ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan men’s basketball team (9-3; 2-0 B1G) will complete its non-conference schedule hosting Western Kentucky (9-3; 0-0 C-USA) on Sunday (Dec. 29) at 8 p.m. Part of a Big Ten Network quintuple schedule, the Maize and Blue are the final men’s game of the night. The BTN broadcast crew is comprised of James Ross Jr. and Austin Johnson.

Notes

• Michigan closes its non-conference slate against Western Kentucky — the first series meeting in 17 years. U-M is 3-2 all-time however the Wolverines have lost the last two with the Big Red.

• U-M’s battle with Western Kentucky is the finale of a quintuple of Sunday games on the Big Ten Network. After five men’s games, the Sunday slate of games will end with a Maize & Blue doubleheader as Kim Barnes Arico‘s 23rd-ranked Wolverines take on fourth-ranked USC and JuJu Watkins at 7 p.m. PST (10 p.m. EST) from the Galen Center.

• Michigan has lost its three games by a total of five points. U-M fell against Wake Forest by two (72-70; Nov. 10 in the Deacon-Wolverine Challenge), Arkansas by two (89-87; Dec. 10 at the Jimmy V Classic) and No. 14 Oklahoma by one (87-86; Dec. 18 at the Jumpman Invitational).

Justin Pippen had a career day in U-M’s win over Purdue Fort Wayne. He finished with career-bests for points (10), rebounds (4), assists (2) and minutes (19).

• With six straight double-figure games, including three of 20-plus, including a career-best 26 points vs. No. 14 Oklahoma. In his last six games, Vladislav Goldin has averaged 19.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks. He has shot 73.8 percent from the floor and made his first career three-pointer.

Danny Wolf has nearly matched Goldin over his last six games. Wolf has averaged 14.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals. He has shot 62.5 percent from the floor, making seven of his nine three-pointers.

• Michigan has four players averaging 11+ points per game: Goldin (164 points; 13.7 ppg); Roddy Gayle Jr. (150 points; 12.5 ppg); Tre Donaldson (148 points; 12.3 ppg) and Wolf (142 points; 11.8 ppg).

• With seven double-figure rebounding games, Wolf averages a double-double with 11.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He leads U-M with five double-doubles including three in his last six games.
