This is one of those items that's super simple yet almost impossible to find in a hurry. Back in the days when we rode dinosaurs to school, we would run out to Radio Shack to buy one of these if we needed it. But there hasn't been a Radio Shack (or pretty much any other electronics store) anywhere near me in a decade. Heck, even 3.5mm audio plugs are a rarity these days with the advent of Bluetooth headsets.
But my tablet, desktop, laptop, MP3 player, etc. all still use 3.5mm hard-wired audio jacks, and every once in a great while I want to share the audio output with someone. This solves that problem.
The quality is good, certainly good enough for any use that I'll give it. The jacks claim to be gold plated and the wires oxygen-free copper. Are they? No idea. But they look fine, they work fine, and they're certainly higher in quality than a couple I've bodged together from spare parts in the past. Those were UGLY.
For less than $7 I have a solution that I won't use every day, but that will be there when I need it. One less thing to worry about.
