  • ‘Abbott Elementary’ Star Lisa Ann Walter Shares What It’s Like Working With Sheryl Lee Ralph

School is now in session, and “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter is our instructor.

While making an appearance on talk show “Sherri,” Walter opened up about her friendship with “Abbott” co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph.

“We trade off who comes in being ‘on it,’” Walter told host Sherri Shepherd. “Very often it’s Sheryl being on one.”

The conversation was sparked by a video Walter shared on Instagram earlier this month, while Los Angeles was battling major fires. In the video, the two shared a moment of levity about how the fierce winds driving the flames had left Ralph’s wig “askew.”

“How Miss Sheryl deals with hurricane force winds at 5 a.m.,” Walter captioned her post. “We are so grateful for all the first responders and so deeply sorry for all the loss our neighbors are going through. We are currently between 3 major fires but are safe for now and doing what we do — make things a bit better with laughter.”

Walter explained to Shepherd that the “Sister Act 2” actor often walks into work with a “monologue or sermon,” adding that Ralph has a strong sense of self and is a “loving” person. Filming the ABC sitcom doesn’t feel like a job, Walter said, but rather something fun the cast enjoys doing.

The two share a strong bond on set, but Walter revealed that until recently, Ralph had never seen Walter in her comedic element. The “Parent Trap” actor confessed that her standup isn’t necessarily family friendly and said that she was “nervous” to have her co-star see her perform.

“My standup is a little raw,” she confessed. “I wouldn’t necessarily invite a Sheryl Lee Ralph.”

When Ralph got wind that Walter was performing in Philadelphia, she jumped at the chance to support her friend, Walter recounted. Walter worried that Ralph’s appearance would be more like having a “parent” or “judge-y aunt” showing up at your gig, but her comedy set went over very well.

A couple of weeks later, Ralph suggested that she record the performance as a special. Before then, Walter had never recorded her performance, for “whatever reason,” but Ralph doubled down on her original suggestion.

This moment was the spark that led them to create a new production company together, dubbed “Work Wives Productions,” Walter said.

“When you put women together, it’s nothing we can’t do,” Shepherd said.

  • Walter Clayton Jr. injury update: Florida Gators star goes to locker room before halftime

Florida star Walter Clayton Jr . went straight to the locker room with 1:07 to go in the first half of their game against Tennessee with an apparent injury.

Trailing 21-19, Clayton came back down after a shot and appeared to roll his left ankle. In a low scoring affair, the Gators could ill afford to lose one of their stars.

Tennessee led Florida 24-21 at halftime once the clocks hit all zeroes. Clayton was three-of-11 shooting, including two-of-eight from three-point land, for 10 points, one rebound and one steal.

He led all scorers during the game to that point.

Clayton’s been one of the best players in the country for a hot Florida team. He recently broke the school record for consecutive games with a made three-pointer.

With his first trey against the South Carolina Gamecocks earlier this month, Clayton broke UF’s record for consecutive games with a 3-pointer, breaking Michael Frazier II ’s mark of 41. Coincidentally, Frazier set Florida’s single-game 3-pointer record at South Carolina, hitting 11 in his 37-point performance on March 4, 2014.

Walter Clayton exits game with apparent injury

“I just learned about the streak, a couple of weeks ago when it 36, 37. I honestly can’t remember the last game (with no 3-pointer), 41 games, that’s what it was,” Clayton said of his streak at the time.

“I know to have my name with some of those other guys up there, they were great players. Obviously being a part of the Gators tradition. I’m happy about that. But just getting a win, that’s all that matters.”

Head coach Todd Golden was amazed by his player’s efforts.

“I’m just really proud of him for what he’s been able to accomplish, obviously, from an individual standpoint, but also the way he’s been able to lead us to, you know, the season we’re having,” Golden said of Clayton. “There were a lot of question marks around him in terms of, what is he going to be able to do? Is he gonna be able to take on this leadership role?

“Well, starting point guard for a top-five team in the country, and currently, being talked about as a second-team All-American, I think he’s doing a great job. His consistency and his competitiveness for us have been elite all year. He’s a guy that he makes you a better coach, being able to roll him out there every night and let him play with the freedom that he does.”

  • Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. returns in second half after suffering apparent ankle injury vs. Tennessee

UPDATE: Walter Clayton Jr. will attempt to give it a go in the second half, according to a UF spokesperson. The initial story is below:

The No. 5-ranked Florida Gators have been fortunate from an injury standpoint throughout the first 20 games of the 2024-25 regular season, yet UF’s luck took a turn for the worst in the first half of Saturday’s contest at Tennessee.

Facing an under-manned Volunteers team playing without standout guard Zakai Zeigler and forward Igor Milicic Jr., the Gators found themselves in a tight contest as the first half neared its conclusion, with leading scorer Walter Clayton Jr. accounting for 10 points to lead all scorers.

However, the senior guard had to be helped to the locker room after suffering an apparent ankle injury with 1:07 remaining in the first half. Clayton appeared to be in considerable pain as he was helped to Florida’s bench before departing for the locker room.

Having led by four midway through the first half, the Gators entered the locker room trailing to the Vols, 24-21.

Clayton, a Lake Wales native who spent his first two seasons of collegiate basketball at Iona, needs just two points to join UF’s 1,000-point club. A week ago, Will Richard’s game-winning shot with 4.8 seconds left in regulation at South Carolina gave him his 1,000th point as a Gator.

Ahead of UF’s contest at Tennessee, third-year Florida head coach Todd Golden discussed the potency of the Gators’ backcourt, saying their success was aided by the play of Florida’s frontcourt.

“Our bigs, they probably don’t get enough credit for how good we are offensively, because obviously Walter is such an efficient scorer, Alijah’s been so good for us and Will has really taken it up a notch, right? Those three, and Denzel (Aberdeen) obviously. I mean, he’s been great the majority of the year as well. And those guys have the ball in their hands a lot, they make a lot of plays and they deserve a lot of the credit. But I think we probably have the easiest frontcourt in America to play with, with the way we play, three out, two in, obviously having two big guys on the floor, it’s not easy to do and to be able to be smooth offensively the way we are, Condo (Alex Condon), Tommy (Haugh), Sam (Alexis), even Rueben (Chinyelu), they deserve a lot of credit for the way we move the ball, and kind of get to the second and third side offensively and what you obviously do a great job of recognizing and realizing is how effective our bigs are carving out space for our guards in the paint, in and around the rim and a lot of those two-point field goals,” Golden said. “Our guards shoot an incredible number from two, their two-point field goal percentage is just elite, I mean it’s just absurd and a big part of it is when they get in there and they’re finishing around the rim, our bigs are taking the rim pressure away, with their bodies and their physicality.”

In a thrilling game against Tennessee, Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. suffered an apparent ankle injury in the first half. However, to the relief of Gators fans, Clayton Jr. made a triumphant return in the second half to help lead his team to victory.

Despite the injury scare, Clayton Jr. showed incredible resilience and determination as he fought through the pain to rejoin his teammates on the court. His presence was immediately felt as he made crucial plays and helped to solidify the Gators’ defense.

This display of toughness and leadership from Clayton Jr. not only inspired his teammates but also served as a reminder of his importance to the team. His return in the second half was a turning point in the game, and his performance was instrumental in securing the win for Florida.

As the Gators continue their season, Walter Clayton Jr.’s return from injury will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment of strength and perseverance. Gators fans can rest assured knowing that they have a player like Clayton Jr. who is willing to give his all for the team, no matter the circumstances.

Walter White’s House From Breaking Bad Listed for $4 Million Amid Non-stop Fan Visits

The home of Walter White, famously featured on the show Breaking Bad, is now on the market, PEOPLE can confirm.

The four-bedroom, one-bathroom, 1,910 sq. ft. home located in Albuquerque, N.M. was just listed with a hefty $4 million dollar price tag. Per Zillow, the estimated market value of the suburban, ranch-style home is $343,100.

David Christensen and Sonya Avila of Christensen Group | eXp Realty Luxury and Ryan Johnston of InterPhase Entertainment currently hold the listing.

According to local outlet KOB 4 Eyewitness News, the iconic residence has been drawing in tourists from all over the world since the hit drama series, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, ended in 2013. Fans reportedly take pictures outside the property all day and night, but no one is ever allowed inside, the outlet reports.

    christensen group

However, one of the current owners, Joanne Quintana, who grew up in the home with her siblings, recently invited KOB 4 cameras inside for the first time.

According to Quintana, her late parents, Fran and Louis Padilla, bought the house back in 1973. One random knock at the door in 2006 would lead to their house becoming part of television history.

“My mother never ever answers the door, and she did, “ Quintana told the outlet. “They introduced themselves and handed her a card and said, ‘We would like to use your house for a pilot.’” After the family confirmed the project was the real deal, they granted permission and filming began two weeks later.

According to KOB 4, the family only got paid an unspecified fee per shoot and does not receive residuals from the show.

“We were, like anybody, it’s a once in a lifetime thing. You got to meet the actors, the actresses, you got to see how they set up the equipment and what it all takes,”  said Quintana.

The family also has their fair share of memories involving some of the talent, notably Cranston, who plays White. Fran often provided cookies for the cast and crew, but Cranston never really got to enjoy them, for a good reason.

“What was funny was Bryan Cranston could not eat one cookie,” Quintana recalls. “Because he had cancer in the show, so he was losing weight. So he would pass, but everybody, all the directors, all the writers, would eat the cookies.” He finally indulged on the last day of filming, she says, and even took a picture “holding my mom’s biscotti.”

Breaking Bad went on to be an Emmy Award-winning sensation with five seasons totally 62 episodes, bringing unexpected attention to the quiet street.

“The fans started coming. We would go out there, my mother and I, and we would take pictures with them,” Quintana shared of the early days of the show’s recognition.

The constant attention, however, soon became overwhelming for the family, with some fans taking things too far with practical jokes related to the show.

One one occasion, Quintana recalls, “Around 4:30 in the morning, the doorbell rang, my mom got up and opened the door, and it was a package” addressed to Walter white. The family called authorities, which led to a bomb squad being sent to the home.

Soon, they were forced to beef up security around the house, including a fence and motion-sensor cameras. “My brothers said, that’s it, we’re done, fence is going up. That’s too close for comfort, the front door,” Quintana said.

Quintana told the outlet that an average of 300 cars would drive by the property per day. Eventually, taking care of her aging parents, who were in hospice in their later days, became too much to juggle.

While she doesn’t share a reason for the sale, the family’s relationship with the show’s enthusiastic fandom has undoubtedly been a factor.

“This was our family home from 1973, almost 52 years. So we’re going to walk away with just our memories,” Quintana told the outlet. “It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight anymore.”

Despite the non-stop fan visits, the current owners have decided to sell the property, citing the constant intrusion on their privacy. The 3,500 square foot home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a detached two-car garage.
