Zach Edey Sidelined with Concussion, Will Miss Grizzlies vs. Thunder Matchup

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without rookie center Zach Edey for their upcoming matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he continues to recover from a concussion.

Edey suffered the injury during a recent practice session, and the team has decided to err on the side of caution and keep him out of action until he is fully cleared to return.

The 7-foot-4 center has been a key contributor for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 8.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. His presence in the paint has been crucial for Memphis, especially on the defensive end where he has been a shot-blocking force.

Without Edey in the lineup, the Grizzlies will have to rely on their other big men to step up in his absence. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Steven Adams will likely see increased minutes and responsibilities in the frontcourt, as they look to fill the void left by Edey’s absence.

While Edey’s injury is certainly a setback for the Grizzlies, the team is confident that they have the depth and talent to overcome this challenge. Head coach Taylor Jenkins has faith in his players and believes that they will be able to adjust and continue to compete at a high level, even without Edey on the court.

As for Edey, the team will continue to monitor his progress and follow the necessary protocols to ensure that he is able to return to action safely and without any lingering effects from the concussion. In the meantime, the Grizzlies will have to make do without one of their key contributors as they look to secure a win against the Thunder.
