ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The 20th-ranked University of Michigan men’s basketball team (13-3, 5-0 Big Ten) heads back out on the road heading to Minneapolis for a Thursday (Jan. 16) battle with Minnesota (8-9, 0-6 Big Ten) at Williams Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST on FS1.

Notes

• Michigan returns to Williams Arena for the first time since Dec. 8, 2022. A win would mark the 100th win in the series for the Wolverines. U-M is 2-3 over its last five at Williams Arena, but it is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.

• Michigan is shooting a nation- and Big Ten-best 51.9 percent from the field. Vladislav Goldin‘s 69.2 shooting percentage leads the Big Ten and ranks fourth nationally. Overall, five Wolverines are shooting better than 50 percent from the field.

• After five straight games of 10-plus three-pointers, U-M has produced 65 of its 157 three-pointers during this stretch — including tying the program record with 19 against Western Kentucky. Nimari Burnett (35) and Tre Donaldson (31) lead U-M from long range.

• Scoring in double figures in six of his last seven games, Burnett’s 10.9-point average makes it five Wolverines averaging double figures. U-M’s starting five has spread out leading the Wolverines in scoring — Goldin (seven times), Burnett, Roddy Gayle Jr. and Danny Wolf (three times each) and Donaldson (one).

• Michigan has lost its three games by a total of five points. U-M fell to Wake Forest by two (72-70; Nov. 10 in the Deacon-Wolverine Challenge), Arkansas by two (89-87; Dec. 10 at the Jimmy V Classic) and #14 Oklahoma by one (87-86; Dec. 18 at the Jumpman Invitational).

• Michigan’s win over No. 22 UCLA was the third over a nationally ranked opponent and third on the road — vs. No. 22 Xavier (Fort Myers Tip-Off), at No. 11 Wisconsin and at No. 22 UCLA.

• Goldin, who was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Monday (Jan. 13), has scored in double figures in 10 straight games and has at least one block in 14 consecutive games. He leads U-M with 15.4 points per game.

• In his last two games, Burnett is 11-for-12 (91.6 percent) from the floor and 7-for-8 (87.5 percent) from long range. Will Tschetter has gone 12-for-12 at the free-throw line since Thanksgiving. He is 17-for-20 (85.0 percent) for the season.
