Kaia Gerber and Lewis Pullman Get Cozy at His Birthday Party After Austin Butler Split (Exclusive)

Kaia Gerber is spending time with someone new.

Weeks after PEOPLE confirmed her split from actor Austin Butler, the model, 23, was spotted hanging out with Lewis Pullman at Los Angeles restaurant Salazar on his birthday. Lewis’s father, actor Bill Pullman, was also in attendance.

“They’ve been spending time together the last few weeks,” a source tells PEOPLE of Gerber and Lewis, 32.

The insider added, “They’re a cute couple and very low-key.”

For the birthday outing, Gerber kept it casual in a denim jacket and dark pants, accessorizing with a green scarf. Lewis was equally low-key in jeans, a white T-shirt, a zip-up sweatshirt and a baseball cap.

The duo dined together and at one point during the evening, Gerber was photographed holding onto Lewis’ arm.

Reps for Gerber and Lewis did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In early January, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Gerber and Butler, 33, split more than three years after going public with their relationship in March 2022.

TMZ was the first to report the news, stating that the couple went their separate ways near the end of 2024. The outlet also noted that the Elvis actor was absent from the Gerber family’s vacation in Mexico.

Gerber and Butler first sparked romance rumors in December 2021 when they attended a yoga session together in L.A. After being spotted together numerous times, they made their red carpet debut at W Magazine‘s annual Best Performances party three months later in March 2022.

That May, the pair attended the 2022 Met Gala together. They walked the carpet separately but posed for photos (and shared a kiss) when they reached the top of the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase. They were later seen kissing at the 2023 Golden Globes and attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty following the ceremony where Butler was nominated for Best Actor.

In an interview with WSJ. Magazine published in February 2024, Gerber explained why she and Butler kept a low profile.

“Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible,” she told the outlet.

Prior to her relationship with Butler, Gerber dated Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi. Butler previously dated High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens for eight years before their split in January 2020.
