The Detroit Tigers have added a right-handed hitting infielder Gleyber Torres from the New York Yankees.
Torres has agreed to a free-agent contract with the Tigers, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the agreement. The deal is pending a physical exam, but it’s expected to become official later Friday morning.
The terms of the deal are unknown.
Torres, 28, hit .257 with 15 home runs, 65 walks and 136 strikeouts in 154 games for the New York Yankees in the 2024 season. He spent the entire season at second base.
