What is the January transfer window?
The January transfer window allows clubs the opportunity to strengthen their squads over a five-week period.
It is their final chance of the season to sign players, with no business to be carried out once the window is closed.
When does it open and close?
Premier League clubs are able to sign new players from Wednesday 1 January.
The transfer window will shut on Monday 3 February, at 23:00 GMT.
What are the transfer window dates of other leagues?
The Bundesliga and Ligue 1 join the Premier League clubs in being able to trade from New Year’s Day. The markets in LaLiga, Serie A and Portugal’s Primeira Liga open on 2 January.
The closure of the window aligns for most major European leagues, but the exact times on Monday 3 February vary.
Turkey’s Super Lig opens on Monday 13 January and stays open until Tuesday 11 February. Clubs in Saudi Arabia can do business from 1 January to 31 January.
