  • SEC Basketball Standings Update – A Sea Of Blue

    Greetings, BBN!

Arkansas is no longer winless in the Southeastern Conference. The Razorbacks somehow came back from 14-down in the second half to get it all tied up in the final seconds, drive and get fouled, and knock down a free throw and a layup to triumph 68-65 over the Georgia Bulldogs in Bud Walton Arena. It wasn’t pretty, and it wasn’t dominant top-25 basketball, but it was a win, and perhaps it will provide enough of a spark to get them back toward their preseason expectations.

Here are your SEC standings as of January 24th:

    SEC Basketball Standings

    Notes:

    • Texas picked up a much-needed win at home Tuesday against Missouri for just their second SEC win, and first not against their former Big 12 neighbor Oklahoma.
    • Arkansas absolutely must follow up their victory over Georgia with another home win over Oklahoma, because after that it’s at Kentucky, at Texas, and hosting Alabama.
    • Georgia will the loss to Arkansas drops to 2-4 in the league, but both their victories were against ranked opponents. There will probably be at least one SEC team that gets in the tournament with a conference record of like 7-11 or something. Or even 6-12!
    • Florida barely escaped South Carolina on Wednesday to improve to 4-2 in the league and 17-2 overall. Down 68-69 Will Richard hit a driving layup to deny the Gamecocks their first SEC win.
    • Biggest game this weekend: Tennessee at Auburn.

SEC Basketball Standings Update – A Sea Of Blue

As we head into the heart of conference play, the SEC basketball standings are starting to take shape. And for many teams, it’s a sea of blue at the top.

The Kentucky Wildcats are currently leading the pack with an impressive record, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the court. With a talented roster led by star players like Tyrese Maxey and Ashton Hagans, the Wildcats are poised to make a deep run in the SEC tournament and beyond.

Following closely behind are the Auburn Tigers and the Florida Gators, both of whom have been putting together strong performances in conference play. The Tigers, led by standout guard Samir Doughty, are known for their high-octane offense and stifling defense. The Gators, on the other hand, have been relying on their balanced scoring attack and strong team chemistry to rack up wins.

But the SEC is a tough conference, and there are plenty of other teams in the mix as well. The LSU Tigers, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are all lurking just behind the top teams, ready to make a push for the title.

With several weeks left in the regular season, anything can happen in the SEC standings. But one thing is for sure – it’s going to be a thrilling race to the finish line. Stay tuned for more updates as the action heats up in SEC basketball.

  • Indi Hartwell Provides Update On Her Future, IShowSpeed To Be At Royal Rumble 2025, Dominik Mysterio Talks Morale

IShowSpeed has announced that he’ll be attending the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event and will be live streaming the show.

Speaking to WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H on a recent livestream, “The Game” invited IShowSpeed to the event.

You can check out a video of the interaction below:

Dominik Mysterio says the locker room morale following the debut episode of WWE Monday Night RAW on Netflix is high these days.

During a recent appearance on “The Babyfaces Podcast,” Dominik was asked about the morale of the WWE roster. He said,

“Morale is high. We’re all super excited to to be able to just be on Netflix, because a lot of a lot of us have families. I have family in Mexico. Judgment Day has family in Ireland and stuff because of Finn and JD. So, our families struggled to to be able to see us because if they don’t have USA, they have to watch it on for us, it’s, like, Fox Sports or for that I don’t know what they have to watch it on in Ireland but it’s always different channels here and there. So the fact that you can just tune in whether it’s 8 PM or 5 PM West coast, East coast time, as long as you figure it out overseas and you have Netflix, you can watch it. So the fact that you can watch it all around the world at any point in time, even if you missed an episode last week, you can just go on there and click it and they have it all there. So that’s huge for us, we’re in over a hundred something million homes, right? So that’s insane. That’s a whole different viewership for us. We’re used to just people tuning in on USA and seeing Monday Night Raw. But now it’s like whoever clicks on Netflix, you’re going to see, whether it’s Cody Rhodes or Bianca or Roman, Liv, myself, like you’re going to see wrestling on there. It’s really cool to see because it’s going to catch your attention and people are going to click on to see Monday Night Raw.”

Back on November 1, 2024, Indi Hartwell was released from WWE and was put under the standard 90-day no-compete clause.

In a new video that was posted on her YouTube channel, Hartwell revealed that she thought her time in wrestling might have come to an end following her departure. She went on to say that she knows she’s still young and believes she has a lot more to give. She stated,

“With each passing day, it is getting closer to my date of free agency, which is exciting but also scary, because I don’t know what the future holds. I have been getting a lot of tweets, comments, and people in real life asking me if I’m going to continue wrestling, and it was something that I really had to think about when I got released. But come on, I’m only 28. I’m only 28, I have got so much wrestling left in me, and that’s why I’m signing these photos.”

  • Sky Sports Reporter Shares Exciting Newcastle Transfer Update on £60m Star

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is not looking to leave the club in January and is ‘absolutely loving’ life at St James’ Park, Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

Despite recent stories linking the Swedish international with a blockbuster winter move to Arsenal, Isak appears to have no plans to depart mid-season and remains focused on finishing the campaign with the Magpies.

According to Bridge, there seems to be ‘absolutely nothing’ in Isak’s links to other Premier League clubs, with Newcastle personnel confident the 25-year-old will stay for the remainder of the season.

Isak has been producing career-best numbers in the Premier League this term, scoring 15 goals in 20 top-flight appearances.

    Isak’s Newcastle Departure Ruled Out

Amid ‘interest’ from Premier League clubs

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak celebrates

Bridge, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, dismissed speculation linking Isak with a January move elsewhere:

“In terms of Isak, it’s just an example of just how incredible they’ve done in the market, you know, Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali.

“And the message I get from people at Newcastle is that Isak’s going nowhere, and he’s absolutely loving it there.

“He seems to be linked with every huge club at the moment, but there seems to be absolutely nothing on that.”

Isak has been on an impressive run of form lately, netting 11 goals in his last nine appearances, helping Newcastle win six of those matches and climb to fourth in the table.

The 25-year-old ranks third among Premier League top scorers this term, trailing only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.

Since moving from Real Sociedad in a £63m transfer in 2022, Isak has scored 52 goals in 91 games and was linked with signing a new long-term contract last year.

Newcastle have yet to make any new signings in the January window but are reportedly monitoring the winger market as they look to replace Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguayan winger is now a subject of interest for MLS side Atlanta United, where he spent two seasons before joining the Magpies in 2019.

  • Martin Odegaard injury update: Arsenal captain missing against Wolves

Arsenal are without captain Martin Odegaard, as their captain was not in their squad for the trip to Wolves on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta has had so many injury problems to contend with and Odegaard being out is obviously a blow as he’s their driving force and creative hub from midfield.

Odegaard joins Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines, while French center back William Saliba was fit enough to return to the Arsenal starting lineup on Saturday.

    Martin Odegaard injury update

Arsenal released their team news for the game at Wolves and simply stated “Odegaard and Merino miss out” with Gunners fans eager to find out why.

Odegaard, 26, is the heartbeat of this Arsenal side and whenever he’s been missing this season they haven’t clicked and looked like the same team.

Unfortunately, Arsenal fans will have to wait a little longer to see Martin Odegaard back in action as the talented midfielder will be missing in the upcoming match against Wolves due to injury. Odegaard, who has been a key player for Arsenal this season, sustained a knock in training and will be undergoing further assessment to determine the extent of his injury.

It’s a blow for Arsenal as they look to secure a vital win against Wolves, but the team will have to do without their captain for this crucial match. Odegaard’s absence will undoubtedly be felt, but the Gunners will have to rally together and put in a strong performance to secure the three points.

Fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Odegaard so that he can return to action soon and continue to make a valuable contribution to the team. In the meantime, Arsenal will have to make do without their influential midfielder and find a way to overcome the challenge posed by Wolves without him. Stay tuned for further updates on Odegaard’s injury and his expected return to action.

Given Dejounte Murray is probable on the injury report, the assumption is he will be suiting up against the Grizzlies on Friday night. The same would apply to Yves Missi, both players have played a significant role in helping the Pelicans turn things around throughout the month of January.

Related New Orleans Pelicans NewsArticle continues below

After heading into January with a measly five wins to their name, the Pelicans have gone 7-4 throughout the month and have picked up four wins in a row. This surge has been helped along by Murray who has been a dependable scoring option for the team.

Murray has become a bright spot for the Pelicans in a season that has left a lot to be desired. He recently scored a season-high 30 points in a win over the Dallas Mavericks. Murray is averaging 17.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game while shooting 38.4% from the field. He has had his share of time on the injury report this season.

Murray did play in both of the Pelicans’ previous matchups against the Grizzlies this season. After Friday night’s contest, there is one more matchup between the Grizzlies and Pelicans on the schedule. It is set to take place in New Orleans on March 9.

So, when it comes to the question of if Dejounte Murray is playing tonight vs. the Grizzlies, the answer is probably.

  • Hulk Hogan vs. Jesse Ventura: Is a showdown coming at Saturday Night’s Main Event? (UPDATE)

UPDATE: It appears that a potential face-off between Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura will have to wait for another day. Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda is reporting that Hogan will not be appearing at Satuday Night’s Main Event. Said Featherstone on X, “I’ve been informed that Hulk Hogan will not be appearing on #SNME due to family commitments.”

The original story appears below, which highlights the issues between Hogan and Ventura.

CM Punk is prepared to win the Royal Rumble and says no one can stop him, not even a certain WWE Hall of Famer, brother.

“You put Hulk Hogan in the Royal Rumble, I’ll throw his dusty ass over the top rope, and I’ll kill Hulkamania once and for all,” said Punk this past Monday on Raw.

Hogan’s chances of appearing in the Rumble are slim, but if he crosses paths with an old rival this weekend, there may be nothing left of the Hulkster for Punk.

Jesse Ventura announced on X that he is returning to Saturday Night’s Main Event. Said Ventura, “So very excited for Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend in San Antonio. The Body returns to Texas this Saturday Night!”

Earlier this month, there was a report stating Hogan was expected to appear on the Saturday night special after missing its return to television last month. While WWE hasn’t made an official announcement, Hogan has been prominently featured in the show’s advertising.

Speaking on the possibility of Hogan and Ventura appearing on the same show, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio, “All I know is the last I heard, which was the day of San Jose, was (Ventura) was on. He was told he’s on all the shows in 2025. So if he’s off, it’s a detail within the last week and a half. They didn’t push him, but he was told he’s on every show. It was definitely pointed out to me that him and Hogan are going to be on the same show.”

Hogan and Ventura were once friends. However, their relationship soured when Ventura, suing WWE owner Vince McMahon for unpaid royalties, discovered that Hogan had informed McMahon about Ventura’s attempt to unionize wrestling. During a deposition, Ventura’s attorney asked McMahon how he learned about Ventura’s plan.

“With no hesitation, Vince went Hulk Hogan, ‘Told me.’ And I didn’t show any emotion, but I almost tipped over in the chair because he was my friend,” said Ventura in a 2015 interview with Graham Bensinger.

The last time Hogan and Ventura worked together was briefly in 1994 when Hogan debuted in WCW. Ventura’s attitude changed upon Hogan’s arrival, according to Eric Bischoff, who was running WCW at the time. That, among other issues, led to Ventura’s separation from the company.

“I got along fine with Jesse until Hogan came in,” said Bischoff. ”Once we brought Hogan in and we made that commitment, there was just negativity or resentment or something that made him miserable to be around.”

It will be interesting to see what stories come out this weekend should Hogan and Ventura cross paths. Something else to watch for is how the crowd reacts to both men. In the 1980s, fans cheered a babyface Hogan and booed the villainous Ventura. However, times have changed, with Hogan recently getting booed out of the building during Raw’s Netflix debut.

What do you think will happen if Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura come face-to-face, Cagesiders? What would you like to see go down? Sound off in the comments section.

UPDATE: It looks like a showdown between Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura may be imminent at Saturday Night’s Main Event! The two wrestling legends have been exchanging heated words on social media, with Ventura challenging Hogan to a match to settle their long-standing rivalry once and for all.

Fans are buzzing with excitement at the prospect of seeing these two icons face off in the ring, and many are already speculating about who will come out on top in what is sure to be an epic battle.

Stay tuned for more updates as this rivalry continues to heat up, and don’t miss Saturday Night’s Main Event for what could be the match of the century!
