Watch Anya Taylor-Joy Kiss Her Husband Malcolm McRae At Midnight on New Year’s Eve

Anya Taylor-Joy had a magical moment with her husband Malcolm McRae on New Year’s Eve.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1, Taylor-Joy, 28, shared a video to Instagram capturing the scene from her New Year’s Eve celebrations — the video caught revelers dancing and celebrating at an outdoor location as fireworks went off in the background, and as the camera panned, Taylor-Joy was seen locking lips with McRae, 30, at midnight in celebration of the new year.

“Swoooon,” Taylor-Joy wrote in a caption to her video. “Happy New years everyone :)”

The Furiosa star’s post also included a photo of what appeared to be the footwear she and her friends wore to celebrate New Year’s Eve outdoors, as well as dirt and grime each shoe collected along the way. McRae, whom Taylor-Joy has been married to since April 2022, left a simple comment on her post and shared just a balloon emoji: “.”

Taylor-Joy only revealed her marriage to McRae, a musician and actor, on April 2, 2024, when she shared images from the couple’s secret wedding in New Orleans on April 1, 2022. While the pair held a separate wedding in Venice, Italy, in October 2023, with stars like Miles Teller, Julia Garner, Cara Delevingne, Nicolas Hoult and Evan Ross in attendance, Taylor-Joy wrote back in April that she holds fond memories of the couple’s 2022 nuptials.

“The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever,” Taylor-Joy wrote of that first wedding on Instagram back in April. “Happy second ( first ) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest”

The couple, who coincidentally share an April 26 birthday, met in March 2021 at the premiere for her Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. Days later, McRae wrote a song about his future wife titled “Really Want to See You Again.”

Taylor-Joy and McRae occasionally share peeks into their life together on social media. Back in October, McRae shared a photo of himself with Taylor-Joy and wrote in the caption that he simply missed his wife while the couple were spending time apart for work. 

“I miss my wife when we have to work in different cities and I like this photo of us from a bit ago,” McRae wrote in a caption to his post. Taylor-Joy shared dozens of emojis showing anatomically accurate hearts in a comment on that post as her response.
