REDDING, Calif. — A Shasta County man, wanted on several outstanding warrants, was arrested on Tuesday morning following a high-speed chase spanning over 20 miles and lasting for over four hours.
Just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) attempted to stop a vehicle near Cloverdale Road and Oak Street in the Happy Valley area. The SCSO said the driver, identified as wanted man Anthony Esquaville, 40, failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated.

Officials said Esquaville led officers on a dangerous pursuit across western Shasta county, driving at excessive speeds, on the wrong side of the road, and through several private ranches.
The California Highway Patrol used their helicopters, H-14, to track Eaquaville’s location throughout the chase, according to the SCSO.
The pursuit came to an end when the SCSO said Esquaville’s vehicle became disabled on a ranch near McAuliffe Road and Bland Road. They said he was taken into custody without further incident.
