WJC Flyers’ Prospects Updates – FLYERS NITTY GRITTY

Before the WJC Tournament kicked off, there were supposed to be five Flyers Prospects in this particular tournament. Unfortunately, Jack Berglund broke his hand for Sweden in a pre-season tilt, thus he he has been scratched for the tournament, obviously.

This is a great tournament to highlight prospects, and upcoming draftee prospects. A lot of craziness happens, but that’s what makes this tournament fun, especially this time of year.

Oliver Bonk has played well. Bonk has made the right plays at both even strength, and with the man advantage. He has tallied one goal and one assists in three games played, while owning a +3.

Bonk has broke up some plays, and has made some goods reads Defensively. Canada plays Team USA today at 8pm EST tonight.

Jett Luchanko bursted on the scene a few games ago against Latvia, with a beautiful short-handed tally. However, he did not have a single shot in the eventual shootout loss to Latvia, which was pretty surprising. He is also a plus one for his efforts, as he continues to play well at both ends of the ice. There is a reason he was coveted by the Flyers, and it begins with his polay with the puck. Luchanko is very hard to move off the puck, and he also makes good reads.

Flyers Goaltending prospect Carson Bjarnason has been relegated to the third string goalie position for Team Canada, so he fails to get a mention.

.

Heikki Ruohonen has yet to hit the scoresheet for Finland. Hopefully, he does today at 230pm EST.
