Jaguars hire Hall of Famer Tony Boselli as executive VP of football operations
Boselli, new head coach Liam Coen and Jacksonville’s next general manager will be tasked with forming “a football leadership unit that will collaborate and align on all major football decisions, develop a long-term strategy for sustainable on-field success, and provide counsel to the team owner,” the Jaguars said.
Coen and the new GM, like Boselli, will report to Khan.
“My passion for this team, these fans and this city has defined my football life, to the point it is now engrained in my family’s legacy,” Boselli added in a statement. “Today, that relationship has evolved to include this exciting opportunity, and I find my emotions remarkably similar to what I felt upon being drafted as a Jacksonville Jaguar in 1995. I am so excited and deeply humbled to work with and alongside Shad Khan, the Khan Family, Liam Coen, our new general manager and the entire Jaguars front office. We will come together to build a lasting foundation and winning tradition that Jaguars fans will be proud of.”
Boselli’s hire is the latest change to Jacksonville’s power structure in what has been a whirlwind offseason. The Jaguars fired coach Doug Pederson after three seasons following the 2024 campaign, then waited weeks to part with general manager Trent Baalke after struggling to reel in a new head coach. Jacksonville eventually hired Coen on Jan. 24, but remain in search of a new GM.
A hulking left tackle in his day, Boselli was the second overall pick of the 1995 draft out of USC. Over seven seasons in Duval, the offensive lineman reached five Pro Bowls and was thrice named first-team All-Pro. Boselli was the first player to be inducted into Jacksonville’s Pride of the Jaguars and was also selected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s. In 2022, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in his 16th year of eligibility and sixth as a finalist.
Boselli has been around the organization for years since his retirement after the 2001 season. He most recently served as the Jags’ game-day radio analyst and a contributor to the team’s website.
Now, he won’t be covering the Jaguars, but rebuilding them.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a major move by hiring Hall of Famer Tony Boselli as their new executive vice president of football operations. Boselli, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.In his new position, Boselli will oversee all aspects of the Jaguars’ football operations, including player personnel, scouting, and roster management. His leadership and expertise are sure to have a positive impact on the team as they look to build a winning culture and compete for championships.
Boselli’s impressive resume includes five Pro Bowl selections and three First-Team All-Pro honors during his playing career with the Jaguars. He has also worked as a football analyst for ESPN and the Jaguars Radio Network, giving him valuable insights into the game from both on and off the field perspectives.
Jaguars fans can look forward to seeing the impact that Boselli will have on the team as they strive for success in the upcoming seasons. With his leadership and football acumen, the future looks bright for Jacksonville under his guidance.

Jaguars’ Legend Tony Boselli Weighs In On Process to Land Liam Coen
When then-Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen dropped out of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ head coach search to take an extension to remain in Tampa Bay, there was one word to describe the reaction from those outside of the building: panic.
It was well-known throughout the process that Coen was one of the leaders for the Jaguars’ job. After Ben Johnson opted to take the Bears job, Coen became the clear favorite. So when it appeared he would be turning down the job, there was a general sense of dispair.
Coen of course reversed course and went on to be hired as the eighth head coach in franchise history. A week into the job, he is hard at work putting together his first coaching staff.
And while the whirlwind 48 hours proved to be dramatic in terms of how it played out in the media, one key member of the franchise weighed in on what the situation was actually like behind the scenes.
“I don’t think there was nervousness or like, sometimes what is viewed from the outside is chaos, and what’s going on isn’t always what’s happening behind the scenes,” Jaguars Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli said at a fan event at EverBank Stadium.
Boselli is set to take a front office role with the team and was reportedly very involved in the search for a new head coach, especially as the team advanced past the first stage of interviews. And to Boselli, this situation was far from the chaotic one that many perceived it as.
“And I think the one thing I saw and experienced, and I’ve seen it throughout my time since Shad has been the owner. Sometimes very close, sometimes from a distance. He does a great job of really managing the situation,” Boselli said.
“There’s a reason he’s been as successful as he has in life. He was very clear, very concise of how we were going to do this and what the plan to move forward was. And I really enjoyed the opportunity, the fact that he trusted me enough to be a part of that process. But I think sometimes the perception from the outside doesn’t always line up with what is actually happening within.”

Tony Finau and wife welcome their 6th child with a twist on the gender reveal
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Tony Finau put a twist on the popular gender reveal: He waited until after the baby was born to let his other children guess.
Finau revealed on Instagram that his wife, Alayna, gave birth to their sixth child last Saturday. His other five children apparently didn’t know the gender.
In the video, Finau brings them into the hospital room where his wife has the newborn wrapped in a blanket with only the face showing. Finau asked each of their children, one at a time, if they thought they had a little brother or a little sister.
“What are the guesses?” Finau asks.
Jraice, the oldest, said it was a boy. The next four — Tony, Neenee, Sage and Sienna-Vee — all said the same. Finau said the color of the newborn’s clothing would give the answer.
His wife unwrapped the blanket to reveal a pink onesie.
The 35-year-old Finau, a two-time Ryder Cup player with six career victories on the PGA Tour, is playing this week in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

In a video posted on social media, Tony and Alayna can be seen hitting golf balls on a course, with each ball containing either pink or blue powder. As they hit the balls, the powder explodes in a burst of color, revealing that they are expecting a baby boy.

JAY-Z’s Latest Retaliatory Attack Against Tony Buzbee For Rape Lawsuit Claims He “Got Basic Facts Wrong”
In a year where Diddy was public enemy No. 1 for his allegations, lawsuits, and eventual arrest, JAY-Z also found himself in the mix via a rape lawsuit filed in December 2024. The 55-year-old rapper has been hellbent on tearing down Tony Buzbee’s, the lawyer representing his alleged victim, credibility and he continued that this week.
Earlier in January, Hov attempted to get his case dismissed and he recently filed a memo to add some more details. HipHopDX obtained documents where the Brooklyn rapper and his attorney Alex Spiro claimed that Buzbee “got basic facts wrong” in the case.
Specifically, they say that the unnamed victim’s father confirmed that he had no recollection of the rape story playing out how she told it; Jane Doe originally said her father picked her up from a gas station, but he said the gas station in question would have been a 10-hour drive roundtrip. They also cited how she claimed she spoke with a celebrity that evening at the 2000 Video Music Awards, but said celebrity was not even in New York City at the time.
“Mr. Carter seeks only to hold Mr. Buzbee to the ethical standards that constrain any responsible attorney who would solemnly sign his name to allegations in court,” Alex Spiro wrote. He is arguing that Tony Buzbee should be held liable for either not doing his due diligence, or having proper information and still going through with a false claim.
Buzbee, however, claims that he ran a background check on Jane Doe and collaborated with a retired police detective to do thorough research on her. However, Spiro countered and said these claims were not enough. “[N]one of those individuals has even been named, let alone produced as a declarant,” he wrote. “Nor does the Opposition specify which ‘aspects’ of Plaintiff’s complaint were ‘fact-checked.’”
Buzbee remains confident in the case, telling HipHopDX: “With every frantic filing the defense in this case grows more desperate. The rules apply equally to everyone, even those who wrongly think they are above the law. No one is above the law. The ‘basic fact’ that is obvious to everyone is that the defendant’s motion is frivolous.”
JAY-Z was accused of raping a teenager alongside Diddy in 2000. She allegedly was transported to one of the Bad Boy founder’s after-parties by one of his limo drivers following the 2000 VMAs. Upon arrival, she signed what she believed to be an NDA and then allegedly had her drink spiked. She claims that the rappers then entered the room and Hov pinned her down and had sex with her while Puff and another celebrity watched.

In a recent turn of events, JAY-Z has fired back at Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the women accusing him of sexual assault, claiming that Buzbee has “got basic facts wrong” in his lawsuit against the rapper. In a statement released by JAY-Z’s legal team, they refuted Buzbee’s claims and stated that they are confident in their client’s innocence. The statement also accused Buzbee of using the lawsuit as a means of gaining publicity and tarnishing JAY-Z’s reputation.
This latest retaliatory attack comes after Buzbee filed a lawsuit on behalf of multiple women who allege that JAY-Z sexually assaulted them. The lawsuit has garnered significant media attention and has raised questions about the rapper’s behavior.
It remains to be seen how this legal battle will unfold, but one thing is for certain: JAY-Z is not backing down without a fight. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
