  • School reacts to video of official telling parents to alter trans kid’s birth certificate to play girls sports

A Texas school district has acknowledged footage of one of its administrators telling an undercover journalist posing as a parent to change a transgender child’s birth certificate to compete in girls sports.

The Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas, has provided a statement to Fox News Digital addressing the recent video of Reny Lizardo, the executive director of campus operations, giving this guidance, which was obtained by Accuracy in Media.

The statement indicates Lizardo has resigned from his position.

“In Irving ISD, we are committed to upholding the requirements of state and federal laws, especially as it pertains to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and we will cooperate with any investigation initiated by relevant authorities,” the statement said.

“We are aware of the unauthorized video footage circulating on social media of an individual connected with Irving ISD. The videos were obtained under false pretenses by an individual who posed as a concerned parent and additional individuals who posed as family friends of the employee pictured.

“The individuals also held themselves out as members of the media, but were not credentialed as such, constituting a breach of security. In addition, the footage has been edited and is an incomplete representation of the entire conversation, making it difficult to properly assess its probative value.”

In the footage, Lizardo said, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught,” with regard to changing the gender on a child’s birth certificate, and “if you can get that done, and you turn us a birth certificate that says ‘this gender,’ that’s the gender we go with.”

While discussing potential repercussions of the discussion, Lizardo suggested pleading plausible deniability.

The district insists Lizardo’s handling of the situation does not reflect the values and protocols of the school district.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Lizardo for comment.

HOW TRANSGENDERISM IN SPORTS SHIFTED THE 2024 ELECTION AND IGNITED A NATIONAL COUNTERCULTURE

“We want to reiterate that Irving ISD complies with all state and federal laws, and all employees are expected to adhere to any and all legal and ethical standards. The message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district,” the statement said.

“Individual employees do not speak on behalf of the district. The individual identified was acting outside of his role as it relates to legal and regulatory expertise. While the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation.”

The district’s statement concludes by claiming all of its athletes participate in the proper gender category.

“We can also confirm that all Irving ISD student-athletes are participating in their sport in accordance with the sex they were assigned at birth,” the district said. “Irving ISD is unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff. We remain focused on our primary function to maintain educational excellence and foster the full potential of our students.”

Texas is one of 25 states in the U.S. with a law that prevents or restricts transgender athletes from competing against girls and women. In June 2023, the state passed the Save Women’s Sports Act that prohibits transgender athletes from competing in girls and women’s sports and only allows students to compete in the gender category listed on their birth certificate.

The law only allows schools to recognize changes made to birth certificates that were made to correct a clerical error.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott addressed the footage involving Lizardo in a post on X and called for him to be fired and investigated.

“This Irving ISD Administrator should be fired on the spot. Both criminal & civil investigations must be taken against both the Administrator & Irving ISD,” Abbott wrote. “Has Irving ISD and its employees been involved in a fraudulent breach of state laws & a cover up? We must get the facts.”

The video shows Lizardo suggesting illegal actions regarding a child’s birth certificate to circumvent Texas law on transgender athletes.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for Lizardo to be fired and investigated after the video surfaced.

The Save Women’s Sports Act was passed in June 2023. It prohibits transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports, according to state law.

In a recent turn of events, a Texas school official has resigned following the release of an undercover video exposing the school’s controversial transgender athlete policy. The video, which was secretly recorded by a concerned parent, shows school officials discussing their discriminatory guidelines for transgender students participating in sports.

The official, who has not been named publicly, was caught on camera making derogatory remarks about transgender athletes and outlining a strict policy that would prevent them from competing in sports based on their gender identity. The video has sparked outrage among the community and has led to calls for the official’s resignation.

In a statement released by the school district, they have condemned the official’s actions and have announced that they will be conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. They have also stated that they are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students, regardless of their gender identity.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges that transgender individuals face in our society, particularly in the realm of sports. It is crucial that we continue to advocate for equality and acceptance for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity.

As more details emerge from this investigation, it is clear that there is still much work to be done to ensure that all students feel safe and supported in their schools. We must continue to fight against discrimination and prejudice in all its forms, and strive to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

  • Irving ISD administrator resigns after video sparks Texas Gov. Abbott to call for investigation

An Irving Independent School District administrator resigned this week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for his firing.

In a social media post, Abbott called for both “criminal and civil investigations” against Irving ISD after a video surfaced that allegedly showed Reny Lizardo, the executive director of Campus Operations for Irving ISD, speaking to an undercover investigator for Accuracy in Media, a nonprofit conservative watchdog group.

The video appeared to show Lizardo asking the woman, who claimed to be a mom, if she can legally change the gender on her child’s birth certificate so the male child can participate in female sports.

“I don’t know enough about it, is that possible?” Lizardo is heard on the video. “If you can get that done and you turn us a birth certificate that says this gender… that’s the gender we go with.”

At another point he appeared to say, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught, right?”

“Mr. Lizardo was more than happy to coach her on how to circumvent the law,” said Adam Guillette, the president of Accuracy in Media. “Then said, ‘If we get sued, we’ll just say this conversation never happened.’”

Guillette said the video was recorded in December. He said he returned to Irving ISD two weeks after that looking for answers.

“He denied everything, and I told him I had the video,” Guillette said. “We also brought a mobile billboard playing the video on a loop and parked it at the entrance to their district building. And he denied it all and asked me if he was being interviewed.”

Guillette alleged Lizardo then took him to someone in the district communications department.

“He said, ‘I can’t say anything until I’ve seen the video,’” Guillette said. “I offered to show it to him on a tablet or he could see it outside on the mobile billboard. He said he was too busy for that and took my information and never got back to me.”

Guillette said he has not heard from Irving ISD since that day.

“Many people will come out saying this was selective editing. This is a fake video,” Guillete said. “I’m not technically gifted enough to create deepfake videos of obscure Texas government employees. In addition, if it was fake, how come they haven’t denied it?”

Irving ISD released this statement to CBS News Texas, saying in part:

“…the videos were obtained under false pretenses … the message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district.
…while the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation.”

*see Irving ISD’s full statement below.

Prior to that statement, the governor’s office doubled down in a statement to CBS News Texas, saying, “Biological boys have no business competing against biological girls, and Governor Abbott has made it clear that we must protect the integrity of girl’s sports. This school administrator should be fired, and he and Irving ISD should be investigated for violations of state law.”

CBS News Texas also reached out to Lizardo but we have not heard back.

Title IX protections for LGBTQ students and Texas law

Title IX recently expanded to protect transgender students from discrimination in educational programs and activities; however, Texas did not adopt that policy change.

The landmark 50-year-old law prohibits education entities that receive federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex.

The Biden administration attempted to expand Title IX’s protections to LGBTQ students last year and broaden the definition of “hostile-environment harassment” to include harassment based on gender identity. Under the expanded protections, a school would be found in violation of Title IX if it prohibited transgender students from using restrooms and other facilities consistent with their gender identity.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration over the changes to the law, as did several Texas school districts. Paxton argued that Texas would be “harmed” if the changes took place.

“Texas educational institutions rely on federal funding and will be irreparably harmed if they lose their funding because of their reliance on 50 years of Title IX practice and legal precedent interpreting ‘on the basis of sex’ to mean biological sex, not ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity,’” the lawsuit states.

Abbott also condemned the changes to Title IX, sending a letter to Biden claiming the revision “forces schools to treat biological men as women.” Abbott also directed the Texas colleges and universities to ignore the revisions to Title IX.

In 2021, Abbott signed into law legislation that banned trans women and girls in K-12 schools from participating in sports teams aligned with their gender identities, and in 2023 legislation that bans trans athletes from participating in collegiate sports teams that match their gender identities. In 2023, Abbott also signed a law banning gender-affirming care for trans youth in Texas.

The changes to Title IX took effect Aug. 1 but in less than half of the states. Federal judges temporarily blocked it in 26 states as a result of legal challenges.

    Irving ISD full statement

“In Irving ISD, we are committed to upholding the requirements of state and federal laws, especially as it pertains to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and we will cooperate with any investigation initiated by relevant authorities.

We are aware of the unauthorized video footage circulating on social media of an individual connected with Irving ISD. The videos were obtained under false pretenses by an individual who posed as a concerned parent and additional individuals who posed as family friends of the employee pictured. The individuals also held themselves out as members of the media, but were not credentialed as such, constituting a breach of security.

In addition, the footage has been edited and is an incomplete representation of the entire conversation, making it difficult to properly assess its probative value. Nevertheless, we want to reiterate that Irving ISD complies with all state and federal laws and all employees are expected to adhere to any and all legal and ethical standards. The message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district.

Individual employees do not speak on behalf of the district. The individual identified was acting outside of his role as it relates to legal and regulatory expertise. While the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation. The resignation was accepted upon receipt in accordance with district policy.

While the subject matter at issue has not been presented to the district to this point, we have received an overwhelming number of inquiries nonetheless. In response, we can also confirm that all Irving ISD student-athletes are participating in their sport in accordance with the sex they were assigned at birth.

Irving ISD is unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff. We remain focused on our primary function to maintain educational excellence and foster the full potential of our students.”

In a shocking turn of events, an Irving ISD administrator has resigned following the release of a video that has sparked Texas Governor Greg Abbott to call for an investigation.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows the administrator engaging in inappropriate behavior that has raised serious concerns among parents and community members. Governor Abbott has taken swift action, calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

The resignation of the administrator comes as a blow to the Irving ISD community, who trusted this individual to uphold the values and standards of the district. The repercussions of this scandal are sure to be felt for some time to come.

As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial that transparency and accountability are maintained. Parents and students deserve to know the truth and have confidence that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available on this developing story.

  • New Shows And Movies To Stream On Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV And More

Another weekend, another batch of shows and movies to wile away the hours with. Today is the last day of January, so this is the first streaming guide of February, 2025. And there are definitely a few things worth checking out new to the myriad streaming services we all subscribe to these days.

Every week, I search high and low for the best new TV shows, movies, comedy specials, documentaries and whatever else catches my eye and publish them here in this guide. Some I’ve seen and reviewed. Others are just as new to me as they are to you. I also list the current ongoing shows that air each week that I think are worth watching.

If you have any tips or I missed something, shoot me a message on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. You can check out last weekend’s streaming guide right here.

ForbesWhat To Watch This Weekend: New Shows And Movies To Stream On Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV And More

What’s New & Notable This Weekend

    Paradise (Hulu)

Paradise is a new sci-fi political thriller from Dan Fogelman, the creator of the huge hit series This Is Us as well as Only Murders in the Building and the wildly underrated fantasy musical series Galavant (which I highly recommend). It stars This Is Us alum, Sterling K. Brown as the chief security agent for a US President, Cal “Wildcat” Bradford (James Marsden). The first episode is filled with mystery and one genuinely shocking turn that I won’t spoil.

I’ve only seen the first episode and I thought it was pretty good, but not great. Good enough to keep watching, not good enough to sing its praises (at least not yet). The big twist has huge implications for the rest of the series, but I’m not sure that I love it. We shall see. The first three episodes are out now, with more following every Tuesday for a total of 8 episodes. Critics and audiences largely agree on this one. On Rotten Tomatoes it has an 80% with critics and 79% with audiences.

    You’re Cordially Invited (Prime Video)

Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon star in this rom-com / comedy of errors from director Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Get Him To The Greek). The premise is simple: A bride and her father realize that the wedding venue they’ve booked for her wedding has also been booked by another bride and her sister. Comedy ensues, though critics and audiences both give this one a “Rotten” score (45% and 39% respectively). Might be a fun popcorn movie, though.

The Recruit – Season 2 (Netflix)

This looks right up my alley, but I missed the first season of The Recruit when it came out so I have some catching up to do. The series follows rookie CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) as he becomes embroiled in some good old-fashioned international espionage. Critics seem to like Season 2 better than Season 1, while audiences give it a slightly lower score on Rotten Tomatoes. I’ll have to check it out.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Disney Plus)

X-Men 97 was a big hit on Disney+ so it’s no wonder we’re getting another “retro” animated series. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man brings back that old-school animation along with lots of fun adventure for our web-slinging hero. Critics give this a resounding “Fresh” score of 97% but audiences are more skeptical at 63%.

    Saturday Night (Netflix)

Saturday Night follows a young Lorne Michaels and his crew as they prepare for the very first broadcast of Saturday Night Live. Director Jason Reitman teamed up with Gil Kenan on the script. Some critics really hated this one, but overall it’s done well with both critics and audiences (who liked it more) and I’ve been waiting for it to drop on Netflix. Fans of the original SNL cast—which included young Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase—should definitely give this one a shot. Matthew Rhys plays George Carlin who, you may recall, gave the very first ever opening monologue for SNL.

    Babygirl (VOD)

Now out on Video-On-Demand, erotic thriller Babygirl from director Halina Rejin stars Nicole Kidman as CEO Romy Mathis. She’s unsatisfied with her sex life and turns to a younger man, Samuel (Harris Dickinson) to explore her submissive fantasies. I haven’t seen this, but I do find it funny that the actor who plays Kidman’s husband is Antonio Banderas, which ought to make suspending your disbelief at this entire scenario pretty difficult!

    Dog Man (In Theaters)

Beloved kids book series Dog Man is now a feature film from DreamWorks. Sounds like it’s fun for the whole family with a 79% Rotten Tomatoes score. Parents should at least consider doing their civic duty and take their kids, if only to remind them that movie theaters still exist and can be a lot of fun.

    What’s Streaming Weekly

As always, a number of TV shows continue to air each week—not everyone has adopted the Netflix binge model!—and I list some of those here.

Severance – Season 2 remains the best show on streaming at the moment so please, please do yourself a favor and watch it! You can read my spoiler-free review of the complete season here, and check out my Episode 3 recap here. It’s worth getting Apple for this show alone, but there are lots of great Apple shows you should watch. New episodes drop Thursday evenings. (Apple).

Prime Target continues airing new episodes on Apple. This spy thriller follows a math genius obsessed with prime numbers who heads down a twisty turny path of no return. I still haven’t started it yet, as I caught up on the first season of Lioness and then started rewatching The Wire. But I’ll check it out soon. New episodes drop Wednesdays. (Apple)

The Pitt just dropped its fifth episode Thursday though I haven’t had time to watch it yet. I loved the first four episodes (my review) and I’m not even that into medical dramas. This one stars Noah Wyle of ER fame and takes on the 24 format where each new episode is another hour in the Pittsburgh ER. It’s incredibly bingeworthy, so consider holding off watching as episodes air and then binge a few at once. New episodes drop Thursday. (Max)

Traitors – Season 3 is the most popular reality TV competition show out at the moment and I’ve heard great things, but as I am not a reality TV show fan, I have not watched it. I might have to break my own rules, however, just to see what all the fuss is about. (Peacock)

Dexter: Original Sin is one of those shows where each time I remember a new episode is out I get really excited. Like right now, as I type this post I realize there’s a new episode out because a new one drops each Friday. Maybe I’ll go watch it after I’m done writing this guide! It’s so much fun and such a pleasant surprise. Here’s my review. (Paramount)

  • Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon’s Prime Video movie is this year’s Anyone But You.

The Amazon Prime Video rom-com You’re Cordially Invited is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who made some of the more memorable comedies of the 2000s and 2010s, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Neighbors movies. His new film is a would-be throwback to that era in other ways as well. It co-stars two of the biggest box-office draws of the aughts, Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon, albeit each in a role neither of them would have taken on at that time: Ferrell because his shambling every-oaf persona lent itself better to broad buddy comedies than to warmhearted romances, and Witherspoon because, 20 years ago, she would have been cast as the high-maintenance bride herself, rather than that character’s micromanaging older sister. The idea of bringing together these two titans of Hollywood likability—veterans, in Ferrell’s case literally, of the old-school studio comedy—had promise. Emphasis on the “had.”

Ferrell’s Jim is a single-dad widower who’s been raising his only child, Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan of Blockers and 2020’s Bad Education), since she was 6 years old. Their father-daughter connection is so close as to become a running joke, with the pair immediately short-circuiting any hint of potential conflict with a demonstration of cooing affection. When Jenni announces she’s marrying her boyfriend (Stony Blyden), Jim represses his fears of abandonment by springing into superdad mode, immediately booking them a wedding weekend at the Palmetto House, a tiny hotel on an island in the state of Georgia where he and his late wife married years ago. The trouble is that unbeknownst to Jim, the elderly innkeeper who answers his phone call drops dead before she can find a working pen to write his name down—a pitch-dark sight gag of the sort this often treacly comedy could have used more of.

Witherspoon’s Margot is a trickier piece of work, a tightly wound reality-TV producer in L.A. who’s semi-estranged from her Atlanta-based family because of a prickly relationship with her judgmental mother (Celia Weston). Still, Margot adores her younger sister Neve (Meredith Hagner of Search Party and Bad Monkey), so when she learns Neve is both engaged to a dimwitted but adoring Chippendales dancer (American Vandal’s Jimmy Tatro) and secretly pregnant with his child, Margot is determined to go all in on planning the perfect wedding for her baby sis. Guess which remote island resort she chooses to reserve for the blessed event? That’s right, the Palmetto House, where both families converge on the first weekend in June for what each party believes will be a private family gathering.

After some negotiation with the inn’s anxious manager (an underutilized Jack McBrayer), the two clans agree to share the limited space by staggering their planned events so as not to overlap. The shenanigans that unfold over the next few double-booked days should be predictable to anyone who’s seen a romantic comedy set at a wedding. At some point, an elaborately tiered cake will crash to the ground. A collapsing dock will dunk dressed-to-the-nines attendees in water. A pair of guests will perform a sappy pop song (here, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s country-inflected duet “Islands in the Stream”) that gets reprised by the whole cast under the closing credits, just as happened last year with Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten” in the unpleasant yet successful rom-com Anyone But You. And while everyone may not end up with exactly the partner they thought they were fated for, family rifts will be healed, long-suppressed hurts will be tearfully confessed, and, at least in this one case, live alligators will be wrestled in hotel-room beds, for reasons that are never entirely clear to either the characters or the audience.

The best moments in You’re Cordially Invited come in its middle section, when Jim and Margot have dug into their battle positions and sworn to one-up each other both as event organizers and as the emotional caretakers of their respective brides. Even when they’re working from a less than sparkling script, Ferrell and Witherspoon’s enormous reserves of movie-star charisma, and their shared flair for playing characters who are as comically self-absorbed as they are sure of their own moral righteousness, make their bouts of dance-floor sparring and top-this wedding toasts genuinely funny. Stoller understands, too, that no wedding comedy could work without a supporting cast of endearingly terrible relatives, so he gives Margot an extended family that includes Leanne Morgan as a perpetually drunk and horny sister, Rory Scovel as a knuckle-dragging brother, and best of all, Celia Weston, stealing every scene she’s in as a hypercritical Southern matriarch whose barbed exterior conceals unexpected maternal warmth.

Sadly, You’re Cordially Invited eventually founders on the same rocky shores as many recent attempts to revive the rom-com. In its final act, as the interweaving strands of nuptial chaos begin to resolve into a détente among the newlyweds and their families, Jim and Margot somewhat abruptly emerge as romantic partners themselves. While the age distance between the two is not enormous—Ferrell is 57 to Witherspoon’s 48—there is a curious wrongness to these two as a couple, especially given their characters as previously established in the movie. Jim, we have been shown in scene after scene, is an over-enmeshed father who badly needs some time on his own to figure out who he is. Margot, for her part, is a happily busy career woman who has never evinced any sign of dissatisfaction with her single status. Pairing them up at the end as lovebirds mutually crooning the very same song that was earlier used as an example of Jim and his daughter’s quasi-incestuously codependent relationship leaves the viewer with a claustrophobic sense that coupledom is the only conceivable happy ending.

What if Jim and Margot had ended up as close but bickering friends, continuing to one-up each other via text about their respective brides’ ongoing blissfulness? Or what if they had slept together in a moment of Champagne-fueled folly, only to realize the next morning that though they might not be a viable long-term match, at least they would always have that night at the Palmetto House? For the romantic comedy to continue to evolve as a genre, an outcome every film fan seems to want, we need more viable paths to happy-ever-afterness than the Shakespearean model of marrying off every character in the last scene. If You’re Cordially Invited merits your RSVP—and for die-hard fans of the genre, it might—it’s because of the comic chemistry between its dueling event planners. • More Disney Problems: This Hilarious Video Setting the ‘Snow White’ Trailer’s Negative Comments to Music Has More Likes Than the Actual Trailer

    Image Group LA. Getty Images.

One lesson that applies to every individual and cultural institution is that your public image is a fragile thing. That goes triple for businesses, even the biggest, most powerful megacorporations. You can spend decades establishing your brand, and decades more reassuring your customers they can trust the quality of your goods and services. But still your house is built from cards arranged on a wobbly table. A few false moves by people who aren’t as smart, talented or business savvy as the ones who worked their asses off to create all that success, and the structure comes crashing down all over the floor. I’d add, “Just ask Deadspin,” but I’m not sure it still exists.

And so it is with Disney. Over the past … few years? Decade maybe? … their brand has become damaged. Depending on who you talk to, it either can’t be trusted to give you quality family-oriented entertainment, or it’s straight-up toxic. That damage was on display this week when the star of their new tent pole superhero movie stepped in it:

And despite the fact Disney immediate scrambled their Public Relations Rapid Response Team to try and walk back what Anthony Mackie said, the damage is done. As the lawyers say, “You can’t unring a bell.”

But an action star (on an already troubled project) stepping on a rake to a foreign audience is a drop in the ocean compared to the problems with the Mouse’s live-action Snow White remake. Which probably began the instant someone in a board room said, “You know what’s a good idea? How about if we do a live-action Snow White remake?” And was only exacerbated when the star playing the title character gave interviews bad-mouthing the original for … something or other. Sexism, I guess ?Not being empowering enough to women? Promoting the male patriarchy? Forcing fairy tale princesses into Handmaid’s Tale-style servitude? I’m not sure.

Rachel Zegler definitely called the cartoon Prince that helped guide five generations of young females into puberty “a stalker.” Which is less than ideal for a company struggling to boost ticket sales to their theme parks with actors portraying that movie’s characters. Parks that are already swarming with a disturbingly high ratio of childless adults. Not to mention the fact the entire Disney empire began with that universally beloved film.

But where the Mouse shit really hit the overpriced souvenir fan was when the trailer was released almost exactly two months ago. And it was not well received. Not at all:

The demented looking animated dwarves. The cheap CGI. The lackluster music. It was a disastrous reception for a movie Disney desperately needs a win on. As of right now, it has just shy of 6 million views, and just 40,000 likes. And according to reports, 1.4 million dislikes (YouTube stopped posting those numbers, but they’re available elsewhere). Roughly speaking, that’s a ratio of 35 dislikes for every like. With over 65,000 comments, practically none of which are good.

And yet, two months after the trailer dropped, the news still keeps finding ways to get worse. Someone took those comments and set them to music. And it is glorious. The funniest 1:47 you’ll spend today:

    Bravo. Perfection. 10/10. No notes.

Until now, I was not aware this channel existed. But they’ve made a fan out of me. The insane Pirate Metal motif. The way it couples together the comments in order to make them rhyme:

If I saw this movie on a plane, I would still walk out,

This trailer makes me want to sit on the TV and look at my couch.

    And:

This movie should come with a disclaimer: No dwarves were harmed, but you childhood might be,

I haven’t seen anything self-implode this hard since that Titan submarine.

    Giphy Images.

And where it really gets bad for the people who’ve sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into this investment? The video debuted five days ago and already has close to 2 million views 105,000 likes. And counting. Making the ratio of views to the original 1-to-3, but the ratio of likes, 2.6-to-1. That number will only get worse as this goofy work of art increasingly goes viral.

This is what happens when you stop providing your customers the thing that made them loyal in the first place. Your brand is seen as toxic. And making fun of it becomes sport. A sport more fun than the lazy, uncreative, assembly line dreck you’ve been churning out. Who knows if Disney can turn this ship around. But we know almost to a moral certainty Snow White won’t be the thing that wins their audience back.

Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White has been met with mixed reviews, with many fans expressing disappointment over the casting choices and changes made to the beloved classic. And now, a hilarious video setting the trailer’s negative comments to music has gone viral, receiving more likes than the actual trailer itself.

In the video, various negative comments from viewers are turned into lyrics and sung to the tune of a catchy pop song. The result is a comedic and all-too-relatable take on the backlash the film has received.

While some may argue that the video is just adding fuel to the fire, others see it as a lighthearted way to poke fun at the criticism and express their own frustrations with Disney’s recent adaptations.

Regardless of where you stand on the Snow White controversy, it’s clear that this video has struck a chord with audiences. With more likes than the trailer itself, it’s proof that sometimes humor is the best way to deal with disappointment.
