In just a few hours, the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match is set to take place, and the WWE Universe is buzzing with excitement. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and more are already confirmed as entrants, and there are strong hints suggesting that The Rock could make a shocking return.
However, after this week’s SmackDown, it seems likely that OG Bloodline member, Jimmy Uso, could be eliminated by Shinsuke Nakamura to set up a feud for WrestleMania 41. This speculation arose after the latest episode of the blue brand, where the King of Strong Style was spotted in the background as Big Jim made his entrance.
This subtle hint suggests that WWE might be planning a feud between these two stars. With Nakamura currently holding the United States Championship, it’s possible that the mid-card title could be on the line in this potential rivalry.
If both Shinsuke and Jimmy enter the over-the-top-rope contest, the Japanese star could be the one to eliminate the Samoan Twin, planting the initial seeds for their upcoming title feud. The former Tag Team Champion could then seek revenge for his elimination, fueling their rivalry.
Additionally, WWE could incorporate a storyline that highlights the contrast between Jey and Jimmy’s singles runs. It could be done by showcasing how the YEET Master is receiving world title opportunities while his brother is struggling to break through.
This angle has already been referenced, with Carmelo Hayes mocking Jimmy and taking personal shots at his lack of opportunities. Nakamura could follow a similar path, intensifying their rivalry and positioning Jimmy as a serious contender for the U.S. Title.
A feud for the mid-card championship would be a great way for WWE to establish Jimmy’s singles run outside the Bloodline saga. Ultimately, it will be interesting to see what unfolds at Royal Rumble 2025 when the 30-man over-the-top-rope battle takes place.
Shinsuke Nakamura might not target only Jimmy Uso ahead of WWE Royal Rumble 2025
Not only is the OG Bloodline member a potential target, but it seems like the King of Strong Style has more opponents on his radar. During this week’s SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura was spotted in a backstage conversation while Damian Priest, LA Knight, and R-Truth were talking.
This could be a major indication that WWE might be heading toward a singles title rivalry between Jimmy Uso and Shinsuke. Otherwise, it could be the buildup of a multi-man title storyline leading into this year’s Showcase of The Immortals.

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi is a real-life member of The Bloodline and has always been proud of his heritage. The legendary star recently broke his silence following a huge announcement by a fellow member of The Bloodline.
Rikishi has three sons in WWE: Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa. The Usos are real-life twins, while Sikoa is their younger brother. They have five more siblings named Jeremiah, Thamiko, Tobias, Samson, and Thavana. The youngest is Samson Fatu, who currently plays high school football at Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks, California.
Samson has a promising career with an offer from Portland State University in 2023. He recently announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that another program offered him a scholarship. The Sacramento State Hornets already met with the young offensive lineman, who will be part of the 2026 recruiting class.
Rikishi reshared the announcement, adding the blood drop emoji, showing how proud he was for another accomplishment for his youngest son.

It will be interesting to see if Samson Fatu continues the legacy of The Bloodline as a football player. Several members of his family played college football, such as The Rock (Miami), Roman Reigns (Georgia Tech), Jey and Jimmy Uso (West Alabama), Solo Sikoa (Dickinson State), and Rosey (Hawaii).
All the names mentioned didn’t make it to the NFL but found success in pro wrestling.
Rikishi opens up about Samson Fatu’s future in WWE
On his Off The Top podcast in December 2024, Rikishi commented on the buzz surrounding his son, Samson Fatu. The Hall of Famer revealed that Samson wanted to accomplish something before pursuing the NFL or even pro wrestling.
“He wants to become a millionaire before moving into NFL, and with the opportunities that are out there with NIL and stuff for college kids, I said, ‘Dude, this is an opportunity given to you.’ So he sounds like he has a little bit of interest, and if in case the day comes, I’m gonna have no worries because he’s been around this business since he was five,” the legend said. [H/T: Fightful]
The Bloodline has dominated WWE over the past four years, with Roman Reigns at the helm. Considering Jacob Fatu’s rise atop the card, the future of the Samoan dynasty looks bright.

‘I Am That Age!’: Joey Fatone on Going From Boy Band Member to Father Figure in & Juliet
The former NSYNC member is reliving his glory days in the Broadway musical.
Pop star Joey Fatone had known about the development of the musical & Juliet for a long time, and was interested in doing it from the beginning. So when he got the call from producers that they were ready for him to come in to the Broadway run, it was an immediate yes. He worked to find a space in his busy schedule. “Getting back in a theatre, on the grind, it’s fun!” he tells Playbill.
Fatone is stepping into the Max Martin jukebox musical for a limited run until March 16. Fatone’s previous Broadway credits include Rent and Little Shop of Horrors. In & Juliet, Fatone plays Lance, who is a father and, also, a former member of a boy band. Which is something like art imitating life. He says that sharing the stage with young performers makes him think back to his early days with NSYNC.
“It’s amazing because I remember having the aspirations, the hunger, the drive. I still have the hunger and the drive, but it’s different. It’s not like I need to be somebody. As far as NSYNC, I became somebody with them, and then I did stuff on my own. I’ve done a lot of the things I’ve always dreamt about doing.” He then exclaims, “Mentally, you start to go, ‘Holy shit, I am that age!’ I’m now taking on the father roles, which I am okay with.”
& Juliet flips the script on the William Shakespeare classic, imagining what would happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo. Featuring a book by David West Read, the score includes a mix of tunes by pop songwriter Max Martin, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “I Want It That Way,” and “Confident.” It also includes songs from NSYNC, though Fatone doesn’t sing those.
Above, watch Fatone discuss what he loves about the stage and what it’s like, as a former NSYNC member, to sing (rival boy band) Backstreet Boys songs on the stage.
The international hit musical, which opened at the Sondheim November 17, 2022, was the first new musical of the 2022–2023 Broadway season to announce its recoupment.
In the hit musical & Juliet, former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone takes on the role of a father figure as he portrays William Shakespeare in a modern twist on the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet.
Fatone, who rose to fame as a member of the boy band sensation *NSYNC, has transitioned from being a heartthrob to a seasoned performer who brings depth and emotion to his character on stage.
In a recent interview, Fatone reflected on his evolution from boy band member to father figure, saying, “I am that age now where I can relate to playing a father figure on stage. It’s a different kind of role for me, but one that I embrace wholeheartedly.”
Fans of Fatone can catch him in & Juliet, where he brings a new perspective to the timeless tale of love and tragedy. Don’t miss the chance to see this talented performer in action!

Papini claimed she had been kidnapped by two Hispanic women.
However, a years-long investigation found that she had faked her own kidnapping and was hiding in an ex-boyfriend’s house; that man later told police that she had asked him to hit her. When he refused, she bruised herself.
While this revelation shocked many, including her own husband, Davari was not surprised, he told Inside Edition after her 2022 arrest.
“I was like, there’s no way. She’s fine. I promise you she’s fine. There’s just no chance that she got kidnapped,” he said.
He claimed Papini was a “compulsive liar” — and he had his suspicions when he first heard about her kidnapping that later turned out to be a hoax.
“She would not talk to you for three or four days, and then all of a sudden there’d be some fantastical story about what happened,” Davari claimed.
At the time, Davari said he was speaking out to dispel rumors that he was the ex-boyfriend and Papini had colluded with him.

Former al Qaeda member Ahmad al-Sharaa, formerly known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, has been named as Syria’s president for a transitional period.
“We announce the appointment of Commander Ahmad al-Sharaa as head of state during the transitional period. He will assume the duties of the president of the Syrian Arab Republic and represent the country in international forums,” commander Hassan Abdel Ghani, spokesman for the Syria Military Operations Command, said in a statement Wednesday.
“The president is authorized to form a temporary legislative council for the transitional phase, which will carry out its duties until a permanent constitution is enacted and put into effect,” Ghani added.
The command also announced several resolutions, including the suspension of the country’s constitution, the dissolution of the country’s parliament, and the dissolution of the former regime’s army and its Baath party.
Al-Sharaa was the leader of the main militant group that spearheaded the lightning offensive that led to the overthrow last year of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, whose regime had been in power for several decades.
His task now will be rebuilding a country torn apart by more than a decade of civil war that has killed more than 300,000 people and displaced millions more, according to the UN. The conflict broke out during the 2011 Arab Spring when the Assad regime suppressed a pro-democracy uprising and soon plunged into a full-scale war that pulled in other regional powers from Saudi Arabia and Iran to the United States and Russia and enabled ISIS to gain a foothold – for a while – in the country.
Shortly before he was named president, Al-Sharaa said the Assad regime had “left behind deep societal, economic, political and other wounds, and fixing them requires great wisdom, hard work and doubled effort.”
A sense of duty was what Syria “needs today more than ever,” he said.
“Just as we were determined in the past to liberate it, our duty now is to be determined to build and develop it,” Al-Sharaa added.
Al-Sharaa became a Syrian “foreign fighter” in his early 20s, crossing into Iraq to fight the Americans when they invaded the country in the spring of 2003. That eventually landed him in the notorious US-run Iraqi prison, Camp Bucca, which became a key recruiting ground for terrorist groups, including what would become ISIS.
Freed from Camp Bucca, he crossed back into Syria and started fighting against the Baathist Assad regime, doing so with the backing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who would later become the founder of ISIS.
In Syria, he founded a militant group known as Jabhat al-Nusra (“the Victory Front” in English), which pledged allegiance to al Qaeda, but in 2016, he broke away from the terror group, according to the US Center for Naval Analyses.
Since then – unlike al Qaeda, which promoted a quixotic global holy war – Al-Sharaa’s group, now known by the initials HTS (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham), has undertaken the more prosaic job of trying to govern millions of people in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, providing basic services, according to the terrorism scholar Aaron Zelin who has written a book about HTS.
Ahmad al-Sharaa: Former al Qaeda member named as Syria’s president for transitional period
In a shocking turn of events, former al Qaeda member Ahmad al-Sharaa has been named as Syria’s president for a transitional period. The announcement has sent shockwaves through the international community, with many expressing concern over al-Sharaa’s past ties to the terrorist organization.
Al-Sharaa, who reportedly joined al Qaeda in the early 2000s, has since renounced his extremist beliefs and has been working towards peace and reconciliation in Syria. His appointment as president is seen as a controversial move, with some questioning his ability to lead the country effectively.
Despite the skepticism surrounding his appointment, al-Sharaa has expressed his commitment to bringing stability and prosperity to Syria during this transitional period. He has promised to work towards uniting the country and rebuilding its infrastructure, while also addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
As the world watches closely, only time will tell if Ahmad al-Sharaa can truly lead Syria towards a brighter future. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
An associate of Cassie Ventura, whose allegations of abuse against Sean “Diddy” Combs kicked off the hip-hop mogul’s deluge of legal woes, is sharing what she witnessed of the pair’s allegedly tumultuous relationship.
Celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales, who worked with the “Me & U” singer, claims she came to Ventura’s rescue in the aftermath of a violent argument with Combs during the Monday premiere of Investigation Discovery’s “The Fall of Diddy,” a four-part docuseries that aims to illuminate the “harrowing allegations of violent behavior and illegal activity” recently leveled against Combs.
Morales said the alleged altercation took place the weekend of the 2010 Grammy Awards. While staying at The Beverly Hills Hotel with Ventura, Morales said an irate Combs burst into the room looking for Ventura, after which the couple stepped away for an argument.
The makeup artist said Ventura was visibly injured after she emerged from the dispute, noting she had “knots on her head, (a) bruised eye” and a “busted lip.” Morales said she then called a friend of hers who was a doctor to treat Ventura, adding that the women did not report the incident to the police nor go to the hospital for further treatment.
“We were scared off Puff. We were always scared of him,” Morales explained. “If we called the police, what would happen? He’s a very powerful person in the business, and he can do things that will make you go away. And many people are afraid of him till this day.”
In response to “Fall of Diddy” producers’ request for comment, Combs’ representatives said: “Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court the truth will prevail: that the accusations against Mr. Combs are pure fiction.”
The Grammy-winning rapper has denied all accusations against him and remains in custody at the Special Housing Unit in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His trial is set for May 5.
Here are the biggest revelations from “The Fall of Diddy” (streaming now on Max).
Vibe magazine editor says Diddy threatened her over cover shoot
Danyel Smith, former editor-in-chief of Vibe magazine, alleges Combs threatened her in the late 1990s due to a disagreement over the rapper’s cover shoot for the hip-hop outlet.
Smith, who claims the incident happened in the fall of 1997, said Combs expressed interest in seeing the final images for his Vibe cover. After Smith repeatedly declined Combs’ request, citing company policy, the journalist said Combs told her in a phone conversation that he “would see me dead in a trunk.”
Although Combs later reportedly apologized for the remark at the demand of Smith’s attorney, Smith said she had to be escorted by fellow Vibe staffers when she delivered the proofs for Combs’ cover, after staffers alleged Combs came to the publication’s office with “two tough guys looking for me.”
Despite the alleged threat, Smith continued to interact and “be cordial” with Combs: “It’s very hard not to feel complicit. I wish that things were different.”
Howard University alum alleges domestic violence incident
An alumni of Combs’ alma mater, Howard University, alleges they witnessed Combs assault a female student on campus.
The former Howard University student, who is not identified in the docuseries, said the alleged 1988 incident took place outside their dorm after Combs was spotted angrily searching for the female student, at one point whipping the wall with his belt.
When the female student met with Combs, the Howard alumni claimed he began beating her. Despite the alumni’s verbal protests from their dorm window, Combs’ interaction with the young woman continued in the doorway of a different dorm.
“Nobody actually really came to her rescue like we probably should have,” the Howard alumni reflected. “It’s very important to tell that young woman’s story because he was never held accountable.”
Concert promoter says Diddy pursued him in ‘high-speed chase’ amid East Coast-West Coast feud
Concert promoter DeWitt Gilmore claims Combs retaliated against him during the East Coast-West Coast feud that defined hip-hop culture in the mid-’90s. (Gilmore sued Combs and his bodyguards in November for assault and battery over the alleged 1996 incident.)
In the documentary, Gilmore claims Combs targeted him after the music mogul spotted him wearing a T-shirt that read “Death Row East.” Death Row Records, a Los Angeles-based record label co-founded by Suge Knight, was famously at odds with Combs’ Bad Boy Records due to the rivalry between their respective artists, 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G.
“He aligned his beef with Suge Knight and Death Row and the West Coast with that T-shirt,” Gilmore said. “So, it’s like, ‘How dare you jump to the other side?’”
Gilmore also alleged Combs pursued him in a “high-speed chase” throughout Manhattan following a tense conversation in their vehicles. At one point, the concert promoter said he and his friend heard gunfire, though it was unclear where the shot came from.
“My whole future would be erased through your menace to society,” said Gilmore, seemingly addressing Combs. “My story is just a piece of the bigger puzzle of his mayhem.”
Shooting victim recalls 1999 club incident: ‘My life was never going to be the same’
A woman who claims Combs shot her during a 1999 nightclub altercation with fellow rapper Moses “Shyne” Barrow is reflecting on the harrowing incident.
Natania Griffin, previously identified as Natania Reuben, said that in the moments leading up to the shooting, she witnessed Combs and Harrow both reach toward their waists to grab their firearms as they were exiting Club New York. The woman, who was shot in the face, added she then saw a “muzzle flash” before feeling the pain of her facial injury.
“I was certain that I was going to be dead at that moment because I didn’t think a human could lose that much blood and still be alive,” said Griffin, later sobbing. “I just knew my life was never going to be the same again.”
Combs was frequenting the Manhattan club with then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez when he and his bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones, allegedly got into a dispute with Barrow. The resulting gunfight left three people injured, including Griffin. Combs, Lopez, Jones and Barrow were all briefly arrested.
Griffin also recalled the harassment and alleged threats she experienced for speaking out on the shooting, adding she was forced to move homes after noticing “blacked out SUVs” parked in front of her residence. “I was a child of hip-hop,” Griffin said. “I didn’t deserve this. I was a victim. I wanted justice.”
Danity Kane alum D. Woods says Diddy was ‘verbally abusive’
Actress and singer D. Woods, who was a member of Combs’ girl group Danity Kane, spoke out on Combs’ legal troubles in an interview with ABC News’ Eva Pilgrim that aired Monday.
“You know, he is looked at as a hero of our community, and myself included, I looked up to him too,” Woods told Pilgrim. “I would say that this moment now is a time where I feel like my experience, my truth will really be heard and actually considered and believed.”
Woods, whose professional relationship with Combs was documented on MTV’s “Making the Band 3,” said the music mogul created a verbally abusive work environment. “He did it in different ways with all of us, you know, picking and prodding and just a way to chip and knock away, but then praise you,” she said.
Woods’ account of working with Combs will be featured in subsequent episodes of “The Fall of Diddy.”
Woods isn’t the only member of Danity Kane speaking out against Combs. In September 2024, Woods’ former bandmate Dawn Richard sued Combs on 21 counts of sexual assault and battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination and copyright infringement.

Fox News’ Alexis McAdams provides details on newly confirmed DHS Sec. Kristi Noem’s efforts to aid ICE during raids in New York City and the arrest of a suspected Tren de Aragua member.
A Venezuelan migrant arrested Tuesday morning during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in New York City is a member of the violent Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, Fox News has learned.
Sources in the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that the suspect, who they identified as Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, was arrested inside a Bronx apartment and charged with kidnapping, assault and burglary.
Investigators said the 25-year-old Zambrano-Pacheco is the same man who was caught on camera in a video showing heavily armed men kicking down an apartment door at an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.
Zambrano-Pacheco has since been hiding out in New York City, according to authorities.

In a recent development, a suspected member of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang who was wanted for an apartment takeover in Aurora, Colorado has been apprehended in New York City. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was believed to be involved in a violent home invasion in Aurora where multiple individuals were held hostage.
Authorities had been on the lookout for the suspect for weeks, and their efforts finally paid off when he was tracked down and arrested in NYC. The Tren de Aragua gang, known for its ruthless tactics and involvement in drug trafficking, has been a major concern for law enforcement agencies in both the US and Venezuela.
The apprehension of this wanted member is a significant victory in the fight against organized crime and serves as a warning to others involved in criminal activities. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies in different states highlights the importance of cooperation in combating transnational criminal organizations.
The suspect is currently awaiting extradition to Colorado to face charges related to the apartment takeover. More details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

NCIS‘ Nick Torres has not shied away from romance, and his secret girlfriend in NCIS season 22 is likely one of five women who have already appeared on the show. While romance has never been the focal point of the military police procedural, the NCIS franchise has featured several heart-throbbing romances in many tropes, including friends-to-lovers and slow-burn relationships.
Torres’ latest girlfriend has been kept a secret from the other NCIS characters, which gives the implication that his new girlfriend is known to his team and that she has appeared on NCIS before. There are several women who could have stolen his heart, but Torres has not given any hints that could reveal his partner’s identity. Even so, some clues may have offered an idea on who his new love interest is.

Ellie Bishop
Had A Tense Will-They-Won’t-They Relationship With Torres for Five Seasons
One of the likely candidates for Torres’ secret romance in NCIS season 22 is Ellie Bishop. The two shared a will-they-won’t-they relationship ever since Torres joined NCIS in season 14. After Ellie Bishop’s abrupt exit in NCIS season 18, the two never received proper closure, leaving Torres heartbroken and uninterested in dating for four years.
While Ellie Bishop, played by Emily Wickersham, has been written off of NCIS, there are two ways that she could legally be brought back.
If Bishop is Torres’ secret girlfriend, it would explain his secrecy. Bishop betrayed her team by leaking classified documents and covering it up. If she were to return to NCIS, she would need to either face a trial or keep her relationship with Torres very secretive to protect them both.

Robin Knight
Robin Was First Introduced In NCIS Season 20
Robin Knight is Jessica Knight’s younger sister and was first introduced in NCIS season 20’s Thanksgiving episode, “Turkey Trot.” She is the complete opposite of Jessica, which is what would make her relationship with Torres so intriguing. NCIS‘ showrunner, Steven D. Binder, has revealed that Nick Torres’ girlfriend has appeared on NCIS before, which means that it is likely that Robin is his new girlfriend.
Robin Knight is played by Lilan Bowden in NCIS.
Jessica and Robin have gotten closer ever since their encounter in NCIS season 20 where the latter’s ex-fiancé threatened their lives as a way of enacting revenge on the MCRT member for something she had been involved with years ago. Their closeness could have led to Robin being invited on group outings with her sister. As Jessica and Torres are close friends outside of work, it is plausible that Torres and Robin connected as friends in a group setting and became closer as time went on.

Sarah McGee
Sarah Appeared On NCIS During Its Earlier Seasons
Sarah McGee is Tim McGee’s younger sister, and so far, she has only appeared in one episode of NCIS season 2 and was a major character in NCIS season 4, episode 9, “Twisted Sister.” Despite barely being involved in the show, she did have the potential to date an NCIS member at the time, as Tony DiNozzo showed some interest in her during her appearance. Somehow, DiNozzo’s interest in her all those years ago could have foreshadowed a future romance between her and another MCRTmember, Torres.
Parker’s MCRT is very close, so it is reasonable to assume they have all been invited to each other’s events outside of work…
Almost 20 years later, Sarah could be considered a viable candidate for Torres’ love life in NCIS season 22. While the two have never met on screen, Sarah and Torress have likely met outside of work through McGee’s family gatherings and personal events. Parker’s MCRT is very close, so it is reasonable to assume they have all been invited to each other’s events outside of work, which would give Torres the opportunity to meet Sarah.

Rachel Cranston
Rachel Appeared On NCIS Before Torres’ Time On The Show
Rachel is the late Kate Todd’s older sister, and she appeared as a recurring character in NCIS seasons 8 through 11 as a psychologist. Even though NCIS‘ Kate Todd died in the season 2 finale, her sister, Rachel, did not appear on the show until several years later. Rachel and Torres may not have met on-screen, but they could have met at a work eventand developed a personal relationship from there.
NCIS season 22’s ratings aren’t looking good. Based on CBS’ history of cancelations, what are the chances that it’ll pull the plug on the procedural?
While Rachel is not related to any current members of the MCRT, Torres’ secrecy about their relationship could be attributed to their large age gap. Rachel and Torres have about a 20-year age gap, which could be why Torres has felt uncomfortable sharing the news with his team. As Torres is very close with his colleagues, it is surprising that he has not revealed his girlfriend to them yet, but the age gap could be one explanation for why he has not.

Grace Confalone
Grace Has Been A Recurring Character on NCIS Since Season 13
Maybe one of the most controversial candidates for Torres’ secret romance, Dr. Grace Confalone has been a recurring NCIS character for several seasons. Torres began attending therapy sessions with Grace in NCIS season 19 and has since become a much more emotionally available and well-rounded character. While Torres’ therapy sessions have not been shown since NCIS season 20, it does not mean he has stopped seeing Grace.
Torres has had such great character growth in NCIS since going to therapy, so it is likely that he is still going to weekly sessions, but to a different therapist to allow room for a romantic relationship to develop with Grace.
A relationship between Grace and Torres may be unethical if he is still attending his sessions. However, given that he has not appeared in one since season 20, it means he could very well have stopped attending Grace’s sessions to seek her out romantically instead. Torres has had such great character growth in NCIS since going to therapy, so it is likely that he is still going to weekly sessions, but to a different therapist to allow room for a romantic relationship to develop with Grace.

New Suns acquisition Nick Richards went from playing consecutive games against the Suns to then becoming a member of the Suns just three days later.
The big man admitted he had the possibility of a trade in the back of his mind with rumors swirling in the days leading up to the deal. But despite his agents keeping him plugged in at all times, Richards was still surprised to end up in the Valley.
“I mean, obviously, I had no idea it was happening,” Richards told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo on Thursday. “My agents called me, and they told me, literally, like the day after we played Phoenix, everything was going to go down in a little bit. It came with a shock but I’m just happy that everything is working out for the best for both sides.”
Richards played well against the Suns, recording 15 points and 12 rebounds in 29 minutes in a win in Charlotte before tallying four points and five rebounds over 18 minutes in a loss for the Hornets in Phoenix.
The Suns then traded for Richards last Wednesday, sending Josh Okogie and draft capital to the Charlotte Hornets while also receiving a second-round draft pick.
Richards made his debut for Phoenix in a win in Detroit on Saturday and scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench.
The 7-footer started the next two games for the Suns and posted four points and four rebounds in 22 minutes in a loss in Cleveland on Monday, then eight points and 15 rebounds in a win over Brooklyn on Wednesday.
“I mean, in the world that we live in as NBA players, I think that everybody has that in the back of their mind that at some moment you could possibly get traded to a team,” Richards said. “So you just live with that. You prepare yourself with that in the back of your mind, but I guess you could say it was on my mind.”
Richards has averaged 11.0 points (on 75% shooting) and 10.0 rebounds in 24.3 minutes over his first three games in Phoenix.
