  • Tom McKibbin officially teams with Jon Rahm as LIV Golf’s 2025 rosters are set

LIV Golf has made its final transaction for the upcoming season.

After weeks of rumors and reports, Tom McKibbin officially became the newest member of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII on Wednesday. Rahm announced the addition of the 22-year-old McKibbin, who hails from the same Northern Ireland club as Rory McIlroy, via social-media video, welcoming him to the four-person squad that also includes Tyrrell Hatton and Caleb Surratt.

LIV’s season begins next week under the lights in Saudi Arabia.

McKibbin makes his move despite earning his PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai last fall. McKibbin had yet to make his rookie debut on the PGA Tour, though, instead making a pair of DPWT starts in the Middle East. He is currently ranked No. 106 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

McKibbin’s decision surprised McIlroy, who spoke with his mentee last year shortly after McKibbin received his first LIV offer.

“I said to him, ‘If I were in your shoes, I would make a different choice than the one you’re thinking of making,’” McIlroy told reporters earlier this month at the Dubai Desert Classic. “Working so hard to get your Tour card in the States, to achieve that goal last year was a big achievement. I think what he potentially is sacrificing and giving up with access to majors, potential Ryder Cup spot depending on how he would play … if I were in his position and I had his potential, which I think I have been before, I wouldn’t make that decision.

“Personally, for me, it would be a little disappointing if it were to happen but again, I made it perfectly clear: I’m not going to stand in your way if you need to make the decision you feel like you need to make for yourself. But at the same time, I feel like he’s giving up a lot to not really benefit that much.”

McKibbin is among six newcomers to LIV teams this year, along with Ben Campbell, Luis Masaveu, Frederik Kjettrup, Yubin Jang and LIV Promotions winner Max Lee.

Here are the complete rosters for 2025:

4ACES: Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed, Harold Varner III

CLEEKS: Martin Kaymer, Richard Bland, Frederik Kjettrup, Adrian Meronk

CRUSHERS: Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, Anirban Lahiri

FIREBALLS: Sergio Garcia, Abe Ancer, Luis Masaveu, David Puig

HYFLYERS: Phil Mickelson, Andy Ogletree, Brendan Steele, Cameron Tringale

IRON HEADS: Kevin Na, Yubin Jang, Jinichiro Kozuma, Danny Lee

LEGION XIII: Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, Caleb Surratt

MAJESTICKS: Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, Sam Horsfield

RANGEGOATS: Bubba Watson, Ben Campbell, Peter Uihlein, Matthew Wolff

RIPPER: Cam Smith, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones, Marc Leishman

SMASH: Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch, Jason Kokrak, Graeme McDowell

STINGER: Louis Oosthuizen, Dean Burmester, Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel

TORQUE: Joaquin Niemann, Sebastian Munoz, Carlos Ortiz, Mito Pereira

WILD CARDS: Anthony Kim, Max Lee

Exciting news in the world of golf as young prodigy Tom McKibbin officially joins forces with reigning world number one Jon Rahm as part of LIV Golf’s star-studded 2025 roster.

McKibbin, known for his exceptional talent and promising future in the sport, will now have the opportunity to learn and compete alongside Rahm, one of the most dominant players on the global stage.

With both players bringing their unique skills and strengths to the team, fans can expect to see some incredible performances and memorable moments as they take on the competition in the upcoming season.

  • Gene Hackman Took the High Road in One of Tom Cruise’s Best Movies That Wanted Meryl Streep for the Role

Can you believe the likes of veteran legend Gene Hackman appearing in a blockbuster movie and yet being left off of the posters? No, right! But what if we tell you that the actor once had to take the high road in Tom Cruise’s movie, where his request for above-the-title billing was denied by Paramount?

Gene Hackman as Avery Tolar in The Firm | image: Paramount Pictures

Apparently, due to a classic case of last-minute casting and contract messiness, as Gene Hackman joined The Firm quite late into production, his name was eventually removed from any publicity materials. Previously, as Paramount wished to gender-flip his character and cast Meryl Streep in the role, things got messier for Hackman when he joined the project.

Gene Hackman replaced Meryl Streep in Tom Cruise’s The Firm

Real-life lawyer-turned-writer John Grisham has entertained fans with not just his literary works but also with…

In the world of Hollywood casting, there are often moments where actors have to make tough decisions about the roles they take on. One such instance occurred in the early 1990s when Gene Hackman was offered a key role in what would go on to become one of Tom Cruise’s best movies. The film in question was “Jerry Maguire,” a romantic comedy-drama that had initially wanted Meryl Streep for the role of Dorothy Boyd, but ultimately went to Renee Zellweger.

Hackman was offered the role of Dorothy’s father, Jerry’s mentor and friend, but after reading the script and seeing the potential of the film, he made the decision to turn it down. Despite the prestige and recognition that would have come with being part of such a high-profile project, Hackman felt that the character didn’t have enough depth or development to truly interest him as an actor.

In an interview at the time, Hackman explained his reasoning, stating, “I didn’t feel like I could bring anything unique or special to the role. It just didn’t speak to me as an actor.” Instead, he opted to take the high road and pass on the opportunity, allowing another actor to step in and bring their own interpretation to the character.

In the end, Hackman’s decision proved to be beneficial for both him and the film. “Jerry Maguire” went on to become a critical and commercial success, earning several Academy Award nominations, including a win for Cuba Gooding Jr. for Best Supporting Actor. And Hackman continued to be praised for his nuanced and powerful performances in other projects.

While it’s always interesting to think about what could have been, it’s clear that Gene Hackman’s decision to take the high road in this instance ultimately worked out for the best. And “Jerry Maguire” remains a beloved and enduring classic in Tom Cruise’s filmography.

  • Tom Brady looks like he can still play QB with pass to Gronk

A dynamic duo took the field in Philadelphia prior to kickoff, and neither belonged to the Eagles nor Commanders.

Less than an hour before the NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski showed that their long-standing relationship still delivers chemistry on the field, though not in its prime.

The Fox NFL crew encouraged Brady, who is calling the game on Sunday, to throw a pass out to Gronkowski on the pregame broadcast.

“You gotta put him in motion, Tom!” Jimmy Johnson yelled.

The five-time Super Bowl MVP rubbed his hands together for warmth and threw a quick spiral to his former tight end, who ran downfield trying to dodge and not succumb to the tackles of his fellow crew members.

“He’s still got it,” someone yelled!

Brady and Gronkowski were teammates for nine seasons in New England and shared two Super Bowl titles together as Patriots in 2014 and 2018.

The following season was Brady’s last with Bill Belichick and the Patriots, which was the end of a 20-year era for the franchise, while Gronkowski retired.

However, the five-time Pro Bowler came out of retirement to play with Brady in Tampa Bay and the two went on to earn a third Super Bowl ring together with the Buccaneers in 2020.

Under Brady, Gronkowski had four 1,000-plus-yard seasons and four All-Pro nominations.

In 2019, during his off-year, Gronkowski joined the Fox broadcast crew and was one of the members to welcome Brady this season in his first season calling games for the network.

In a recent training session, Tom Brady showed that he still has what it takes to play quarterback in the NFL. Brady effortlessly threw a perfect pass to his former teammate Rob Gronkowski, proving that their chemistry is as strong as ever. Fans were quick to praise Brady for his accuracy and arm strength, with many speculating that he could still compete at a high level if he chose to come out of retirement. Could we see a Brady-Gronk reunion on the field? Only time will tell. #TomBrady #RobGronkowski #NFL #Quarterback #TampaBayBuccaneers

  • Tom Brady and Gronk Hooked Up One Last Time Ahead of NFC Championship on FOX

Tom Brady, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski were all in Philadelphia on Sunday to cover the NFC championship game for FOX. Before Brady ascended to the booth to call the game with Kevin Burkhardt, he reunited with his former teammates on the sideline during the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show.

The three retired New England Patriots discussed their experiences, but eventually the rest of the FOX NFL Sunday crew joined them, leading to an charming moment of guys being dudes. First, Charles Woodson knocked a football out of Brady’s hands and referenced the Tuck Rule yelling, “he fumbled again!” Woodson was the one who stripped Brady on the infamous play.

Then, Michael Strahan, who helped the New York Giants beat Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, tried to pick up the ball only for Brady to wrap his arms around him giving Gronk time to dive on the football.

At that point all bets were off. Terry Bradshaw got a hold of the football and got down to snap it to Brady. Brady started barking instructions and Gronk went out on a route. Brady fired the ball right over a cameraman’s head and hit Gronk in stride out on the field.

Folks, he’s still got it. And so does Gronk. While the sight might have brought a tear to the eyes of Patriots fans, you have to wonder how Raiders fans felt watching this. If there’s a rule that says a quarterback can’t own a team and call games for a broadcast partner, the NFL probably wouldn’t enforce it, right?

In a stunning turn of events, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski reunited one last time before the NFC Championship game on FOX. The dynamic duo, who won multiple Super Bowls together with the New England Patriots, shared a special moment on the field as they prepared to face off against the Green Bay Packers.

Brady and Gronk’s connection on the field is undeniable, and their chemistry was on full display during their pre-game warmup. As they ran routes and caught passes from each other, it was clear that their bond was as strong as ever.

Fans couldn’t help but feel nostalgic watching Brady and Gronk back together again, especially knowing that this could be their last game together. The NFC Championship matchup on FOX was sure to be an emotional one for both players and fans alike.

As they took the field for the game, Brady and Gronk knew that they had one last chance to prove themselves as one of the greatest quarterback-tight end duos in NFL history. And with the whole world watching on FOX, they were determined to leave it all on the field and secure a spot in the Super Bowl.

In the end, Brady and Gronk’s reunion proved to be a winning combination, as they led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a thrilling victory over the Packers. Their performance on the field was nothing short of spectacular, and it was a fitting end to their legendary partnership.

As they celebrated their NFC Championship win, Brady and Gronk knew that they had achieved something truly special. And as they looked ahead to the Super Bowl, they were determined to make the most of their final opportunity to play together on the biggest stage in football.

But no matter what the future holds for Brady and Gronk, one thing is for certain: their connection on the field will always be remembered as one of the greatest in NFL history. And as they basked in the glow of victory, fans everywhere couldn’t help but feel grateful for one last magical moment between two of the game’s greatest players.

  • Tom Izzo’s most memorable Big Ten wins as he inches closer to Bobby Knight’s record

Tom Izzo has been at the helm for 30 years now, and as he closes in on Bobby Knight for the all-time Big Ten wins record. I thought we should look back at some of Izzo’s most memorable Big Ten wins.

Here are his 25 most memorable Big Ten wins as Michigan State basketball coach.

    1. Big Ten win No. 1 vs. Indiana (Jan. 4, 1996)

Tom Izzo earned his first Big Ten victory in his first game of the league schedule during the 1995-96 season. It even came against the great Bobby Knight and his vaunted Hoosiers.

    2. Big Ten win No. 19 at No. 5 Purdue (Dec. 30, 1997)

Izzo’s 1997-98 squad kicked off their run for his first Big Ten regular season title by going on the road to a tough Mackey Arena, and best Gene Keady’s top-five-ranked Boilermaker team. Mateen Cleaves begins his run towards player of the year in the Big Ten.

    3. Big Ten win No. 30 vs. No. 22 Michigan (Feb. 17, 1998)

Cleaves and the Spartans helped deliver Izzo his first win over rival Michigan. Michigan State was able to escape with an 80-75 victory over No. 22-ranked Michigan.

    4. Big Ten win No. 50 vs. Northwestern (Jan. 22, 2000)

Izzo scored Big Ten win No. 50 against the Wildcats, as the Spartans continued their climb towards the 2000 national title.

    5. Big Ten win No. 59 vs. Michigan (March 4, 2000)

A record-breaking Senior Day as Mateen Cleaves, AJ Granger, and Morris Peterson said farewell in a 114-63 route.

As Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo continues to climb the ranks of Big Ten coaching legends, it’s worth taking a look back at some of his most memorable conference wins. With each victory, Izzo inches closer to surpassing the legendary Bobby Knight’s record for most conference wins in Big Ten history. Here are a few of Izzo’s standout victories that have helped solidify his place among the all-time greats in the Big Ten:

    1. Michigan State vs. Indiana (2000): In a highly anticipated matchup between two powerhouse programs, Izzo’s Spartans emerged victorious with a 73-71 win over Knight’s Hoosiers. This win showcased Izzo’s ability to outcoach one of the greatest minds in college basketball history.

    2. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin (2012): In a hard-fought battle that went into overtime, Izzo’s Spartans came out on top with a 63-60 victory over the Badgers. This win highlighted Izzo’s knack for making crucial adjustments and inspiring his team to come out on top in close games.

    3. Michigan State vs. Ohio State (2015): Facing off against a tough Ohio State team led by Thad Matta, Izzo’s Spartans pulled off a 59-56 upset on the road. This win showcased Izzo’s ability to prepare his team for tough road environments and come out on top against tough competition.

As Tom Izzo continues to add to his impressive resume in the Big Ten, it’s clear that he is well on his way to cementing his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in conference history. With each passing win, Izzo inches closer to surpassing Bobby Knight’s record and solidifying his place among the coaching elite in college basketball.

  • Tom Izzo’s travel trouble anger provides valuable lesson about Spartans

EAST LANSING – After picking up a rare win at Madison Square Garden on Saturday afternoon, Tom Izzo had plans for the evening.

The Michigan State coach intended to get back on campus and attend the hockey game before preparing for the team’s next matchup. Initially expecting to be back in East Lansing about 6:30 p.m., the Spartans didn’t return until about 3:30 a.m. due to flight delays.

“As crazy as it sounds,” Izzo said on Monday, “after the game and yesterday, I learned as much about my team as I did in five games of competition.”

After topping Rutgers 81-74 on Saturday for their 12th straight win to snap Izzo’s five-game skid at MSG, the No. 7 Spartans (17-2, 8-0 Big Ten) left New York for their charter flight out of Newark. Then maintenance delays piled up both on the tarmac and at a local hotel before the wheels finally went up about 1:20 a.m.

“I didn’t have one guy complaining. … The coach was complaining, I promise you that,” Izzo said. “There were people that got a few ear loads of what I thought of the whole deal because I didn’t think it was handled right, people were lying to us about things.”

It was the team’s second straight road trip with travel problems, following delays getting in and out of Chicago earlier this month for a game at Northwestern. Senior guard Jaden Akins spent the downtime in Newark watching film and movies and getting a little sleep. The Spartans returned to the court on Sunday with an altered schedule amid a quick turnaround before hosting Minnesota (11-9, 3-6), which has won three straight, on Tuesday (8 p.m., Peacock) at the Breslin Center.

“The meetings were great, the practice we cut it short but we got at it a little bit and they were great,” Izzo said. “I think that was a sign of maturity. The head coach was immature, the players were very mature.”

Even with some private flight problems, a lot of people would gladly take Michigan State’s team travel accommodations. There will be a lot bigger challenges ahead for the Spartans, who are wildly exceeding preseason expectations. So far.

“I think we’re building a base that’s good enough to handle a lot of things,” Izzo said. “We’ll see if that’s true.”

In a recent game against Purdue, Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo was seen visibly frustrated with his team’s inability to handle the ball and commit costly turnovers. As he stomped up and down the sidelines and yelled at his players, it was clear that Izzo’s anger stemmed from the team’s lack of discipline and execution on the court.

While some may view Izzo’s outburst as a negative display of emotions, it actually provides a valuable lesson about the high standards he holds for his players and the program as a whole. Izzo’s passion and intensity are a reflection of his commitment to excellence and his desire to push his players to be their best.

The travel trouble that plagued the Spartans in that game serves as a reminder that attention to detail and focus are crucial in order to succeed at the highest level of competition. Izzo’s reaction serves as a wake-up call for his team to tighten up their game and not let mistakes go unchecked.

In the end, Izzo’s travel trouble anger may have been a tough pill to swallow in the moment, but it ultimately serves as a valuable lesson for the Spartans to learn from and improve upon as they continue their season. It’s clear that Izzo’s passion for the game and commitment to excellence will continue to drive his team towards success.

  • Smallville’s Tom Welling On Returning For The Crisis On Infinite Earths Crossover Despite Being So ‘Protective’ Of Clark Kent, And The Keen Request He Had On Set

Tom Welling has forged a firm place for himself within superhero media through his role as Clark Kent on the WB/CW series Smallville. For ten seasons, Welling played out Kent’s extensive journey to becoming the Man of Steel and became quite synonymous with the character. With that, Welling eventually became “protective” of the character, though he did opt to reprise it in Crisis on Infinite Earths, one of the Arrowverse’s crossovers. Now, the actor is discussing why he returned, and he revealed a keen suggestion he made on the set.

Smallville’s 10-season run ended in 2011, seemingly ending the journey for Tom Welling’s Clark Kent and those in his orbit. So it was a pleasant surprise when it was revealed that Welling would return for 2020’s Crisis event alongside Lois Lane actress Erica Durance. While attending Fan Expo New Orleans alongside Durance and fellow co-stars Kristin Kreuk and Laura Vandvoort, the Draft Day alum was asked about his decision to reprise the role. Welling (as seen in a YouTube video) then proceeded to share a very thoughtful answer:

There had been some calls about me visiting some — when Smallville ended, there were some other shows that obviously started, like Superman-ish. And I’d gotten some calls, but they were all sort of like — they weren’t me acting on these shows, it was me playing Clark on these shows. And I really felt protective of the fact that Clark wouldn’t exist on those shows. And then, finally, someone who’s connected to [Crisis] said, ‘Listen, please just read it. It’s one scene, just please read it.’ And I read it, and I was like, ‘Fuck, that’s good.’ … It was just the one scene, and I was like, ‘Man, this is actually a good idea. This is the way to do it.’

    More on Smallville

Smallville: 10 Behind-The-Scenes Facts About The Superman Prequel Series

As for what that one scene (from “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two”) entailed, it saw Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor visit the Kents’ farm on Earth-167. Luthor – who’d been killing Clarks across the multiverse – sought to do the same to Tom Welling’s Kent. However, the villain opted not to do so – due to his ego – after Clark revealed that he’d since given up his powers and settled down with Lois. And, after Luthor’s departure, Lane approached her partner to explain that their daughters were waiting for him. It was a brief scene but also a sweet one that serves as a solid bookend for Kent’s story.

I can still understand why the Cheaper by the Dozen alum would be hesitant just to take any opportunity to reprise his character, though. There’s a lot of love and affection for his iteration of Mr. Kent. And, as has been said by Smallville’s EPs, the Fog actor made for the “perfect” Clark Kent, so why mess with that legacy if it’s not worth it? At the expo, the veteran actor went on to reference Clark’s big superhuman abilities twist and more, but I really love the thoughtful way he approached playing this version of Clark, which led to a subtle suggestion:

Clark didn’t have his powers, and my way into that scene was I wanted to play Clark as if he grew into Jonathan Kent. Like, when I showed up, they didn’t have gloves for Clark, and I was like, ‘Can we get some gloves?’ And I ended up borrowing some gloves from one of the grips. Because I was like, ‘I don’t have superpowers.’ And it’s just like weird things that get you attached to characters, and I tried to walk a little more like John Schneider in a way.

As a fan, I greatly appreciate just how thoughtful the Winchesters alum was when approaching his return as Clark. I also love the fact that he went on to give Erica Durance kudos for her brief appearance and for managing to quickly respark the playful relationship that Clark and Lois possessed for some many years. Fans are still pining to see more of their dynamics and those of the other characters and, if some of the cast get their way, it could happen.

Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum (who played Lex Luthor) have reportedly been attempting to produce an animated continuation series, with the OG creators attached as well. Previously, Welling said that for a spinoff to happen, they’d need a firm answer from Warner Bros. So it’s hard to say whether that project will come to fruition but, at the very least, I’m glad Welling and Erica Durance decided to return for Crisis and managed to give some further sense of closure to their characters.

All ten seasons of Smallville are now available to stream with a Hulu subscription. You can also head over to Tubi to watch Tom Welling’s return as Clark Kent on Batwoman’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two.”

Smallville fans rejoice! Tom Welling, who famously portrayed Clark Kent in the hit TV series Smallville, will be reprising his role for the highly anticipated Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

Despite being known for being “protective” of his character, Welling decided to make a return for this special occasion. In a recent interview, he shared that he wanted to pay homage to the character that he portrayed for so many years and give fans the chance to see where Clark Kent is now.

On set, Welling had a keen request for the creators of the crossover. He wanted to make sure that his character’s journey was respected and that any decisions made for Clark Kent felt authentic to the story that Smallville had already told.

Fans can look forward to seeing Welling back in action alongside other familiar faces from the Arrowverse as they come together to battle the Anti-Monitor and save the multiverse. Don’t miss this epic crossover event featuring Smallville’s very own Clark Kent!
