Choose and verify an app

Start with one workflow, inspect the actual tool and collect evidence before expanding a pilot. A published page is not proof of a working integration.

Three different readiness levels

Working tool

Reproduce its stated function with synthetic inputs. Check output, errors and limits. A local calculator is not a connected AI service.

Prototype

Identify unfinished features and dependencies. Test in an isolated environment; do not assume production readiness.

Documented concept

A README, mockup or description can explain an idea without implementing it. Review code and deployment evidence.

Five checks before a pilot

  1. Name the workflow, owner and baseline. Define one measurable success criterion.
  2. Inspect source, inputs, outputs and external dependencies. Verify what actually runs.
  3. Use synthetic or authorized data. Review access, retention and supplier terms.
  4. Test missing inputs, errors and recovery. Require human review and a stop rule.
  5. Record results, limitations and the exact tested version before deciding to expand.

Four connected tools to inspect

AI governance checklist

Record review questions; a checklist does not certify compliance.
