WWE Raw On Netflix Highlights, Winners And Grades
Logan Paul, GUNTHER And Seth Rollins Face Off
GUNTHER and Seth Rollins had a standard babyface-heel faceoff, but this segment really leveled up when Logan Paul arrived. This man got so much heat.
While getting booed loudly and receiving “you suck!” chants, Paul screamed over the Atlanta crowd. Paul then reminded Rollins and GUNTHER that these passionate reactions were attention.
Paul declared for the Royal Rumble. GUNTHER said he hopes Paul wins because he wants to embarrass Logan Paul at WrestleMania. Not much actually happened during this segment, but it was very loud and heated.
Opening Segment Grade: B+
War Raiders Def. Judgment Day
Early in the match, JD McDonagh smacked the back of his head against the announce table after a moonsault. It was a very scary spot. Cole and McAfee spent the rest of the match putting over JD. They were in awe as to how he kept going. Even when JD got back on the apron, fans cheered him out of respect.
The commentary team continued to put over JD’s big head as he connected with headbutts on his opponents. At one point, Erik hit a knee to the back of JD’s head.
The Judgment Day just came up short, and the War Raiders won with the War Machine. This felt like JD’s coming out party.
WWE World Tag Team Title Match Grade: A-
Rey Mysterio Def. Xavier Woods
Xavier Woods reserved seats for his family, but they didn’t show up…yet.
Woods followed in Kofi’s footsteps with his new gear: Black jeans and fist tape.
Woods’ family finally showed up, but revealed they were wearing “New Day Sucks” t-shirts. The distraction was enough to cost Woods the match.
Woods and Kofi losing does not feel like they’re getting jobbed out. It feels like part of a bigger story where the New Day will eventually look in the mirror and realize they made a mistake by turning on Big E. I could see a reunion as soon as WrestleMania.
Rey Mysterio vs. Xavier Woods Grade: B
Jey Uso Yeets Live
Jey Uso’s entrance lasted several minutes and was lit as ever in Atlanta. In attendance were Atlanta rappers Killer Mike, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, 2 Chainz and Quavo, who accompanied Uso to the ring with the Smoking Skull belt.
Good thing Jey Uso didn’t have to wrestle, because this was a lot of yeeting. While cutting his promo, he seemed a bit winded and I don’t blame him. This was a good workout for the conditioning he’ll need in the Royal Rumble Match.
Uso vowed to win the Royal Rumble and get his revenge on GUNTHER, something I think is more realistic than it sounds given how stacked the Royal Rumble is.
Jey Uso Segment Grade: B
Morgan And Rodriguez Def. Naomi And Belair
After being on top of the women’s division and all over TV, Liv Morgan is in a transitional phase headed into WrestleMania. She didn’t even receive and entrance.
Cole noted Jade Cargill eliminated Naomi in last year’s Royal Rumble. He also pointed out that Liv Morgan had finished as the runner-up in the last two Royal Rumble matches.
Bianca hit Liv Morgan with 17 punches and the crowd counted along to every one of them.
Dirty Dom tried to get out of the doghouse with a distraction. For his troubles, Belair hit a dive on Dom to the outside. The led to a two-on-one advantage where Rodriguez slammed Naomi on the apron, leading to a Morgan win.
After shouting out Georgia Championship Wrestling and WCW, Michael Cole put himself over as the only commentator to be undefeated at WrestleMania. Of course, this also happened in Atlanta. Pat McAfee went onto roast Cole’s gear and weight at WrestleMania 27. They also showed footage of Cole’s botched handshake with Quavo from earlier in the night.
Morgan and Rodriguez vs. Belair and Naomi Grade: B+
Paul Heyman Reveals WWE 2K25 Cover
Paul Heyman appeared to reveal the cover of WWE 2K25. Roman Reigns was on the cover, as was teased on the January 6 Raw.
Paul Heyman called himself the one behind the one in 29-1. Heyman name-dropped Elon Musk, saying when Musk colonizes Mars, Roman Reigns will be the best on that planet, too.
Heyman, who was blowing up during this promo worse than Jey Uso from earlier, called the Royal Rumble field “Roman wannabes.” Suspiciously, he did not mention CM Punk, and CM Punk did not interrupt him. Drew McIntyre did.
Fans chanted “we want Roman” as soon as Drew began to speak. They also chanted “we don’t care!” as he ran down Reigns.
McIntyre told Heyman to warn “his boy” that he’s coming for him. Heyman said he’d let Roman Reigns know, but Drew said he wasn’t talking about Reigns. He was talking about CM Punk.
Paul Heyman Reveal Grade: B
Drew McIntyre Def. Sami Zayn
Early in the match, McIntyre taunted Sami Zayn about his record against him. 10-0.
Despite the “we don’t care” chants from earlier, there were dueling chants of “let’s go Sami/let’s go Drew!”
Sami Zayn was bleeding from the nose the hard way. Not to be outdone (though he was outdone by JD earlier in the night), Drew McIntyre missed a Claymore Kick and landed on the table where he hit the back of his head.
I have a feeling that Zayn will get a measure of revenge by eliminating McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.
McIntyre won with his feet on the ropes. 11-0. After the match, Drew continued to beat on Sami, but Cody Rhodes made the save. Owens attacked Rhodes as Owens and McIntyre beat Cody down. Then, for the second week in a row, Sami Zayn hit a Helluva Kick on a babyface. This time, on Cody Rhodes. KO was pleased.
WWE Raw Main Event Grade: B
CM Punk And Cody Rhodes Face Off
With the two world titles hanging above, Rhodes cut an impassioned promo after the match and before WWE Raw went off the air. Rhodes was then interrupted by CM Punk.
Punk gave Cody a pep talk. He said he’s Cody’s friend, and because of a promise Punk made to Dusty Rhodes, he’ll always be Cody’s friend. Punk said the world championship changes you for the worse, just as it did when he was around Day 300 of his historic world title reign.
Cody called back to his segment with Punk last year before the Royal Rumble, where Punk quietly predicted The Rock would try to take his spot. Cody then asked Prescient Punk what’s going to happen next. Punk said he’d win the Royal Rumble and take Cody’s title, thereby stabbing him in the front. This faceoff wasn’t nearly as good as their segment from last year, but it did the trick.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes Faceoff Grade: B-
