Wild Prospect’s NHL Debut Will Have To Wait

One of the Minnesota Wild’s (24-11-4) prospects is with the team in Carolina but he won’t play tonight.

Carson Lambos was recalled by the Wild before their two-game road trip to be the extra defenseman with Jared Spurgeon out with an injury.

But after the Wild beat the Washington Capitals on Thursday, they decided not to make any changes to the lineup tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes (23-13-2). Meaning, Lambos will have to wait a little longer for his NHL debut.

Lambos, 21, was the Wild’s 26th overall pick from the 2021 NHL Draft. This is his first time being called up to the NHL in his career.

The 6-foot-1 defender has two goals and five points in Iowa this season and has six goals and 19 points in 96 career AHL games across two seasons.

Wild Prospect’s NHL Debut Will Have To Wait

Minnesota Wild fans will have to wait a little longer to see top prospect Marco Rossi make his NHL debut. The 19-year-old forward was recently diagnosed with an upper-body injury that will sideline him for an indefinite amount of time.

Rossi, who was selected ninth overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, has been turning heads with his impressive play in the AHL this season. Many were eager to see the young Austrian make the jump to the NHL and showcase his skills on the big stage.

Unfortunately, this setback will delay Rossi’s debut and leave fans wondering when they will finally get to see him in action. Despite the disappointment, the Wild organization is focused on Rossi’s recovery and ensuring that he is fully healthy before returning to the ice.

While it may be frustrating to have to wait, Wild fans can take solace in the fact that Rossi’s debut will be worth the wait. In the meantime, they can continue to support the team and look forward to seeing Rossi make an impact when he does eventually hit the ice.
