the season, they will need to be at their best, defensively and offensively. A win could be the catalyst to put real pressure on the Blues, perhaps even shaking their pursuit of a historic campaign and derailing their quest for an unbeaten season.

Girma will make Chelsea even stronger

The Blues are on track to smash the league’s points record following an impressive 31 points from a possible 33 at the season’s halfway mark. To equal the league’s record of 58 points, Chelsea will need to secure victories in nine of their remaining 11 games — no easy feat, but with their form this dominant, it’s well within their grasp.

Under former manager Emma Hayes, Chelsea went unbeaten throughout the 2017-18 WSL season, clinching the title in dominant fashion. Now, under new manager Sonia Bompastor, Chelsea have yet to taste defeat, not just in the WSL but across all competitions. It’s a remarkable streak for any team, especially in such a competitive league.

To put it in perspective, Arsenal’s historic unbeaten run in the 2006-07 season, when they achieved an unprecedented quadruple, stands as one of the finest accomplishments in domestic football. Playing 44 matches, they racked up 42 wins and two draws, a feat that now seems almost mythical.

For Bompastor to match or even surpass this achievement with Chelsea would be nothing short of extraordinary. It would require winning the elusive Champions League — a title Bompastor has already conquered both as a player and coach with Lyon. It’s the one prize that’s eluded Chelsea despite their domestic dominance. Add to that the League Cup and FA Cup, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

While Chelsea did complete a domestic treble in 2021-22, recent seasons have seen them struggle to reap success in the league, in Europe and in the cups simultaneously.

The level of competition has soared since Arsenal’s 2007 triumph, when they won the inaugural Champions League (then called the UEFA Women’s Cup.) The game is now fully professional for these clubs, and the level of competition has skyrocketed. Going unbeaten in a league in the modern game is almost unheard of; doing it across four trophy campaigns is near impossible with the growth of the women’s game.

But Chelsea’s chances of a complete sweep may be slightly more plausible with the expected signing of Naomi Girma, the United States‘ premier defender, from San Diego Wave FC. ESPN first reported Chelsea’s interest in the 24-year-old last week, and the central defender is set to become the first $1 million signing in the coming days.

Girma is a rare talent, and her arrival at Chelsea is a game-changer. With her exceptional skill, being calm under pressure and natural leadership, she will seamlessly strengthen a defence already brimming with world-class talent. As Chelsea target the final stages of the four trophies they’re chasing, her presence adds a crucial layer of stability and quality. But her signature will come too late to feature on Sunday.

Arsenal must win this crucial clash — and then secure victory over Man City a week later — to keep the pressure on in the title race, but it will be Slegers’ biggest test yet. With Chelsea’s dominance showing no signs of slowing down, Arsenal’s ability to deliver in this defining moment could determine the course of the season.

If the Gunners fail to rise to the occasion, the question looms: is there anyone capable of stopping this ever-growing, near-impervious Chelsea?

As the Women’s Super League title race heats up, all eyes will be on the upcoming clash between Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal, currently sitting in second place behind Chelsea, will be looking to secure a crucial victory and close the gap at the top of the table.

With both teams boasting a strong lineup of talented players, this match promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of the top teams in the WSL. Arsenal will be counting on the likes of Vivianne Miedema, Kim Little, and Leah Williamson to lead the charge and secure a vital win.

Can Arsenal beat Chelsea and turn the tide in the WSL title race? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – this match is sure to be one for the books. Don’t miss out on all the action as these two powerhouse teams battle it out for supremacy in the Women’s Super League.

  • Alabama Basketball: Tide too much for Vandy

Alabama took care of business at home tonight, whipping Vandy by a score of 103-87.

The first four minutes of the game weren’t terribly inspiring, as Vandy jumped out to a 7-2 lead that briefly conjured up some bad memories from the Ole Miss loss. It didn’t last, however, as Alabama locked in on both ends of the court and took a 17 point advantage into the break at 48-31.

Aden Holloway was en fuego, pacing the Tide with 16 points on perfect shooting, 6-6 from the field including two threes, and 2-2 from the line. Mo Dioubate scored nine and grabbed six boards, Jarin Stevenson played one of his best halves of the season with seven points and five boards, Mark Sears tossed in ten points and added two assists, and Grant Nelson contributed five boards. Vanderbilt was held to 33% from the field and the Tide had a healthy rebounding advantage.

Vanderbilt was scorching hot from three in the second half, and drew as close as eight as a result. Like we have seen so often this season, however, this Alabama offense was just too much to handle. Mo Dioubate was everywhere in the second half, slashing for a career high 22 points and making several blue collar highlights. Sears and Holloway joined him in the 20s. The Tide hit the century mark for the sixth time this season despite making only eight threes, a low number for this squad, though they did shoot a solid 36% from three.

This was an encouraging effort from the Tide, even if they struggled to put a torrid shooting team away. Next up is LSU in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.

    Roll Tide.

In a dominant performance, the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team proved to be too much for the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tide came out strong and never let up, ultimately securing a convincing victory.

Alabama’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with players like Jahvon Quinerly and Jaden Shackelford leading the charge. Their fast-paced style of play kept Vanderbilt on their toes and allowed the Tide to build a substantial lead early on.

Defensively, Alabama was equally impressive, stifling Vanderbilt’s scoring opportunities and forcing turnovers. The Tide’s tenacity and aggression on defense made it difficult for the Commodores to find any rhythm on offense.

Overall, it was a complete team effort from Alabama, showcasing their depth and talent. With this win, the Tide continue to prove why they are a force to be reckoned with in the SEC.

Stay tuned for more updates on Alabama basketball as they look to continue their winning ways and make a statement in the conference. Roll Tide! #AlabamaBasketball #RollTide

  • Jalen Milroe declares for 2025 NFL Draft: Crimson Tide star ranks among QBs in class as possible first-rounder

Jalen Milroe declares for 2025 NFL Draft: Crimson Tide star ranks among QBs in class as possible first-rounder

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is entering the 2025 NFL Draft, he announced via social media Thursday. Milroe, who spent two years as Alabama’s starting quarterback, brings plenty of intrigue and upside to a relatively thin crop of high-tier quarterback prospects.

“To my teammates, my brothers, thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve shared,” Milroe wrote in his announcement. “The bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime. To Coach (Nick) Saban, thank you for believeing in me and instilling the standard of excellence in me. To Coach (Kalen) DeBoer, thank you for challenging me and helping me grow into the player and leader I am today.

“To the entire Alabama family, thank you for embracing a kid from Texas and allowing me the honor of wearing the script ‘A’. Representing this university has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Milroe’s decision comes just a couple of days after Alabama’s 19-13 loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Still mulling his future, Milroe elected to play in the bowl game and made the start for the Crimson Tide. He completed just 16 of his 32 pass attempts for 192 yards and one touchdown with one interception.

That one interception was one of three turnovers that he was responsible for in the first quarter alone. Milroe was cleaner with the ball down the stretch, and he did have an impressive 40-yard rush to set up an Alabama field goal near the end of the first half. But that was the fourth time in Alabama’s last five games that Milroe failed to reach 200 yards passing.

    Milroe’s Alabama career

Milroe signed with Alabama in 2021 as a four-star prospect out of Katy, Texas’ Tompkins High School. He spent his freshman season as a backup to Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and returned in 2022, earning his first career start against Texas A&M in place of an injured Young.

Young declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season, which allowed Milroe to battle Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner and redshirt freshman Ty Simpson for the vacant starting job entering the 2023 campaign. Milroe eventually won out and, despite his benching following a loss to Texas in Week 2, returned to lead the offense when SEC play began. He was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award and finished his first year as a starter with 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns passing and 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Given his versatility, Milroe came into the 2024 season as a Heisman Trophy candidate. Though that didn’t quite come to fruition, he still tallied 3,570 total yards of offense and a whopping 20 touchdowns rushing. Milroe did throw a career-high 11 interceptions, which is more than he had from 2022-23 combined. Milroe’s 20 rushing touchdowns were the most by an Alabama QB in a single season.

    Milroe’s draft stock

Milroe seems like an ideal fit for the modern NFL game with his athleticism and big arm. He’s comfortable making plays outside of the structure and, given his 33 touchdowns rushing in four seasons with the Crimson Tide, can really hurt a defense with his legs.

Milroe does still have strides to take as a passer if he wants to be a full-time professional starter. While he has the arm talent to make throws all over the field, both his accuracy and his decision-making need more fine tuning.

Though none of CBS Sports’ draft experts projected Milroe as a first-round pick in their most recent mock drafts, Milroe currently sits at No. 32 in CBS Sports’ prospect rankings, which puts him in the conversation as a Day 1 prospect. He’s also the No. 3 quarterback directly behind Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, so it’s not out of the question that a QB-hungry team could take a shot at him early.

What it would mean for Alabama

Obviously, Milroe’s departure creates a vacancy at the most important position on the field. The Crimson Tide do have plenty of options to replace him.

Simpson, who signed with the Crimson Tide in 2022, served as Milroe’s backup in 2024 and will have every chance to win the job. He will have to fend off former Washington transfer Austin Mack to do so. Mack actually enrolled at Washington in 2023 and followed coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa when DeBoer was hired as Nick Saban’s successor, so there is plenty of familiarity between the two.

Alabama also had five-star Keelon Russell, the No. 2 prospect nationally, in 2025. He will get the opportunity to compete, though it my be difficult to unseat some of the more veteran options in front of him. The transfer portal is also an option if a clear starter does not emerge through spring practice.

Breaking news out of Tuscaloosa, as Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe has officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. The talented signal-caller has been a standout for the Tide and is now looking to take his game to the next level.

Milroe, a dual-threat quarterback, has impressed scouts and analysts with his combination of arm talent, mobility, and football IQ. In his time at Alabama, he has shown the ability to make all the throws, extend plays with his legs, and lead his team to victory in big moments.

As the draft approaches, Milroe is already being touted as one of the top quarterbacks in his class. With his skill set and potential, many believe he has the tools to be a first-round pick and a franchise quarterback at the next level.

With his decision to enter the draft, Milroe is set to embark on the next chapter of his football journey. Alabama fans will surely miss his presence on the field, but they can take pride in knowing that they were able to witness a special talent during his time in Tuscaloosa.

As the draft process unfolds, all eyes will be on Jalen Milroe as he looks to make his mark in the NFL and continue his football career at the highest level. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting prospect as he prepares for the next step in his football career. #RollTide #NFLDraft2025 #JalenMilroe

  • Jihaad Campbell 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Alabama Crimson Tide LB

Jihaad Campbell 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Alabama Crimson Tide LB

    Tale Of The Tape

Campbell is a hybrid defender whose best future likely lies off the ball in an aggressive, blitz/simulated pressure scheme. This is a talent who showcases a lot of different potential roles in how he plays defense for Alabama. He’s an impressive chess piece that can help solve several personnel issues on any given week. But, more importantly, he has a clear primary role to play in a defense, which is essential for the so-called “positionless” defensive prospects. That isn’t Campbell, who should be charged with playing stack linebacker.

Campbell illustrates impact as a run defender but playing as a scrape player and running over the top of the point of attack. He’s illustrated some really desirable reps as a plug fitter as well, although his consistency of pad level and discipline to hold ground at the point of attack in these instances needs improvement.

He’d be viable in either role, thanks to his length and hand usage to create separation before slipping blocks, plus his quickness over the top of blocks climbing into his lap. He is a physical finisher in the run game, and his tackle radius is boosted by long arms and a good secondary burst to the ball carrier.

Campbell’s play diagnosis in an off-ball role against the run can be more polished and is a growth opportunity for him. His aggressiveness and fast-to-flow nature can, at times, pull him a step or two out of leveraged positions based on eye candy and false indicators away from the football. Being more patient when reading out backfield action and trusting his athleticism will go a long way in helping him make even more plays efficiently at or near the line of scrimmage.

He’s made a number of open-field tackles that really pop for his ability to get a wrap, stand up the ball carrier, and finish without conceding a forward fall to pick up extra real estate — even if he’s tackling on a steep angle to the sideline.

He has ferocious pads to finish and is efficient, too. Campbell boasts a seven percent missed tackle rate for his Alabama career; that figure was just more than 5.5 percent in 2024.

Defending the pass is where his strength lies. He’s a capable talent to drop and play zone coverages or rush the passer. It may be tempting to relegate him to a full-time pass rusher role because of his impressive rush reps from off and on the ball in 2024, but that feels like it is doing Campbell a disservice.

He has illustrated a speed rush and rip&dip combination off the edge, showcasing good ankle flexibility and cornering skills to turn the corner tightly on a tackle and spike back up around his outside hip and back to the quarterback. But Campbell doesn’t have the kind of power throughout his frame, nor an elite first step, to truly live in this world full time, and his optimal rush role features second-level pressures that come via disguise.

Campbell has torn through some wide-open gaps from depth thanks to his ability to disguise second-level pressure and let the center turn into help for a lineman before popping uncontested through an A-gap. He is a load for backs to step up and try to handle in protection. At a minimum, he should be expected to collapse the depth of the pocket and use his length to make the quarterback uncomfortable.

Campbell can be prone to finesse counters when locked up with an offensive lineman, however — LSU’s Will Campbell dumped him on an inside spin on one occasion and would have tossed him for a second if Campbell hadn’t been pushed into a pile on the way down. He can take his rush with high pads at times and needs to expand his rush counters off the edge while knowing his profile isn’t particularly powerful.

As a coverage defender, Campbell is an effective zone option to play in the middle of the field. His anticipation of throws to checkdowns underneath after dropping to a landmark offers him the ability to minimize added yardage underneath and force the offense to work for their gains. He shows good transition skills with sufficient hips and can drive on crossers over the middle or plaster same-side breaks.

    Ideal Scheme Fit, Role

Campbell would be best served as a predominant stack linebacker at the NFL level. Simulated pressure schemes will love his ability to time up second-level rushes and allow protections to declare before hitting a gap at full speed.

His confidence in zone drops and ability to play efficiently underneath will set him up to be a productive rally player in pass coverage. His destination should regard him as an instinctive role player early on, with the ability to develop into a full-time starter for a scheme willing to allow him to wear different hats situationally.

Jihaad Campbell 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Alabama Crimson Tide LB

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, all eyes are on Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Jihaad Campbell. The 6’3″, 240-pound junior has been a force to be reckoned with on the field, showcasing his versatility and athleticism in every game he plays.

    Strengths:
    – Campbell is a sure tackler, rarely missing a tackle when he has the ball carrier in his sights. His tackling technique is fundamentally sound, and he excels at wrapping up his opponents and bringing them down to the ground.
    – He has excellent instincts and football IQ, often anticipating plays before they happen and putting himself in the right position to make a play.
    – Campbell is a natural leader on the field, vocalizing plays and directing his teammates on defense. His leadership qualities are highly valued by his coaches and teammates.
    – His speed and agility are impressive for his size, allowing him to cover a lot of ground and make plays all over the field. Campbell is also a reliable pass rusher, using his quickness to get to the quarterback and disrupt plays.

    Weaknesses:
    – While Campbell is a strong tackler, he could improve his coverage skills in passing situations. He sometimes struggles to keep up with faster receivers and tight ends, leading to big plays for the opposing offense.
    – He could benefit from adding more strength and power to his game, as he occasionally gets overpowered by bigger offensive linemen in run defense situations.
    – Campbell has had some injury concerns in the past, which could be a red flag for NFL teams looking to draft him in the upcoming draft.

Overall, Jihaad Campbell is a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, with the potential to make an immediate impact for any team lucky enough to draft him. His combination of size, speed, and football IQ make him a valuable asset on defense, and he is sure to be a key player for years to come in the NFL. Alabama fans can expect big things from Campbell in the upcoming season as he looks to solidify his status as one of the top linebackers in college football.
