After dropping their fifth consecutive game, Iowa women’s basketball (12-7, 2-6 Big Ten) will end their losing skid today with their first-ever Big Ten matchup vs. Washington (13-6, 4-3 Big Ten) from Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash.
Through 19 games, the Hawkeyes are averaging 74.2 points per game on 45.8% from the floor, 31.9% from deep, and 70.6% from the charity stripe.
Defensively, Iowa is forcing 16.1 turnovers per game, including 7.2 steals and 3.8 blocks per contest.
Unfortunately for the Hawkeyes over their previous five games, the offense has become “hit or miss” in terms of consistency, and the multitude of inopportunely timed turnovers have only added to the team’s recent struggles.
For the Hawkeyes to snap their losing streak, they will need to find consistent scoring from their depth players, significantly cut back on their turnovers, and play a complete 40 minutes against the Huskies.
