For its 30th anniversary, Vans Warped Tour is making its grand return with three two-day festivals showcasing 70 to 100 bands including performers from years’ past and a diverse lineup of new acts.
Among the first group of announced artists include Simple Plan, Bowling for Soup, Dance Hall Crashers, Miss May I, Chandler Leighton and Pennywise. Organizers plan to roll out the lineup for each date with “30 Days of Warped,” beginning with today’s slated groups and new acts revealed over the next 30 consecutive days until Feb. 26.
The three announced dates thus far include Washington, D.C. (June 14-15) at the Festival Grounds at RFK Campus; Long Beach, CA (July 26-27) at Downtown Long Beach Shoreline Waterfront; and Orlando, FL (Nov. 15-16) at Camping World Stadium Campus. Tickets are available at Vans Warped Tour’s site, and the event is in partnership with Insomniac.
Kevin Lyman founded Warped Tour in 1995, and over the years has spotlighted acts including Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy and many others. “Putting together a lineup is never an easy task, but each act, both new and returning, plays an important role in delivering an unforgettable experience for fans, especially at the price point we’re offering,” said Lyman in a statement to Variety. “We collaborated closely with the bands to create some exciting surprises, exclusive content, and more for fans to enjoy. So follow along, soak in the journey, and who knows—you might just discover your next favorite band!”
Fans who have been to previous iterations of Warped Tour may recall sets from Simple Plan, who are returning to the lineup after playing more than 10 years of the festival. The group, consisting of Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre, will perform at the Washington, D.C. dates, explaining that it’s a full circle moment to return to Warped Tour.
“When we started hearing rumors that Warped Tour might be coming back in 2025, we were so excited!” said Comeau. “Warped has been a huge part of our journey as a band – from playing the smallest side-stage back in 2001 to the multiple cross-country treks over the years, the Warped Rewind at Sea cruise, Warped Australia and the final run in 2018, Warped has always felt like home. We’re thrilled that so many pop-punk fans will get a chance to relive their best teenage summer memories one more time and that an entire new generation will get to experience what our scene is all about. Getting the chance to be a part of such an iconic festival once again is a privilege and we can’t wait to get our old Dickies shorts back on and rock Washington DC this summer!”
Bowling for Soup, which has played Warped Tour nine times, will perform at the D.C. and Long Beach dates. To coincide with the return of Warped, the group is releasing a cover of Blink-182’s “The Rock Show.” “All of a sudden we find out that Warped Tour is back in 2025 and that we are playing…the absolute first thing that popped into my head was the lyric, ‘I ‘couldn’t wait for the summer and the Warped Tour,’” explained band lead vocalist/guitarist Jaret Reddick on the inspiration behind the cover.
Nearly 30 years after its sole Warped appearance, Dance Hall Crashers will perform in D.C. and Long Beach, marking their first reunion in two decades. “Kevin Lyman is likely the only person in the world who could have convinced us to reunite the band after 20 years,” says the group’s co-lead vocalist Elyse Rogers. “Being at the Warped Tour, surrounded by so many old friends from so many bands, feels like a punk rock high school reunion.”
Miss May I, Chandler Leighton and Pennywise are slated to perform at all three dates.
