Supplier quote review guide

Compare evidence before committing. This guide supports the local calculator; it is not a supplier offer or authorization.

Compare the complete cost

Fictional USD example: service 100 + travel 10 + freight 5 + nonrecoverable taxes 5 + other confirmed costs 10 = complete cost 130. Compare the same scope, currency and delivery window; there is no exchange-rate conversion.

Markup is not gross margin

At 40% markup, 130 × 1.40 = 182 before client tax. The illustrative gross margin is (182 − 130) / 182 = 28.57%, not 40%. The calculator rejects markup below 40%.

Separate client taxes

An illustrative 10% client tax on 182 is 18.20, giving a total of 200.20. This is not a recommended tax rate. Include supplier tax in cost only when nonrecoverable; confirm treatment with the finance owner and avoid double counting.

Keep the authorization gate

Missing declarations mean HOLD. Even all checked declarations require final owner review and independent source-document verification. Written client confirmation, applicable PO and separate written Zion authorization are required before any purchase, reservation, shipment or dispatch.

Protect the internal report

Use fictional examples or aliases, not confidential details. Calculator inputs are not uploaded or persistently stored. The downloaded report is internal: do not share supplier identities, original costs or internal profit in client offers. A local report does not send email or place an order.

A lower headline price can cost more

Fictional training example: both offers cover the same scope, currency and delivery window. These values are not market prices or a supplier recommendation.

HOLD: all nine declarations remain unchecked. No order, reservation or dispatch is authorized.

Supplier B starts USD 10 lower but costs USD 10 more in total. Compare availability, qualifications, quote validity, warranty and cancellation as well as price.

The 40% markup is applied to complete cost, not a 40% gross margin. The assumed 10% client tax is for training only; verify local tax treatment and avoid double counting.
