UWF Notice: UWF Closed Jan. 21-22 for Winter Weather

Update 2 – Jan. 20, 2025

Due to the projected extreme winter weather conditions, all UWF locations will close Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22. This includes all classes, events, campus activities and online courses. Normal University operations, classes, events and campus activities will resume on Thursday, January 23, unless conditions change, in which case, University officials will notify all students, faculty and staff.

According to the most recent update from the National Weather Service, the Pensacola area is expected to have bitter cold weather conditions Monday, January 20, to Wednesday, January 22, and receive up to three inches of snow Tuesday morning through early Tuesday evening. Students, faculty and staff are advised to use their best judgment when traveling during freezing weather conditions.

As local school districts close for winter weather, the University understands this may affect employees and students with children in school. If you are impacted by a local school closure, please contact your supervisor or instructor.

Faculty and Staff: Essential personnel will be notified by their supervisor if there is a need to report to work.

Weather information is available by tuning into WUWF at 88.1FM or online at wuwf.org. Updates from the National Weather Service are available at weather.gov/mob and twitter.com/NWSMobile.
