WASHINTON ― President-elect Donald Trump is holding a “victory rally” in Washington for supporters the day before Inauguration Day when he will be sworn in as the 47th president.
The rally at Capital One Arena is set for Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. ET, according to a sign-up sheet that bills the event as a “victory rally you’ll never forget!”
It will mark the first time Trump has headlined a rally since his election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in November. Capital One Arena, home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards and NHL’s Washington Capitals, has a capacity of about 20,000 people.

A joint session of Congress will meet Jan. 6 to count the electoral votes certifying Trump’s victory four years after a mob of Trump supporters violently attacked the Capitol in protest of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory against Trump. Biden has said he will attend Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony even though Trump skipped Biden’s inauguration in 2021.

President Trump has announced plans to hold a “victory rally” in Washington D.C. ahead of Inauguration Day. The rally, scheduled for January 19th, is expected to draw thousands of supporters as the outgoing president prepares to leave office.
Despite the outcome of the election, Trump has remained steadfast in his claims of victory and continues to dispute the results. The rally is seen as a way for him to energize his base and rally support for his future endeavors.
Security measures are expected to be heightened for the event, as tensions remain high in the wake of the Capitol riots earlier this month. Authorities are bracing for potential unrest and violence, and have urged attendees to remain peaceful.
As Trump’s presidency draws to a close, all eyes will be on Washington as the nation prepares for a new era with the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20th. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
