Giants RB Reveals Which QB He Wants New York to Pick in NFL Draft
The New York Giants go into the offseason with one key area to address—the quarterback position. The Giants have no quarterbacks under contract on their roster for next season, and will have to add both a starter and backups over the following months.
As the Giants begin the search for their next signal caller, running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. revealed which quarterback he likes most in this year’s draft class.
“To be honest with you, I’m a fan of Cam Ward,” Tracy told Brandon London of the New York Post. “Just because I think the passing and the running, that’s where the league is shifting to, and just off of Dabs’s offense, we have a whole bunch of QB runs and situations where the QB has to run. I’m not saying other quarterbacks in the draft can’t run, I just know Cam Ward is the best off of film. He’s my favorite, this is opinionated … obviously my opinion holds zero weight. It really don’t matter what I say.”
While Tracy was clear that his thoughts hold zero weight in the decision, he did offer insight into what he thinks head coach Brian Daboll will want in the team’s quarterback.
“Whoever comes in, they’re going to have be passionate, just because Dabs is passionate,” Tracy said. “… Whoever he brings in here, he wants a winner, he wants someone that has that high IQ but is also a leader at the same time.”
The Giants hold the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, behind the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, both teams that could draft a quarterback. The Giants have already been seen meeting with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders so far at the East-West Shrine Bowl practices.
This year is widely viewed as a weaker quarterback class, but given the Giants’ current situation and the urgency facing both Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, it’s hard not to see them taking a quarterback near the top of the draft.
In a recent interview, Giants running back Saquon Barkley revealed which quarterback he hopes New York will pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. After careful consideration and evaluation of the top prospects, Barkley expressed his preference for Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence.“I think Trevor Lawrence is a special talent and has all the tools to succeed in the NFL,” Barkley said. “I believe he would be a great fit for our team and could help take us to the next level.”
Barkley’s endorsement of Lawrence could hold weight in the Giants’ decision-making process, as the team looks to solidify their quarterback position for the future. With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, all eyes will be on the Giants to see if they follow Barkley’s advice and select Lawrence with their pick. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

Eli Manning willing to help New York Giants evaluate quarterbacks
The New York Giants enter the offseason with a singular goal in mind: Find the next franchise quarterback.
That player could be signed as a free agent, acquired via trade, or selected in the 2025 NFL draft. There could even be multiple quarterbacks added in an effort to develop one while another serves as a bridge.
However the Giants plan to approach it, retired legend Eli Manning is offering his help in evaluating the many options.
“I like watching film,” Manning said, via the New York Post. “If that’s something I’m wanted for, needed for, be happy to look at film and get involved in that part of it.”
Although Manning still works for the Giants in a business operations and fan engagement role, he is not currently involved in any sort of scouting. However, he has occasionally been asked for his input over the years.
“Yes, I mean a little bit, just over the years, just guys I’ve been around, whether it’s Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss or quarterbacks over the years who have been to the Manning Passing Academy,” he said. “Just what kind of person they are, kind of more off-the-field stuff than maybe on the field.”
Because of the Manning Passing Academy, Eli does have significant firsthand knowledge of most quarterback prospects. At some point or another, many cycle through the academy at least once with several making a multitude of appearances.
That also provides Manning the opportunity to converse with the young quarterbacks who are headed to the NFL. And should the Giants hone in on anyone specific, Manning could get into their ear and help them understand the pressure that comes along with playing in New York.
“It’s not an easy situation,” he said. “A lot of pressure, a lot of expectations and being in New York, really being around the NFL, they expect immediate results, which is not easy to do, in any market playing the quarterback position.
“It will be interesting to see what route they take and who they get to play quarterback next year for the Giants. Hopefully, they can get someone to make a difference. Because you see it this year, when you get a young quarterback playing at a high level, they can make a big difference for an organization.”
Without actually dipping his toe into any scouting waters, Manning admits he has a personal favorite in the upcoming class. Who that player is should come as little surprise.
“I like Jaxson Dart,” Manning said. “I’ve probably watched him more than anybody, just from watching Ole Miss games. I’ve been around him and (he’s) been a great kid, been in the same offense for three years and been successful. Seen him grow and progress and seems to be able to make all the throws.”
Ultimately, Manning says, whoever the Giants decide on must be able to “develop quickly and be effective in the first two years.”
After announcing his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning is not done with the game of football just yet. In a recent interview, Manning expressed his willingness to help his former team, the New York Giants, evaluate quarterbacks for the upcoming season. As a former quarterback for the Giants for 16 seasons, Manning has a wealth of knowledge and experience that could be invaluable in assessing potential draft picks or free agent signings. Manning’s understanding of the game, leadership skills, and ability to read defenses could provide valuable insights for the Giants’ front office as they look to strengthen their quarterback position.
While Manning may not be directly involved in the decision-making process, his input could be a valuable asset for the Giants as they navigate the quarterback landscape. With his dedication to the franchise and desire to see the team succeed, Manning’s willingness to help evaluate quarterbacks demonstrates his continued commitment to the Giants organization.
It remains to be seen how Manning’s involvement will impact the Giants’ quarterback search, but fans can rest assured knowing that one of the greatest quarterbacks in franchise history is willing to lend his expertise to help the team find their next signal-caller.

The Colorado Avalanche (28-20-2) and the New York Rangers (24-20-4) meet Sunday at Madison Square Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Avalanche vs. Rangers odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
Season series: Avalanche lead 1-0; Colorado won 3-2 in overtime at home on Jan. 14 as a moderate favorite (-147) as the Under (6) cashed
The past 5 meetings in this series have either gone to overtime or a shootout since Oct. 25, 2022. The Under has connected in 6 consecutive meetings, too.
The Avalanche traded RW Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. On Saturday in Boston, new center acquisitions Jack Drury and Martin Necas made their debuts in a 3-1 loss. Both players were scoreless, with Necas picking up a minus-3 rating with a hit and 2 blocked shots.
The Avs are 0-2-1 in the past 3 games, while totaling just 4 goals. The Under has cashed in each of the past 3 outings, while the total has gone low at an 8-3 clip in the past 11 games dating back to Jan. 4.
The Rangers are an impressive 7-0-3 across the past 10 games since Jan. 5, including a pair of wins in the past 2 games while outscoring the opposition 11-1.

- Moneyline (ML): Avalanche -105 (bet $105 to win $100) | Rangers -115 (bet $115 to win $100)

- Over/Under (O/U): 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)
Avalanche at Rangers projected goalies
Mac Blackwood (15-13-5, 2.57 GAA, .916 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Igor Shesterkin (17-15-2, 2.72 GAA, .914 SV%, 3 SO)
Blackwood allowed 3 goals on 25 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Winnipeg Jets Wednesday, and he hasn’t won in the past 3 starts. He has not gotten a lot of offensive support lately, with just 9 goals in the past 5 outings (1.8 goals per game). He is still 4-3-2 with a 2.17 GAA and .916 SV% in 8 starts and 1 relief appearance in January.
Shesterkin has won 4 straight starts, including 2 shutouts Jan. 18-21. He is easily having his best stretch of the season in January, going 6-0-1 with 1.39 GAA and .948 SV% in 7 starts. He allowed 3 goals on 26 shots in a 3-2 OT loss on Jan. 14 in Denver.

Avalanche at Rangers picks and predictions
Prediction
Rangers 3, Avalanche 1
Moneyline
The RANGERS (-115) are a strong play at home, as the Avalanche (-105) have the tough turnaround with a second straight matinee game on no rest.
New York is finally playing up to its capabilities, enjoying its best stretch of the season. It is 7-0-3 in the past 10 games, and a major reason for the turnaround has been the play of Shesterkin. New York is 5-0-1 in the past 6 games at Madison Square Garden.
Colorado is 0-2-1 in the past 3 games, while going just 4-5-2 in the previous 11 outings. It’s a major reason the Avalanche decided to shake things up and acquire the likes of Drury and Necas for the stretch run.
Puck line/Against the spread
If you’re a little more adventurous, forget the moneyline and go for RANGERS -1.5 (+220) for the chance to more than double up.
Again, remember that last week the first meeting went to overtime, and each of the past 5 meetings haven’t been decided in regulation. So, there is plenty of risk playing New York. However, it has covered the puck line as a favorite in each of the past 2 games, while going 4-2 in the past 6 when favored.
Over/Under
UNDER 5.5 (+100) is the lean, but go very lightly.
The Under has cashed in 6 consecutive meetings since Dec. 14, 2021, including the 3-2 OT win by the Avalanche on Jan. 14.
The total has gone low at a 5-3 clip in the past 8 games for the Rangers, as Shesterkin is playing tremendous goal in the month of January.
For the Avs, the Under has hit in 3 in a row, while going 8-3 across the previous 11 outings.

The new-look Colorado Avalanche made the first stop on a three-game Eastern Conference road trip on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 in Boston. The Avalanche led 1-0 through two periods, but fell apart in the third period with three goals allowed. Jack Drury and Martin Necas, acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night for Mikko Rantanen, were each scoreless in their team debut. In fact, Necas took a minus-3 with two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a hit in 25:08 of ice time. The Avalanche were very physical, but they lacked much offense. The Avs are 0-2-1 in the past three games, posting a total of four goals.
The Rangers fell 3-2 in overtime at Ball Arena on Jan. 14 in the first meeting, as Mackenzie Blackwood and the Avs did just enough to ease by Igor Shesterkin and the Blueshirts. Devon Toews deposited the winner in overtime. Rantanen had an assist in regulation, but he is now obviously gone. The last time the Avs played on no rest Jan. 9, they won 6-1 in Minnesota after a loss in Chicago. They’re 3-2-0 in five games on no rest this season, but they’ve won the past three tries. Colorado runs into a Rangers team started to finally awaken from its slumber. New York is 7-0-3 in the past 10 games, and it has outscored Philadelphia and Ottawa 11-1 in the past two games. Despite the success of the Avs recently when playing on no rest, back Shesty and the Rangers Sunday.
Rangers ML (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to -120.
The Colorado Avalanche will face off against the New York Rangers in an exciting NHL matchup. Both teams have been performing well this season, making this game a must-watch for hockey fans. The Avalanche have been on a hot streak, with a record of 9-4-1 so far this season. Led by star players Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, Colorado has been dominant on both ends of the ice. Their high-powered offense has been scoring goals at an impressive rate, while their defense has been shutting down opponents.
On the other hand, the Rangers have also been playing well, with a record of 8-3-3. Led by Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad, New York has been a tough team to beat. Their strong defensive play and solid goaltending have been key factors in their success this season.
In terms of odds, the Avalanche are currently favored to win this matchup. However, the Rangers have been known to pull off upsets, so this game could go either way.
Our prediction for this game is that the Avalanche will come out on top in a close matchup. With their high-powered offense and strong defense, we believe Colorado will be able to edge out the Rangers in this game.
Picks: Colorado Avalanche.

#Colorado #Avalanche #York #Rangers #Prediction #Odds #PicksPreview: Avs search for answers in New York against the Rangers
The Colorado Avalanche are on a skid and are desperate for wins and power play success after dropping the last three games and being one for their last 26 chances with a man advantage. It’s been a crazy 72 hours for Colorado, who will see the second installment of the new-look Avalanche and their freshly acquired forwards Martin Necas and Jack Drury. The Rangers are starting to find their game after a tumultuous start but are still 10 points out of third place in the division. Can Colorado seal the series sweep, or will the Rangers continue the mile-high suffering?
Colorado Avalanche
It’s almost impossible not to think or talk about who won’t be on the ice for the Avalanche today, but let’s try and focus on who will bear the burgundy and blue. The Colorado Avalanche activated Miles Wood today, and it appears he will return to the bottom six. Jack Drury was skating with the third line and the other two members of the “roaring 20s line,” and I think that will continue. That leaves a 4th line role for Miles Wood at 2.5M AAV.
There aren’t many ‘must-win’ games late in January, but this feels like one for the Avalanche. The trade is one thing, but should they follow it up by matching the season’s longest losing streak? That can’t happen.
Projected Lineup:
Jonathan Drouin — Nathan MacKinnon — Martin Necas
Juuso Parssinen — Casey Mittelstadt — Artturi Lehkonen
Ross Colton — Jack Drury — Logan O’Connor
Joel Kiviranta — Parker Kelly — Chris WagnerDevon Toews — Cale Makar
Samuel Girard — Josh Manson
Keaton Middleton — Sam MalinskiNew York Rangers
Some might point to the Rangers as an example of what happens when you pay one player too much, as they have inked Igor Shestirken for a hefty price tag and aren’t the same team we’ve seen in years past. It’s been a tough year for Mika Zibanajed and Chris Kreider, who seemed poised to make another playoff push this past offseason. Now it feels like they will be very fortunate to steal a wild card spot in the east, and they might be sellers by the deadline.
Projected Lineup:
Artemi Panarin — Vincent Trocheck — Alexis Lafrenière
Will Cuylle — Mika Zibanejad — Reilly Smith
Chris Kreider — Filip Chytil — Arthur Kaliyev
Adam Edstrom — Jonny Brodzinski — Matt RempeRyan Lindgren — Adam Fox
K’Andre Miller — Will Borgen
Urho Vaakanainen — Braden SchneiderGoaltenders
It should be best on best, and that means Shesterkin vs. Blackwood! Hopefully, the Avs can solve Igor early and get out on the front foot. Let’s get Necas on the board too!
The Colorado Avalanche are heading to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers in search of answers as they look to bounce back from a recent slump. With a talented roster that includes the likes of Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Gabriel Landeskog, the Avs are hoping to find their winning form once again. The Rangers, on the other hand, have been playing solid hockey as of late and will look to continue their success on home ice. Led by Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider, New York will be a tough test for the struggling Avalanche.
It will be a battle of two talented teams looking to prove themselves in this early season matchup. Can the Avs find the answers they need to get back on track? Or will the Rangers continue their winning ways? Be sure to tune in to find out.

The Colorado Avalanche will take on the New York Rangers in an exciting NHL matchup. Both teams have been playing well this season and are looking to secure a win in this game. The Avalanche have been dominant this season, currently holding the top spot in the Central Division. Led by star players like Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, the Avalanche have one of the most potent offenses in the league. Their top-ranked power play and strong defense make them a formidable opponent for any team.
The Rangers, on the other hand, have been playing solid hockey as well. With players like Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider leading the charge, the Rangers have a strong offense that can put up goals in a hurry. Their goaltending has been solid as well, with Igor Shesterkin standing tall between the pipes.
In terms of odds, the Avalanche are favored to win this game. Their strong play and depth make them a tough team to beat. However, the Rangers have the ability to pull off an upset if they can capitalize on their scoring opportunities and play solid defense.
My prediction for this game is that the Avalanche will come out on top with a close victory. I expect a high-scoring game with both teams putting up a good fight. As for picks, I would take the Avalanche to win and the over on the total goals scored.
Overall, this should be an exciting matchup between two talented teams. Make sure to tune in and see who comes out on top in this battle on the ice.

Josh Hart ACTIVE For New York Knicks vs. Sacramento Kings
The New York Knicks will have a Hart for their return to action.
Josh Hart is in the starting lineup for Saturday’s interconference showdown with the Sacramento Kings (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG) after appearing on the team’s injury report. Hart was originally listed as probable due to knee soreness.
It has, of course, been customary to see Hart on the floor for the Knicks but there were probably some lingering concerns considering the slight change in designation: Hart briefly left last week’s game against Minnesota with an apparent upper-body injury and later appeared on the medical report for the two games due to reported neck woes.
Hart, however, is ready to take the floor as the Knicks (29-16) return to action after a few days off. New York is looking for its first three-game winning streak since getting nine a row during the holiday season. He has been a major spark plug for the Knicks this season, averaging career-bests of 14 points and 9.6 rebounds as New York places third on the current Eastern Conference ledger.
On the other side, De’Aaron Fox appears in the Kings’ starting lineup despite dealing with a sprained right thumb, which, ironically enough, was the same ailment that kept Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns out for two games last week.
Exciting news for New York Knicks fans! Josh Hart has been activated and will be suiting up for tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Hart, who has been dealing with a knee injury, is finally ready to make his return to the court. The versatile guard brings a strong defensive presence and solid shooting ability to the Knicks lineup, adding depth and experience to the team. His presence will surely be a boost for the Knicks as they look to secure a win against the Kings.
Be sure to tune in to tonight’s game to see Josh Hart back in action and cheering on the Knicks as they take on the Sacramento Kings. Let’s go Knicks! #NYK #JoshHart #NBA #KnicksVsKings
