  • QB Shedeur Sanders unsure if he will throw at NFL combine

FRISCO, Texas — Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders said Saturday he is unsure if he will throw at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis next month.

Sanders is attending the East-West Shrine Bowl but will not participate in practice or in the game Thursday. He was at the West team’s first practice at the University of North Texas on Saturday morning but stood on the field, watching the other prospects.

While Sanders won’t conduct any on-field work at the Shrine Bowl, he reiterated his belief that he’s worthy of being the top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He has been training in the Dallas area with former Miami‘s Cam Ward, another top quarterback prospect in this year’s draft.

“We changed the program at Jackson [State University],” Sanders said. “We went to Colorado, changed the program. And we did everything people didn’t think we were able to do. So, that’s why I know I’m the most guaranteed risk you can take.”

Sanders met with multiple teams Friday, including the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, who hold the first three picks in the draft, respectively. The Titans met with Sanders for 45 minutes.

“I like that I’m able to get in the forefront of everything and they’re able to understand me and ask me whatever questions they want,” Sanders said. “I’m not ducking. I ain’t hiding. I’m right here, live in the flesh and able to answer whatever questions are out there.”

While Sanders is confident in his worthiness as the first overall pick, he said he would be “thankful for whatever situation and whoever drafts me. I know I’ll be able to change their program.”

Asked what he will bring to a team, Sanders smiled and said, “A lot of wins.”

Shedeur’s older brother Shilo, a safety, is also in Texas for the game. Colorado is also represented by wide receivers Will Sheppard, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr. and cornerback Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig.

ESPN’s Turron Davenport contributed to this report.

Shedeur Sanders, the highly-touted quarterback prospect and son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, is facing a tough decision ahead of the NFL combine. The talented signal-caller has been turning heads with his impressive performances on the field, but he is unsure if he will throw at the upcoming combine.

Sanders has been training hard in preparation for the combine, but he is reportedly dealing with a minor injury that could affect his ability to showcase his throwing skills. While some scouts believe that Sanders should rest and recover in order to perform at his best in front of NFL teams, others feel that he should push through and compete at the combine.

Regardless of his decision, Sanders remains a top prospect in this year’s draft class and is expected to draw significant interest from NFL teams. Stay tuned for updates on whether Sanders will ultimately decide to throw at the combine and how it may impact his draft stock.

  • Vinicius Junior unsure of Real Madrid future as Saudi Arabia prepare eye-watering contract offer

Vinicius Junior unsure of Real Madrid future as Saudi Arabia prepare eye-watering contract offer

Vinicius Junior unsure of Real Madrid future as Saudi Arabia prepare eye-watering contract offer

One of the biggest transfer stories of 2025 could involve Vinicius Junior, although Real Madrid will be hoping that this isn’t the case. The Brazilian superstar has been the subject of strong transfer speculation in recent months, with Saudi Arabia preparing to make a world-record offer in order to bring in to the Middle East.

Earlier this week, Vinicius publicly committed his future to Real Madrid, although there is less certainly about the situation from behind the scenes. According to Relevo, the 24-year-old’s intentions are not known by anyone at the club, and even within his entourage too.

It was reported during the summer that Vinicius has been tempted by the eye-watering offer that Saudi Arabia has put on the table. It’s been reported that they will offer him a contract worth €1m per week, making him one of the highest paid players in world football – alongside his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Saudi Arabia has been in regular contact with Vinicius’ representatives, and they are believed to be confident of convincing him to make the bold move in the summer. However, Real Madrid equally believe that there is very little chance that their star player moves on from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite this, contract talks are planned between the two parties, as Real Madrid aim to end the matter once and for all. As per the report, these will take place over the coming months, with a view to an agreement being reached by the summer. Vinicius is open to signing a new deal, although in order to do so, he wants to become the club’s highest-paid player.

It will be very interesting to follow Vinicius’ case from now until the summer. They are very confident that there will be no move away in the summer (or for many, many years), but there is definitely some uncertainty about the situation, and this will surely mean that nervousness creeps in.

Vinicius Junior, the young Brazilian starlet currently playing for Real Madrid, is reportedly unsure of his future with the Spanish giants as Saudi Arabia prepares to make him an eye-watering contract offer.

The 21-year-old winger has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining the club in 2018, but has recently found himself in and out of the starting lineup under manager Carlo Ancelotti. This has led to speculation about his future at the club, with several top clubs around Europe reportedly interested in signing him.

However, the latest twist in the saga comes from Saudi Arabia, who are said to be preparing a massive contract offer to lure Vinicius away from Real Madrid. The offer is rumored to be worth a staggering amount, which could make it very tempting for the young Brazilian to consider a move to the Middle East.

It remains to be seen whether Vinicius will ultimately decide to stay at Real Madrid or if he will be swayed by the lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia. Either way, it seems that his future at the club is far from certain, and fans will be eagerly watching to see how this situation unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Cooper Kupp plans to play next season, unsure of Rams future

LOS ANGELES — Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp said Monday there is “no doubt” in his mind that he wants to play football next season and that while he “would love to be in L.A.,” he has no control over what will happen this offseason.

“I feel like I’ve got a lot of good football left in me,” Kupp said in the Rams’ final open locker room session of the season. “I’ll be playing football next year. That much I know.”

Kupp acknowledged the rumors that circulated at the trade deadline, which he also addressed during the season.

“Who knows what’s going to happen,” Kupp said. “That’s out of my control. And we will see what it’s going to be. … I don’t have any clarity on what that’s going to look like or anything like that. So yeah, obviously would love to be in L.A., but I don’t know what that’s going to look like.”

Kupp has two years left on the contract extension he signed in 2022, with $5 million guaranteed in 2025. If the Rams cut Kupp this offseason, they will save $15 million in cash and $7.52 million against the salary cap. If the Rams release him without a post-June 1 designation, they will absorb $22.2 million in dead money due to the remaining prorated portions of his signing bonus and $5 million of his roster bonus.

Kupp’s best season came in 2021, when he finished the regular season with the receiving triple crown and was named Super Bowl LVI MVP.

This season, Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 regular-season games. He missed four games after injuring his ankle in Week 2 and sat out the regular-season finale after the Rams had clinched the NFC West.

The receiver said the season was “frustrating” at times, on a personal level and with the ups and downs the offense had as a whole. While the Rams won 10 of their last 14 games after a 1-4 start, the offense struggled to find consistency.

“There’s all these things you’re weathering through offensively, things that I feel like, man, we should be better than the product we’re putting out there in terms of the production and the points that are being scored,” Kupp said. “And then just for me personally feeling like, man, there’s things, I’m watching film, feeling good about football and playing, but productionwise it’s not showing up. And a lot of stuff’s outside of my control. And it is frustrating.”

Kupp had five catches for 61 yards in the Rams’ season-ending loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Prior to that game, he had just 10 targets, 5 receptions, 82 receiving yards and no touchdowns in his previous five games, according to ESPN Research. He had five or more targets in each of first nine games of season, when he had 63 catches for 657 yards and six touchdowns.

“Obviously I want to be able to feel like I’m impacting games, and that’s done on a much more discreet level, I feel like, for a lot of these games,” Kupp said. “And that is what it is, but I can look back on the season and be happy with what I put on tape and things that I was being asked to do, feel like I was executing my job. And that’s all you can do.”

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has announced that he plans to play next season, but he is unsure of his future with the team. Kupp, who is set to become a free agent in the offseason, has been a key player for the Rams and a favorite target of quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Despite his uncertain future with the team, Kupp remains focused on finishing out the season strong and helping the Rams make a playoff push. He is currently leading the NFL in receiving yards and touchdowns, making him a valuable asset for any team in need of a top-tier wide receiver.

While Kupp’s future with the Rams remains uncertain, fans can expect him to give his all on the field and continue to be a reliable playmaker for the team. Stay tuned for more updates on Kupp’s future as the offseason approaches.

  • Jimmy Butler to return vs. Pelicans, unsure of Heat future

Jimmy Butler to return vs. Pelicans, unsure of Heat future

MIAMI — Jimmy Butler plans to play for the Heat on Wednesday. After that, who knows?

The good news for the Heat: Butler declared himself healthy again after what he described as a fairly severe illness for more than a week and said he will return to the lineup when Miami hosts New Orleans on New Year’s night.

The perhaps not-so-good news: When asked Tuesday if he wants to be in Miami, amid now a couple weeks and counting of trade speculation, Butler was noncommittal.

“It’s a good question. Who knows? I don’t,” Butler said. “But right now, I’m here. So, I’m going to make the most of it. I am going to compete, and I am going to win. And that’s all that I’ve got. It’s a lot of talk. And it is a lot of noise, which I’m cool with. It doesn’t bother me at all. I love that. I thrive in that. But it keeps all y’all wondering. It does. It keeps the world wondering, to where you’ve got to keep coming back and asking me about something. I like it. It’s good to be talked about. Even better to be wanted, though. Remember that.”

His return to practice was the latest development in a saga that has gone on for months — Butler could have gotten an extension from Miami this summer for as much as $113 million over two years but did not — and began picking up steam again three weeks ago when ESPN reported that the Heat are open to receiving trade offers.

Then on Christmas, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania that Butler prefers a trade before the Feb. 6 deadline and has a list of preferred destinations that include Golden State, Houston, Phoenix and Dallas.

Butler on Tuesday did not confirm that he has such a list.

“Does it matter? Does it? I don’t think so,” Butler said. “All of that is out of my control, anyway. Like I said, I’m here. I’m hooping.”

Butler, who has led the Heat to the NBA Finals twice in his six seasons in Miami, is averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 20 games this season. The Heat are 11-9 when he plays, 5-5 when he doesn’t.

Heat president Pat Riley responded to the trade talk last week, breaking from team policy by addressing speculation and making clear that the team has no plans to move Butler — even though he could leave as a free agent this coming summer. Butler has a $52 million player option for next season as well.

“We usually don’t comment on rumors, but all this speculation has become a distraction to the team and is not fair to the players and coaches,” Riley said in a news release distributed by the team. “Therefore, we will make it clear — we are not trading Jimmy Butler.”

Riley said when last season ended that he wants to see the team’s best players, obviously including Butler, play more often. Butler said Tuesday that he has tried to play in as many games as possible, citing that as the reason he attempted to go against Oklahoma City on Dec. 20 — a game where he turned his ankle but left because of the illness that he battled for several days afterward.

“I was pretty messed up,” Butler said. “But I wanted to compete because I actually do want to play as many games as possible. I’m not even messing around. I came out and I felt sluggish, and I tweaked the ankle but that’s not what it was. I was damn near starving, getting ready to throw up and all that stuff.”

Butler has not asked the Heat for a trade, and even he doesn’t seem to know how the next few weeks or months will play out.

“That’s up to Pat and them. They’re going to do what’s best for the organization, as they should,” Butler said. “As long as I’m happy, and right now I’m happy, I’m in a good space. I will tell you that. I’ve got my kids here, I’m healthy, I’m smiling. I promise you, I’m happy.”

The Miami Heat are set to welcome back star player Jimmy Butler for their matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, but questions loom about his future with the team.

Butler, who has been dealing with various injuries throughout the season, is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the Heat as they continue to fight for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. His return comes at a critical time for Miami, as they look to make a push in the final stretch of the regular season.

However, despite his return to the lineup, rumors have been swirling about Butler’s future with the Heat. There have been reports of tension between Butler and the team’s management, leading to speculation that he could potentially be on the move in the offseason.

As Butler takes the court against the Pelicans, all eyes will be on him as fans and analysts alike wonder what lies ahead for the talented forward. Will he be able to lead the Heat to success in the playoffs, or will his time in Miami come to an end sooner than expected?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain: Jimmy Butler’s return to the court is sure to bring excitement and intrigue to Heat fans everywhere.

  • Quinshon Judkins unsure of 2025 return to Ohio State as Buckeyes prep for CFP quarterfinal against Oregon

Quinshon Judkins unsure of 2025 return to Ohio State as Buckeyes prep for CFP quarterfinal against Oregon

Quinshon Judkins is the No. 2 running back on CBS Sports’ NFL Draft big board, but the Buckeyes junior hasn’t ruled out a return to Columbus in 2025. Judkins leads Ohio State with 157 carries for 839 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns and is poised for a big workload in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal against Oregon on New Year’s Day.

“No,” Judkins told reporters Saturday when asked if he’s given thought to his future at Ohio State. “As of right now, I’m just looking forward to this next game and trying to win it all.”

Judkins carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for nine yards in Ohio State’s 42-17 win over Tennessee in the first round of the CFP. The Ole Miss transfer rushed 11 teams for a season-low 23 yards and one score in the Week 7 loss at Oregon.

“When you look at the past game that we played against Oregon, and you watch the film over their last couple of games, you’re looking to see how they improved,” Judkins said. “What did they really change about their defense? It looks similar to the first time we played them. So, we just got to go and execute. Our coaches will find ways to get all the playmakers the ball and get us in the best position to score.”

Ohio State added former West Virginia running back CJ Donaldson in the transfer portal during the winter window. He’s expected to split carries with second-year back James Peoples in 2025 if Judkins opts to leave school for the NFL Draft. Senior TreVeyon Henderson is out of eligibility after the Buckeyes’ CFP run.

Donaldson ranks as the No. 6 running back and No. 106 overall player in the transfer portal after a three-year stint at West Virginia. The 6-foot-2, 238-pounder carried the ball 163 times for 734 yards and a team-high 11 touchdowns in 13 games as a junior in 2024. He caught 14 balls for 104 yards and another score en route to All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.

Ohio State added three running backs in its 2025 recruiting class, including four-star prospect Bo Jackson. The Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela-St. Joseph product rated as the No. 136 overall prospect and No. 5 running back in his class following a prolific prep career. Jackson rushed for 588 yards and 10 touchdowns in four games as a senior and finished his junior campaign in 2023 with 1,700 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.

RELATED (VIP): Two of the top defensive prospects in the South were very impressed with Ohio State dominating Tennessee

“Bo Jackson is a big downhill runner,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins said. “He looks like he’s pushing 220 pounds as a senior. It is easy for running backs to play early in their careers. I love what Bo Jackson is able to do in terms of breaking contact. He can provide that downhill force for the Buckeyes as a rookie.”

As the Ohio State Buckeyes gear up for their College Football Playoff quarterfinal showdown against Oregon, one key player’s future with the team remains uncertain. Star running back Quinshon Judkins, who has been a key contributor to the Buckeyes’ success this season, is reportedly unsure if he will return to Ohio State for the 2025 season.

Judkins, a dynamic playmaker with a unique combination of speed and power, has been a key factor in the Buckeyes’ high-powered offense this season. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns, helping lead Ohio State to an impressive 11-1 record and a spot in the CFP.

However, rumors have been swirling that Judkins is considering declaring for the NFL Draft after this season, despite having one more year of eligibility remaining. The talented running back has been projected as a potential early-round pick, and the lure of playing at the next level may be too enticing to pass up.

As the Buckeyes prepare to face off against Oregon in the CFP quarterfinal, Judkins’ future with the team remains a hot topic of conversation among fans and analysts alike. Will he choose to return to Ohio State for another season, or will he take his talents to the NFL? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – Judkins’ decision will have a major impact on the Buckeyes’ future success.

  • Puka Nacua unsure if Travis Hunter can be two-way player

Puka Nacua unsure if Travis Hunter can be two-way player

Travis Hunter is most likely going to be a star in the NFL after putting together a remarkable and historic career in college. The Heisman Trophy winner will be a top pick in the upcoming draft, whether he’s viewed as a cornerback or receiver at the next level.

He was a two-way player at Colorado and was outstanding on both sides of the ball, but Puka Nacua isn’t sure he’ll be able to sustain that workload in the pros. He says it “definitely would be a challenge,” but Nacua says Hunter has a “great skill set” and is excited to see him take his talents to the NFL.

The Rams won’t be in position to draft Hunter so we unfortunately won’t see him paired with Nacua at wide receiver or Cobie Durant in the secondary, but he’s going to be a must-see player no matter where he’s selected.

Hunter is a generational talent who could excel at two different positions, making him unlike any other player in the draft.

Puka Nacua, the star wide receiver for the University of Washington Huskies, is unsure if highly-touted recruit Travis Hunter can successfully transition to a two-way player in college football.

Hunter, a five-star cornerback and wide receiver from Florida, has garnered attention for his exceptional skills on both sides of the ball. However, Nacua believes that playing both offense and defense at the collegiate level can be a challenging task.

In an interview, Nacua expressed his doubts about Hunter’s ability to excel on both offense and defense, citing the physical demands and mental focus required to play two positions effectively. He emphasized the importance of specialization in college football and the need for players to focus on honing their skills in one specific area.

While Nacua acknowledges Hunter’s talent and potential, he remains skeptical about his ability to excel as a two-way player. Only time will tell if Hunter can prove his doubters wrong and make a successful transition to playing on both sides of the ball at the collegiate level.
