Compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility software

The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 VC is compatible with the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software (for computers and Android OS) that was developed in-house by TAMRON. This software allows various lens and camera settings to be assigned to the Focus Set Button located on the lens. Also, the lens’ firmware can be updated to the latest version. In addition, when using the mobile version, functions unique to the mobile version can be operated remotely without touching the lens.

Half-macro photography with 1:2 magnification ratio

The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 VC is capable of extremely high performance when shooting close-ups, particularly for an ultra-telephoto zoom lens. You can enjoy half-macro shooting with an MOD of 0.25m (9.8in) at 50mm, and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 in focal length from 50mm to 70mm. Moreover, at the 400mm telephoto end, the MOD is 1.5m (59.1in), providing a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 for dynamic shots. The unprecedented level of freedom in shooting reveals the charm of subjects more than ever, and flexible shooting options previously unseen in ultra-telephoto zooms.
