  • Mathys Tel transfer: Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich reach verbal agreement on £50m deal | Football News

Tottenham and Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement on a £50m transfer for Mathys Tel.

However, the player has not yet made a final decision on whether he will accept Spurs’ offer.

He has also not decided whether he wants to go on loan or permanently, having previously been determined to breakthrough at Bayern.

Spurs face rival interest for Tel from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli , who are managed by German Matthias Jaissle.

Jamie Redknapp reveals he spoke to Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane about team-mate Mathys Tel as the striker is attracting interest from Tottenham and other Premier League clubs

Manchester United have made tentative enquiries about Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel. However, any potential deal is likely to depend on departures at Old Trafford.

Chelsea and Aston Villa also remain interested in Tel.

But Spurs are hoping more regular game time will persuade him to join them over others.

At £50m, he would become Bayern’s most expensive ever sale.

Stade Rennais – Tel’s former club – have a share of the sell-on in the region of 10 to 15 per cent.

Analysis: Why Tel is in demand

    Sky Sports’ Nick Wright:

Tel has been a peripheral figure for Bayern Munich this season, playing only 344 minutes across their Bundesliga and Champions League campaigns without scoring. But at 19, he remains a thrilling talent with plenty to offer and plenty of room for improvement.

Mathys Tel has largely been used as an impact sub at Bayern Munich so far in his career
    Image:
Mathys Tel has largely been used as an impact sub at Bayern Munich so far in his career

He demonstrated his immense potential last season, contributing nine goals and six assists across the Bundesliga and Champions League, despite mostly featuring as a substitute, and averaging an eye-catching 1.15 goal involvements per 90 minutes.

Context is important, of course. Many of those substitute appearances came at points in games where Bayern were already several goals up. But his talent is not in doubt. It is what convinced Bayern to pay roughly £23m to land him at the age of only 17 in 2022.

Tel is quick, strong in the air and, crucially, an accomplished finisher. His versatility is another asset.

Mathys Tel has played in various positions for Bayern Munich
    Image:
Mathys Tel has played in various positions for Bayern Munich

As shown in the graphic above, Tel’s minutes at Bayern have been split across different positions. He has played the highest share of minutes on the left, where he is able to cut in on his right foot. But he is also adept with his left foot and has also been used on the right, as a central striker, and even in midfield.

He would have to adapt to new surroundings in the Premier League, of course. Hitting the ground running would be a challenge mid-season. But it is easy to understand the interest, even if he would not come cheaply to any side looking to sign him permanently.

‘Tel a great character but he needs minutes’

    Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg:

“He is a great character. He is 19 years old but he has learned to speak German very fast and very well.

“The fans love him. He is always friendly. He says hello to everyone working at the club and at the training ground, and to every fan.

“The fans cannot understand why he might leave Bayern but there is an understanding of the fact that he needs regular playing time.

“He is a fantastic guy, open-minded and always smiling, but he needs to choose the right club right now because this is a very important step in his career.

“He is not a regular player at Bayern. He is far away from that. Now, he has to gain minutes.”

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have reportedly reached a verbal agreement on a £50m deal for the transfer of Mathys Tel. The highly-rated defender is set to make the move to the Premier League after impressing in the Bundesliga.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Bayern Munich this season, helping them to a strong finish in the league. His performances have caught the eye of several top clubs, but it seems that Tottenham Hotspur have won the race for his signature.

Tel is known for his pace, strength, and ability to read the game well. He will provide a much-needed boost to Tottenham’s defense, which has struggled at times this season.

The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, with Tel set to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur. Fans will be excited to see the young defender in action next season, as he looks to make an impact in the Premier League.

  • Transfer window weekly: Nkunku pushing for Chelsea exit; Tel eyes Premier League move

The transfer window is open across Europe as clubs look to do some midseason business. But what are ESPN’s reporters hearing about possible deals?

Every Friday in January, we’ll bring you the latest updates and insights on the biggest transfer news.

Will Christopher Nkunku be at Chelsea on Feb. 4?

Nkunku is determined to leave Chelsea in the next few days. The France international forward is not happy about being a fringe player for Enzo Maresca’s team, where he features mostly as a starter in the UEFA Conference League. He has told the Blues’ hierarchy that he wants to find a new project, and the club are not against letting him leave if their valuation is matched. However, they want to recoup the €60m they spent to sign him from RB Leipzig just 18 months ago.

The former PSG player would be happy to stay in England or go back to Germany. And sources said that Manchester United have asked to be kept informed of developments in case Alejandro Garnacho departs. — Julien Laurens

Meanwhile, Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement to sign 16-year-old Corinthians left-back Denner, but due to FIFA rules, he could only make the transfer to England after he turns 18. — ESPN Brasil

Could one of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham or Villa land a late move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel?

Yes. Bayern Munich director Max Eberl has confirmed that the 19-year-old Tel wants to leave and said: “I’ve rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before.” But although Chelsea have made a lot of the early running, Tottenham feel they have an opportunity to win the race by offering a clearer path to regular first-team football and had a €60m offer accepted on Thursday night. The player has yet to make a decision though and personal terms have not been reached.

Sources said that Manchester United, Aston Villa and Ligue 1 side Marseille are also interested — although United must focus on outgoings first — while it remains unclear if Arsenal pivot away from their pursuit of Villa striker Ollie Watkins. If they do, Tel will be one alternative. — James Olley

After telling Bayern that he wanted to stay, Tel has changed his mind and has opened the door to a departure before the deadline as he has become frustrated by his lack of game time this season. Bayern want €60m for a permanent deal but are hoping that a bidding war breaks out between interested clubs; Tel wants to move to England and join a team where he will play regularly — ideally one that is in the Champions League.

Currently, Tottenham are leading the way but are not in a strong position considering their poor league performance. United have been in talks with Bayern and Tel’s agent for two days, but the club has to find an exit for Marcus Rashford first, and time is running out.

Tel could be Arsenal’s second option if they don’t manage to sign Watkins, while, as James says, Chelsea were the first club to get in touch about the player early in this transfer window and could yet move if Nkunku is allowed to depart. — Laurens

Which players could leave Man United before the deadline?

Man United would consider offers to sign midfielder Christian Eriksen and defender Victor Lindelöf before the deadline, but that’s optimistic because they will both be free agents this summer. Casemiro, 32, is available, and United are willing to sanction a straight loan while paying a portion of his wages. However, the Brazilian hasn’t shown much desire to go this month, and he already rejected a move to Roma, which means it would take a good offer to get things moving.

Young striker Rasmus Højlund is another interesting situation. He’s not playing well, but many clubs are looking for a striker on loan. United, however, could not afford to let Antony (who has already signed for Real Betis on loan), Rashford and Højlund leave without bringing in a replacement. — Rob Dawson

    And what about Rashford?

Man United want him out and Rashford wants to play, but this has now become a game of poker. Will United drop their financial demands or will Rashford agree to take a pay cut to move to another club? It’s likely either will need to happen if he’s going to go before the deadline.

It’s possible that this one will go right to the wire on Monday. Which side is going to blink first? — Dawson

Why Marcotti thinks Arsenal should go for Vlahovic over Watkins

Gabriele Marcotti believes that Arsenal should target Dusan Vlahovic instead of Ollie Watkins after they tabled a bid for the English striker.

Is Man City’s business over for January?

They hope not. The possibility that midfielder Douglas Luiz could be allowed to leave Juventus has got City boss Pep Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain interested. City would be keen on a loan for Luiz — who used to play for the club 2017-19, but he didn’t make a first-team appearance until the end of the season with an option to make it permanent. Juventus have suggested they want a permanent move now or an obligation to sign permanently in the summer.

As right-back Kyle Walker has left for Milan, there’s also interest in Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, whose transfer is valued at around €80m, but that might have to wait until the summer.

One thing that could be of interest is the fact that Al Nassr have a delegation based in London ahead of the SPL deadline on Friday night and one of the players being discussed is City midfielder Mateo Kovacic. As of Thursday evening, City had yet to receive contact from the Saudi club, r but informal enquiries have been made to Kovacic’s representatives. It’s a hard deal to do but one to keep an eye on. — Dawson

James McAtee is likely to stay at City this month because the club is unable to loan him out of the country. City have already used their full allocation of six loans and cannot sanction another, so unless Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to make a significant offer to sign him permanently rather than on loan, he will be staying at the Etihad. — Mark Ogden

Tottenham are struggling in the league, will they sign anyone?

Ange Postecoglou certainly wants them to, but oddly, that is part of the problem. Postecoglou has a very specific style of play and wants players to fit that system, but the 59-year-old is under mounting pressure after a dismal run of results has left Spurs in 15th place in the Premier League. So do Spurs back a manager they may have to sack in the coming weeks? Or do they hedge their bets in the final few days of the window, either keeping their powder dry as players return from injury or sign a player the club feels is better suited to their future plans with one eye on life after Postecoglou? Either way, there is surely a consensus that the forward line needs strengthening and they’ve had that €60m bid for Tel accepted, although it remains to be seen if he wants to move to Spurs.

Central midfield has long needed more guile, hence the interest in Lille‘s Angel Gomes. Chairman Daniel Levy has long held a reputation for doing business late in the window, and here we are again. — Olley

With only six months remaining on his contract at Lille, Gomes is attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League. At 24, the former Manchester United academy graduate wants to come home. He has been great with Lille in the last four seasons, playing in the Champions League and making his England debut. Tottenham are keen to sign him, like West Ham and Everton, but this one is probably more for the summer transfer window than the final days of January. — Laurens

Is Ricardo Pepi the answer to West Ham’s striker struggles?

Gab Marcotti and Julien Laurens discuss USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi’s reported move to Premier League side West Ham.

Any other interesting deals in the works?

    – Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is the subject of interest from Bournemouth, West Ham, Everton and Bayer Leverkusen heading into the final days of the transfer window, with sources telling ESPN that the Republic of Ireland international could yet leave the Amex Stadium in a permanent deal. Sources said that a move to German Bundesliga would appeal to the 20-year-old, due to the success of a number of young players doing the same in recent years, but Brighton are open to a loan or a permanent transfer. — Ogden

    – Chelsea defender Axel Disasi wants to go to Aston Villa and the club has received an offer for a loan with no option to sign permanently. The discussions are continuing, but all parties are optimistic a deal will happen. — Laurens

Newcastle United have been looking closely at Real Sociedad winger Take Kubo, but the Spanish club won’t let him leave this month. — Rodri Faez

    – Atlanta United is closing in on the acquisition of Middlesbrough striker Latte Lath, and is prepared to break the record for an incoming transfer to MLS in order to get the $22m (plus add-ons) deal over the line. — Jeff Carlisle

    – Former U.S. international forward Matthew Hoppe is set to sign with Danish side Sonderskjye, a source has confirmed to ESPN after Transfermarkt initially broke the news. Capped eight times for the U.S., Hoppe had been on the books of English Championship side Middlesbrough, but had his contract terminated by mutual consent earlier this month. — Carlisle

Napoli want to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Noa Lang. The Italian club have offered a fee of €25m, but PSV do not want to let the 25-year-old go and instead are looking to bring in a left-back themselves, following Matteo Dams‘ departure to the United Arab Emirates. — ESPN NL

    – Feyenoord do not want to let Mexico striker Santiago Giménez leave the club this month. But AC Milan are interested and are reported to be preparing a €35m offer for the 23-year-old. — ESPN NL

    – Ajax are looking to bring in a left winger, but they might already have the perfect option. Carlos Forbs, who is on loan at Wolves and has made just one start and nine appearances overall in the Premier League, is in talks over an early return to Amsterdam. — ESPN NL

    – Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who has previously played for Liverpool, Barcelona and Fiorentina, is one of the main targets for Santos after they announced the return of Neymar, but is set to move to Girona. — ESPN Brasi

    – Botafogo and Cruzeiro are both looking to hire a new coach. For Botafogo, Vasco Matos (Santa Clara) is an option, while there have been rumors about former Barcelona and Inter Miami boss Gerardo Martino and ex-Liverpool and Real Madrid coach Rafael Benítez that have not advanced. For Cruzeiro, Renato Gaúcho (formerly of Grêmio) has been tipped to replace Fernando Diniz. — ESPN Brasil

    – Flamengo are trying to reach an agreement to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, after closing a move for Juventus defender Danilo.ESPN Brasil

    – Palmeiras striker Rony has seen a move to Qatari side Al Rayyan collapse, while Palmeiras have not given up on the signing of Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira and will wait until Monday’s deadline day before restarting negotiations. — ESPN Brasil

    – Toluca are still looking to sign a goalkeeper after the surprise departure of Tiago Volpi, who decided to return to Brazil with Gremio for personal reasons. Sources told ESPN there is interest in Marseille goalkeeper Pau López, who is on loan at Girona of Spain. — Adriana Maldonado, ESPN Deportes

Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa striker open to Arsenal move in January transfer window – Paper Talk

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has reportedly expressed his openness to a potential move to Arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window. The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Villa since joining from Brentford last season, scoring 10 goals in 23 appearances so far this campaign.

According to reports, Watkins is believed to be eager to test himself at a higher level and sees Arsenal as a suitable destination to further his career. The Gunners, who are currently struggling in the Premier League, are said to be monitoring the situation closely and could make a move for the English forward in January.

Watkins’ versatility, pace, and goal-scoring ability have caught the eye of several top clubs, with Arsenal looking to bolster their attacking options in the winter transfer window. The striker’s potential move to the Emirates Stadium would provide Mikel Arteta’s side with a much-needed boost in their quest for success this season.

It remains to be seen whether a deal will materialize between Aston Villa and Arsenal, but Watkins’ desire to make the switch could play a crucial role in negotiations. The January transfer window promises to be an exciting one, with plenty of potential moves on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates on Ollie Watkins and his future in the Premier League.

  • Jhon Duran transfer: Al Nassr confident of deal worth over £64m to sign Aston Villa striker | Football News

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has completed a medical with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr ahead of a £64m move.

The 21-year-old, who was an unused substitute in Villa’s 4-2 home win over Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday, will now fly to Saudi Arabia to join a side headed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Duran’s move comes as it also emerged Villa have rejected a bid from Arsenal for striker Ollie Watkins.

Al Nassr are understood to be paying just over £64m (€77m) plus bonuses for the striker, who was signed for around £15m from MLS side Chicago Fire FC two years ago.

The Saudi club have also seen a bid worth £54m for Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma rejected.

This is all part of a new Saudi strategy to focus on singing young, developing players. They do not want to be regarded as a retirement home for ageing superstars.

Speaking after Aston Villa’s draw with West Ham in the Premier League, Unai Emery confirmed he wanted to keep Duran

Emery said of Duran in his post-match press conference: “The club is working, we have to be competitive, of course we are developing players and increasing our objective, increasing our target, playing Champions League.

“Of course, we in the eyes of another strong team, strong countries like Saudi Arabia. It is something as well I can feel proud of because [the players] are improving. We have players who are of interest to other clubs and paying good money to us.

“But of course our objective is to keep our structure on the sport side because we want to keep our level that we are at and to keep it for a long time is hard.

“[To answer the question], I don’t know exactly until everything is done.

Emery remained coy on whether strikers Jhon Duran and Ollie Watkins could both head for the exit door at Villa Park

“If he is leaving it is because it is a good deal for us. Because we have developed a young player in two years. It is not only club, it [has to work for] club, player and team.

“I don’t know if he is going to leave.”

The Spaniard added: “With Jhon Duran, you know more or less everything we are speaking here. He is a fantastic young player, fantastic potential. I was so close with him, trying to work with him in his development.

“But the player has the objective, sometimes they are impassioned. If they are leaving it is because they are doing another way in their career.”

Questioned on whether Duran has asked to leave the club, Emery replied: “If he is leaving, of course it is because he has agreed.

“I told you last week, I wanted him here. After West Ham, I told you I wanted him here. But what does he want?”

Earlier this month, West Ham had a £57m bid turned down for Duran.

Sky Sports News reported on Wednesday morning that Al Nassr wanted to sign either Duran or Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface.

The Saudi Arabian club had held talks over both strikers but will only sign one of them and it appears they have settled on Duran despite also agreeing a £46m (€55m) deal for Boniface, who had undergone a medical.

Sky Germany reported on Wednesday night Boniface’s move to Al Nassr is off.

The 24-year-old was left out of Leverkusen’s squad on Wednesday for their 2-0 Champions League home win over Sparta Prague.

Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, said it is now unlikely that Boniface leaves.

Rolfes said: “Boniface will train with the team again tomorrow. He is still a Bayer 04 player.

“The events have not led to him being sold. With certain sums of money, economic considerations naturally always play a role.

“The current situation is that he will most likely stay. We are happy about that.”

Villa reject Arsenal’s bid for Watkins

Transfer Show panel discusses why Aston Villa rejected Arsenal’s bid for Ollie Watkins

Al Nassr’s move for Duran comes amid Villa rejecting a bid from Arsenal for striker Ollie Watkins, who has been Villa head coach Unai Emery’s preferred striker.

Arsenal are expected to return with an improved offer for the England international.

Villa’s position is that Watkins is not for sale, which makes it unlikely a deal will be done in this window.

Watkins, known to be an Arsenal fan, is the Premier League’s ninth-top goalscorer this season with 10 goals – including Villa’s equaliser at Arsenal earlier this month.

The 29-year-old has five goals in 18 games for England, including the winner in last season’s Euro 2024 semi-final victory against the Netherlands.

Breaking News: Al Nassr confident of securing a deal worth over £64m to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran

In what could be a blockbuster transfer deal, Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is reportedly in advanced talks to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran for a fee exceeding £64m. The 27-year-old Colombian international has been a key player for Villa in recent seasons, but it appears that he could be on his way out of the club in the coming days.

Al Nassr, managed by former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, are said to be confident of reaching an agreement with Villa for the transfer of Duran. The move would see the striker link up with the likes of former Barcelona forward Xavi Hernandez and ex-Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic at the Saudi outfit.

Duran has been a prolific goalscorer for Villa, netting 20 goals in all competitions last season. His departure would be a major blow for the Midlands club, but the lure of a lucrative move to Al Nassr could prove too tempting for the Colombian.

Stay tuned for further updates on this potential blockbuster transfer deal as negotiations continue between the two clubs. Could Jhon Duran be set for a sensational move to Saudi Arabia? Only time will tell. #JhonDuran #AlNassr #AstonVilla #TransferNews #FootballTransfer

  • Liverpool handed urgent contract demand as rule change ‘unlocks’ explosive transfer

Mo Salah has taken another significant step closer towards a mammoth switch to Saudi Arabia after FIFA introduced a transfer loophole allowing a move to go through sooner than expected – though Ian Wright has begged FSG not to give up on extending the Egyptian’s contract with words that will resonate with every Reds supporter.

The Egyptian king is a free agent at the end of the season and is already eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement to sign for an overseas club of his choosing – a potential departure that would hit Liverpool badly given the fantastic form Salah has been in this season. To date, the 32-year-old star has an incredible 40-goal contributions this season already (23 goals and 17 assists), ensuring he has an involvement for the Reds every 67.25 minutes he has been on the field under Arne Slot’s management.

While Salah has made it clear he is keen to extend his stay at Anfield, the inability of FSG to agree fresh terms with the 32-year-old have left them wide open to his departure. And in a recent update, Salah has admitted he remains some distance apart from agreeing extended terms with FSG.

As a result, trusted reporter Ben Jacobs revealed in great detail on Tuesday how Al-Hilal are growing in confidence that a deal to bring the player to Saudi Arabia can be pulled off, making clear the strong relationship that exists between officials in the country and the Egyptian’s agent, Ramy Abbas.

Now, multiple reports have revealed that a move to Riyadh could go through sooner than expected, and with Al-Hilal due to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, The FIFA Council have approved regulations for a unique transfer window to take place before the tournament kicks off. That means a move could go through any time between June 1-10 – and a matter of weeks before Salah’s deal at Anfield is officially due to expire.

In light of that, football pundit Wright claims FSG have no time to waste and insists they should bite the bullet and give Salah the contract he wants to remain at Anfield.

“If Liverpool are deliberating over the fact like: ‘Yes he’s having moments at this stage of his career, he’s at that age, should we take a chance?’ I’m going to take a chance,” Wright said on Premier League Productions.

“Because what’s going to happen is that Liverpool are in a progressive mode, they’re in the ascendancy, they’re going to bring in players, so even if he’s there but older, he will still have moments, it’s the kind of money I would spend.”

DON’T MISS  FSG ‘in tears’ over Salah contract demand as Gary Neville reveals exact wages he’s asking from Liverpool

The huge wages on offer to Salah in Saudi as star drops exit hint

Sources have revealed to TEAMtalk that there is now a growing fear at Anfield that Salah will move on at the end of the season. And while talks will continue at trying to find common ground, the fact that neither party are close to finding a compromise has left open the scenario that this will indeed be his final season on Merseyside.

It’s also understood that Al-Hilal have presented an offer to Salah’s agent, Abbas, worth £65m over two years – worth a staggering £600,000 a week to the player. Currently on £350,000 a week at Anfield, FSG know they cannot – and would not even attempt – to match such a salary. As a compromise to that offer, Salah is believed to be seeking some £400,000 a week over three years to stay on Merseyside – taking him just shy of his 36th birthday. But even that appears too big an ask for the Reds as it stands.

Just this weekend, Salah provided another update on his future, underlining his ambitions before he leaves and also having named five other teammates who will soon exit Anfield.

“My motivation this year was really to win a trophy and be a big part of winning that trophy, especially the Premier League,” Salah told multiple outlets before Liverpool’s match against Ipswich Town.

“There is still me, Virgil, Trent, Alisson, Joe [Gomez] and Robbo [Andy Robertson], so it’s five or six players left. So I think it’s necessary to win another trophy before we all go.

“I think we need another one. We won almost everything but we won [the Premier League] only once so hopefully we can win it twice. It would be great.”

Salah’s current record for Liverpool reads a goal contribution every 1.12 appearances, while the player recently became the first Reds player in history to break the 50-goal mark in European competition.

Salah has also broken the 20-goal mark in each of his eight seasons at Anfield and discussing his phenomenal numbers, Salah continued: “That is something incredible, something I am very proud of. I worked very hard for that.

“And being also a winger and scoring goals that make a difference in the game is quite hard and people will maybe appreciate it more when they see that in the future.

“It’s quite hard and tricky because sometimes when you do things every day and every year, people just think that it’s not hard. When you do it for six, seven, or eight years, people just say it’s normal to do it, but actually it’s not easy.

“It’s not easy at all because it’s very tricky to find a winger to score like 20 or 30 goals, for eight years in a row. But again, something I’m proud of.”

Salah heir named by Carragher; mammoth Nunez bid rejected

With speculation mounting that Salah could be on his way, FSG and sporting director Richard Hughes have quite rightly been doing their due diligence on would-be successors to the Egyptian on the right side of their attack.

And according to Jamie Carragher, he believes he has unearthed the player that Liverpool would feel is the ideal candidate to come in as his heir.

Another Reds star subject of interest in Saudi Arabia is Darwin Nunez and according to David Ornstein, the Reds have this month rejected a colossal offer for his services – leading his suitors Al Nassr to instead focus on a Bayer Leverkusen hotshot and an Aston Villa star instead.

Elsewhere, the Reds have suffered a monumental blow in their pursuit of Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez after he issued a strong 15-word statement to rule out a move to Anfield.

All 18 Champions League group stage matches will be shown on TNT at the same time in the biggest night of European football in the channel’s history.

It is the first time all 36 qualified teams will be shown on TV at the same time as TNT prepares for the final group stage game, where European heavyweights Manchester City and PSG risk losing out on the knockout stage.

Fans of Liverpool will be hoping to secure an eighth win out of eight, while Aston Villa take on Celtic in the Battle of Britain.

Viewers can watch every minute of every game on TNT Sports. You can get TNT Sports as an add on to your Amazon Prime subscription, or by buying a TNT Sports pass for £32.99. The pass will also allow you to watch the first knockout rounds in February.

The matches will be shown across four TV channels (TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports 2, TNT Sports 3, TNT Sports 4), plus six digital or red-button channels (TNT Sports 5 to 10), and TNT Sports Ultimate plus TNT Sports Box Office HD.

VOTE: What should Mo Salah do next?

Liverpool FC has been handed an urgent contract demand following a recent rule change that could potentially “unlock” an explosive transfer for the club.

The rule change, which allows clubs to sign players on pre-contract agreements six months before their current deal expires, has put Liverpool in a prime position to make a significant addition to their squad.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, the Reds have been urged to act quickly and secure the services of the player in question before other clubs swoop in.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the potential signing and are hopeful that it will provide a much-needed boost to the team as they continue to push for success in both domestic and European competitions.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as Liverpool looks to capitalize on this rule change and secure a game-changing transfer.

    TRENDING RUMORS

Chelsea are set to make an offer to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to L’Equipe. Garnacho, 20, has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim and is also of interest to Napoli as they seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG for €60m. United are looking to raise funds, and Marcus Rashford could also depart, but want a fee of €95m to let Garnacho go. However, a swap deal involving Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku could reduce the total amount for all concerned and United are keen to bring him in.

    – It’s Deadline Day in the Women’s Super League (WSL) and Chelsea are eager to complete the signing of Barcelona midfielder Keira Walsh, sources have told ESPN. Walsh’s contract is up at the end of the season and Arsenal were heavily linked with her last summer. However, sources have told ESPN that Chelsea have moved quickly and are optimistic of getting the deal across the line, with the fee at around €550,000.

Elsewhere, Manchester City forward Chloe Kelly has released an emotional statement asking to be granted her wish to leave the club in search of first-team football. Sources have told ESPN that Manchester United remain keen to sign Kelly on loan, and she has turned down a move to Brighton, but City are reluctant to let her leave for their rivals and another side in the mix at the top of the table. There could also be a major move in Europe as Squad Depth reports that Lyon are finalising an $830,000 (€800,000) deal to sign Houston Dash defender Tarciane.

    – Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán is set to undergo his medical ahead of his proposed move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Athletic. The two teams are reported to have agreed a £64.5m deal for the 21-year-old, despite him recently signing a six-year contract at Villa Park in October. Duran has since been linked with an exit from the club in a continued struggle to garner first-team football over current starter Ollie Watkins, who the Villains rejected a reported £60m offer from Arsenal for on Wednesday. Manager Unai Emery said post-match after Villa’s 4-2 win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League that Durán’s move is “good news” for the club as it shows they are doing the right things in terms of developing players.

Manchester United want to sign Sporting CP full-back Geovany Quenda as he eyes a reunion with former boss Ruben Amorim, says O Jogo. Left-back Patrick Dorgu is poised to join from Lecce for €35m, but Amorim will also need a right-back for his 3-4-2-1 formation and the 17-year-old Quenda is top of his wishlist. United won’t push for a deal this month due to a lack of funds, but will try and land him in the summer.

    – Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is attracting interest from Al Hilal, according to Globo Esporte. The Saudi Pro League side have reportedly identified the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Neymar, who was confirmed to have agreed a move to return to Santos on Tuesday. Initial talks are said to have taken place with Los Blancos, though it is expected that a move could be difficult to complete in the middle of the season. Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah is also believed to remain on Al Hilal’s radar, though they are currently exploring alternatives.

    EXPERT TAKE

ESPN’s Sam Tighe looks at why Aston Villa couldn’t say no to a huge offer to sign Jhon Durán.

The word “enigma” has become overused in football, but in Durán’s case it’s the perfect way to describe a chaotic, mysterious, incredible, but baffling footballer.

From a pure talent and potential perspective, few can hold a candle to him. He has scored 20 goals for Aston Villa and almost all of them have been utterly remarkable, from his swerving Goal of the Season contender against Everton, to his audacious lob against Bayern Munich, barely a month goes by without him doing something to send jaws to the floor.

The conundrum with the 21-year-old has been that outside of his delicious ball-striking and natural nose for goal, his game is unrefined — a fact hammered home by the sheer contrast in his understanding of holdup, pressing and game management to Villa teammate Ollie Watkins.

The two have struggled to co-exist, in part because they struggle to play together, but also because they both demand to be first choice. Something was going to give in 2025 and it’s no surprise that it’s Durán that departs, as Unai Emery understandably prefers Watkins’ reliability over the Colombia international’s maverick nature.

That, plus the fact a fee of £64.5m plus bonuses should effectively solve any Profit and sustainability rules (PSR) concerns Villa may have had this campaign, makes it an opportunity the club can’t pass up.

According to recent reports, Chelsea have intensified their pursuit of Barcelona wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho. The 17-year-old forward has been turning heads with his impressive performances for Barcelona’s youth teams, and Chelsea are said to be eager to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho is considered one of the brightest young talents in Spanish football, and Chelsea are hoping to beat out competition from other top European clubs to secure his signature. The Blues have reportedly been in talks with Barcelona over a potential transfer fee, with negotiations said to be progressing well.

If Chelsea are successful in their pursuit of Garnacho, it could be a major coup for the club as they look to bolster their attacking options for the future. With the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Christian Pulisic already in their ranks, adding Garnacho to the mix could make Chelsea’s attacking lineup even more formidable.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing transfer saga as Chelsea look to finalize a deal for Garnacho in the coming weeks.
