Bogdan Grad vs Lucas Alexander (Featherweight)

Hamdy Abdelwahab vs Jamal Pogues (Heavyweight)

Bogdan Grad: Austrian debutant aiming to make mark in UFC

Bogdan Grad (14-2) took his second chance in Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2024 as he earned a split decision win over Michael Aswell. He previously tried his luck through the Contender Series the previous year but suffered a knockout loss to Tom Nolan in what was his only loss in his last nine fights. Otherwise, Grad has been on a tear with six stoppages in those eight wins and he will now look to make his mark on his promotion debut.

Lucas Alexander: The Lion looking to bounce back from knockout loss

Lucas Alexander (8-4) will have to come back from having suffered the first knockout loss of his pro MMA career last time out. He was knocked out in the first round against Jeka Saragih at UFC Fight Night 232 back in November 2023 but there has been 15 months between fights to help him recover and bounce back so he will be eager to go here. The Brazilian had been on a tear to earn his shot in the UFC riding a five-fight win streak and three consecutive knockout wins, but he has lost two of his three fights since joining the promotion and he will knows he needs a win here to stay relevant.

Bogdan Grad vs Lucas Alexander Prediction

The second bout on the card is another close one to call given the lack of experience of both fighters at this level.

Bogdan Grad has shown good development in getting to this level but so many of his fights have come at a lower level. In the two opportunities he had via Dana White’s Contender Series, he was knocked out in the first and then grabbed a split decision win in the second to earn this opportunity. It has not been plain sailing for him.

Lucas Alexander does have more experience having fought three times in the Octagon but he has lost two of those.

We marginally favour his experience at this level and one of those losses did come at the hands of Joanderson Brito who has shown himself to be a handy operator. That could well be key for Alexander in this crunch bout for both fighters.

Both are explosive and this fight and the method of victory are both pretty unpredictable. We can see a little caution in both fighters here so would be no surprise to see it go the distance, but Alexander just about gets our vote.

    Prediction: Lucas Alexander to win

UFC Fight Night 250 is just around the corner and one of the most highly anticipated matchups on the card is between Bogdan Grad and Lucas Alexander. Both fighters are known for their explosive fighting styles and this bout is expected to be a barnburner.

Bogdan Grad, a rising star in the UFC’s welterweight division, is coming off an impressive win in his last fight and is looking to continue his momentum. With a strong striking game and solid grappling skills, Grad poses a serious threat to anyone in the division.

On the other hand, Lucas Alexander is a seasoned veteran with a wealth of experience inside the octagon. Known for his knockout power and aggressive fighting style, Alexander is always a dangerous opponent for anyone he faces.

In this matchup, expect a back-and-forth battle with both fighters looking to impose their will on the other. Grad will look to keep the fight standing and use his striking to wear down Alexander, while Alexander will be looking to land a big shot and end the fight early.

Prediction: This fight has all the makings of a Fight of the Night contender, but in the end, I see Bogdan Grad coming out on top with a unanimous decision victory. His well-rounded skill set and ability to control the pace of the fight will be the key to his success in this matchup.

Make sure to tune in to UFC Fight Night 250 to catch all the action and see who comes out on top in this exciting welterweight showdown.

  • UFC flyweight Mayra Bueno Silva moved back to Brazil to plan wife’s pregnancy

Mayra Bueno Silva joined The Fighting Nerds ahead of her UFC Saudi Arabia clash with Jasmine Jasudavicius on Feb. 1 but that decision isn’t related to training or her MMA career.

“Sheetara”, who trained at American Top Team in Florida prior to the move, told MMA Fighting that returning to Sao Paulo, the home state of her wife Gloria de Paula, was to start grow the family. Together since August of 2016, Silva and de Paula are now planning to have a baby.

“We’re going to be moms,” Silva said, “so we’ll start the in vitro fertilization process and be close to family, close to home and out moms, because it’s a hard process for Gloria while I’m in camp. I want her to be as comfortable as possible and surrounded by love. That’s why we’re back. I love American Top Team, I love my little man ‘Parrumpa’. We had no issues, nothing like that. We only came back because we decided to become mothers.”

Silva competed for the UFC bantamweight belt in January 2024 and now returns to flyweight looking for more challenges. De Paula, on the other hand, went 0-2 since parting ways with the UFC in June 2022. “Sheetara” also wants to get pregnant one day, she said, but it’s “Glorinha’s” turn now.

“We started the IVF process now,” Silva said. “Gloria will get pregnant now, and in the future it’s my turn. I really want to get pregnant. My dream as a child was to get married and become a mom. I want to get pregnant in the future, yes.

“I dream of being a mother, too, and the end of the career comes faster for women,” she continued. “I believe I have what, five years left in my career? If you think about it, it’s not a lot. Men last longer. So I want to enjoy every little moment, every fight. We fight two, three times a year, and that’s not much for all the hard work we put in. I want to enjoy every process because it all ends so fast, and one day I’ll be telling my kids what I used to do.”

The 33-year-old fighter is cutting back to flyweight more than three years after leaving the division looking for “motivation” and “fun” after coming up short in a title fight at bantamweight.

“It’s the fun of starting something new in a quest for a belt, something that lights up a fire in me again.” Silva said. “Can I do it? Can I go after another belt? It’s hard, but it lights up a cool fire in me, it keeps me alive.”

Cutting the extra 10 pounds isn’t easy, though, and “Sheetara” has to make sacrifices in order to get down to 125 pounds on Friday morning. Yet, Silva said that being “extremely hyperactive” helps her deal with hard tasks. Her last flyweight bout was a decision loss to Manon Fiorot in Las Vegas — and she absolutely hates looking back at that fight week.

“The weight cut for Fiorot is something I don’t even like remembering because she had COVID at that time [and postponed the fight] and I had to cut weight twice,” Silva said. “It was very sad to me, you know? That’s when I had concussion because of the dehydration. It was a horrible fight, the worst fight of my life. That was a very painful process in my life.

“I’m healthy now, I’m fine, I’m cutting down in weight and it’s good. Is it hard? Yeah, sometimes you go to a party and can’t eat. You can’t go to the movies, you have restrictions at home. Sometimes Gloria wants to eat something and I can’t, but I’m trying to enjoy the process because I don’t have much time left doing this.”

Jasudavicius, winner of her past three with two $50,000 performance bonuses cashed, welcomes Silva back to the flyweight division looking to enter the top 10 of the UFC’s 125-pound weight class. Silva knows her well, and sees holes in her game.

“We have similar styles, she’s a grappling finisher and so am I,” Silva said. “I love Jasmine. We’ve trained together at American Top Team and she’s sensational, has super high-level grappling and I have to be careful or she can complicate things for me. But she’s good at something I’m excellent at, which is finishing fights. The match-up is bad for her, I think. We see many holes in her game, but she’s a very tough girl.”

UFC flyweight Mayra Bueno Silva has announced that she is moving back to her home country of Brazil in order to plan for her wife’s pregnancy. The 26-year-old fighter made the decision to return to Brazil in order to be closer to her family and have the support system she needs during this important time in her life.

Silva, who made her UFC debut in 2018, has quickly become a rising star in the flyweight division. Known for her aggressive fighting style and impressive grappling skills, Silva has quickly climbed the ranks and is now looking to take some time off from fighting in order to focus on starting a family with her wife.

In a recent interview, Silva expressed her excitement about the next chapter in her life, saying, “I am so grateful for the opportunity to become a mother and start a family with my wife. This is something we have been dreaming of for a long time and I am thrilled to be able to focus on this new chapter in our lives.”

While Silva is taking a break from fighting to focus on her family, she has made it clear that she is not retiring from the sport and plans to return to the octagon once she has welcomed her new addition to the family. Fans of Silva can expect to see her back in action in the near future, but for now, she is focused on planning for the arrival of her new little one.

  • Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Mayra Bueno Silva prediction, odds, pick for UFC Saudi Arabia

ClutchPoints is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to any sportsbook. Gambling is not offered on this website in any form.

We’re back with another betting prediction and pick for tUFC Saudi Arabia as we look ahead to this upcoming showdown in the Women’s Flyweight (125) Division. No. 12 Jasmine Jasudavicius of Canada will face No. 7 Mayra Bueno Silva of Brazil as both fighters work towards earning a title shot. Check the UFC odds series for our Jasudavicius-Silva prediction and pick.

Jasmine Jasudavicius (12-3) has gone an impressive 6-2 under the UFC banner. She’s notched three-straight wins over Priscila Cachoeira, Fatima Kline, and Ariane Lipski. She also has two submission wins via d’arce choke during that stretch, so she’ll look for a similar result as the moderate betting favorite. She stands 5-foot-7 with a 68-inch reach.

Mayra Bueno Silva (10-4-1) has gone 5-4-1-1 during her time with the UFC. She’s gone 0-2-1 during her last three appearances and notably fought for the Bantamweight championship against Raquel Pennington. Most recently dropping her last fight, she’ll look to claw her way back to title contention with an upset win. She stands 5-foot-6 with a 66.5-inch reach.

Here are the UFC Saudi Arabia Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

UFC Saudi Arabia Odds: Jasmine Jasudavicius-Mayra Bueno Silva Odds

    Jasmine Jasudavicius: -230

    Mayra Bueno Silva: +190

    Over 2.5 rounds: -330

    Under 2.5 rounds: +240

    Why Jasmine Jasudavicius Will Win

    • Last Fight: (W) Ariane Lipski da Silva – SUB (d’arce choke, R3)
    • Last 5: 4-1
    • Finishes: 2 KO/TKO, 3 SUB

Jasmine Jasudavicius has been on a tear since suffering her last UFC loss in September 2023. She’s won three-straight fights while finding two d’arce finishes, earning a Performance of the Night bonus in both of those efforts. She’s a classically-trained jiu jitsu practitioner and is very hard to stop on the ground, never being submitted in her professional career. Her boxing has also greatly improved over the last few fights as she uses it to set up her takedowns along the fence. Look for her to lean more on her striking in this one against a tough grappler like Silva.

Jasmine Jasudavicius also fights with an extremely high IQ and doesn’t tend to put herself in many dangerous positions. She’s very patient in finding her offense and likes to remain steady with her striking attack while timing her opponent’s rhythm. She’ll have some knockout power coming back her way, so expect Jasudavicius to stay moving in the pocket as she looks to slip punches and counter from in close.

Why Mayra Bueno Silva Will Win

    • Last Fight: (L) Macy Chiasson – TKO (doctor stoppage)
    • Last 5: 2-2-1
    • Finishes: 1 KO/TKO, 7 SUB

Mayra Bueno Silva will be returning to action following her last fight being cut short by a doctor’s stoppage. Silva had sustained a cut from an elbow and it was one of the nastier cuts we’ve seen in recent memory. She was holding her own during the fight, but a big focal point for her moving forward will be improving her defense and not allowing opponents to connect with clean shots. Her power allows her to have an advantage during a slug fest, but she’ll need to be conscious of her own well-being if she plans to fight like that.

With seven wins by submission, Mayra Bueno Silva will look to force this fight to the ground. She hasn’t notched one of her signature submissions in three fights, so it’ll be interesting to see how willing she is to engage in the grappling during this one. Still, Silva usually begins her attack on the feet and will look to back her opponent into a corner. From there, look for her to utilize the clinch as she’s one of the stronger fighters in the weight class.

Final Jasmine Jasudavicius-Mayra Bueno Silva Prediction & Pick

This should be a great fight between two high-level grapplers as both women are capable of finding submissions quickly. Jasmine Jasudavicius has won her last three fights while Mayra Bueno Silva is searching for her first win in two years. We can’t forget that she recently fought for the title and has effectively beaten some of the top fighters in the division.

Still, I believe the biggest difference in this fight will be the foot movement of Jasmine Jasudavicius. She’s the much faster and agile fighter, so she should be able to circle away from Silva and tire her out by the third round. It’ll be a close fight if they begin grappling, but I expect Jasudavicius to dictate this one with her striking from range. For our final betting prediction, let’s roll with Jasudavicius to get the win as the betting favorite.

Final Jasmine Jasudavicius-Mayra Bueno Silva Prediction & Pick: Jasmine Jasudavicius (-230)

Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Mayra Bueno Silva Prediction, Odds, Pick for UFC Saudi Arabia

In an exciting matchup set to take place at UFC Saudi Arabia, Jasmine Jasudavicius will face off against Mayra Bueno Silva in what promises to be a thrilling fight.

Jasudavicius, known for her striking skills and aggressive fighting style, will be looking to make a statement in this bout. With a record of 5 wins and 1 loss, she has shown that she has what it takes to compete at the highest level in the Octagon.

On the other hand, Silva, with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, is a well-rounded fighter with a strong ground game. She will be looking to use her grappling skills to control the fight and secure a victory.

In terms of odds, both fighters are evenly matched, with the bookmakers giving each of them a good chance of winning. However, based on their recent performances and fighting styles, I predict that Jasudavicius will come out on top in this matchup.

My pick for this fight is Jasmine Jasudavicius to win by TKO in the second round. Make sure to tune in to UFC Saudi Arabia to catch all the action and see if my prediction comes true!

Hamdy Abdelwahab vs Jamal Pogues (Heavyweight)

Terrance McKinney: American vet seeking to bounce back from fifth career-KO loss

Terrance McKinney (15-7) is coming off a head kick knockout loss by Esteban Ribovics last May and that was the fifth time he has been stopped by KO/TKO. His punch resistance appears to be waning but his fights continue to be hugely entertaining. 18 of his 22 bouts have ended in the first round regardless of the outcome and none of his fights have ever gone the distance. There will be no change in approach from the 30-year-old coming into this one as he will look for the spectacular finish as he always does.

Damir Hadzovic: Bosnian-Danish star needs win after three losses in last four

Damir Hadzovic (14-7) has lost three of his last four fights but the Bosnian-Danish star will be hoping time out of the Octagon will help him come back refreshed. He has not fought since July 2022 although he was due to fight in February last year but visa issues put paid to that fight against Bolaji Oki. The 38-year-old will know just how important this fight is to his future prospects in the organisation, but he will have to overcome any rust ahead of this bout.

Terrance McKinney vs Damir Hadzovic Prediction

This bout has the hallmarks of being one of the more entertaining ones on the prelims at UFC Fight Night 250.

Terrance McKinney is never involved in a boring fight and he takes on Damir Hadzovic who has not fought in two and a half years.

It is hard to make a case for Hadzovic after so long out of action. McKinney is always one punch away from winning or losing a fight but he has been active and will be motivated to get back to winning ways.

We have to side with McKinney in this one. Hadzovic was not tearing up any trees before his absence and it is hard to see a change in fortunes after so long out of action.

Prediction: Terrance McKinney to win via KO/TKO or submission

Terrance McKinney vs Damir Hadzovic at UFC Fight Night 250 | Preview & Prediction

In an exciting lightweight matchup, Terrance McKinney will take on Damir Hadzovic at UFC Fight Night 250. Both fighters are known for their aggressive fighting styles and have the potential to put on a show for fans.

McKinney is coming off an impressive UFC debut where he secured a stunning seven-second knockout victory over Matt Frevola. His speed and power make him a dangerous opponent for anyone in the division. Hadzovic, on the other hand, is a seasoned veteran with a well-rounded skill set. He has shown his ability to finish fights both on the feet and on the ground.

This matchup has all the makings of a barnburner, with both fighters looking to make a statement in the lightweight division. McKinney will look to continue his momentum and prove that his debut was no fluke, while Hadzovic will be aiming to bounce back from a recent loss and solidify his spot in the rankings.

In terms of prediction, I believe McKinney’s explosive striking and athleticism will give him the edge in this matchup. I predict that he will be able to use his speed and power to overwhelm Hadzovic and secure a victory, possibly by knockout. However, Hadzovic is a tough and experienced fighter who should not be counted out, so fans can expect an exciting and competitive fight.

Be sure to tune in to UFC Fight Night 250 to catch all the action between McKinney and Hadzovic, as well as other exciting matchups on the card. It’s sure to be a night full of thrilling fights and memorable moments.

  • Terrance McKinney believes he got the “perfect” opponent in Damir Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia

Terrance McKinney is ready to prove that he’s a contender at lightweight.

McKinney is set to return to the Octagon at UFC Saudi Arabia against Damir Hadzovic. It’s his first fight since May when he was knocked out by Esteban Ribovics. After the loss, McKinney wanted to make sure he was completely healthy and made a change in his camp, which led to a longer layoff.

“Exactly, make sure my body is healthy and make sure I’m with the right team so we can start eliminating these mistakes… I train at Fusion XL in Florida, Mike Davis, Lucas Alexander, Phil Rowe, and so many talented guys who are always coming in. I moved down to Orlando and it’s been a huge blessing,” McKinney said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com.

Once McKinney was ready to return, he wasn’t sure who he would get. He will face Damir Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia, and McKinney calls it the perfect opponent for him.

“I don’t mind it, everything happens for a reason. This is a perfect opponent for me to come back to and get back in my groove and get back in my winning ways,” McKinney said. “I know he’s a scrapper, he’s a veteran, and his defense is solid. I’m taking it seriously.”

Terrance McKinney, the rising UFC lightweight prospect, is set to face off against Damir Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia. And McKinney believes he couldn’t have asked for a better opponent.

In a recent interview, McKinney expressed his confidence in facing Hadzovic, stating that he sees him as the “perfect” opponent to showcase his skills and prove himself in the octagon. McKinney believes that Hadzovic’s fighting style plays into his strengths, and he is fully prepared to come out on top in their upcoming bout.

With a record of 12 wins and 3 losses, McKinney is determined to continue his impressive run in the UFC and prove that he belongs among the top contenders in the lightweight division. And facing Hadzovic is just another step towards achieving his ultimate goal of becoming a champion.

Fans can expect an exciting and action-packed fight when McKinney takes on Hadzovic at UFC Saudi Arabia. Stay tuned for what promises to be a thrilling showdown between two talented fighters.

Hamdy Abdelwahab: Egyptian returns after two-year USADA suspension

Hamdy Abdelwahab (5-0 with one no contest) is coming off over two years out through a USADA suspension so the Egyptian heavyweight will be desperate to make up for lost time. He did actually pick up a split decision win on his UFC debut against Don’Tale Mayes at UFC 277 in July 2022 but he subsequently failed a drugs test so that was changed to a no contest. He had knocked out all five opponents prior to that fight and the Egyptian powerhouse will be looking for a stoppage on his return to action here.

Jamal Pogues: The Stormtrooper aiming to make it three wins in four in the Octagon

Jamal Pogues (11-4) returns to action almost a year since his last fight and he will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Octagon for the first time. After winning on his UFC debut by unanimous decision against Josh Parisian, he then suffered a loss the same way to Mick Parkin. Last time out, he met Thomas Petersen at UFC Fight Night 235 and he got the nod on the scorecards there so he will be eager to follow that up here.

Hamdy Abdelwahab vs Jamal Pogues Prediction

We have a heavyweight match-up to kick things off at UFC Fight Night 250 and it promises to be an intriguing bout between Hamdy Abdelwahab and Jamal Pogues.

Hamdy Abdelwahab will come into the bout looking for a knockout and that is his principle route to victory. Pogues on the other hand will look to control the bout, use his stamina to take Abdelwahab deep into the fight and he will fancy his chances of winning if he can take it the distance.

Abdelwahab has not fought in over two and a half years and it will be interesting to see if there is any rust in his game.

The bookies have this bout pretty evenly-matched but for all Abdelwahab’s hype, it will take an impressive performance to get a win here. We just edge the factors in Pogues favour to win and it will likely come on the scorecards.

Prediction: Jamal Pogues to win via decision

UFC Fight Night 250 is set to feature an exciting matchup between Hamdy Abdelwahab and Jamal Pogues in the light heavyweight division. Both fighters are looking to make a statement and climb the ranks in one of the most competitive weight classes in the UFC.

Abdelwahab, a talented striker with a background in Muay Thai, will be looking to use his crisp striking and devastating knockout power to finish Pogues early in the fight. With a record of 12 wins and 3 losses, Abdelwahab is known for his aggressive fighting style and ability to finish fights in spectacular fashion.

On the other hand, Pogues, a well-rounded fighter with a background in wrestling, will be looking to use his grappling skills to control the fight and wear down Abdelwahab. With a record of 8 wins and 3 losses, Pogues is known for his relentless pressure and ability to dominate his opponents on the ground.

In this highly anticipated matchup, it will be interesting to see if Abdelwahab’s striking can overcome Pogues’ grappling and wrestling skills. If Abdelwahab can keep the fight standing and land his power shots, he will have a good chance of coming out on top. However, if Pogues can take the fight to the ground and control the action, he will have a good chance of securing a victory.

Overall, this matchup has all the makings of an exciting and closely contested fight. Both fighters have the skills and determination to come out on top, but only one will emerge victorious. Tune in to UFC Fight Night 250 to see who will come out on top in this thrilling light heavyweight showdown.

Prediction: Hamdy Abdelwahab via TKO in the second round.

    Pogues
    (11-4, 2-1 UFC)

    ODDS: Abdelwahab (-112), Pogues (-108)

Two and a half years after his impressive UFC debut, Abdelwahab
returns to the Octagon. A former Olympic wrestler for his native
Egypt, Abdelwahab was a worthy enough flier for the UFC in 2022 on
that background alone, and he at least showed the ability to
quickly knock out some low-level competition during his brief mixed
martial arts career. Abdelwahab’s UFC debut win over Don’Tale
    Mayes
wasn’t particularly pretty, but it was something to build
on. When he proved unable to knock Mayes out early, Abdelwahab did
well to just keep pressuring and throwing out volume, even if he
did tire and run out of ideas. However, Abdelwahab was pulled out
of a subsequent booking due to a failed drug test, but the UFC did
stick by him after that screen and after he failed a subsequent
test, so he now makes his return against Pogues. Syndicate MMA’s
Pogues has won two out of his three UFC fights to date, but it’s
still hard to tell exactly what to make of “The Stormtrooper.”
Pogues was a solid prospect as a regional light heavyweight, as he
was able to impose himself as a bully with his wrestling. Things
have been much more of a mixed bag since he’s now clearly a
full-time heavyweight. His wrestling is effective in spots, and he
has some fast hands combined with some low power, making for a lot
of close and aimless affairs. Pogues could just survive and outlast
the Egyptian, but even an exhausted Abdelwahab figures to be
stronger and more potent than the American down the stretch. As
long as the layoff and drug test failures don’t affect him, this
looks like Abdelwahab’s fight to lose. The pick is Abdelwahab via
    decision.

  • Hamdy Abdelwahab vs. Jamal Pogues prediction, odds, pick for UFC Saudi Arabia

ClutchPoints is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to any sportsbook. Gambling is not offered on this website in any form.

UFC Saudi Arabia: Israel Adesanya vs. Nassourdine Imavov kicks off the prelims with a fight in the heavyweight division between Hamdy Abdelwahab and Jamal Pogues. Abdelwahab was successful in his UFC debut only to have his win overturned to a No-Contest meanwhile, Pogues got back on track with a unanimous decision his last time out. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Abdelwahab-Pogues prediction and pick.

Hamdy Abdelwahab (3-0, 1 NC) was victorious in his UFC debut against Don’Tale Mayes but it was quickly overturned after he failed a drug test where he was hit with a 6-month ban from the UFC’s anti-doping program. Now, he will be looking to get his first win inside the octagon when he takes on Jamal Pogues this weekend at UFC Saudi Arabia.

Jamal Pogues (11-4) got back on track against Thomas Petersen in his last fight after suffering his first defeat in his UFC career against Mick Parkin. Now at 2-1 in the world’s largest MMA promotion, Pogues will be looking to extend his winning ways and continue his way up the heavyweight rankings when he steps inside the octagon this weekend.

Here are the UFC Saudi Arabia Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

UFC Saudi Arabia Odds: Hamdy Abdelwahab-Jamal Pogues Odds

    Hamdy Abdelwahab: -115

    Why Hamdy Abdelwahab Will Win

    • Last Fight: (NC) Don’Tale Mayes
    • Last 5: 3-0, 1 NC
    • Finishes: 3 (3 KO/TKO)

Hamdy Abdelwahab is poised to secure a victory over Jamal Pogues at UFC Saudi Arabia this weekend, leveraging his powerful striking and elite Greco-Roman wrestling background. Abdelwahab, an Olympic wrestler and undefeated mixed martial artist (3-0, 1 NC), has demonstrated a knack for finishing fights, with all three of his wins coming via KO/TKO. His striking accuracy (52%) outshines Pogues’ 44%, and he lands more significant strikes per minute (3.87 vs. 3.36), showcasing his superior offensive efficiency. Additionally, Abdelwahab’s wrestling pedigree gives him a decisive edge in grappling exchanges, as he averages three takedowns per 15 minutes with a 75% success rate.

While Pogues will aim to exploit his reach advantage and drag the fight into deeper rounds, Abdelwahab’s explosiveness and ability to dictate the pace make him the favorite. If Abdelwahab can impose his wrestling and land heavy strikes early, he is likely to overwhelm Pogues and secure another knockout victory.

    Why Jamal Pogues Will Win

    • Last Fight: (W) Thomas Petersen – DEC
    • Last 5: 4-1
    • Finishes: 5 (4 KO/TKO/1 SUB)

Jamal “The Stormtrooper” Pogues is poised to secure a victory over Hamdy Abdelwahab at UFC Saudi Arabia this weekend, leveraging his impressive striking accuracy and evolving grappling skills. Pogues, standing at 6’3″ with a 77-inch reach, has demonstrated remarkable striking efficiency in his recent UFC outings. His ability to land significant strikes with precision, evidenced by his 52.8% striking accuracy against Thomas Petersen and 62.% against Josh Parisian, gives him a distinct advantage in the stand-up game. Moreover, Pogues’ well-rounded skillset is reflected in his professional record of 11-4-0, with 4 wins by knockout and 1 by submission, showcasing his ability to finish fights both on the feet and on the ground.

While Abdelwahab boasts an Olympic wrestling background, Pogues has shown significant improvement in his takedown defense and ground game. Pogues’ experience in the UFC, having fought top-tier competition, will prove invaluable against the relatively new UFC entrant Abdelwahab. With a UFC record of 2-1 and 45 minutes of Octagon time under his belt, Pogues has acclimated well to the pressures of fighting on the biggest stage in MMA. His ability to maintain composure and execute his game plan over three rounds will be crucial in outworking Abdelwahab and securing a decisive victory on the scorecards or potentially finding a late stoppage as his opponent tires.

Final Hamdy Abdelwahab-Jamal Pogues Prediction & Pick

This should be a great scrap to kick off UFC Saudi Arabia as both of these heavyweights will be looking to get a statement win when they step inside the octagon this weekend. Abdelwahab looked like a promising fighter in his UFC debut but that was short-lived after his failed drug test meanwhile, Pogues has the potential to move up the rankings with another win this weekend. This fight boils down to who can implement their gameplan as Abdelwahab will be searching for the takedowns early and often while Pogues will want to keep this fight on the feet where he can outstrike Abdelwahab.

Ultimately, Pogues has shown stellar takedown defense during his time so far in the UFC and while Abdelwahab is a high-level wrestler, Pogues should make him work early for those takedowns which should pay dividends later in this fight as Pogues picks Abdelwahab apart down the stretch to get the nod on the judge’s scorecards.

Final Hamdy Abdelwahab-Jamal Pogues Prediction & Pick: Jamal Pogues (-105), Over 2.5 Rounds (-250)

In what promises to be an exciting matchup, Hamdy Abdelwahab will take on Jamal Pogues at UFC Saudi Arabia. Both fighters have solid records and will be looking to make a statement in this bout.

Abdelwahab, with his strong striking and grappling skills, will be a tough challenge for Pogues. Pogues, on the other hand, is known for his power and aggressiveness in the octagon. This fight has all the makings of a thrilling showdown.

In terms of odds, Abdelwahab is currently the favorite to win, but Pogues should not be underestimated. Both fighters have the potential to come out on top in this matchup.

In my prediction, I believe that Abdelwahab will emerge victorious in a close and hard-fought battle. His well-rounded skills and experience will give him the edge over Pogues. However, Pogues is a dangerous opponent and could very well pull off an upset.

  • Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik: Odds, full fight preview and prediction | UFC Saudi Arabia

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight sluggers Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik will go to war this weekend (Sat., Feb. 1, 2025) at UFC Saudi Arabia from anb Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It’s hard to describe the loss of aura suffered by Pavlovich in just two fights. The fearsome Russian boxer looked every part of a future champion in his six-fight knockout streak, refusing to let a single foe escape the first round. Getting blasted by Tom Aspinall was forgivable enough, especially since he managed to stun the current interim king too, but getting picked apart by former team mate Alexander Volkov for three full rounds?

    Nobody is scared anymore.

Rozenstruik has stepped into the cage with plenty of huge hitters anyway. The former professional kickboxer has won three of his last four, most recently pummeling Tai Tuivasa. Generally, he still seems to be improving, so perhaps the 36-year-old veteran hasn’t hit his ceiling just yet?

Let’s take a closer look at the betting odds and strategic keys for each athlete:

    How Pavlovich Wins

Pavlovich is a tank. Despite a background in Greco-Roman wrestling and Combat Sambo, Pavlovich more typically wins fights by clubbing his foes into unconsciousness with his heavy right hand.

Why wasn’t that right hand able to land against Volkov? Pavlovich really failed to close distance on his lanky opponent. Likely, Rozenstruik will try to employ a similar game plan and attempt to strand Pavlovich at distance, even if he’s not quite as rangy as “Drago.”

The keys to avoiding a repeat struggle are feints and footwork. Pavlovich cannot just run forward on a straight line at a dangerous counter puncher … well, okay, maybe he can, but that would make the outcome much more of a coin flip on who lands first. If instead he takes the time to cut off the cage and feint/jab Rozenstruik towards the fence, he stands a much better chance at safely scoring the same knockout.

UFC 305: Du Plessis v Adesanya

    How Rozenstruik Wins

Rozenstruik is a crafty kickboxing veteran. He excels at playing the long game, poking and prodding his opponents with quick jabs and light kicks. Then, when they return fire, he’ll sit them down with a check hook or counter combination.

That’s a great strategy against Pavlovich. The problem is the Francis Ngannou fight, in which “The Predator” bulldozed Rozenstruik by charging through his half-power offense with a very real blitz of heavy shots. Ngannou and Pavlovich have a similar level of world-altering power, and Rozenstruik doesn’t want to get blasted by a wild combo again.

To avoid that fate, Rozenstruik has to find a way to halt Pavlovich’s advance, which will buy him time to line up bigger counter shots. Volkov did so with snappy front kicks and counter right hands, but the body jab may end up Rozenstruik’s weapon of choice. If he can fire a stiff jab into the chest of Pavlovich when the Russian advances, it will help keep him and that clubbing right hand out of range.

Rozenstruik will have to stand his ground a bit in the process, but that’s a better recipe for success than sliding backwards and getting caught at the end of a flurry.

    Pavlovich vs. Rozenstruik Prediction

Even without his momentum, it’s tough to go against Sergei Pavlovich here.

Pavlovich will be the larger, faster, and more powerful man. At Heavyweight, those physical factors are the deciders more often not. Volkov may have been able to avoid his haymakers, but “Drago” also had a significant height advantage and plenty of training experience to aid him. Rozenstruik doesn’t have either of those edges, and he’s never shown to be a particularly crafty defensive fighter.

In a Heavyweight firefight, you might as well side with the guy bringing a bazooka.

    Prediction: Pavlovich via knockout

Sergei Pavlovich and Jairzinho Rozenstruik are set to go head-to-head in a highly anticipated heavyweight showdown at UFC Saudi Arabia. Both fighters are known for their knockout power and aggressive fighting styles, making this a must-watch matchup for MMA fans.

The odds for this fight are currently in favor of Rozenstruik, who has a record of 11-2 and is coming off a knockout victory over Augusto Sakai in his last fight. Pavlovich, on the other hand, boasts a record of 14-1 and is known for his technical striking and solid grappling skills.

In terms of fighting style, Rozenstruik is known for his heavy hands and knockout ability, while Pavlovich is more of a well-rounded fighter with a strong ground game. It will be interesting to see how these contrasting styles play out in the octagon.

In terms of prediction, this fight has the potential to be a back-and-forth battle with both fighters having the ability to finish the fight at any moment. However, I believe Rozenstruik will ultimately come out on top with his superior striking and knockout power.

Overall, this matchup between Pavlovich and Rozenstruik is sure to be an exciting one for fans of the heavyweight division. Be sure to tune in to UFC Saudi Arabia to catch all the action and see who comes out on top in this epic showdown.
