    The Detroit Lions’ NFC Divisional Round home game against the Washington Commanders featured a special guest.

    Former professional basketball player LiAngelo Ball—the brother of Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball and Charlotte Hornets standout LaMelo Ball—performed his viral smash hit “Tweaker” during Saturday night’s game:

    This comes after Ball was seen performing the song during a soundcheck hours before kickoff at Ford Field.

    The Lions celebrated earning the NFC No. 1 seed by blasting “Tweaker” in their locker room, so it’s no surprise Ball performed on Saturday. The song was officially released on Jan. 4 and debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

    Before starting a burgeoning music career, Ball played in the NBA G-League and in Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional in Mexico. He was a member of the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets organizations during his time in the G-League.

    Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Ball has signed a deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group worth up to $13 million.

    The Lions finished the 2024 season with a 15-2 record and a Week 18 victory over the then-14-2 Minnesota Vikings sealed the top seed and a bye into the Divisional Round.

    On Friday, LiAngelo Ball, who goes by the rapper name G3, released the official audio to his new song, “Tweaker.”

    In just under 24 hours since its official release, the song garnered over 816,000 views — and counting — on YouTube. It was also released on Apple Music and Spotify.

    The song is catchy and brings a feeling of nostalgia with its mix of modern-day production and a sound from the mid-early 2000s.

    Lonzo supported LiAngelo following the release. He wrote on X: “Been tryna tell y’all @LiAngeloBall really like that,” before hinting LiAngelo has more music to release.

    LiAngelo Ball teased the song during a Kick stream with N3on on Dec. 27. Once the internet caught wind, the song took on a life of its own. In the time since, social media has playfully embraced the nostalgic nature of the song, urging Ball to release the track.

    LiAngelo Ball song, explained

    During the stream, Ball plays a variety of music for N3on as they drive around Los Angeles. As they continue their trip, Ball mentions he has unreleased music on the way and N3on urges him to play it.

    LiAngelo Ball appears primed to strike while the iron is hot as “G3 (Liangelo Ball) – Tweaker (Official Audio)” is scheduled to premiere on WorldStarHipHop’s YouTube channel at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 3.

    Ahead of the WorldStarHipHop release, Lonzo Ball took to X (formerly Twitter) for some promo, sharing screenshots and links to “Tweaker” on digital service providers.

    Based on the engagement the snippet got, the track could be a popular one to stream over the weekend.
