  • Zay Flowers Inactive for Ravens Playoff Game vs. Bills

The Ravens will be without top wide receiver Zay Flowers for Sunday night’s Divisional playoff game in Buffalo.

Flowers, who didn’t practice all week, was doubtful heading into the game and will miss a second straight playoff game after suffering a knee injury in the regular-season finale.

In addition to Flowers, the Ravens’ other inactives are as follows:

The Ravens adjusted well without Flowers, a Pro Bowler with 1,059 receiving yards this season, last week against the Steelers. Baltimore leaned more heavily on their tight ends and extra linemen in a run-heavy approach.

Baltimore could do so again versus the Bills. Flowers only had one catch for 10 yards in the Ravens’ 35-10 win over the Bills in Week 4.

Rashod Bateman, who has five touchdowns over the Ravens’ past four games, could also see more action as Baltimore’s No. 1 wide receiver.

The Ravens opted to activate Keaton Mitchell as their No. 3 running back again over Ali. They did not move Deonte Harty to the 53-man roster, meaning Steven Sims is likely expected to handle punt return duties again.

There’s a light snow falling at Highmark Stadium during “warmups” with around 20-degree temperatures, but the precipitation is expected to pass and temperatures aren’t slated to plummet as it turns dark. There is not much wind.

Bills backup running back Ray Davis, who was dealing with a concussion, will play. Davis had 442 rushing yards and five total touchdowns this season. Buffalo is totally healthy entering the game.

The Baltimore Ravens will be without wide receiver Zay Flowers for their upcoming playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

Flowers, who has been dealing with a knee injury, was listed as inactive for the game. The absence of Flowers is a blow to the Ravens’ offense, as he has been a key playmaker for the team this season.

Despite Flowers’ absence, the Ravens will look to rely on their other weapons on offense to step up and contribute in his absence. The team will need a strong performance from their receiving corps to help quarterback Lamar Jackson and the offense put up points against a tough Bills defense.

It remains to be seen how long Flowers will be out with his injury, but Ravens fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery so he can return to the field as soon as possible. In the meantime, the team will have to adjust and adapt without one of their top playmakers in the lineup.

  • Ravens WR Zay Flowers is inactive vs. Bills

Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers went through a pregame test of his injured knee, but team decision-makers didn’t see enough for him to play today.

Flowers is among the Ravens’ inactives.

Flowers has not practiced or played since injuring his knee on his 14th snap in a Week 18 win over the Browns.

He made 74 catches for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season.

Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman, Steven Sims, Devontez Walker, and Tylan Wallace are the other receivers on the active roster. The Ravens also called up Anthony Miller from the practice squad for today’s game.

The Ravens’ other inactives are free safety Beau Brade, running back Rasheen Ali, free safety Marcus Williams, outside linebacker Adisa Isaac, center Nick Samac and nose tackle Josh Tupou.

The Bills’ inactives are returner Brandon Codrington, cornerback Kaiir Elam, offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, wide receiver Jalen Virgil, defensive lineman DeWayne Carter, quarterback Mike White and offensive lineman Ryan Van Demark. White will serve as the emergency third quarterback.

The Baltimore Ravens will be without wide receiver Zay Flowers for their game against the Buffalo Bills. Flowers, who was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad earlier this season, has yet to make his NFL debut. Despite showing promise in practices, Flowers will have to wait a little longer to showcase his skills on the field. The Ravens will look to other receivers to step up in his absence and help secure a crucial victory against the Bills. #Ravens #ZayFlowers #NFL #Bills

  • NFL injury tracker, divisional round: Zay Flowers ‘doubtful’ vs. Bills, Rams’ Ahkello Witherspoon expected to play

With a series of heavy-duty matchups in the NFL Divisional Round of the playoffs, a few teams will be shorthanded on the injury front.

The Baltimore Ravens are set to take on the Buffalo Bills in a high-stakes divisional matchup — and they will likely be doing it without their star receiver. Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers missed practice again on Friday and has been deemed doubtful for Sunday’s matchup.

Flowers suffered a knee injury during the regular season finale two weeks ago, and has not returned to practice since. He missed all of last week, including the Ravens’ Wild Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the injury, and looks set to do it again this week.

The Ravens had been initially optimistic about Flowers’ injury, with head coach John Harbaugh telling reporters initially that the injury was “day-to-day” but not season-ending.

Despite Harbaugh telling reporters Friday, “I think he’ll have a chance,” it appears they will be without Flowers for a second straight playoff game.

Rams cornerback and defensive playmaker Ahkello Witherspoon was a limited participant in Friday’s practice after sitting out Thursday’s session. He was listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.

However, head coach Sean McVay expects the eight-year veteran to play in Sunday’s divisional round matchup with the Eagles.

Witherspoon, 29, injured his thigh in the third quarter of the Rams’ wild-card playoff game versus the Vikings. He pulled up while pursuing Minnesota’s T.J. Hockenson on a 26-yard touchdown.

Prior to leaving the game, Witherspoon forced a fumble and registered three tackles with one tackle for loss and a quarterback hit. The Rams recently made him a starter in place of Cobie Durant opposite Darious Williams in the secondary.

In the regular season, Witherspoon had 31 tackles with one interception and nine passes defensed in 13 games (five starts). He’s in his second season with the Rams.

Here’s the rest of the divisional round injury report.

    Inactives for Saturday’s games

    • TE Teagan Quitoriano

    • RB J.J. Taylor

    • LB Devin White

Injuries can play a major role in determining the outcome of NFL playoff games, and the divisional round is no exception. Here’s the latest on key players dealing with injuries heading into this weekend’s matchups:

    – Zay Flowers, wide receiver for the New England Patriots, is listed as ‘doubtful’ for Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Flowers suffered a knee injury in the Patriots’ wild-card win over the Bills and has been limited in practice this week. His absence would be a significant blow to New England’s passing attack.

    – On the other side of the ball, the Los Angeles Rams are expected to have cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon available for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Witherspoon has been dealing with a thigh injury but is on track to play in a crucial matchup against Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions.

Stay tuned for further updates on these and other key injuries as we get closer to kickoff in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

  • Zay Flowers out of practice again on Friday

It looks like the Ravens are going to be without wide receiver Zay Flowers again this Sunday.

Flowers missed the team’s playoff opener with a knee injury and he did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Reporters at the open portion of Friday’s practice shared that Flowers remained off the field for the team’s final session ahead of Sunday’s game against the Bills.

The Ravens will announce official injury designations later on Friday, but it’s hard to imagine that Flowers will be cleared to play after so much time off of the field.

Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman, Steven Sims, Devontez Walker, and Tylan Wallace are the other receivers on the active roster. The Ravens called up Anthony Miller from the practice squad last weekend and he’ll likely come up again to provide extra help.

Zay Flowers out of practice again on Friday

Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers was once again absent from practice on Friday, raising concerns about his availability for this weekend’s game. Flowers, who has been dealing with a lingering injury, has missed several practices in recent weeks and his status for the upcoming matchup remains uncertain.

Flowers, a key playmaker for the Eagles, has been a standout performer this season with his speed and agility on the field. His absence would be a significant blow to the team’s offensive firepower.

Head coach Jeff Hafley has yet to provide an update on Flowers’ condition, leaving fans and teammates wondering if they will see him suit up on game day. With a tough opponent on the schedule, BC will need all hands on deck to secure a victory.

Stay tuned for further updates on Zay Flowers’ status as game day approaches.

  • NFL injury tracker, divisional round: Zay Flowers ‘doubtful’ vs. Bills, David Montgomery ‘so happy’ to be back

David Montgomery was a full participant in practice this week for the Detroit Lions and will be ready to go when they face the Washington Commanders on Saturday.

Montgomery injured his MCL in Week 15 and was feared to have been lost for the rest of the season. While surgery was an option, the running back sought other opinions and decided to rehab his knee, giving himself the best chance to return during the playoffs.

“It’s refreshing,” Montgomery said this week, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “Kind of to be back in the position to where I can help the team, yeah, I missed it, so happy to be back.”

After a rigorous rehab, Montgomery is confident his knee is 100% and that he “wouldn’t be out there if I wasn’t ready.”

As part of the running back tag-team of “Sonic and Knuckles” with Jahmyr Gibbs, Montgomery recorded 775 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns during the regular season.

Here’s the rest of the divisional round injury report. (Players will be added as teams release their reports.)

    • TE Teagan Quitoriano (calf): out

    • LB Azeez Al-Shaair (knee): questionable

    • RB Joe Mixon (ankle): questionable

    • WR Robert Woods (hip): questionable

In this week’s NFL injury tracker for the divisional round, we have updates on two key players.

First up, Zay Flowers of the New England Patriots is listed as ‘doubtful’ for the upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills. Flowers has been dealing with a lower body injury and his status for the game remains uncertain. The Patriots will have to monitor his progress closely leading up to kickoff.

On a more positive note, Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery is back and ready to go after missing some time due to injury. Montgomery expressed his excitement to be back on the field and help his team in their playoff push. His return will surely provide a boost to the Bears’ offense.

As the divisional round approaches, stay tuned for more updates on player injuries and their impact on the upcoming games.

  • Ravens list WR Zay Flowers (knee) as doubtful vs. Bills

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens did not rule out Zay Flowers for Sunday’s divisional playoff game at the Buffalo Bills, listing him as doubtful even though the Pro Bowl wide receiver did not practice all week.

“I think he’ll have a chance,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said after Friday’s practice.

Flowers hasn’t practiced since injuring his right knee during Baltimore’s regular-season finale on Jan. 4 against the Cleveland Browns. He was the only Ravens player who did not participate in Friday’s practice.

But Flowers is making progress. He held a workout before Friday’s practice where he did some running while wearing a brace. The Ravens later posted part of that workout on their social media, which is something the team doesn’t typically do.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said it would be a “huge challenge” if Flowers can’t play.

“He is a guy that has been with us all season long [and has] been making things happen for us,” Jackson said, “What he brings to the game — we’re going to miss that. But we have guys who are locked in and are ready to step up to the plate for us.”

In his second season, Flowers led Baltimore with 74 receptions and 1,059 receiving yards. With Flowers sidelined in the wild-card round, Jackson completed 16 of 21 passes (76.1%) for 175 yards passing and two touchdowns in a 28-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jackson spread the ball around, completing multiple passes to five different players.

If Flowers can’t play, it will mark the first time that he will miss consecutive games.

“Hopefully, Zay will be able to go, but if not, we have a lot of really good players,” Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said. “We’re fortunate. We have a lot of really good players, and we anticipate them playing well.”

The Baltimore Ravens have listed wide receiver Zay Flowers as doubtful for their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills. Flowers is dealing with a knee injury that has limited his ability to practice this week. This could be a significant blow to the Ravens’ passing game, as Flowers has been a key contributor this season. Stay tuned for further updates on his status as game day approaches. #Ravens #ZayFlowers #InjuryUpdate #NFL

Star WR Zay Flowers exits in the 2nd quarter for Baltimore with a right knee injury

BALTIMORE — Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers left Baltimore’s game against Cleveland on Saturday with a right knee injury.

The second-year receiver began grabbing at his right leg after a short catch-and-run in the second quarter. It appeared he may have been hit on the knee by Cleveland’s Mohamoud Diabate. Flowers was eventually able to get up and walk gingerly off the field, but the injury is a concern for the playoff-bound Ravens.

Flowers has given Baltimore much-needed production from the receiver spot this season, catching 74 passes for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns. The 5-foot-9 Flowers occasionally puts his shiftiness to use in the running game as well.

In a devastating blow to the Baltimore offense, star wide receiver Zay Flowers was forced to exit the game in the 2nd quarter with a right knee injury. Flowers, who has been a key playmaker for the team all season, was seen limping off the field with trainers by his side.

The loss of Flowers is sure to have a significant impact on the Ravens’ passing game, as he has been a reliable target for quarterback Lamar Jackson. His speed and agility have made him a difficult matchup for opposing defenses, and his absence will be sorely felt.

As Flowers heads to the locker room for further evaluation, fans are left hoping for the best but fearing the worst. Updates on his condition are sure to come in the coming days, but for now, the Ravens will have to find a way to adjust and continue their push for a playoff spot without one of their top offensive weapons.

Zay Flowers injury update: Ravens WR suffers leg injury vs. Browns

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers needed medical attention for an apparent leg injury during the second quarter of Saturday’s clash with the Cleveland Browns.

The second-year receiver had caught a short pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson and ran down to the Cleveland 12-yard line. After he was already on the ground, Flowers appeared to get hit on the inside of his knee by a falling Browns defender. The receiver remained down and grabbed at his knee, rocking back and forth in apparent pain.

Baltimore’s medical personnel tended to the receiver on the field before he walked off under his own power and headed to the blue medical tent.

Flowers eventually headed back to the locker room, and the Ravens announced he is questionable to return.

This story will be updated as information becomes available.

After being the first receiver named to the Pro Bowl in franchise history, Flowers will look to build some momentum going into the playoffs against the Cleveland Browns in Week 18. The last time the two teams faced off in Week 8, he finished as a WR2, and they’ll be without Denzel Ward (shoulder) while Grant Delpit is playing through shoulder and knee injuries. In Week 18, Flowers is facing off against a tough defense, but his speed and agility make him a threat to break out for a big play at any moment. With his ability to create separation and make defenders miss, Flowers has the potential to put up solid numbers and help lead your team to victory.

While there may be some risk involved in starting Flowers in Week 18, his upside is undeniable. If you’re in need of a spark in your lineup, consider rolling the dice on Zay Flowers and trusting in his playmaking abilities.
