Et l’affaire tourna vinaigre. A première vue, le renouvellement de la concession du Stade de France aurait pu être un non-événement, un appel d’offres comme il en existe régulièrement dans l’Hexagone et qui ne fait guère parler de lui. Loupé, le choix de l’exploitant de cette arène de 80 000 places, dans laquelle l’équipe de France de football a remporté la Coupe du monde en 1998 tourne depuis quelques semaines à la foire d’empoigne et embarrasse sérieusement le gouvernement. La décision, le 10 décembre 2024, de débuter des négociations exclusives avec le groupe GL Events pressenti comme le futur exploitant des lieux a sérieusement contrarié l’autre et unique concurrent : en l’occurrence le consortium composé des deux géants du BTP Bouygues et Vinci présents dans les lieux depuis trente ans et bien décidés à y rester. L’affaire a d’ailleurs pris un tour judiciaire, puisqu’un recours en référé (c’est-à-dire en urgence) a été déposé devant le tribunal administratif de Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) afin de faire annuler la décision gouvernementale. Conscients que l’affaire est d’importance, les magistrats ont choisi de se prononcer en formation collégiale et non de laisser un seul et unique juge trancher. L’audience se tiendra ce mercredi 29 janvier. Au bas mot, le renouvellement pour trente ans de cette concession représente la modique somme de 2,5 milliards d‘euros de chiffre d’affaires cumulé.
