If you are attending the Steelers game at Acrisure stadium, you may want to bundle up as the temperatures will feel in the single digits throughout the game.As of 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the temperature at Pittsburgh International Airport came to 22 degrees, with the wind chill making it feel like 9 degrees outside. The temperature of the seats at Acrisure Stadium feel around 25 degrees or so. Make sure to dress warm and bring some extra clothes and blankets to wear and sit on. Winds could gust up to 25 mph or 30 mph. This will give the air a little extra bite, especially as kickoff for the Steelers and Bengals approaches. It will be a cold night for football with air temperatures in the lower 20s and wind chills in the upper single digits. Winter Storm Warnings have already been announced for the following areas: Monongalia, Preston, and Garrett Counties through Monday evening. Winter Storm Watch have already been announced for the following areas: Greene, Fayette, and Westmoreland Ridges through Monday evening. Snow will be heavy once it arrives, especially south of I-70, and last through midmorning before we taper to snow showers through the rest of the day Monday. All told, by the time snow is down, our current forecast expects:South of I-70: 4-8″ of snow, locally higher amounts in the mountains (potentially up to 15″ in the mountains of Preston/Garrett Counties). US 422 to I-70, including Pittsburgh: 2-4″ of snow, locally higher amounts, especially south of US 22 and in the Laurel Highlands. North of US 422: 1-2″ of snow.There is the possibility a brief period of freezing rain/sleet could mix in along the WV/PA border around sunrise, but this appears a small chance right now. Most of the snow will fall before 11 a.m. Monday. Monday is a Severe Weather Alert Day.Flurries/lake effect snow showers will continue on Tuesday, especially early, with a few flakes still flying on Wednesday. Our next major chance of precipitation doesn’t return until next Friday night/Saturday. Cold will be midweek headlines with lows potentially in the single digits Thursday and Friday mornings.
