  • Ben Brereton Diaz and Thomas Cannon are joint-favourites at 5/1 to score first on Friday night – as Sheffield United and Hull City meet in a Championship clash

Sheffield United and Hull City go head-to-head in a Championship clash at Bramall Lane on Friday – as the Blades look to secure a pivotal win and go back atop the league table.

Sheffield United were league leaders as recently as Thursday – however – they were leapfrogged by Leeds United after the Whites defeated Norwich City 2-0 at Elland Road.

As a result of Leeds’ win, they are now second in the table and just one point adrift of first place.

Chris Wilder’s men are heavily tipped to return to the summit tonight – with his side entering Friday’s fixture as odds-on favourites at 7/10.

Ben Brereton Diaz and Tyrese Campbell are joint-favourites at 5/1 odds to score first tonight

Ben Brereton Diaz and Tyrese Campbell are joint-favourites at 5/1 odds to score first tonight

Meanwhile, Hull City are 18/5 outsiders to upset the applecart in enemy territory, and a draw is 11/4 odds.

It is worth noting that Sheffield United cruised to a 2-0 victory away from home in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Elsewhere, in the Goalscorers market – Sheffield United’s Ben Brereton Diaz and Thomas Cannon are joint-favourites at 5/1 to score first.

Conversely, if you’re anticipating Hull City to bag the opener, Joao Pedro Galvao is the best-backed for the visitors at 9/1.

New Blades recruit Cannon and Pedro have 14 league goals between them this season, while Brereton Diaz has played just one game off the bench for Sheffield United since joining the club on loan from Southampton.

  • Preview: Sheffield United vs. Hull City – prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Friday’s Championship clash between Sheffield United and Hull City, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Aiming to move to the top of the Championship table, Sheffield United will welcome Hull City to Bramall Lane on Friday.

The hosts currently sit second thanks to a three-match winning run and only trail leaders Leeds United by a single point, while their visitors sit one point adrift of safety heading into the weekend.

    Match preview

Sheffield United return to Championship action on Friday aiming to move to the summit of the table, having bounced back in style in recent weeks following a tricky festive period.

Aiming to win an immediate promotion back to the Premier League this term, the Blades have enjoyed a strong campaign thus far, winning a league-high tally of 60 points with only a two-point deduction denying them top spot, having lost ground around the turn of the year.

Following an 11-match league unbeaten run which culminated in three straight victories before Christmas, Chris Wilder‘s side saw their momentum halted in losses to fellow promotion-chasers Burnley and Sunderland either side of a draw with West Bromwich Albion, but they have since climbed back into the top two with three more wins on the bounce.

After picking up 2-1 and 2-0 triumphs away at Watford and at home to Norwich City respectively, with the latter coming thanks to a Harrison Burrows brace last weekend, the South Yorkshire outfit most recently visited Swansea City on Tuesday and came from behind to take all three points, as Rhian Brewster levelled the scores at a goal apiece early in the second half and Burrows converted a penalty to seal the victory.

Now sitting one point being league leaders Leeds United but only two ahead of Burnley and four ahead of Sunderland in the automatic promotion race, Sheffield United will aim to gain an edge and strengthen their standing with a home victory at the beginning of the weekend, having won 10 of their 13 league attempts at Bramall Lane thus far.

Their visitors, meanwhile, make the trip across Yorkshire in search of three crucial points in their own fight at the other end of the Championship.

Indeed, Hull City will aim to continue an encouraging start to life under Ruben Selles, who arrived in mid-December when they sat on just 15 points from 19 outings.

He has since overseen nine Championship outings including three victories and two draws to narrow the Tigers’ gap to safety, with their most recent triumph coming away at Millwall last weekend as a second-half Jake Cooper own-goal made the only difference between the sides.

Selles’s men then hosted in-form Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday but failed to make it back-to-back wins, instead coming away empty-handed with Joe Gelhardt‘s long-range goal not enough to spark a turnaround after Kenneth Paal and Koki Saito had the visitors 2-0 up after the hour mark.

While they will be left disappointed by that home defeat, Hull City do now only trail 21st-placed Derby County by a single point, and with cause to be optimistic about their away form, with only six sides topping the 22nd-placed Tigers’ tally of four league wins on the road this term, they will aim to take a major scalp on Friday and leap out of the bottom three.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi of Sheffield United celebrates scoring against Coventry City, on November 23, 2024© Imago

Sheffield United will remain without midfielder Oliver Arblaster and attacker Kieffer Moore due to injuries on Friday, with Tom Davies also set to remain sidelined, while key man Gustavo Hamer will miss out through suspension due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Their injury concerns have started to ease in some areas, though, with Tyrese Campbell fit to feature off the bench in Tuesday’s victory, while midfielder Vinicius Souza and winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi are both nearing returns to full fitness.

Indeed, Souza may rejoin Sydie Peck in the engine room, while Campbell could lead the line with support from Callum O’Hare, Rhian Brewster and either Rak-Sakyi, Andre Brooks or recent loan arrival Ben Brereton Diaz, who netted six goals in 14 Premier League appearances in his first loan spell with the Blades last term.

Hull City continue to deal with an unenviable injury list of their own heading into Friday’s trip, with Charlie Hughes, Lewie Coyle, Kasey Palmer, Mohamed Belloumi, Liam Millar and Ryan Longman all confined to the treatment room.

Ruben Selles could opt to make some changes to his starting XI from Tuesday’s defeat to QPR, and Ivor Pandur is bound to return between the sticks after Carl Rushworth was recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion, while Xavier Simons could take former Sheffield United man Regan Slater‘s place in the midfield.

Elsewhere, January arrivals Matt Crooks, Kyle Joseph and Nordin Amrabat will compete for attacking spots alongside Mason Burstow, after Joe Gelhardt, Gustavo Puerta and Harry Vaughan lined up behind Joao Pedro in midweek.

    Sheffield United possible starting lineup:
Cooper; Gilchrist, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Burrows; Souza, Peck; Brewster, O’Hare, Brooks; Campbell

    Hull City possible starting lineup:
Pandur; Drameh, Burns, Jones, McLoughlin; Simons, Alzate; Gelhardt, Puerta, Burstow; Crooks

    SM words green background

We say: Sheffield United 2-0 Hull City

Hull City can certainly cause any Championship side problems under Ruben Selles, and they have shown the potential to climb towards safety, but we see a trip to Bramall Lane as a step too far and back the in-form Blades to record a fourth straight league win in relatively routine fashion.

As Sheffield United prepare to take on Hull City in their upcoming match, both teams will be looking to secure a much-needed win. Sheffield United currently sit at the bottom of the table, while Hull City are not faring much better in 19th place.

    Team News:
Sheffield United will be without the services of key players such as John Fleck and Jack O’Connell, who are both sidelined with injuries. However, they will be boosted by the return of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who is set to start in goal.

On the other hand, Hull City will be missing George Honeyman and Mallik Wilks, who are both nursing injuries. However, they will have Callum Elder back in the lineup after serving a suspension.

    Predicted Lineups:
Sheffield United: Ramsdale, Basham, Egan, Ampadu, Baldock, Berge, Norwood, Lundstram, Stevens, McBurnie, Sharp

Hull City: Long, Coyle, Elder, Greaves, Burke, Docherty, Smallwood, Adelakun, Lewis-Potter, Eaves, Magennis

    Prediction:
Despite their struggles this season, Sheffield United will be eager to secure a much-needed win at home. With the return of Ramsdale in goal, they will be looking to keep a clean sheet and secure all three points. On the other hand, Hull City will be hoping to capitalize on Sheffield United’s defensive vulnerabilities and secure a win of their own.

Overall, I predict a hard-fought match with Sheffield United narrowly edging out Hull City with a 2-1 victory.

  • How United, Southwest are responding to Houston’s winter weather

As winter weather continues to wreak havoc in Houston, two major airlines, United and Southwest, are stepping up to assist affected passengers.

United Airlines has announced that they will be waiving change fees for customers traveling to, from, or through Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) between February 13th and 17th. This will allow passengers to rebook their flights without incurring any additional costs.

In addition, United is also working to accommodate customers who may be stranded at the airport by providing cots and blankets for those who are unable to secure a hotel room due to the inclement weather.

Southwest Airlines is also taking proactive measures to help passengers impacted by the winter storm. The airline has canceled multiple flights to and from Houston in order to ensure the safety of their passengers and crew members. Southwest is offering flexible rebooking options for affected travelers and has implemented a travel advisory for those flying in and out of Houston.

Both United and Southwest are closely monitoring the situation and are committed to providing support to their customers during this challenging time. Passengers are encouraged to check their flight status and contact their respective airlines for the most up-to-date information on their travel plans.

  • Kings, United record remarkable road wins

THE FINAL night of action in Round 17 of the National Basketball League (NBL) saw the Sydney Kings and Melbourne United record impressive victories on the road over the SEM Phoenix and the Perth Wildcats respectively.

With both clashes likely to have a massive effect on the final shape of the top four, it was a fitting way to close out a bumper round of action.

It all began at State Basketball Centre in Gippsland, as the Phoenix hosted the Kings with a chance to move into the top four. The hosts came into the clash as arguably the form team of the NBL, having knocked off some quality opponents of late. However, the Kings took home the chocolates the last time these sides clashed, and would have been quietly confident.

Despite not having home court advantage, Sydney produced a statement win on the eve of the finals, knocking off a fellow top-four contender and showing why it is still considered a threat for the championship.

The second period was the defining factor, with the Kings showing power on the offensive end and moving the ball to perfection. A 36-23 quarter put the Phoenix on the back foot, and although South East Melbourne tried to mount a comeback in the second half, it was unsuccessful as the Kings held on for an 11-point win.

Point guard Jaylen Adams was at his damaging best on the offensive end, producing 20 points, four rebounds and nine assists on 50 per cent shooting from the field. He had plenty of help from Kouat Noi, who knocked down six triples on nine attempts off the bench.

For the Phoenix, Nathan Sobey fought hard in the absence of Derrick Walton Jr, and posted a game-high 28 points, nailing all 11 of his attempts from the free throw line.

The action continued out West, as United claimed one of the toughest road wins in the NBL, defeating the Wildcats by six points at RAC Arena on Wednesday night.

Both sides have been gunning for a top-two spot, and were hardly separated on the ladder. However, Perth would have a significant advantage considering the travel involved for Melbourne, and the hosts had also been in ripping form of late.

It was a tussle for all four quarters, with neither side able to truly gain ascendancy at any stage of the match. Despite being on the road, United kept its nose in front in the last quarter, grinding out a gutsy win down the stretch to move closer to a guaranteed semi-final berth.

Although he did not record the best numbers, Shea Ili‘s ability to shut down Bryce Cotton was crucial in deciding the result of the match. The MVP favourite was restricted to just 14 points, five rebounds and five assists on 5/17 shooting from the field and was unable to take over when the game was on the line.

Melbourne forward Jack White was impressive for the victors, posting a huge double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds on an efficient 9/12 shooting, engaging in an enthralling duel with Kristian Doolittle, who had 33 points of his own.

In a stunning display of skill and determination, the Kings and United have achieved remarkable road wins in their recent matches. The Kings, led by their star player, dominated the court with precision passing and sharp shooting to secure a victory against a tough opponent. Meanwhile, United showcased their tenacity and teamwork by coming from behind to clinch a thrilling win in a hostile environment.

These impressive performances on the road demonstrate the strength and resilience of both teams, proving that they are true contenders in their respective leagues. Fans can look forward to more thrilling matches and impressive victories as the Kings and United continue to showcase their talent and determination on the road.

  • Manchester United vs Rangers LIVE! Europa League match stream, latest score and goal updates today

    Manchester United vs Rangers LIVE!

The Europa League hosts another eagerly-anticipated ‘Battle of Britain’ clash at Old Trafford tonight. Having fought to a tight draw with Tottenham at Ibrox last month, Rangers now head south of the border hoping to exploit a Manchester United side who have been largely dismal at home of late – with manager Ruben Amorim making headlines after Sunday’s defeat to Brighton by claiming his team were maybe the worst in the club’s history.

United have lost four of their last five games at home, though Europe has offered respite for Amorim so far with two opening wins to have them on course for automatic qualification for the last 16. They begin the night in seventh with 12 points and no defeats, with Rangers only a place and a point behind them after an encouraging season of their own on the continent that has come amid a hugely disappointing domestic campaign under Philippe Clement.

Rangers – who lost a pre-season friendly to United last summer – have never beaten or even scored a goal against this evening’s opponents in four previous meetings, while they have not won a European tie in England for more than 32 years. Follow Manchester United vs Rangers live below!

    • Standard Sport prediction

    Manchester United 0-0 Rangers

    20:11 , George Flood

9 mins: A huge chance for Rangers to take an early lead against the run of play!

Collyer gets caught in possession in a dangerous area and Igamane plays in Raskin, who stumbles at the crucial moment as he’s denied by Bayindir.

The rebound is then clipped onto the roof of the net by Ridvan Yilmaz.

    Manchester United 0-0 Rangers

    20:09 , George Flood

6 mins: Rangers try to counter-attack for the first time but Cerny can’t inspire any early threat for the visitors, who have barely got a touch of the ball so far despite the wonderful noise being created by their fans.

Some diligent defending from the likes of Raskin, getting back to help his defence.

    Manchester United 0-0 Rangers

    20:06

4 mins: A couple of key interventions from Balogun early on as he makes a fine challenge on Garnacho inside the Rangers box.

    20:05

2 mins: United are dominating possession early on as Garnacho works space to shoot and warms the palms of ex-Red Devil Butland in the Rangers goal.

Underway in this huge ‘Battle of Britain’ clash at Old Trafford!

Erik Lambrechts of Belgium is tonight’s referee, with Bram van Driessche on VAR duty.

A real big-game feel to this one. Superb noise around the ground.

    19:57

Manchester United fans continue to pay tribute to late club icon Denis Law as the two teams emerge from the Old Trafford tunnel.

A brilliant atmosphere already at the Theatre of Dreams, those 3,500 Rangers fans are making one hell of a racket.

Altay Bayindir out to put more pressure on Andre Onana

    19:50 , George Flood

You also get the sense that Altay Bayindir could really heap pressure on Andre Onana with another strong performance tonight.

Manchester United’s No2 grabbed a rare chance with both hands against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round earlier this month, making several key saves and saving two penalties – one in normal time and the other in the shootout.

With Onana continuing to commit key mistakes, including against Brighton on Sunday, Bayindir would do his chances of regular starts no harm at all with another confident display here.

Toby Collyer poised for first European start for Man Utd

    19:41

A big night in store for Toby Collyer, Manchester United‘s 21-year-old academy graduate who is making his first-ever European start in midfield.

His selection tonight – along with that of Christian Eriksen – with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte both dropping to the bench probably tells you all you need to know about Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford.

Amad Diallo plots downfall of former loan club Rangers

    19:33

Plenty of eyes tonight will be on Amad Diallo, who has been by far the best Manchester United player during Ruben Amorim’s tenure so far.

The Ivorian winger signed a new five-and-a-half year contract at Old Trafford earlier this month and continued his fine form with a stylish home hat-trick against Southampton last week.

Tonight he comes up against the club for whom he only made 13 appearances during a frustrating loan stint back in 2022.

Six Rangers changes as Butland returns in goal

    19:16

Captain James Tavernier, Robin Propper, Jefte, Connor Barron and Nedim Bajrami are the only Rangers players to retain their starting berths following Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing of minnows Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox.

Jack Butland is back in goal, with Tom Lawrence on the bench after injury.

Barron deputises in midfield for the suspended Mohamed Diomande.

Five changes from Man Utd as Bayindir, Collyer and Garnacho all start

    19:09 , George Flood

So that’s five changes from Ruben Amorim to the Manchester United side that started Sunday’s 3-1 home defeat to Brighton, with Altay Bayindir – the hero of the recent FA Cup win at Arsenal – getting another chance to impress in goal in place of the error-prone Andre Onana.

Harry Maguire makes way for Lisandro Martinez in defence, with Noussair Mazraoui also dropping out.

Young Toby Collyer comes in alongside Christian Eriksen to make his first-ever European start in midfield, with that duo replacing Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte.

Alejandro Garnacho also comes into the attack despite today’s latest transfer links to Chelsea.

Antony is on the bench as expected despite that imminent loan move to Real Betis.

Clement calls on Rangers to ‘write history’ at Old Trafford

    18:44 , George Flood

Rangers boss Philippe Clement, meanwhile, says he is not interested in the ongoing “noise” around Manchester United.

The Belgian said he has no interest in “parking the bus” at Old Trafford tonight as he urged his players to “write history”.

Rangers have never beaten or scored a single goal against United in four previous competitive games, having also lost 2-0 in a pre-season friendly at Murrayfield last summer.

Rangers’ last win in Europe over English opposition came with a double over Leeds in 1992.

“I’m not somebody who believes in parking a bus in front of goal and hoping that nothing happens, hoping to come one time on the other side to score a goal,” said Clement.

“So we’ll play to our qualities. Of course, we also need to consider the qualities of Manchester United.

“It’s a really, really big challenge. The spotlight is on the players and it’s a massive opportunity.

“I know my team and my squad will embrace those moments. You dream of being in stadiums like this.”

Maguire: Manchester United must stop gifting the first goal

    18:26 , George Flood

Harry Maguire was also asked if it was helpful to hear Ruben Amorim describe his players as nervous after their sixth home defeat of the season already.

“We spoke about the first goal at Old Trafford. It’s not teams coming to Old Trafford and opening us up and tactically breaking us down,” he said.

“Anyone that was at the game against Brighton – it was a 50/50 game and could have gone either way and we gave them a goal early on which we knew we had to stop. We spoke about it in the pre-match.

“We have to stop giving away the first goal. The first goal against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth were set-plays, the first goal against Southampton was from a set-play.

“These aren’t things that are tactically a problem – these are things that you have to go into a game focused on and mentally ready to win a football match.

“Football matches are sometimes defined on small margins and at the moment we aren’t getting those because we aren’t mentally focused enough to make them go our away.”

Harry Maguire responds to Amorim’s ‘worst team’ criticism

    18:24 , George Flood

And what of the players’ response to that controversial public criticism from their manager?

Harry Maguire was alongside Ruben Amorim conducting yesterday’s pre-match media duties at Carrington.

“As players after the game we were really frustrated and disappointed coming off the back of a good away performance,” he said.

“We were confident and felt we could beat Brighton.

“We have to look at ourselves and take responsibility on ourselves.

“As an individual I go home and think about how I can help this team improve and get back to where we want to get to, which is to challenge a lot higher than we are in the league.

“We have to take responsibility and improve individually, which will help the team improve.”

Ruben Amorim: It’s good to be honest and not ‘delusional’

    18:19 , George Flood

Ruben Amorim was also asked if it was helpful to keep publicly claiming that his players are nervous amid another hugely disappointing run of form…

“If you want I can be delusional and say different things,” he said.

“I say it as I see it. I said it to the players and I said it to you – I think it’s a good thing to be really honest.

“If you want me to say different things, I can start to do that because it is easier for me.

“If you are in the stadium you can feel it but I am not nervous, I am frustrated.”

‘Frustrated’ Amorim accepts ‘worst team ever’ criticism too strong

    18:13 , George Flood

Inevitably, much of the pre-match build-up from a Manchester United perspective has been focused on Ruben Amorim’s headline comments after Sunday’s 3-1 home defeat by Brighton – the Red Devils’ fourth loss in their last five outings at Old Trafford – in which he furiously labelled his team as maybe the worst in the club’s history.

The passionate Portuguese has since sought to play down those words, admitting the criticism of his players was too strong.

“I was talking more for myself than for my players, because you have to find a coach that starts a job and loses (seven) games… it was more for me… I was talking more about me than the players…,” he insisted.

“So I understand I gave you that headline and I’m frustrated sometimes and sometimes I should not say that in those terms.

“But it is what it is and that’s it. Sometimes it’s really hard to hide the frustration in some moments.

“But the good thing is that I said the same things in a different way in the dressing room five minutes before.

“The response was quite normal because I’m really blunt with my players.”

Amorim added: “Sometimes you are a young guy and you do mistakes and then you improve.

“I don’t promise to you I will not do it again, I don’t know, I try to improve.”

Antony involved for Man Utd despite imminent exit

    18:05

Here is Antony – along with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro – arriving at Old Trafford tonight, set to be part of the Manchester United squad before joining LaLiga side Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, such a deal is said to include no option or obligation for a permanent transfer, meaning the much-maligned Brazilian winger will be back at the club in the summer.

    Manchester United vs Rangers prediction

    17:50 , George Flood

Of the two teams, Rangers are in better form results-wise.

They’re unbeaten in seven and this is probably their best chance to claim a result away at Old Trafford.

With that said, the Red Devils have been a different prospect in the Europa League this season and supporters will demand a response after Sunday’s latest home defeat to Brighton.

Expect goals in this one as the hosts edge it.

    Rangers team news

    17:48

Rangers should have first-choice goalkeeper Jack Butland back tonight after receiving hospital treatment for an internal bleed on his thigh that has forced him to miss the last six matches.

Tom Lawrence is also back available after a long spell out, but Philippe Clement’s list of absentees remains lengthy.

Mohamed Diomande is suspended for picking up three yellow cards in Europe this season, while Dujon Sterling, John Souttar, Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Danilo are all injured.

Ianis Hagi, Rabbi Matondo and Clinton Nsiala – as well as Danilo – are ineligible for Europa League action, along with new loan signing from Lille, Rafael Fernandes.

    Manchester United team news

Manchester United are not expecting any of their injured players to return for tonight’s game, so it will be a similar pool available to Ruben Amorim.

Centre-back Victor Lindelof is now back in training having not featured since before Christmas, but he won’t form part of the squad this evening.

No sign of the latest Luke Shaw comeback just yet, while Mason Mount and Jonny Evans also remain sidelined.

Antony is with the United squad tonight with his imminent move to Real Betis not quite completed.

Good evening and welcome to Standard Sport’s live coverage of Manchester United vs Rangers.

It’s another fascinating ‘Battle of Britain’ clash ahead in the Europa League, a little over a month after depleted Tottenham fought to a lively draw at Ibrox.

Philippe Clement’s side are experiencing their own domestic hardships, though both of these clubs are currently well-placed to automatically reach the last 16 of the Europa League – with just one point and place in the top eight separating them at the start of the night.

Kick-off tonight is ay 8pm GMT, so stay tuned for match build-up, team news and live updates.

Beleaguered Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will be hoping for a response from his players as the Red Devils take on Scottish giants Rangers today, in this key UEFA Europa League match.

The hosts come into this Battle-of-Britain clash off the back of a demoralizing 3-1 defeat to Brighton in the English Premier League at the weekend, a result that led to Amorim labeling his team as possibly the worst in the club’s history.

They come up against a Rangers team that are just one point and one place behind their opponents today, with the Glasgow side currently in eighth spot.

Manchester United host Rangers on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Old Trafford. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. GMT local time in the UK, making it a 3 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT kickoff in the US and Canada, and a 7 a.m. AEDT start in Australia on Friday morning.

Below, we’ll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the match as it happens, wherever you are in the world.

Bruno Fernandes’ first-half penalty was Man United’s only shot on target in his side’s 3-1 loss at home to Brighton in the Premier League at the weekend.

How to watch every UEFA Europa League 2024/25 game online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view Europa League matches locally, you may need a different way to watch the games — that’s where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it’s also a great idea if you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you’re able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you’re streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It’s normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you’ll get three months free and save 49%. That’s the equivalent of $6.67 a month with code SPECIALDEAL, which should be automatically applied.

Quick tips for streaming UEFA Europa League matches using a VPN

    • With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — your experience and success when streaming Europa League games may vary.
    • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search for city or country” option.
    • If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try to fix quickly. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
    • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
    • Remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave.

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim talks to TNT. “It’s always good to be back on the field … we’d like to have more practice … that would be important for the games … but this is my job … to try to help my players to win games so I am really happy to have the opportunity … the players know me … it is easier for them to recognise what I am saying than other people … I don’t control what other people think and say … but it was a little bit my fault to create all that … it is in the past … the next game is today … really important … we need to win … time to train and escape the play-offs … and have that feeling of winning at home … it is impossible to be competitive in Premier League and in Europe, especially in Europa League … it is much harder than the Champions League … not the opponents of course but the time to recover … the players have to be prepared for every game … I expect a very tough match … very British with a lot of duels … I want to see improvement … improve with the ball … be more relaxed … I will try to help them outside the pitch a little bit more.”

Manchester United make five changes after the 3-1 home loss in the Premier League to Brighton & Hove Albion. Altay Bayındır, Christian Eriksen, Toby Collyer, Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martínez are in for André Onana, Harry Maguire, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo, all of whom drop to the bench.

Rangers make six changes to the side sent out to beat Fraserburgh 5-0 in the Scottish Cup at the weekend. Jack Butland, Leon Balogun, Nicolas Raskin, Rıdvan Yılmaz, Václav Černý and Hamza Igamane come in for Mason Munn, Clinton Nsiala, Mohamed Diomande, Ross McCausland, Zak Lovelace and Cyriel Dessers.

    Preamble

It’s the worst Manchester United team in history, some say. Ruben Amorim shouldn’t worry too much about that, however, because it’s not as though the current Rangers team is of classic vintage either. Both sides are in decent form in the Europa League, mind. It’s eighth versus ninth, with United unbeaten and Rangers coming off the back of a 4-1 win in Nice and an Ibrox draw with Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off is at 8pm GMT. In the meantime, Amorim will be giving his players the usual pre-match pep-talk, issuing beneficial advice with the help of visual aids such as chalkboard, tactics table, and … oh yes, he’ll need one of those as well, won’t he. We recommend these guys. Great service, great sets, and their parent company has great brand recognition in the Manchester area.

Manchester United and Rangers are set to face off in a highly anticipated Europa League match today. Both teams will be looking to secure a victory and advance to the next round of the competition.

Manchester United, led by manager Ralf Rangnick, will be looking to continue their strong form and build on their recent successes. With a talented squad including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, and Jadon Sancho, they will be a formidable opponent for Rangers.

On the other hand, Rangers, managed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, will be looking to pull off an upset and secure a win against Manchester United. With players such as Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, and Steven Davis in their lineup, they have the potential to cause problems for the Red Devils.

Fans can expect an exciting and intense match as these two teams battle it out on the pitch. Stay tuned for live updates and commentary on this Europa League clash between Manchester United and Rangers. Who do you think will come out on top? Share your predictions in the comments below!

That came two months after the Scottish side had held United to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture, to this day the only time Rangers have avoided defeat against United in a competitive fixture.

Today, they meet in that lesser competition.

  • American Airlines Must Take The Stage After Delta And United Shine

The pressure is on American Airlines to issue strong results and a strong outlook on Thursday, especially after United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby proclaimed Wednesday that “We are the best airline in the history of aviation.”

Kirby spoke on United’s January earnings call after the carrier beat analyst expectations for the first quarter and projected strong growth. CFO Mike Leskinen noted that United was the fourth best performing stock in the 2024 S&P 500, with shares up 135%.

So far in 2025, United and Delta shares have outperformed American’s: Curiously, the best performer among the airlines has been Frontier. Year-to-date, through midday Wednesday, Frontier shares were up about 18%, Delta and United are up about 15% and American is up about 9%.

An industry theme for the past few years has been that United is challenging Delta to be recognized as the best carrier, a judgement that has been based on the ability to attract premium customers as well as margin performance. (All of the big three carriers say that their on-time performance is best.)

On the United call, executives continued to recognize that they still need to close the margin gap with Delta.

In the fourth quarter, United reported 9.7% adjusted pre-tax margin, while Delta reported 10.8%. For the full year, United adjusted pre-tax margin was 8.1%, while Delta reported 9.1%. In the third quarter, American reported an adjusted pre-tax margin of 2.%.

On Thursday, “We’re going to see whether Robert Isom is strong enough to stay on his feet after getting knocked down last year,” said Dennis Tajer, spokesman for the Allied Pilots Association.

“There’s a revenue generation issue and that needs quick repair to catch up to Delta and United margins,” Tajer said.

As for American stock, Stephanie Link, chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, called American “the beaten down guy” in a recent interview.

At the time, Link noted that United traded at 9.8 times earnings, Delta at 11.4 times earnings and American at 13 times earnings. “It’s not that I don’t like it,” she said. “But it’s not a really attractive story: Delta is quality and, in a more defensive environment, you want the best in breed. And if United comes down, we can go back in there.”

Link said she would be a buyer “if I wanted to own the beaten down guy.”

As is their practice, United executives made oblique references to American throughout the call.

Kirby referred to carriers who “chase load factor.” He did not name any carriers, but he did say that “All capacity is not created equal” and that United and Delta “tend to add service and route frequency that’s good for customers. We don’t chase it.”

Later Kirby referred to “every airline that has low margins, that doesn’t look like Delta and United” and “has unprofitable capacity.” He also said that all seven United hubs are profitable: can American say the same of its hubs on Thursday?

Meanwhile, Andrew Nocella, United chief commercial officer, spoke to an American strength when he said that United wants to improve connectivity in its hubs. “We’re really focused on building connectivity, particularly in Chicago, Houston and Denver,” he said. “We’re going to be able to close that gap in 2025.”

A recent report by OAG ranks airports by combining two components: the number of available connections and the number of destinations. According to the report, the top five U.S. airports for connectivity are Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte and Denver. In Atlanta, Delta dominates with 75% of flights, while in Dallas and Charlotte, American has 85% and 87% respectively. But United has just 49% of flights in Chicago and 50% in Denver, OAG said.

American Airlines has found itself in the shadows of its competitors Delta and United, who have recently been making headlines with their innovative initiatives and customer-focused strategies. It’s time for American Airlines to step up and take the stage, showing the world what they’re made of.

Delta has been praised for its exceptional customer service and commitment to sustainability, while United has been making waves with its focus on diversity and inclusion. American Airlines must now follow suit and demonstrate its own dedication to providing top-notch service and embracing forward-thinking practices.

One area where American Airlines can distinguish itself is in its approach to sustainability. By investing in eco-friendly practices and reducing its carbon footprint, the airline can show its commitment to protecting the environment and being a responsible corporate citizen.

Additionally, American Airlines should prioritize customer satisfaction by offering personalized experiences and top-notch amenities. By listening to customer feedback and making improvements based on their needs and preferences, the airline can set itself apart from the competition and cultivate a loyal customer base.

It’s time for American Airlines to shine and show the world what it’s capable of. By taking inspiration from Delta and United and implementing its own innovative strategies, the airline can rise to the top and solidify its position as a leader in the industry. The stage is set – now it’s time for American Airlines to take center stage.
