Taylor Swift Expected at Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl-Deciding Game Against Buffalo Bills

Skip Bayless might want to skip today’s AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. The commentator, who appeared shocked last weekend that Taylor Swift was in the stands for the Chiefs’ triumph over the Houston Texans, will likely be knocked for a loop again today. The singer is widely anticipated to return to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to watch her boyfriend/Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce play in today’s crucial match, which will determine one of the contenders for Super Bowl 59.

Today’s playoff game is likely a tense situation for fans. Red Coaters are hopeful their team will make it to a stunning fifth Super Bowl in six years, while the Bills Mafia is holding out hope that their beloved underdogs will derail the Chiefs’ plan to become the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row.

But those who tune in to see Taylor Swift in the stands have less nail-biting to do. During last year’s AFC Championship face-off between the Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, Swift was in the midst of rehearsals for the Japanese leg of her lengthy Eras Tour. Fans were surprised to see her at Maryland’s M&T Bank Stadium for the game—which, as you might recall, was capped off with an on-field clinch between Swift and Kelce that was seen around the world.

But this year, with the Eras Tour over, Swift presumably has a calendar with fewer hard-and-set dates. This year, frantic globe-crossing flights are unnecessary, and as long as Swift’s security team deems a venue safe, she’s likely to roll into a game.

For most of the season, Swift has attended home games but skipped away match-ups to ensure everyone’s well-being. This isn’t hyperbole: A Swift show was credibly identified as the site of an abortive terror plot last summer; a tense safety situation intensified by now-President Donald Trump’s social media announcement “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Those worries certainly raise questions about Swift’s ability to attend Super Bowl LIX, should she have reason to do so. The 59th Super Bowl will be played on February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city that’s seen its own share of Trump-adjacent troubles this month.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves quite yet, as the Chiefs still have to best the Bills to make that much of an issue.
