Villarreal CF – Real Valladolid prediction & tips 01.02.2025

As the Primera División enters its 22nd matchday, Villarreal CF and Real Valladolid are set to clash in a crucial encounter at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The match, scheduled to kick off at 16:15 local time, pits the 5th-placed Villarreal against the struggling Real Valladolid, who currently occupy the bottom spot in the league table. With a significant gap in points and form between the two sides, this fixture promises to be an intriguing battle as both teams look to improve their respective positions.

Our betting prediction for Villarreal CF vs Real Valladolid:

Our betting tip for this Primera División clash leans heavily towards a home win for Villarreal CF. The Yellow Submarine’s superior form, higher league position, and stronger overall performance this season make them clear favorites. The best odds for a Villarreal victory can be found at 1win, offering 1.25 for a home win. For those seeking higher potential returns, considering a handicap bet on Villarreal might be a worthwhile option, given the disparity in form and league position between the two sides.

Our second betting prediction focuses on the “Both Teams to Score” market. Given Real Valladolid’s struggles in front of goal, particularly away from home, we anticipate that both teams will not score in this match. Melbet offers the best odds for this outcome at 1.81.

Villarreal CF – Flying High in La Liga

Villarreal CF have been enjoying a strong campaign in the 2024/25 Primera División season, currently sitting in 5th place with 34 points from 21 matches. The Yellow Submarine have demonstrated their offensive prowess, netting an impressive 39 goals while conceding 32, showcasing their ability to outscore opponents even in high-scoring affairs.

Their home record at the Estadio de la Cerámica has been solid, with 4 wins, 4 draws, and only 2 defeats. This resilience at home has been a cornerstone of their success this season, making them formidable opponents for any visiting team.

In their most recent outing, Villarreal secured a valuable point in a 1-1 draw away to Atlético Madrid, further underlining their competitiveness against top-tier opposition. This result extends their recent form to 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in their last five matches across all competitions, indicating a team that is difficult to beat and consistently picking up points.

Villarreal’s tactical approach under their manager has been characterized by fluid attacking football, often utilizing the width of the pitch to create chances. Their ability to score goals consistently (averaging nearly two per game) has been a key factor in their success this season, and they will be looking to maintain this offensive threat against a struggling Real Valladolid side.

Real Valladolid – Fighting for Survival

In stark contrast to their opponents, Real Valladolid find themselves in a precarious position at the foot of the Primera División table. With just 15 points from 21 matches, the Blanquivioletas are in desperate need of a turnaround if they are to avoid relegation.

Their recent form has been particularly concerning, with just one win in their last five matches across all competitions, accompanied by four defeats. This poor run of results has left them rooted to the bottom of the table, struggling to find consistency and much-needed points.

Real Valladolid’s away record this season paints a bleak picture, with just one win and nine defeats on their travels. This vulnerability on the road has been a significant factor in their current predicament, and they will need to show considerable improvement if they are to upset the odds against Villarreal.

In their most recent fixture, Real Valladolid suffered a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Real Madrid, further denting their confidence. Manager Álvaro Rubio Robles faces an uphill battle to motivate his squad and instill the belief needed to compete against a in-form Villarreal side.

Offensively, Real Valladolid have struggled significantly, scoring just 14 goals in 21 league matches while conceding 42. This goal difference of -28 is the worst in the league and highlights the enormous task facing Rubio Robles and his team as they fight for Primera División survival.

    Last Direct Encounter

The most recent meeting between these two sides resulted in a 2-1 away victory for Villarreal CF, further emphasizing the gulf in class between the teams. This result aligns with the overall head-to-head record, which heavily favors Villarreal.

    H2H Stats

Looking at the last five encounters between Villarreal CF and Real Valladolid across all competitions, the Yellow Submarine have dominated with 4 wins, while Real Valladolid have managed just 1 victory. This head-to-head record strongly suggests that Villarreal hold a significant psychological advantage heading into this fixture.

Villarreal CF will take on Real Valladolid in a highly anticipated La Liga clash on February 1st, 2025. Both teams will be looking to secure three crucial points in their quest for a top-half finish in the league standings.

Villarreal CF are currently in good form, having won four of their last five matches. They will be counting on their attacking duo of Gerard Moreno and Arnaut Danjuma to continue their impressive goalscoring form and lead the team to victory.

On the other hand, Real Valladolid have been struggling in recent weeks, with only one win in their last five matches. They will need to tighten up their defense and improve their attacking efficiency if they are to get a positive result against Villarreal CF.

In terms of prediction, Villarreal CF are the favorites to win this match, given their superior form and quality in attack. However, Real Valladolid are a resilient side and could potentially cause an upset if they are able to capitalize on any defensive mistakes from Villarreal CF.

    Tips:
    1. Back Villarreal CF to win the match.
    2. Consider placing a bet on both teams to score, as both sides have shown vulnerabilities in defense.
    3. Keep an eye on Gerard Moreno and Arnaut Danjuma as potential goal scorers for Villarreal CF.

Overall, this promises to be an exciting and closely contested match between Villarreal CF and Real Valladolid. Don’t miss out on the action!

  • Preview: Villarreal vs. Real Valladolid – prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday’s La Liga clash between Villarreal and Real Valladolid, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Villarreal will be bidding to return to winning ways in Spain’s top flight when they host Real Valladolid on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow Submarine are currently fifth in the La Liga table, six points behind fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao, while Real Valladolid are bottom of the division, picking up only 15 points from their opening 21 matches of the campaign.

    Match preview

Villarreal have a record of nine wins, seven draws and five defeats from their 21 league matches this season, with a total of 34 points leaving them in fifth spot in the tale, six points behind fourth-placed Athletic.

The Yellow Submarine have been an excellent watch in La Liga this term, scoring 39 times, which is the third-best attacking record behind Barcelona (59) and Real Madrid (50), but they have conceded 32, which is among the poorest defensive records this term.

Marcelino‘s side drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid last weekend, which will certainly go down as a positive result, while they were 4-0 winners over Mallorca in their last match in front of their own supporters on January 20.

Villarreal have picked up 16 points from their 10 home league matches this season, and there will be welcoming a Real Valladolid outfit that have only gathered three points from their 10 La Liga fixtures on their travels in 2024-25.

The Yellow Submarine beat Real Valladolid 2-1 in the reverse match earlier this season, but they actually suffered a 2-1 defeat when the two teams last locked horns at Estadio de la Ceramica in April 2023.

Real Valladolid are bottom of the La Liga table, picking up only 15 points from their 21 matches this season courtesy of a record of four wins, three draws and 14 defeats, while they have the worst defensive record with 42 goals conceded.

There is no getting away from the fact that it has been a poor campaign to date, but they are only six points from the safety of 17th spot, so a couple of strong results in quick succession would change the picture entirely.

Diego Cocca‘s side will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 home defeat to Real Madrid, while they were also beaten 2-1 by fellow relegation candidates Espanyol in their last game on their travels on January 17.

Real Valladolid have posted just one win this year, which came against Real Betis on January 11, while their only away success in Spain’s top flight this season came against Alaves in the middle of October.

The third-best attack in the division will be taking on the worst defence this weekend, so it could be a tough afternoon for a Real Valladolid outfit that are facing the prospect of dropping back down into the Segunda Division.

    Team News

Villarreal forward Ayoze Perez on August 26, 2024© Imago

Villarreal will again be without the services of Alfonso Pedraza and Ilias Akhomach due to injury, while Dani Parejo is a doubt with the issue that forced him to miss out against Atletico.

Head coach Marcelino is being careful with the fitness of leading goalscorer Ayoze Perez, but the Spain international is expected to earn a recall into the XI for the clash with Real Valladolid.

Gerard Moreno‘s goal against Atletico could see the experienced attacker also keep his spot, while Willy Kambwala‘s display at Wanda Metropolitano may earn him another start in the middle of the defence.

As for Real Valladolid, Raul Moro will miss the match due to a fractured collarbone, but Stanko Juric is available again after missing out against Real Madrid last weekend due to a suspension.

Mario Martin will now serve a suspension due to his red card against Real Madrid, so it is set to be a straight swap in the middle of midfield, with Juric coming back into the side.

Kike Perez and Juanmi Latasa are among the options for change this weekend, but head coach Cocca is expected to keep faith with the majority of the side that started against Real Madrid, with Marcos Andre likely to continue as the centre-forward.

    Villarreal possible starting lineup:
Luiz Junior; Femenia, Kambwala, Costa, S Cardona; Pino, Comesana, Gueye, Baena; G Moreno, Perez

    Real Valladolid possible starting lineup:
Hein; Perez, J Sanchez, D Torres, Rosa; Tuhami, Juric, Amallah; I Sanchez, Andre, Sylla

    SM words green background

We say: Villarreal 2-0 Real Valladolid

Real Valladolid have struggled on their travels this season, and we are finding it incredibly difficult to back anything other than a comfortable success for a Villarreal outfit that need all three points to close the gap on fourth-placed Athletic.

In terms of team news, Villarreal will be without the services of midfielder Manu Trigueros due to suspension, while Real Valladolid will be missing defender Javi Sanchez who is also suspended. However, both teams have a strong squad and will be looking to put in a solid performance.

Predicted lineups for the match are as follows:

Villarreal: Asenjo; Gaspar, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza; Parejo, Iborra, Coquelin; Moreno, Alcacer, Chukwueze

Segundo y quinto frente a frente.

  • Atlético Madrid hope to return to the top of LaLiga as Villarreal visit

After a dramatic comeback win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, Atlético de Madrid host Villarreal on Saturday afternoon with a chance — at least temporarily — to return to the summit of LaLiga.

Atletico Madrid (13-5-2, 44 points) have lost only once in the past 13 tries against Villarreal (9-6-5, 33 points) — a stretch that also includes seven draws and five Atlético victories. Even with a leaky defense (31 goals conceded in 20 games), it’s no secret that Marcelino’s men are among the tougher opponents for which Diego Simeone has to plan. Álex Baena, Villarreal’s star player, is especially unpredictable; the 23-year-old playmaker leads all players in LaLiga in shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (across 800 minutes played or more), and only FC Barcelona’s Raphina has conjured up more shot-creating actions overall.

It has been reported that Baena and Atlético have mutual interest in a summer transfer, perhaps at a fee below his €60 million release clause. If he wows the Metropolitano on Saturday and leads Villarreal (without injured metronome Dani Parejo) to a surprise win, that will only drive up the interest and urgency to sign him after the season.

“The opponent’s numbers tell us that it’s a very difficult match,” Marcelino told the media on Friday. “(Atlético) are a very sound team, with only 13 goals conceded and 10 clean sheets. They have an extraordinary squad and coach. But we are not defeated, we are going there with the hope of winning. We have to be solid at the back, match their intensity in duels, and pay maximum attention.”

    Sørloth set to return

After missing Atlético’s past two games to manage a right knee injury, former Villarreal forward Alexander Sørloth is positioned to rejoin the Atlético squad after he took part in full team training on Friday. Sørloth was Villarreal’s top scorer in LaLiga last year with 23 goals; he scored 16 times after Jan. 20. This season, only Robert Lewandowski has a better xG per 90 mark than Sørloth among forwards with at least 750 minutes played.

While Sørloth could be in line for minutes on Saturday, the same cannot be said for left-back Javi Galán, who suffered a moderate ankle sprain in midweek. Galán was set to miss this match anyway through suspension, and it seems he will miss at least two more games — away to RB Salzburg in the Champions League and home to Mallorca in LaLiga — due to this injury. Atlético are aiming to have the Extremaduran ready for the Feb. 8 derby against Real Madrid, at the latest.

Clément Lenglet too is suspended through yellow card accumulation; Robin Le Normand is likely to start in his place, alongside Joséma Giménez. Simeone did not test an 11 during the portion of Friday’s session open to media, but we can assume Reinildo will replace Galán at left-back. I can see Conor Gallagher returning to the lineup, while Antoine Griezmann and Julián Alvarez should repeat as the starting forward pair after Alvarez’s heroics on Tuesday.

  • Preview: Atletico Madrid vs. Villarreal – prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday’s La Liga clash between Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Atletico Madrid will be bidding to get their La Liga title challenge back on track when they welcome Villarreal to Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday afternoon.

Diego Simeone‘s side are currently second in the La Liga table, two points behind the leaders Real Madrid, while Villarreal occupy fifth spot, six points behind fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao in the race for Champions League qualification.

Atletico saw a 15-game winning run in all competitions come to an end last weekend, when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Leganes, but Simeone’s team bounced back impressively in the Champions League on Tuesday, beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1.

The Red and Whites are fifth in the Champions League table and on course to automatically qualify for the knockout round of the competition, while they are firmly in the La Liga title picture, sitting second, two points behind Real Madrid.

The reigning champions are not in action until Saturday evening against Real Valladolid, so a win here would move Atletico back to the top of the division, and they have been excellent on home soil this term, picking up 26 points from their 10 La Liga matches at Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico have only conceded six times at home in La Liga this term, but they will be taking on a free-scoring Villarreal outfit that have 38 goals in La Liga this term – the third-best attacking record behind Barcelona (52) and Real Madrid (47).

The capital giants have not lifted the La Liga title since the 2020-21 campaign, and it would be some achievement if they could finish above Real Madrid and Barcelona, while the team are also chasing success in the Copa del Rey.

Unlike Atletico, Villarreal only have the league to focus on for the remainder of the season, and the Yellow Submarine are firmly in the top-four race in La Liga, currently sitting fifth, six points behind fourth-placed Athletic.

Marcelino‘s side have had their issues this term when it comes to consistency, but they have now won two of their last three in the league, beating Leganes and Mallorca either side of a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad.

Villarreal boast a record of nine wins, six draws and five defeats during the 2024-25 campaign, while as mentioned, they have scored 38 times, but their defensive record is poor, conceding 31 times in their 20 matches.

The Yellow Submarine have actually only lost two of their last seven La Liga matches with Atletico, and the points were shared in a 2-2 draw when they locked horns for the reverse game earlier this season.

Atletico were 3-1 winners at Wanda Metropolitano last term, but Villarreal have a recent away league success over the Red and Whites to their name, having triumphed 2-0 in this fixture in August 2022.

    Team News

Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth celebrates scoring on November 23, 2024© Imago

Atletico could again be missing Alexander Sorloth on Saturday due to injury, while Javi Galan is out of the contest through suspension, but the home team are otherwise in strong shape for the visit of Villarreal.

Simeone could switch back to a 4-4-2 for this match, having played a 5-4-1 against Leverkusen, with Antoine Griezmann being pushed into the spot alongside Julian Alvarez in the final third of the field.

Conor Gallagher was an unused substitute against Leverkusen but is expected to be in the starting side on Saturday, while Robin Le Normand could be asked to operate as a full-back in Galan’s absence.

As for Villarreal, Diego Conde remains a doubt due to a knee problem, while Alfonso Pedraza and Ilias Akhomach remain unavailable for selection this weekend.

Ayoze Perez made his return from injury off the bench against Mallorca last time out, and the forward, who has scored 11 times in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign, should now be introduced back into the XI.

Gerard Moreno is likely to be the player to drop out, with Perez expected to feature alongside Thierno Barry in a front two, while there will be another start for Alex Baena, who is believed to be a transfer target for Atletico.

    Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup:
Oblak; Molina, Gimenez, Lenglet, Le Normand; Simeone, De Paul, Barrios, Gallagher; Griezmann, Alvarez

    Villarreal possible starting lineup:
Luiz Junior; Femenia, Foyth, Costa, S Cardona; Pino, Gueye, Parejo, Baena; Perez, Barry

    SM words green background

We say: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Villarreal

This is set to be a fascinating match; Villarreal will be the fresher of the two sides and will enter the clash off the back of an excellent performance against Mallorca, but Atletico performed brilliantly with 10 men against Leverkusen, and we are expecting Simeone’s side to navigate their way to all three points on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid will face off against Villarreal in a highly anticipated La Liga matchup this weekend. Both teams are coming off impressive performances in their last few games and will be looking to secure three points in this crucial fixture.

    Prediction:
Atletico Madrid have been in fine form recently and will be the favorites to win this match. With their strong defense and potent attacking options, they should be able to overcome Villarreal’s challenges and come out on top. However, Villarreal have also been playing well and should not be underestimated. This game could go either way, but I predict Atletico Madrid to edge out a narrow victory.

    Team News:
Atletico Madrid will be without the services of Jose Gimenez and Sime Vrsaljko due to injuries. However, they will have their key players like Luis Suarez, Joao Felix, and Koke available for selection.

Villarreal, on the other hand, will have a full squad to choose from and will be looking to field their strongest lineup to compete against Atletico Madrid.

    Lineups:
Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Trippier, Savic, Felipe, Hermoso; Koke, Llorente, Saul, Carrasco; Joao Felix, Suarez.

Villarreal: Rulli; Gaspar, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza; Trigueros, Capoue, Parejo; Gomez, Alcacer, Moreno.

This promises to be an exciting match between two top teams in La Liga. Make sure to tune in to see who comes out on top in this clash of titans.
