  • Jennifer Tilly Breaks Down Her Finances: Homes & Designer Clothes

Jennifer Tilly‘s super-fun and fabulous life has been featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14. And in case RHOBH viewers were curious about Jennifer’s finances and money, she broke it down even further more recently, including how she was “astonished” that people were interested in her financial situation.

    How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

When speaking with E! News, she spoke more deeply on the buzzy topic. “Number one, I don’t think of myself as rich,” she said. “But I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse that costs $33,000.”

Jennifer has two houses in Bel Air right next to each other (one for living, one for entertaining), an amazing wardrobe, and a stake in The Simpsons. Jennifer noted that she thought her financial stake in The Simpsons was common knowledge.

“I thought everyone knew I had a piece of The Simpsons,” she continued. “It’s not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about.”

Jennifer Tilly says she lives “simply” with her boyfriend, Phil Laak

Although it’s easy to focus on Jennifer’s designer collection, like the Louis Vuitton boat purse (worth $22,000, according to her), she says she actually lives quite humbly. The Chucky actress explained to the outlet that she and her boyfriend, Phil Laak, focus on living with just what they need.

“My boyfriend and I live very simply and in a very small, cluttered house,” she said. “Yes, there’s a giant house next door, but we don’t go there. I guess we’re kinda delusional. I don’t have a giant mansion or a chauffeur that calls me Miss Tilly and makes out with me like Sutton [Stracke]’s chauffeur. I just live my life the way that I used to live.”

How many houses does Jennifer Tilly own?

In addition to owning her “small, cluttered” Bel Air house and the “giant house next door,” Jennifer owns more properties. The actress broke this down during RHOBH Season 14, Episode 5.

“I have a lot of properties,” she explained in a confessional interview. But, she also shared why she doesn’t spend too much time in one particular property, stating: “I have a property in Las Vegas because my boyfriend and I are professional poker players. I have a beach house in Malibu but we never go there because there’s a ghost there and he doesn’t really like us being there. I can’t blame him.”

Jennifer Tilly explains her financial connection to The Simpsons

In addition to acting and playing professional poker, as previously stated, some of Jennifer’s fortune comes from The Simpsons. Jennifer’s ex husband, the late Sam Simon, helped create the longstanding cartoon. After the couple divorced after seven years of marriage, she explained during Season 14, Episode 3, she got a little piece of it.

She said, “And then when we got divorced I got a little piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years.”

Even though Jennifer was this close to being the voice actor behind Marge Simpson, she did make a cameo as herself on The Simpsons Season 24, Episode 4. In the episode Jennifer appears as the instructor on a “How to Gamble” DVD. Super fitting for the pro poker player.

Who does Jennifer Tilly voice on Family Guy?

In addition to The Simpsons, Jennifer also has a connection to another long-running animated series: Family Guy. Jennifer has played the recurring role of Bonnie Swanson on the series since 1999.

She reflected on the role in an interview with ABC to make the show’s 25th anniversary back in 2024: “When you’re doing voiceover, you never age! There’s not very many shows where you’re playing the same character 25 years later.”

In a recent interview, actress Jennifer Tilly opened up about her finances, revealing details about her lavish lifestyle. From her multiple homes to her impressive collection of designer clothes, Tilly gave fans a glimpse into how she chooses to spend her money.

Tilly shared that she owns homes in both Los Angeles and New York City, with each property showcasing her unique style and taste. She explained that she values having a comfortable and beautiful living space, and spares no expense when it comes to decorating and furnishing her homes.

When it comes to her wardrobe, Tilly admitted to being a self-proclaimed fashion enthusiast. She confessed to owning a vast collection of designer clothing and accessories, with brands like Gucci, Chanel, and Valentino being among her favorites. Tilly explained that she sees fashion as a form of self-expression and enjoys experimenting with different styles and trends.

Despite her extravagant spending habits, Tilly emphasized the importance of financial responsibility and making smart investment decisions. She revealed that she has a team of financial advisors who help her manage her wealth and ensure that she is prepared for the future.

Overall, Tilly’s candid discussion about her finances offered a fascinating look into the life of a Hollywood star who isn’t afraid to indulge in the finer things. Her dedication to creating a comfortable and stylish living environment, as well as her love for high-end fashion, showcases her unique personality and taste.

Jennifer Tilly Doesn’t Borrow Jewels. She Buys. Siegelson New York/Getty Images

“I collect what I love,” says actress Jennifer Tilly. She references a recent auction that sent other jewelry collectors into a frenzy. She resisted. “The pieces were historical but not to my taste.” Reviewing the pieces that have passed the Tilly test—the Paul Flato aquamarine and ruby buckle necklace (worn above), the Boivin starfish brooch—that taste becomes evident. “I like big, sculptural pieces,” she says. She also believes “jewelry has energy. Before you buy anything, try it on. You will feel it.”

Which might explain the other theme that emerges from her jewelry collection. Tilly owns a charm bracelet that belonged to Joan Crawford, a brooch that Eddie Fisher gave Elizabeth Taylor, the Duchess of Windsor’s Cartier minaudière, and a piece from Norma Shearer’s personal collection. (“You know,” Tilly says, “all the actresses in The Women wore their own jewelry.”) “I like things that belonged to famous people, powerful women and movie stars. And often the stories associated with the pieces are about those forging their own way. And I wear it all. It gives me joy and feels like a statement of who I am.”

Tilly is an auction buyer, driven by a sense of opportunity and discovery. “It’s a treasure hunt. You see these pieces at a sale and realize you might never see them again. I feel physical pain when I miss out on something I wanted.” She can recount those pangs of regret in detail as she lists the jewels that got away: the Duchess of Windsor’s Cartier Flamingo brooch, Diana Vreeland’s Schlumberger, so much of Liz Taylor’s Bulgari, Marlene Dietrich’s Van Cleef rubies. But she maintains Taylor’s philosophy on jewelry: “She always reminded everyone that she didn’t see her jewelry as trophies. ‘We are only temporary custodians of beauty,’ she said, and I agree. The pieces I have now, I’m just taking care of them.”

  • Jennifer Tilly doesn’t think she’s rich despite ‘Simpsons’ divorce settlement

Jennifer Tilly may own a few luxury items and properties, but that doesn’t mean she considers herself to be wealthy.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told E! News that she doesn’t think of herself as rich, despite receiving a piece of The Simpsons in her divorce settlement from series co-creator Sam Simon in 1991. Still, she acknowledged that many people who have seen her lavish lifestyle on display on the series might believe otherwise.

“I don’t think of myself as rich, but I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse, apparently, that cost $33,000,” Tilly, 66, told the outlet. “But actually, it didn’t. It cost $22,000 — which, I’m just setting that straight right now.”

In fact, the Chucky actress said she’s been trying to downplay the price points of some of her more expensive belongings on the show. “I actually did tell them I was wearing a bunch of Bvlgari bracelets and they’re like, ‘Ooh, Jennifer, how much are those? We’d like to put the price at the bottom,’” she recalled. “And I said no.”

She also noted that others might not be aware that she owns a piece of the longest-running animated show. “It’s not a large piece,” Tilly clarified. “My boyfriend and I live very simply in a very small, cluttered house. And yes, there’s a giant house next door, but we don’t go there. So I guess we’re kind of delusional.”

In the Dec. 3 episode of RHOBH, Tilly explained that she was married to Simon, who died from colon cancer in 2015, for seven years. “When we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement,” she explained. “Nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years!”

She added with a laugh, “Honestly, every day, I’m like, ‘Thank you Sam!’”

Outside of her Simpsons settlement, Tilly has paid her own way as an Oscar-nominated actress whose credits include Bound, Monsters, Inc., and Bullets Over Broadway. However, she is perhaps best known for her role as murderous doll Tiffany Valentine in the Child’s Play franchise.

And, if that wasn’t enough, Tilly is also a professional poker player and has won over $1 million in tournaments as of 2019.

Listen to Tilly discuss her finances in the clip above.

Jennifer Tilly, the iconic actress known for her roles in films like “Bride of Chucky” and “Bound,” recently opened up about her financial status in a surprising revelation. Despite receiving a hefty divorce settlement from her ex-husband, “The Simpsons” co-creator Sam Simon, Tilly insists that she doesn’t consider herself to be rich.

RHOBHs Jennifer Tilly Does Not Consider Herself Rich Im Delusional

Jennifer Tilly is not hurting for money thanks to The Simpsons — but that doesn’t mean she identifies as wealthy.

“I don’t think of myself as rich,” Tilly, 66, told E! News on Tuesday, January 14. “But I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse apparently that cost $33,000.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who joined the show for season 14, noted that she thought “everybody knew that I had a piece of The Simpsons,” which is where a lot of her money comes from.

“It’s not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about,” she added.

During the December 3, 2024, episode of RHOBH, Tilly noted that she was married to The Simpsons creator, Sam Simon, for seven years. The pair, who were together 10 years total, got divorced in 1991 and she “got a piece” of the show in her settlement.

“Nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years,” Tilly said on the show. “So every day, honestly, every day I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam!’” (Simon died in 2015 at the age of 59.)

During the same episode, costar Erika Jayne pointed out that Tilly owned an extremely rare $33,000 Louis Vuitton handbag, which she said wasn’t exactly accurate.

“Actually, it didn’t. It cost $33,000, which I’m just setting that straight right now,” Tilly told E! “They must have had some intern look it up. It’s very rare, maybe on the secondary market they jacked up the price, but I called my purse contact, and I said, ‘How much did I pay for that purse?’ She said, ‘$22,000.’”

While the handbag price was slightly off, Tilly revealed that she does own four homes: three in California and one in Las Vegas.

Even with all her properties, Tilly was adamant that she lives humbly with her boyfriend in a “very small, cluttered house.”

In a recent interview, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Jennifer Tilly revealed that she doesn’t consider herself to be rich, despite being a part of the iconic Simpsons fortune.

Despite her successful acting career and lucrative voiceover work, Tilly admitted that she still struggles to see herself as wealthy.

“I know I have been fortunate in my career, but I don’t think of myself as rich,” Tilly said. “I’ve always been very frugal and mindful of my spending. I prefer to live a simple and modest lifestyle, even though I could easily afford to live a more lavish one.”

  • RHOBH’s Jennifer Tilly Clarifies Her Wealth After Simpsons Divorce

    Phylicia J. L. Munn/Bravo

“The thing I was astonished by, people thought that that was fabulous,” the Chucky star recounted. “They were like, ‘She has a house next door to her house and she bought a $4,000 dress for her doll.’ They’re like ‘high five.’ I thought people would be like, ‘That’s horrible that she spent that much money for a dress for her doll when people are hungry.’ But I think the service that Housewives serves is people like to live vicariously through us.”

And despite showcasing her luxe lifestyle on TV, TIlly still believes “it’s kind of gauche to flaunt your wealth”—and money cannot buy you happiness.

“This is why people love Housewives,” she noted. “‘They’re so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgeon that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they’re still not happy.’ That is the key to Housewives. As for the ultra-rare Louis Vuitton boat purse she flaunted earlier this season, Tilly clarified the designer bag’s true retail price.

Fans of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were left in shock after learning that newcomer Jennifer Tilly was going through a divorce from her husband, The Simpsons creator Sam Simon. With rumors swirling about the financial implications of the split, Tilly took to social media to clarify her wealth and set the record straight.

In a heartfelt post, Tilly explained that while she may have been married to a wealthy man, she has always had her own successful career as an actress and poker player. She made it clear that she is not solely reliant on Simon’s fortune and has built her own wealth through hard work and dedication.

Tilly went on to thank her fans for their support during this difficult time and expressed her gratitude for the opportunities that have come her way. She reminded everyone that wealth does not define a person’s worth and that she is focused on moving forward and creating a positive future for herself.

As the drama continues to unfold on RHOBH, it’s clear that Jennifer Tilly is a force to be reckoned with and will not let her divorce define her. Her strength and resilience are an inspiration to us all.

“RHOBH’s Jennifer Tilly doesn’t think she’s rich despite ‘Simpsons’ divorce settlement: ‘I guess I’m delusional’

Jennifer Tilly, the former wife of “The Simpsons” co-creator Sam Simon, recently opened up about her finances in a candid interview. Despite receiving a hefty divorce settlement from her ex-husband, Tilly admitted that she doesn’t consider herself to be wealthy.

In the interview, Tilly expressed her disbelief at the idea that she is considered rich. She said, “I guess I’m delusional because I don’t really think of myself as being rich. I mean, I have a nice house and I can afford to live comfortably, but I don’t have yachts and private jets like some of the other people in Hollywood.”

Tilly’s humility is refreshing in a world where wealth and status are often flaunted. Despite her divorce settlement and successful acting career, she remains grounded and down-to-earth.

Fans of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” may be surprised to learn that Tilly doesn’t see herself as a wealthy socialite. Her honesty and self-awareness make her a relatable figure, even among the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

It’s clear that Jennifer Tilly’s wealth doesn’t define her. She may not consider herself rich, but her talent, wit, and authenticity are worth more than any amount of money.”
