People watch as the new year is brought in with a firework show Dec. 31, 2015, during the Countdown in Hollywood New Year’s Eve party at the Provo Recreation Center.

New Year’s Day is fast approaching, ringing in 2025 and signifying the quarter mark of the century.

The buildup to the calendar change will be celebrated with a number of New Year’s Eve events across Utah County on Tuesday, ranging from full-scale dance parties to family affairs and fireworks shows.

Here are six activities to consider when making celebration plans:

  • Provo Circus Countdown: The Provo Recreation Center will hold a New Year’s Eve party Tuesday night designed to entertain both families with bedtimes and residents ready to stay out late. Dubbed the 2025 Circus Countdown, the party will have two fireworks shows — one at 9 p.m. and another at midnight — and includes a plethora of other activities like an acrobatic show, jump houses, laser tag, silent disco and a hypnotist. Tickets are $10.
  • Provo’s Countdown NYE: Provo Towne Centre will host Countdown NYE, an inaugural event hosted by The Tribe and Overtime. The 18-and-older party is being pitched as a festival-grade production, with a 50-foot-tall stage, photo booths and a VIP area. General admission tickets are $19.50.
  • New Year’s Eve at Luminaria: The Luminaria Christmas light show at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi will have some extracurriculars for its New Year’s Eve presentation. Weather permitting, the venue will hold a fireworks and ice show at 8 p.m. in conjunction with the music and light show. Tickets are $27 for adults and $20 for kids.
  • Noon Year’s Eve: Provo Beach will host its annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration while the sun is still up Tuesday. Going from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the free event will have a live DJ, a reptiles show, face painting and a balloon drop at noon.
  • New Year’s Eve Party at the Owl Bar: Head up the Alpine Loop to ring in the new year in a unique way at Sundance Ski Resort’s Owl Bar from 9 p.m. to midnight. Billed as a “boot-scootin’, honky tonk” celebration, guests are invited to wear their best Western wear and participate in a night of “toe-tappin’, whiskey-drinkin’ fun.” People 21 and older are invited and the cover fee is $15.
  • New Year’s “Decades” Dance: The Angelus Theatre in Spanish Fork will be playing dancing tunes from across the last 100 years for its New Year’s Eve dance party. With food and drinks provided and an award show celebrating local theater, the party will go from 9 p.m. to midnight and tickets are $15.
