TAMPA, Fla. – The 18-year-old accused of shooting an off-duty ATF agent outside a bowling alley, leaving him severely injured, was denied bond Thursday morning.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Smith opened fire last Friday night during a fight outside The Alley at Southshore off Big Bend Rd.
Deputies said the agent, later identified by the Sun Coast Police Benevolent Association as Matt Murray, was there with his family and tried to break up the fight in the moments leading to the shooting.

Investigators arrested Smith at a nearby home about seven hours after the shooting, HCSO said.
Smith faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
