  • WWE Interviewer Jackie Redmond Explains Why She’s Unlikely To Ever Wrestle

Now nine years into her career with WWE as a backstage interviewer/occasional panel host, Jackie Redmond has established herself as one of the more significant WWE personalities that hasn’t stepped foot in the ring as a wrestler. But could that change? While uncommon, non-wrestling personalities have been known to lace up the boots from time to time, and during an appearance on the “Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis,” Redmond revealed she did have a wrestling background, having competed as an amateur years ago.

Naturally, this led to Vulpis asking Redmond if there was ever any chance at all of her competing in a wrestling match. But while Redmond revealed that she had dipped her toe in some pro wrestling training in the past, and wouldn’t completely shut the door on the idea, it’s not anything fans should expect from her.

“I ran the ropes one time at Santino Marella’s gym,” Redmond said. “He has a gym outside of Toronto, or he used to…I think he still has it. And I had no idea how hard just running the ropes is, in an actual ring…I left with bruises. I was like ‘What is this?’ You think it just gives, it looks so simple. But anyone, especially anyone with a small frame that has actually run the ropes will tell you it’s, like, painful. Like, Snoop Dogg, I understand why it looked the way it looked when he did it. It’s hard. That s**t is hard. So I don’t think I would ever wrestle. Unless it was a situation that was just too iconic to pass up.”

Jackie Redmond, WWE Interviewer and host of Aftermath on Sportsnet, recently opened up about why she’s unlikely to ever step into the wrestling ring herself.

In a candid interview, Redmond explained that while she has immense respect for the athleticism and dedication of WWE Superstars, she simply doesn’t have the same desire to compete in the ring.

“I have so much admiration for the men and women who put their bodies on the line every time they step into the ring,” Redmond said. “But for me personally, I’ve always been more comfortable in the role of interviewer and host. I love being able to connect with the fans and share the stories of the incredible athletes who make up the WWE roster.”

Redmond also cited her lack of training and experience in the ring as another reason why she’s unlikely to ever pursue a career as a wrestler.

“I have so much respect for the training and dedication that goes into becoming a WWE Superstar,” Redmond said. “I know that it’s not something you can just jump into without proper preparation and experience. And while I love being a part of the WWE family, I know that my strengths lie in a different area.”

Despite her decision to remain on the sidelines, Redmond continues to be a beloved member of the WWE community, bringing her passion and enthusiasm to every interview and segment she hosts.

Fans can catch Redmond on Aftermath on Sportsnet, where she provides expert analysis and insight into all things WWE. While she may not be lacing up her boots anytime soon, Redmond’s contributions to the world of professional wrestling are invaluable and appreciated by fans around the world.

  • Bully Ray Names WWE Star He’d Want To See Wrestle Every Night

Since Triple H took over as head of creative of WWE in 2022, certain stars have become essential viewing for their in-ring talent. Wrestlers such as Chad Gable and IYO SKY have been given more opportunities to showcase their abilities in the ring, while also proving to be some of the most relied-upon stars to deliver a good match on any given night.

In a recent edition of “Busted Open Radio,” Bully Ray revealed which WWE star he would choose to watch compete in the ring on a nightly basis if given the option to watch only one match.

“I think if you gave me a choice and you said you can only watch one person’s match tonight, I think I’d say GUNTHER, ’cause I know I’m going to get something that I love. I know that there’s going to be a great story in the match along with great physicality. I’m just saying like maybe a top three guy, he’s bang for your buck, give me a GUNTHER match,” he said. “Dude, GUNTHER and Sami Zayn is really good stuff. It doesn’t scream Rock-Hogan, but, man, is it a great match. GUNTHER, he’s so, so good at what he does, I don’t try to find holes in people’s game. You watch GUNTHER’s stuff, you can’t find holes in his game.”

GUNTHER has easily entered the conversation for WWE’s best in-ring competitor at the moment, with his matches against Sami Zayn, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre being great examples of why “The Ring General” is considered one of the most talented performers in pro wrestling today.

  • WWE Star Sami Zayn Explains Why He Thinks He Can Win The 2025 Royal Rumble

Every entrant in the Royal Rumble match goes in with intent to stake their claim a world championship match at WrestleMania. The goal is the same for all 30 participants, but each entrant may have a different mindset going into the match despite everyone having the same objective. While joining WWE’s “Royal Rumble Kickoff,” Sami Zayn opened up on how he feels going into the 2025 Royal Rumble match.

“Obviously a lot is being made of this Royal Rumble and with good reason,” Zayn said. “Triple H just came out here and said ‘probably the biggest Royal Rumble of all-time.’ 65,000 people in Indianapolis, the most star-studded lineup of any Royal Rumble of all-time, and I find myself getting asked all these questions about my relationship with everybody else in the match.”

The multi-time WWE Intercontinental Champion listed off names like Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens before acknowledging that while he feels he’s in the middle of what seems like a lot of controversy, he instead sees it as momentum.

“I know a thing or two about momentum in this company cause it comes and it goes, and I’ve had it and I’ve lost it and I’ve had it and I’ve lost it,” Zayn said. “I feel like I have the momentum to do something that I’ve never been able to do: win the Royal Rumble.”

Finally, kickoff host Pat McAfee addressed Zayn’s Helluva Kicks to Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in past weeks that appeared accidental, asking Zayn for clarity.

“Well Pat, it’s one thing to question my actions,” Zayn warned, “but I feel like now you’re questioning my character.”

In a recent interview, WWE star Sami Zayn shared his thoughts on why he believes he can win the 2025 Royal Rumble. Zayn, known for his high-flying moves and underdog mentality, expressed confidence in his abilities and determination to come out on top in the prestigious event.

“I know that the Royal Rumble is one of the most challenging matches in WWE history, but I truly believe that I have what it takes to emerge victorious in 2025,” Zayn said. “I have been working tirelessly to improve my skills and showcase my unique style in the ring, and I know that I can outlast and outperform any other competitor.”

Zayn also touched on his past experiences in the Royal Rumble, citing his resilience and never-say-die attitude as key factors that will help him secure a win in 2025. “I have faced some of the toughest opponents in the Royal Rumble in the past, and I have always fought tooth and nail until the very end,” he said. “I have learned from my past mistakes and setbacks, and I am more determined than ever to claim victory in the 2025 Royal Rumble.”

Fans of Zayn are eagerly anticipating his performance in the upcoming Royal Rumble, as they believe he has what it takes to make a lasting impact and potentially become the winner of the prestigious event. With his unwavering determination and passion for the sport, Zayn is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the 2025 Royal Rumble.

  • WWE SmackDown live results, recap and grades: Damian Priest, LA Knight beat The Bloodline in go-home show

Damian Priest is making enemies quickly at his new home. Priest’s first night on WWE SmackDown put him in The Bloodline’s crosshairs, though he found an unlikely ally in LA Knight.

Priest was immediately thrust into a rivalry after being traded to SmackDown in the company’s talent transfer portal. Priest and Knight collided with Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga in the main event of SmackDown. Though Priest and Knight added a win to their records, they were ultimately left staring at the lights.

SmackDown also featured a war of words between CM Punk and Kevin Owens and a women’s United States championship match. Other notable talent on Friday’s show include Jimmy Uso, Liv Morgan and WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

From The Judgment Day to The Bloodline

Priest appeared on SmackDown after switching over through the talent transfer portal. The former world heavyweight champion welcomed a fresh start after his fallout with the Judgment Day. Soon after, The Bloodline’s Fatu and Tonga interrupted him. Fatu acknowledged Priest as a fellow street warrior before threatening him. Priest responded kindly by superkicking Tonga. The Bloodline commenced with a two-on-one beatdown cut short by an intervening LA Knight.

Damian Priest and LA Knight def. The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga) via pinfall after Priest hit Tonga with the South of Heaven chokeslam. Priest and Knight came out ahead in a competitive main event. Post-match, Fatu laid out Priest with a superkick, Samoan drop and double jump moonsault. SmackDown went off the air with “The Samoan Werewolf” standing tall.

I’m conflicted about the creative direction of Friday’s main eventers. It’s all positive for Priest, who gets a fresh start on the blue brand. But I’m more worried about The Bloodline and Knight. I’m not sure what The Bloodline’s mission statement is since Solo Sikoa lost his “Tribal Chief” status to Reigns. It’s good to see Knight involved in a storyline but he’s primarily regulated to run-ins.
    Grade: B+

What else happened on WWE SmackDown?

    • CM Punk and Kevin Owens smack-talked each other’s chances at the Royal Rumble PPV.
    • Jimmy Uso def. Carmelo Hayes via pinfall with a schoolboy pin.
    • WWE Women’s Championship — Michin def. Chelsea Green via disqualification after Green hit her with a kendo stick.
    • Motor City Machine Guns and Los Garza def. #DIY and Pretty Deadly via pinfall after Chris Sabin rolled up Tommaso Ciampa.
    • Naomi def. Liv Morgan via pinfall with a victory roll.
    • Andrade def. The Miz via pinfall with a back elbow.
    • Nia Jax laid out Tiffany Stratton with an An-Nia-lator.

WWE SmackDown Live Results, Recap and Grades: Damian Priest, LA Knight beat The Bloodline in Go-Home Show

In the final episode of SmackDown before the upcoming pay-per-view event, Damian Priest and LA Knight shocked the WWE Universe by defeating The Bloodline in a thrilling tag team match. The tension was high as both teams fought tooth and nail for the victory, but in the end, it was Priest and Knight who emerged victorious.

The match started off with Roman Reigns and Damian Priest facing off in the ring, showcasing their incredible athleticism and skill. The action quickly spilled to the outside as Priest and Reigns brawled around the ring, exchanging powerful strikes and high-flying moves. Meanwhile, LA Knight and Jimmy Uso also showcased their in-ring prowess, with Knight delivering a devastating neckbreaker to Uso.

As the match reached its climax, chaos ensued as all four competitors found themselves in the ring, trading blows and near-falls. In a surprising turn of events, LA Knight managed to hit his finisher on Jimmy Uso, securing the pinfall victory for his team. The Bloodline was left stunned as Priest and Knight celebrated their impressive win.

Overall, this match was a fantastic showcase of the talent and athleticism of all four competitors involved. Damian Priest and LA Knight proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the WWE tag team division, while The Bloodline will surely be looking for revenge in the upcoming pay-per-view event.

    Final Grade: A

Roman Reigns Reflects on Jon Moxley's Unpredictability

Former WWE Champion Roman Reigns recently discussed the unpredictability of current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, reminiscing about their time in The Shield. After debuting at Survivor Series 2012, Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose formed an iconic faction.

In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Reigns shared: “It’s been a while. I haven’t talked to him in a bit. The one thing about Mox is you can’t GPS him. You can’t be like, ‘Oh he’s right here, don’t worry’ – we had no clue where he is, but we always knew he would be there.”

He recalled moments of uncertainty, saying: “A lot of times we’d be up in the concourse, so we all get up there together and you’re wondering where he is… like, ‘Uhh, do you know where the fox is?’ The fox is gonna fox. But literally every time it was time to take a step down those stairs, he was always there.”

Reigns highlighted Moxley’s spontaneous nature: “This guy, we’d be walking through the airport, and he’d just disappear… And then out of nowhere he pops up, he’d have a bagel and a coffee and half a mouthful of a croissant or something like that. It’s been a while and he’s got a family now so I’m hoping that he’s a little more predictable for his wife and child’s sake, but yeah he was an unpredictable dude for sure.”

Roman Reigns is set to compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match on February 1. Meanwhile, Jon Moxley remains the AEW World Champion and leads The Death Riders stable.

You can’t be like, ‘Oh he’s right here, don’t worry’ – we had no clue where he is, but we always knew he would be there. A lot of times we’d be up in the concourse, so we all get up there together and you’re wondering where he is, because there’s only so many places to hide.”

He continued, “But that was the one thing, he scared us a couple of times, like they’re playing the Shield music and going through the alphabet, and I’m over here looking at Seth like, ‘Uhh, do you know where the fox is?’ The fox is gonna fox. But literally every time it was time to take a step down those stairs, he was always there. And that’s how he was. This guy, we’d be walking through the airport, and he’d just disappear…”

  • WWE CCO Triple H Jokingly Comments On The Idea Of Having One More Match

With the anticipation and excitement heading into the 2025 Royal Rumble event, it’s been a big week for WWE’s CCO and two-time Royal Rumble winner Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who was also announced for the WWE Hall of Fame’s class of 2025. Levesque received the news at a WWE press event with surprise appearances from Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, and at the “Royal Rumble Kickoff,” Levesque was interrupted by an accidental audio error.

“Yeah, I don’t want anybody else’s music, coming up onstage surprising me with something I know nothing about,” Levesque joked. “Also contemplating me, Shawn, and Taker, triple threat at WrestleMania, Wheelchair on a Pole match.” When this received “One More Match” chants, Levesque immediately poured water on any potential flames.

“Look look look, I live for giving you what you want,” he said. “You don’t want that, and neither do we.”

As much as Levesque would love to get back in the ring, his retirement is likely non-negotiable. Following a cardiac event in 2021, Levesque had to have a defibrillator fitted into his chest. He officially retired from in-ring competition days before WrestleMania 38 in 2022, and opened the second night of the event by leaving his boots in the center of the ring.

Levesque opened up about his health event with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith prior to WrestleMania 38. After first dealing with a case of pneumonia where fluid developed in his lungs and arms, Levesque’s heart ejection fraction had severely dropped which put him into near-fatal heart failure. Heart issues are unfortunately common in the Levesque family; his great-grandfather passed in his 50s, his grandfather passed at 70 from heart disease, and his father had a triple bypass in his early 60s.

If you use any quotes from this article, please credit “Royal Rumble Kickoff” with a H/T to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.

In a recent interview, WWE Chief Brand Officer Triple H playfully entertained the idea of stepping back into the ring for one more match. When asked about the possibility of lacing up his boots again, Triple H jokingly replied, “I don’t know, I’m pretty busy running the show now. But hey, never say never, right?”

While it’s clear that Triple H’s focus is now on his role behind the scenes, fans can’t help but dream of seeing “The Game” compete in the squared circle one more time. Whether it’s a dream match against a current WWE Superstar or a nostalgic showdown with a legend from the past, the mere mention of Triple H potentially returning to action has the wrestling world buzzing.

While it’s all in good fun for now, who knows what the future holds for Triple H? Could we see him make a surprise appearance in the ring at a future pay-per-view event?
