The Rise of Managed Service Providers: How Outsourcing IT Support Can Save You Time and Money
In today’s fast-paced business world, technology plays a crucial role in the success of any organization. From streamlining operations to improving customer service, having a reliable IT infrastructure is essential. However, managing and maintaining this infrastructure can be a daunting task for many businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with limited resources. This is where managed service providers (MSPs) come in. MSPs are third-party companies that offer a range of IT services, from network monitoring and cybersecurity to cloud computing and helpdesk support. By outsourcing their IT needs to an MSP, businesses can save time and money while ensuring their technology runs smoothly and securely.
One of the key benefits of working with an MSP is cost savings. Instead of hiring and training an in-house IT team, businesses can simply pay a monthly fee to an MSP for their services. This eliminates the need for expensive salaries, benefits, and equipment, resulting in significant cost savings for the business.
Moreover, MSPs have the expertise and experience to handle a wide range of IT tasks, from routine maintenance to complex troubleshooting. This allows businesses to focus on their core operations and strategic goals, rather than getting bogged down in technical issues.
Another advantage of working with an MSP is scalability. As businesses grow and their IT needs evolve, MSPs can easily scale their services to meet those needs. This flexibility ensures that businesses always have the right level of support, without having to invest in additional resources or technology.
Additionally, MSPs offer proactive monitoring and maintenance services, which can help prevent costly downtime and security breaches. By continuously monitoring the network and systems for potential issues, MSPs can identify and resolve problems before they escalate, minimizing disruptions to the business.
In conclusion, the rise of managed service providers has revolutionized the way businesses approach IT support. By outsourcing their IT needs to an MSP, businesses can save time and money, improve efficiency, and enhance security. With the expertise and resources of an MSP on their side, businesses can focus on what they do best, while leaving their IT worries in capable hands.
‘Wolf Man’ and ‘September 5’ now available at home; Florence Pugh, Andrew Garfield romance ‘We Live in Time’ hits Max
After Universal tried and failed to usher in a new era of their classic monster movies, 2020’s The Invisible Man helped resurrect the concept with Leigh Whannell’s clever and thoroughly modern take on the story.
Not only was that movie a hit with both audiences and critics, but it also seemed to provide a much-needed template for Universal to update its beloved characters to reflect the times. It took five years, but the studio has finally made a proper follow-up in Wolf Man, and they brought back Whannell to try his hand again.
The response to Wolf Man was markedly different than that of The Invisible Man, regarding both box office and critical reception. But is it worth your time? It debuted on digital this week, 17 days after its theatrical release, so you can find out for yourself.
Wolf Man isn’t the only movie newly available on streaming this week — the critically acclaimed, ripped-from-the-headlines period journalism thriller September 5 is out now, and A24’s hit romance We Live in Time, starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, hits Max.
The Pharrell Williams Lego biopic Piece by Piece is out on Peacock, which could be appealing to kids and parents alike. For after the kids go to bed, Kill, a hyper-violent action-thriller from India that earned rave reviews, is available on Hulu.
Here’s what to know about the theatrical movies newly available to stream as of this week and where you can find them.

Wolf Man
Julia Garner in Wolf Man. (Courtesy of Universal Pictures/Everett Collection)
Wolf Man sets up a loaded metaphor in its terrific, tense opening sequence: A boy and his overbearing survivalist father hunting in the woods encounter some sort of animalistic creature. As the movie progresses, it becomes clear there’s not enough meat on the bone for the analogy they’re going for regarding parenthood, trauma, abuse and how we’re doomed to become our parents, no matter how hard we try to stray from the path.
It’s heavy stuff for a movie that could stand to have some fun, but there are still elements worthy of praise, including the practical makeup effects on the wolf transformation and the impactful, but all-too-brief moments of body horror. Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner are two great performers, but it’s hard to get a read on their characters.
Wolf Man is ambitious enough to recommend to those who like their genre fare more offbeat, but it doesn’t come together in the same satisfying way that Whannell’s previous effort did.
How to watch: Wolf Man is now available to rent or purchase on Prime Video and other video on demand platforms.
We Live in Time
Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield in We Live in Time. (Courtesy of A24/Everett Collection)
Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh star in A24’s romance We Live in Time, which you may want to watch with a box of tissues nearby. It’s all about the inventive structure here, as it’s a story you’ve otherwise likely seen before. The movie is told nonlinearly, turning it into a sort of puzzle you solve as it goes.
It’s a neat trick to keep you engaged in what could be overly familiar, weepy material, and both Pugh and Garfield are great in it as a couple that we see go through many ups and downs over a decade. It’s refreshing that the movie isn’t afraid to present the hardships as equally as it depicts the good times.
How to watch: We Live in Time is now streaming on Max.
September 5

September 5 has to be one of the most overlooked and underseen movies of 2024. It earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture — Drama, and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars, but still, it feels like few people have seen or heard of this movie.
Maybe some of that has to do with the fact that it is about events that were already famously depicted in the capital-G Great Munich, which Steven Spielberg directed. Still, that shouldn’t affect your interest in September 5, which tells a separate story.
It’s a journalism process movie that takes place during the 1972 Munich Olympics, when an American sports broadcasting crew found itself thrust into covering the hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. It may be a journalism movie, and a great one at that, but it’s also a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, as the sports journalists and the news junkies jockey to cover it effectively.
It’s about big ethical questions and moral quandaries that are as relevant today as they were in 1972, and you get the sense this moment in time was important in establishing broadcast journalism as we know it. A terrific nuts-and-bolts “how tough decisions get made in real time” movie!
How to watch: September 5 is now available to rent or purchase on Prime Video and other video on demand platforms.
Piece by Piece
Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams in Lego form in Piece by Piece. (Courtesy of Focus Features/Everett Collection)
Piece by Piece isn’t the first animated movie to use the Lego aesthetic, but it’s certainly the first biopic about a real person to be depicted in Lego.
It’s not as strange as it sounds, and the movie actually does a good job of setting up why exactly you’re watching a movie about legendary music producer and musician Pharrell Williams in Lego form. Pharrell has synesthesia, which allows him to essentially see music, which alone is a clever justification for the colorful world in the movie.
There’s an infectious and inspiring creative energy that’s hard to ignore, and if the story of Williams’s rise from rags to riches wasn’t compelling enough, the soundtrack of wall-to-wall bangers that he either produced or sang on himself is undeniable.
How to watch: Piece by Piece is now streaming on Peacock.
Kill
Amrit Rathod in Kill. (Roadside Attractions/Courtesy of Everett Collection)
If you love a good revenge movie and you don’t mind a lot of blood and nonstop violence, the aptly titled Kill is for you. The plot is high-concept, yet simple: A guy is out for revenge, killing those who have wronged him, except it’s set entirely on a moving train.
Kill doesn’t pull a bait-and-switch exactly, but the degree to which the tenor of the violence changes after a certain death at the midpoint of the movie is unexpected and harrowing. A movie that revels in violent deaths suddenly starts showing you that every death means the world to someone — what was once just bombastic entertainment has been rendered upsetting and hard to shake.
Kill does a great job of building emotional stakes so the audience cares about what’s going on, and thankfully, the action is also shot well and choreographed so there’s rarely a dull moment.
How to watch: Kill is now streaming on Hulu.

Aston Villa vs. Tottenham Hotspur: FA Cup 4th round game time, live blog, and how to watch online
All the good Tottenham Hotspur vibes that had started to build again over the last few weeks went straight out the window following Liverpool’s demolition of the Lilywhites in the EFL Cup midweek. There’s no time for Spurs to lick their wounds, however, with a short turnaround before today’s match against Aston Villa.
Spurs are in the fourth round courtesy of a labored victory over National League side Tamworth, and Villa are just a few rungs higher on the English football ladder. The Villains will be fresh as well, having had the week off to prepare while Spurs crashed out of another cup competition.
Regardless, Ange Postecoglou will be keen to turn things around, with a little help from his January reinforcements. Two of those, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, were able to hold their heads high in the defeat to Liverpool, and will surely be in the starting lineup with injuries aplenty both in defense and the forward line. Can Spurs overcome whatever fresh hell the universe serves up this time and come away victorious?

#Aston #Villa #Tottenham #Hotspur #Cup #4th #game #time #live #blog #watch #onlineDJ Hernandez sentenced to time served in shooting threats case
HARTFORD, Conn. — The brother of the late New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was sentenced Friday to 18 months of prison time already served for threatening to carry out a shooting at the University of Connecticut and to kill three people, including a judge, in 2023.
Dennis Hernandez, 38, who went by “DJ” while playing quarterback and wide receiver for UConn football in the mid-2000s, was suffering severe mental health problems at the time of the threats and has since received treatment and medication, according to his public defender, Josh Ewing.
U.S. District Judge Sarala Nagala in Hartford also sentenced Hernandez to three years of supervised release, during which he must continue mental health and substance abuse treatment, allow probation officials to monitor his electronic devices and stay away from UConn and other locations he threatened, the Connecticut U.S. attorney’s office said.
Hernandez, who apologized for his actions during brief comments in court, was expected to be released from custody Friday afternoon, The Hartford Courant reported. Federal Bureau of Prison records showed he was no longer in custody Friday evening.
A message left at a phone listed for Hernandez was not immediately returned.
State criminal charges in Connecticut and Florida in other cases — including allegations he threw a brick with a note critical of the media onto ESPN headquarters property in Bristol, Connecticut — are expected to be dismissed because of the federal case, Ewing said, adding that those incidents happened during the same mental health crisis.
Ewing did not immediately return phone and email messages after the sentencing. In court documents, he wrote that Hernandez was “horrified” at how his actions terrified others, is remorseful and committed to maintaining his mental health.
Hernandez pleaded guilty to a felony — transmitting interstate communications containing a threat to injure — in December.
Police said he drove to the UConn campus and to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he once served as quarterbacks coach, to “map the schools out” for a shooting in July 2023. Court filings said Hernandez was struggling financially, was frustrated at seeing other people get hired as football coaches and felt owed by UConn.
Also that month, prosecutors said Hernandez made multiple Facebook posts threatening to harm or kill three people who live in other states, including a state court judge.
His mother, Terri Hernandez, told police around the time of his 2023 arrest in Bristol that he had deteriorating mental health problems, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Dennis Hernandez was shocked with a Taser and taken into custody after he came out of his sister’s house with his arms raised, yelling “shoot me” and threatening to harm officers, police said.
Terri Hernandez and several other relatives and friends wrote letters to the judge supporting Dennis Hernandez asking that he be released from detention.
DJ Hernandez, the brother of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, has been sentenced to time served in a case involving shooting threats.DJ Hernandez was arrested in May after allegedly making threats to shoot someone during an argument in Connecticut. He was charged with reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
After spending several months in jail awaiting trial, DJ Hernandez appeared in court on Tuesday where he was sentenced to time served. The judge also ordered him to complete anger management classes and to stay away from the victim.
This case has garnered attention due to DJ Hernandez’s connection to his brother Aaron, who was convicted of murder in 2015 and ultimately took his own life in prison.
It remains to be seen how DJ Hernandez will move forward from this incident, but for now, he has been given a second chance with his sentence of time served.

‘Real Time’ host Bill Maher did not rule out Trump’s plans for the Gaza Strip
“Real Time” host Bill Maher didn’t completely rule out President Donald Trump’s plans for the Gaza Strip, siding with the idea that the war-torn territory “could be something else” in the future.
Trump made international headlines this week for saying the U.S. would “take over” and “level” Gaza after Israel ends its war with Hamas, displacing the Palestinian population to other Arab countries while developing what Trump called the “riviera of the Middle East” in order to bring stability in the region.
During his panel discussion, Maher told his guest Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., that there was a “little daylight” between the two of them on the subject.
JOURNALISTS SOUND ALARM OVER TRUMP’S ‘PREPOSTEROUS’ GAZA COMMENTS, WARN OF ‘ETHNIC CLEANSING’
“He said, ‘You know, it’s going to be the riviera-‘ okay, that’s a little ridiculous,” Maher said. “But you know, this idea that it could be Dubai instead of Haiti, which is really what it is. it’s just like Haiti, run by a criminal gang, by a terrorist mafia gang. That’s why it’s a hellhole, not just for the Israelis next door, but for the people who live there, who hate Hamas as well. And it could be something else.”
“This is something I read in op-eds in The New York Times, 10, 15, 20 years ago. Gaza does not have to be that. It could be something closer to Dubai. So the fact that Donald Trump, in his childlike way, throws that idea out there, is not the worst thing in the world,” Maher continued.
“Real Time” host Bill Maher said President Trump’s idea about rebuilding the Gaza Strip is “not the worst thing in the world.” (Screenshot/HBO)
The liberal comedian went on to call out Trump’s comments being “all over the map,” including when he suggested the U.S. would be responsible for clearing out the explosives hidden in Gaza’s infrastructure, sarcastically asking “What could go wrong?”
“And again, the kernel of an idea here is valid, but the idea, but introducing the notion of American troops, and also, wouldn’t this be kind of expensive for you America First people?” Maher asked Donalds.
Puck News’ Tara Palmeri interjected, “It’s like Donald Trump wants to turn Gaza into Atlantic City, but like, let’s not forget how he left Atlantic City.”
“I don’t know if I’d leave him to Gaza,” Palmeri told Maher.
BILL MAHER LAMENTS THAT EVERYTHING IN GOVERMENT IS ‘BROKEN,’ BUT IS CONVINCED TRUMP ISN’T THE ANSWER
U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu answer questions during a joint press conference in the East Room at the White House in Washington, U.S., February 4, 2025 ( REUTERS/Leah Millis)
Donalds pushed back, saying he’d rather have Trump call the shots with Gaza “than the Iranians.”
“Even the American troops piece that has been pulled back. That’s not the case. But you have to have some vision for what that part of the region should be,” Donalds said. “So is it [Israeli] involvement? Yes. Could it be Saudi Arabia as well? Could be. It depends on what the other nations in that region want, but what nobody wants is an Iran that is dominating that region.”
“I agree with the notion that it’s good to open a window and let in some fresh air, because people do get locked into silly ideas that we then take as the group think,” Maher responded. “For example, Syrian Civil War, all those refugees, a million wound up in Germany. Saudi Arabia took none. And we all just pretend this makes sense? That no other Arab countries will take refugees who you say are your brethren?”

“I personally think that’s actually the mislogic of a lot of liberal-leaning leaders in Europe and in America,” Donalds continued, “thinking that you can just take refugees from these parts of the world and not think through the detailed steps of what it is for those countries to rebuild.”
“And I’m not talking about nation building a la George W. Bush, I’m not talking about that, but you’ve got to have leadership in that region. There have to be peace accords in that region. And so when President Trump was leaving the first time, that was the premise of the Abraham accords. Have the Arab states with Israel actually work together in peace so you can actually develop a stable, political, religious, whatever they choose that to be, and an economic area so people can live in harmony and peace, period,” Donalds added.
In a recent episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the outspoken host did not shy away from discussing President Trump’s controversial plans for the Gaza Strip. Despite criticism from many, Maher did not outright dismiss the idea, stating that Trump’s unconventional approach may actually bring about some positive change in the region. The discussion sparked a heated debate among Maher’s guests and audience members, with some expressing concern about the potential consequences of Trump’s actions in Gaza. However, Maher stood firm in his belief that it’s important to consider all perspectives and not automatically dismiss ideas simply because they come from an unconventional source.
As always, Maher’s willingness to engage in difficult conversations and challenge prevailing opinions made for a thought-provoking and controversial episode of Real Time. Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Maher is never afraid to tackle the tough topics head-on.

1’: LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Vincent Kompany is rolling with the guys that he trusts and performed well in the first half against Holstein Kiel. The only change from that starting lineup is Sacha Boey replacing Konrad Laimer. Luckily, Laimer is still available and will be one of the first substitutes.
Bonus note: After extending his contract earlier this month, 16-year old attacker Wisdom Mike (no relation to Prison Mike or Date Mike) is on the 18-man roster today. If the game is tight, it is unlikely that he is selected ahead of Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller, Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka, or even Gabriel Vidovic. But if Bayern can build an insurmountable lead, this might be the inaugural appearance of a bright, young player.
In the Hinrunde, Bayern Munich walloped Werder Bremen with a 5-0 victory at the Weserstadion. Bayern has only dropped points once this season at the Allianz Arena and this matchup should not be any different. Vincent Kompany will demand 60 solid minutes from his starters to take a commanding lead before resting them in advance of the midweek Champions League clash at Celtic. It feels unlikely that Bayern will repeat the inconceivable act of conceding three unanswered goals in the second half.
Odds: Bayern (-900), Draw (+900), Werder Bremen (+1600), Over/Under 3.5 goals
Prediction: Bayern wins 4-2. After the first 15 minutes of Bayern dominating possession, Marvin Ducksch heads in a corner to give Bremen a surprising lead. Five minutes later, Jamal Musiala goes rage mode and dribbles through five Bremen defenders to bring the game level. Right before halftime, Michael Olise bends light itself with a curling left footed shot from the top of the box. In the second half, Andre Silva ties the game again with a back post finish. In the 80th minute, Harry Kane scores a rebound on his 20th touch of the game. In stoppage time, Thomas Müller puts the game out of reach and celebrates like he has just won the Quidditch Cup for Gryffindor.
It’s Bayern time.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs punched their tickets to Super Bowl LIX with wins on Championship Sunday. The biggest game of the season will take place at the Caesars Superdome — home of the Saints — in New Orleans, Louisiana on Feb. 9, 2025, and will kick off at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET.
New Orleans was originally granted Super Bowl LVIII, but the league changing the length of the regular season forced it to alter plans. When the NFL went from 17 to 18 weeks, the Super Bowl got pushed back a week and created a conflict that year with Mardi Gras celebrations already scheduled.
Instead of the Caesars Superdome hosting in 2024, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was the backdrop of last year’s Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
The Superdome is an important building to the people of New Orleans and was a place of refuge for 30,000 evacuees impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They feared the stadium would need to be demolished, but they were able to reconstruct it. The stadium has also hosted events and concerts throughout the years.

New Orleans is rich in culture and the city plans to show the football fans attending what a good time the Big Easy can be.
“We’re about to put on one of the largest open parties on the planet,” said Marcus Brown, who is the chair of the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX host committee.
New Orleans is tied with Miami for most Super Bowls hosted by a city. With the eighth championship held at Caesars Superdome, the stadium is extending its own record for most Super Bowls hosted by a stadium.
Super Bowl IV was the first Super Bowl hosted in New Orleans, taking place in 1970. The last Super Bowl hosted in New Orleans was in 2013 for Super Bowl XLVII, when John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh faced off in the “Harbaugh Bowl.”
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a memorable game that also had a halftime show to remember, featuring Beyoncé and a Destiny’s Child reunion. The lights turned off after their performance, delaying the game.
Here is a look at all Super Bowls hosted in New Orleans:
- Super Bowl IV: Kansas City Chiefs 23, Minnesota Vikings 7
- Super Bowl VI: Dallas Cowboys 24, Miami Dolphins 3
- Super Bowl IX: Pittsburgh Steelers 16, Minnesota Vikings 6
- Super Bowl XII: Dallas Cowboys 27, Denver Broncos 10
- Super Bowl XV: Oakland Raiders 27, Philadelphia Eagles 10

Auburn and Duke remain 1-2 atop The Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll for the third straight week, while Maryland is back in the rankings for the first time in nearly two years.
Bruce Pearl’s Tigers (20-1) held the No. 1 ranking for the fourth consecutive week in Monday’s poll and the third in a row as the unanimous choice. Auburn has claimed 246 of 248 first-place votes over the past month while remaining unbeaten in a rugged Southeastern Conference with nine ranked teams.
Auburn’s only loss came to Jon Scheyer’s Blue Devils (19-2), who enter the week with the nation’s longest winning streak at 15 games after rolling past rival North Carolina.
The two teams offered the only stability after 15 teams in last week’s AP Top 25 lost last week, with three of those losing twice.
The top tier
Alabama moved up a spot to No. 3, followed by Tennessee jumping four spots to No. 4 in an SEC-heavy top tier. Houston climbed one spot to No. 5 despite an overtime loss to now-No. 13 Texas Tech to end a 33-game home winning streak.
Florida was next at No. 6, followed by Purdue, Iowa State, Michigan State and Texas A&M to round out the top 10.
Rising
Texas Tech (17-4) had the biggest jump among last week’s ranked teams, rising nine spots to 13th after beating TCU at home and then beating the Cougars despite coach Grant McCasland and forward JT Toppin being ejected early.
Two-time reigning national champion UConn climbed six spots to No. 19 after winning at Marquette, while Missouri jumped five spots to No. 15 after beating Mississippi State.
In all, 10 teams moved up from their positions last week. That included Rick Pitino’s St. John’s team rising three spots to No. 12, the highest ranking for the program since finishing the 1999-2000 season at No. 9.
Sliding
Mississippi State had the week’s biggest tumble, falling eight spots to No. 22 after home losses to Alabama and Missouri. Iowa State joined the Bulldogs in a two-loss week, falling five spots after losses to Arizona and Kansas State.
No. 16 Kansas and No. 23 Illinois also fell five spots, pushing the list of sliding teams to 10.
Welcome
No. 18 Maryland, No. 20 Arizona and No. 24 Michigan were the week’s three new additions.
Kevin Willard’s Terrapins (17-5) jumped into the poll at No. 18 after pushing its winning streak to four games, a stretch that includes winning at then-No. 17 Illinois and beating then-No. 17 Wisconsin at home last week.
That gave Maryland its first poll ranking in nearly two years, the last coming with a week at No. 21 in late February 2023.
Arizona (15-6) returned to the poll for the first time since November. The Wildcats opened the year at No. 10 and peaked at ninth, but they’re back in after winning 11 of 12 — including against Iowa State after Caleb Love hit a halfcourt shot to force overtime.
Michigan (16-5) has two previous stints in the poll this season, peaking at No. 14 in early December.
Farewell (for now)
Oregon was one of the three departures from this week’s poll, falling out from No. 16 after being one of the trio to lose twice last week by falling at UCLA and at home to Nebraska. Louisville (No. 21) and Vanderbilt (No. 24) also fell out after losses to unranked foes.
Conference watch
The SEC had at least nine teams in the poll for the seventh straight week, including three weeks with 10 teams to make up 40% of the poll. The SEC has also had at least half of the top 10 eight times in nine weeks, peaking at six teams on Jan. 6. No other league has had more than six ranked teams in any week this season.
Maryland’s arrival pushed the Big Ten to six ranked teams, followed by the Big 12 with five and the Big East with three. The Atlantic Coast and American Athletic conferences each had one.

In the latest AP Top 25 rankings, Auburn and Duke are holding strong at the top two spots. Auburn, coming off a dominant performance, remains undefeated and is showing no signs of slowing down. Duke, led by their star player, continues to prove why they are a force to be reckoned with. One of the biggest surprises in this week’s rankings is Maryland jumping into the top 25 for the first time since 2023. The Terrapins have been making noise this season with some impressive wins, and their hard work has finally paid off with a spot in the rankings.
