  • Sepulveda Fire Breaks Out Near Bel-Air

A 20-acre brush fire burning on the east side of the Sepulveda Pass near Bel-Air has prompted an evacuation warning for the residents south of the 1500 block of Casiano Road, north of Moraga Drive, east of Sepulveda Boulevard and west of Chalon Road, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. See map below.

Additionally, the southbound 405 Freeway was closed down for a time just north of the Getty Center. It was later reopened.

Winds in the area were out of the north at 8-15 mph, with gusts to 25 mph. According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to turn more northeasterly overnight and increase toward daybreak. Relative humidity is very low, between 3-8%.
