Transfer Portal WR Cam Thompson locks in visits


Northern Illinois receiver Cam Thompson entered the Transfer Portal over the weekend and now has three visits set.

Per his agents Darren Wilson and Chase Moss, the 6-foot, 198-pound Thompson will take an official visit to California on Jan. 2-3 before heading to Mississippi State Jan. 5-6.

Thompson will also get to West Virginia next week.

This past fall as a red-shirt sophomore Thompson played in 11 games and caught 28 passes for 391 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran back a kick for a score.

Thompson began his college career at Eastern Illinois and played his high school football at Boardman (Ohio) where he shined as a receiver and safety.
